  1. I thought it might be that the actor was busy elsewhere, and you are correct, he was in the first couple of episodes, while they resolved his marital woes. Just miss the shows with the full cast.
  2. What does "in the following festive period" mean? That the 15th doctor's start will be a Christmas/New Year's show?
  3. I'm really worried that this show has been on too long. Not sure why this season has felt so fragmented to me, aside from the fact that none of the episodes have had a complete cast. Not sure why George (Jonny Harris) has been only one episode so far, when he's a main character. Thank goodness there are numerable previous seasons for me to watch and enjoy, having come to appreciate Murdoch late in the day. I'll be sad, though, if this season doesn't pick up.
  4. If you like Pedro Pascal, you should watch The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. He is really great in that, as is Nicholas Cage. It's not what you expect, but it had me laughing throughout and glued to the edge of my seat.
  5. I like Anna Torv and Pedro Pascal as well, and would rather have the young girl who played his daughter, Sarah, playing Ellie. I didn't feel anything for Bella Ramsey's performance. Hopefully she'll grow on me (but not like a fungus). I've heard the science about fungi and how they can take over a person to the extent they can change a person's thinking, it's all rather frightening how vunerable we are. I always wonder why post-apocalyptic worlds are so militant, but after watching what went down with COVID and mask and vaccine mandates, I guess I could easily see concern for safety turning into rigid rules.
  6. Why is mom dressed like a bride?
  7. I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. It even had the feel-good of finding Will and Betty a dog-walker who is pretty cute, and in need of care themselves. There are just enough problems with Will to make it intriguing to watch to see if he can start accepting help (i.e., from his 'partner' and others on the force). I like the strings between Angie, Will, Jake, and then between Angie, Will and Paul, because it's intriguing, and I don't want to think about endgames just yet. Show is barely started. LOL. Hopefully they will surprise us. Anytime spent with Will and Betty is time worth spending, in my opinion. I hope the show can keep that light touch going. It's my favorite thing about it for the time being.
  8. I'm always glad to see the show, but this episode really made it difficult for me to suspend my disbelief at times. Brackenreid walking down a dark alley by himself when he knows someone is after him? Not very smart. I loved Murdoch yelling at him, and thought Julia was a little easy on Brackenreid. But maybe that's because I don't much care for Brackenreid a lot of the time. "That's the way of the world, isn't it?" is his go-to so often. Gah. Murdoch, don't you feel bad. You toe that straight line. I've often seen you temper things with mercy, so you keep being you. I have never understood the reasoning behind Mrs. Hart's story, but if things are going to start being revealed, good. Her poor husband though. I know he wasn't a great guy, but after she got him off the drugs, they seemed to be making a go of it. And of course her father witl return. "Sometimes they come back" must be the theme for this season.
  9. Great episode! Henry and Llewellyn were great together. THe only missing piece was George Crabtree, who is on the longest honeymoon ever. I do hope we see Henry's wife sometime this season. And yay! Watts is going to stick around and be a private detective. I really enjoyed this one! Keep it going, show!
  10. I like both versions of the show, U.S. and British, but I LOVE that the actors in the British version play multiple roles. I kept watching the first season of U.S. Ghosts to see if any of the basement ghosts were played by any of the main ghosts, but I guess they decided not to do that in the U.S. version.
  11. I really enjoyed this. Very inventive and fun. I would love a second season. I also love Lily and Astrid Save the World and would like a second season of the one as well, not sure why SYFY shows struggle so.
  12. Wow! Just watched Season 11, episode 17! What a heart-rending beautifully written episode. I hope when Murdoch mysteries returns, it's on a level like this episode.
  13. When I watched this episode (I loved it) I knew that it would not land well with many people. I don't know if that final conversation between Charles and Diana actually took place, but I can well imagine that something like that happened. Very well acted by both actors in that scene. Totally heartbreaking and also showing how irreconcilable they were. Charles wanted Camilla in his life, Diana didn't want to share him. Arrogance on his part in thinking that both Camilla and Diana would be accepting of that treatment, but it appears Camilla did accept it as standard operating procedure for royalty. (BTW, Parker Bowles had numerous extramarital affairs throughout his marriage to Camilla, including with several of Camilla's friends. But that was not highlighted in the series.) Having gone through a divorce myself, it is devastating, especially if you're the party that doesn't want to dissolve the marriage. I think Diana always hoped Charles would come to love her, but she had no idea how to attract him. Loved that they ended with the scenes of THE wedding. As @kassa said above, the entire world adored the match and had such high hopes for the union. Like every marriage that starts out with joy and some apprehensions, this one fizzled in spectacular fashion, AND in front of the entire world. That's why the framing of the episode was so great. All of those other marriages started out hopeful and joyous too, but ended badly. Diana and Charles had to play their marriage out publicly.
  14. This one was pretty good, as was the one before, with all the tests. I'm not sure what's going to happen next episode, but I kind of hope Reginald doesn't make Todd into a vampire. Cast is great!
  15. No new episodes til 2023? Arrrgh! I rewatched an episode yesterday, about a weeping statue of Mary Magdelene. It was excellent! Where has that kind of writing been the last couple of episodes? I have to say, when the full cast is included, the show really shines. Loved Higgins and Crabtree working together, and Higgins declaring his love. Excellent episode.
  16. Finally watched "This Is Gus" and was thoroughly entertained. I thought it was the best of the three movies and well structured. Sometimes the zaniness distracts from the show (in my opinion) but in this movie it was just the right amount. I succumbed to enrolling in yet another streaming service, but got a pretty good deal. 99 cents per month for a whole year. Black Friday special. Sure hope another Psych movie comes out before November 2023. LOL I miss this show and these characters so much. I really hope there is enough interest for a fourth movie!!! 🙏
  17. I liked this episode, but not sure why Maurice is protecting Sarah by revealing the Vampire world to her. I mean, he had to tell her something to make her want to wear the bracelet and test Reginald in that way. Love the story, may have to read the "comics."
  18. I'm truly not enjoying this season as much as last season. This episode, again, was so dark and overly dramatic, no Watts or Crabtree again, and Violet Hart acting like her husband isn't dead. I'm almost out. Where is the joyous show with humor that I loved?
  19. Count me in as someone who enjoyed this very much! I didn't remember the ending, but was beginning to suspect the young man of his brother's death because of him diving into the lake. And I should have been more suspicious of Susan's boss, because, as someone else said earlier in this thread, that actor often plays unreliable people. I enjoyed the author's commentary about the show after each episode. It really enhanced my enjoyment of the storytelling. I remember not liking Moonflower Murders as much, but may reread it as I felt this show fleshed out Susan a bit more and I could start again with a fresher perspective. All of the acting was superb!
  20. What an utterly charming episode. I loved every minute of it. I don't really care how accurate it is, this was a beautifully crafted episode of television and I was mightily entertained. When characters can be drawn as richly as these were in just one hour, it says good things about the writing, direction, and acting. Kudos!!! Alas, this is where I must stop viewing for a bit, as travel and Thanksgiving will consume my attention, but I will be back at it next Friday for sure!
  21. Neither brother knew her birthday, only the daughter did, which is why she kept saying she was closest to mom. I think it was implied that at least the daughter was on strong medication that probably helped keep her docile. If you've been mistreated all your life by someone who is supposed to love and protect you, it's hard to have the strength to pull yourself out of that situation. Count me in as someone who really enjoyed this episode. It was hilarious when Todd found out his sister and older brother were getting together without him. For someone as self-centered as Todd is, that had to be a huge revelation. The three of them sharing a room later that night was adorable. 😁 I imagine the Thanksgiving dinner, and which family will married spouses "should" spend their time with, was triggering for a lot of people. Holiday traditions are very hard to put aside. But I thought the show handled it well, and even Margaret, who was sad that she might be alone on Thanksgiving, was not insisting, she was wistful about it. Even so, she kept on trying to help someone who was in a far worse situation that she was, and in the end, the show rewarded her by having the family "together" for the most part. LOVED IT! Was it cliche? Possibly, but we're getting to know these characters and I for one am enjoying them. I think the sister is excellent, and I'm interested to see if the brother appears more often now. Next episode will tell if they will continue to build character/context or go back to silly stories with no depth.
  22. I agree, and I wonder if the writers are sowing the seeds of marital distress for the characters.
  23. Effie was really annoying at the beginning of the episode. I don't remember the character grating me as much before. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the episode! Thank goodness Watts and George returned!
  24. I've enjoyed previous episodse, but this one took the crazy up a few notches. Who do we trust! :) I'm betting that Sarah's been glamored to kill Reginald but if she's been a hidden vampire killer all along, that's awesome too.
