  1. OR, these interrogations are taking place at much different times? Like a year apart? Most likely it is that the detective is trying to establish that he's sympathetic to their situations in the hope that they'll open up more but I also thought it's possible that the interrogations are not happening at the same time. I'm enjoying the show, I think they are doing a good job of showing how an affair can happen to people who aren't necessarily looking to leave their partners. Or they want "something," not sure what, but don't want to destroy what they already have. Magical thinking, I think it's called. And I'm in the "chemistry" camp because I like the two leads and really have enjoyed the writing in this show.
  2. I liked it. I am falling in love with Clara as the companion this season, whereas her travel with Eleven left me rather cold. I was excited to see Impossible Girl on one of the post it notes and have all kinds of theories about what might happen. I wonder if the phone call we see is the second time through? Mixed in with the first time through? First time Danny dies because he was on the phone, but when we see Clara this time with the post it notes, etc, she's trying to rewrite time, and she says "you're the last person I'll ever say this to" because the deal she struck is that Danny will live but Clara will not. Just rambling timey wimey thoughts. I guess I'm one of the few that hope Danny and Clara survive. I've enjoyed watching Clara's character grow this season, and I have really enjoy Peter Capaldi as the doctor. I'm looking forward to part 2 and will be sad that this season is over and we have to wait for a Christmas show and then almost another year til the next series.
  3. All of this indecision of Clara's this season is reminiscent of Amy's indecision between the Doctor and Rory, at least to me. I thought that story got played out. It seems they are setting up Clara to have to choose between Danny and her "normal" life or continuing adventures with the Doctor. Not sure what that says about how women are viewed. Why can't she have both? If Danny was in Clara's place, with Clara waiting for him to come back from adventures, would it even be a question of choosing?
  4. She splintered in Eleven's timeline and thus was involved in saving all of the previous Doctors. I'm guessing she's not going to be saving this Doctor because she got pulled out of the timeline? So this is the last Clara Oswald incarnation.
  5. I liked this episode, but I'm really sad that Clara lied to the Doctor about it being fine with her boyfriend that she continues traveling with him. I'm pretty sure that means she ends up alone and abandoned by the Doctor AND Danny. Because even though the Doctor lies, nobody else can. Poor Clara. I wonder if she is not the Impossible Girl anymore because Matt Smith's doctor went into his timeline and rescued her?
  6. My favorite doctor is Matt Smith. Until he came on, I would only watch occasionally and couldn't get into David Tennant's doctor. Not sure why, I just never got swept up into the storylines. Until Blink. And I know that that was during Tennant's tenure, but he's really not in the story much. That episode hooked me from the very beginning. And made me want to know more about the Whoverse. Before that, I tried to get into Doctor Who by watching the episode with Donna and Doctor 10 about Agatha Christie with the giant wasp thing and was so completely turned off, I just couldn't make myself watch the show. :P And I have never been able to really enjoy an episode with Donna in it since watching that. The Fires of Pompeii was pretty good, but she seemed to shout too much in most of the episodes for my liking. I guess that means that my favorite companion is Amy Pond and Amy and Rory together. I loved their storyline and was devastated by the ending written for them. I felt that the stories told during the 11/Amy/Rory/River era were more entertaining to me. My one regret was that they didn't meet with Captain Jack Harkness. That would have been fun. I just rewatched The Eleventh Hour and still find it superior to any of the episodes produced with Doctor 12. I like Peter Capaldi, and I'm in for this rest of this season, but so far, I feel the storytelling has not been as strong.
  7. I don't know if it's been mentioned that this is an American version of a Danish TV show? I liked the premise, that marriage takes more than sexual chemistry to make it work, and to prove it, you have to marry someone you just met. We saw that premise working with Jaime and Doug as Jaime was not attracted to him at first, and not so much with Vaughn and Monet who were sexually attracted to each other. Of course, Cortney and Jason felt like they had "lucked out" in looks at least when they first met and I feel built up their attraction to each other as one would do during dating. However, this IS a reality show, so I'm certain that many parts of it were "staged" or scripted to create a certain amount of drama. I was pulling for all of the couples, and I feel like Monet and Vaughn were set up a little to be the ones to fail. I really hated the "villianization" of Vaughn because I thought it was rather heavy handed, and Monet didn't have much empathy for her husband's needs at all. Any need he expressed was an imposition on her. At least that's what the show portrayed. However, both of them probably were not "ready" for the huge commitment marriage is. I will probably watch the next season although the element of surprise for the contestants will be gone I think, and I will probably try to watch the follow up show. I'm interested to see how Cortney and Jason do. I would also be interested in the producers checking in on Vaughn and Monet from time to time. Maybe they will. And I know it's not a popular opinion, but I did like the "experts" as everyone calls them. Every thing they said on the show I felt was a true statement about how to create a successful relationship. I think they were probably very surprised at how unhappy Monet and Vaughn turned out to be.
  8. I was never a fan of the older Doctor Who episodes, I've only come on board with the show since it's reboot in 2005. And even then it took a looooong while for me to get past some of the cartoonish/campy aspects of the show (the Daleks do not scare me in the least). So I cannot comment on how poorly Doctor Who is being written/acted at this particular time. What I can comment on is that I have been thoroughly entertained by Moffat's storytelling and this particular episode charmed me again. I love Danny Pink, and his figuring out that the Doctor's concern about Clara is that Pink is good enough for her. I'm sentimental, so shoot me. Also loved the mention of River and the other mentions of previous generations in other episodes. I loved it all, the watch that can turn you invisible, Clara tap-dancing away like mad to explain to Danny that what he saw was just a play rehearsal, the setting in the school, the teachers' concern for their students safety. Well done! And Danny's speech to Clara at the end reminded me of Rory's speech to the Doctor in Vampires of Venice, about the Doctor being dangerous because he makes people want to impress him. It's rather true. The Doctor's companions do not usually go off into the sunset happily. I've been having a bit of trouble accepting the Doctor's gruffness this regeneration, but apparently he is SUPPOSED to be the Rude doctor. And even as the Rude doctor, I'm still enjoying watching where the story will take us. On board for the season!
  9. Well, I enjoyed this episode, not as much as 'Blink' but close. To me it had some of the same feel as the Blink episode, which is great storytelling. And that had barely any of Tennant in it. Ha ha. I did not mind that Clara ended up being the one that put that dream in the doctor's mind (or did she) or even the speech she gave. I love moments like that between the characters. It has taken me awhile to enjoy the Clara character, but this season I'm really starting to like her. I also enjoyed the awkward first date and I think I'll really like Danny Pink when his character gets going. I'm intrigued by him. I want to find out about Missy and I always enjoy the story arcs. So I guess I'm saying I'm on board. I loved Matt Smith's time as the doctor, and was very sad when it ended. Amy and Rory were great favorites of mine. I never warmed up to Rose or Donna (eesh) but I did like Martha. I enjoyed the story arcs and once the seasons were over, I enjoyed rewatching to see where the clues were dropped in. So far Capaldi's doctor is not living up to my expectations, but I'm sure I'll come around. I usually have to watch episodes twice to get a sense of whether or not I really liked the story. The show is so frenetic that one viewing alone is not enough, I miss too much. Hanging on for the entire season!
  10. I liked the episode. If I have a complaint it is that I couldn't always catch what was being said. Something was off in the balance of sound between dialogue and music. I LOVED Matt Smith's Doctor, and I loved the Ponds and I loved River. I have a difficult time watching anything with Donna in it, and Rose bugged me no end. Martha was okay, if a little lovelorn, but she at least decided to leave the Doctor. I liked Eccleston's doctor and tolerated Tennant's. I never did see the attraction there. So I was really sad when Rory and Amy left and even more sad that Matt decided to go. But in spite of that, I am looking forward to Peter Capaldi's Doctor. I think it will be fantastic. I often have to rewatch episodes before I can decide if I like them or not, and this one was no different. On the second rewatch and the third, i found more and more to like. One of my favorite moments was when the Doctor was trying to tell the dinosaur that he was going to keep her safe and take her home (sadly not true). He said "Hey, big sexy woman! I brought you here by accident, that's mostly how I meet women." Ha ha! Loved that. Not sure why he kept referring to the dinosaur as his lady friend, or big sexy woman, but I guess his gears kept crossing because of the regeneration. I would be sad not to see the Paternoster Gang again, and I am looking forward to more new episodes. I thought this was a pretty good start, although, The Eleventh Hour was better, in my opinion.
