  1. I understand what you're saying here, but I'm not sure how objecting to Nigel's occasional leering or 'creepy' comments has anything to do with age. For me, it's his words and his delivery - and this would hold true had it been any of the younger judges - tWitch included.
  2. The comment about Aquaria was from Cracker - she is consistently hilarious. Totally agree about Asia - she has such a beautiful mug. I really like this season - each of these queens are so talented and likeable in their own right. I wish the best for Blair as well - what an adorable, sweet creature.
  3. I live for Miz Cracker. She is hilarious. I love that she's not showy or loud about it, she doesn't try too hard, she's just funny as shit.
  4. Cade and Dominique were nice bookends to this meh show - they were both really good. Katy is cringe-inducing too often for me. Did these judges really lose their shit over Catie pulling a rubber band out of her hair? GIrl, please. I don't know if I can make it through this season, honestly.
  5. There are some beautiful queens this season - Asia and Yuhua in particular - Yuhua is simply gorgeous in and out of drag. Aquaria was still unlikable, in her flawless & stunning runway makeup - those eyes & tears of blood were to die for - and The Vixen was bang on in her Untucked takedown. I wanted to reach through the tv when Aquaria started with the forced crying. I'm glad we got to hear so much real talk tonight in the workroom and Untucked - powerful stuff.
  6. Right? We moved at lightning speed from "I can't believe you didn't give me the best room since I just got married" to "I can't believe you didn't text me about my divorce...I've suffered so". In a room full of attention-thirsty narcissists, Luanna still manages to wear the crown. She's exhausting, but amusing as hell - aside from that confounding costume & makeup. These women are so ridiculous, and I love them for it. So ready for this season!
  7. Dude. Trixie's singing voice sounds so much like Anthony Rapp / Rent, it's spooky. Cool voice though!
  8. Well, damn. Thorgy is exhausting, but at least she's interesting - i just find Kennedy so dull. I don't know why I've never warmed to her. She seems like a really cool chick to hang with - just boring tv. YMMV. Thorgy gets so weirdly fixated on things she can't control and sets up herself to lose. That said, I actually thought Stevie Nicks was tough to do anything with - much like Katya / Diana last year, so I understood her concern. She also had to sing it 'straight' while others had mini-comedy routines (they didn't write, BTW), which made theirs inherently more entertaining. Shangela's Mariah was hilarious. Trixie's THs are one of the best parts of this season - somehow she's even funnier out of drag. Odd, that. Oh yeah, what the hell is with Milk? She's definitely one queen who's updated her image by returning - not doing herself any favors. Who knew she was such a diva asshole? Is this all Marc Jacobs' fault? I just read elsewhere that Thorgy slapped Bob after the Season 8 finale - what the hell? Yeah, she needed to go. That's too much angst and bitterness for a show dripping in pink glitter and glue-sticked eyebrows.
  9. I want to love Thorgy, but her bitterness and Bob obsession is so weird and unsavory. I agree that the premise of girls voting out each other is less problematic without the Season 5 block, but what I don't like about it is that it still feels manipulated. As in AS2, I'll be interested to see if the lesser of two lip syncs wins, based on whose lipstick they're holding. i just think this 'it's ALL up to the queens' is a little disingenuous, but I could be wrong. Yeah, as others have said - interesting reads on Bendela...so, has she really gone MIA, or is it just because she's stayed exclusively in Seattle? If so, wouldn't she still have connectivity to the queens via Jinxx?
  10. I thought the whole exchange between Kim and Nene about drugs was very interesting - non-verbal cues especially. Not sure what any of it means, but there seemed to be some serious subtext there. Otherwise, yeah, this show has run its course.
  11. Apropos of nothing, I loved hearing Change by John Waite - fun song and super reminiscent of that time. Also loved Cry Little Sister, as mentioned above. The Lost Boys is still one of my favorite 80s films and the soundtrack is a huge part of it. Feldman came off as the protagonist / hero, but that's to be expected as he was EP as well. He's a weird dude, to be sure, but what he and other child stars endured is horrific.
  12. Honestly, I watch this show in spite of Probst, but he does make it harder every season. Devon is adorbs, wish we could hear from the non-Ben contingency.
  13. Wow - the Ben show. But they're totally indifferent about him winning...
  14. Gross. Do not like this final three. Do not like this manipulated ending.
  15. This twist is some overreaching bullshit. I don't care who wins - like none of them particularly (Devon is meh, I guess...), but there's no doubt in my mind this was intended to give Ben one last chance to stay. So sick of the gimmicks.
  16. I still can't believe Moriah's gone and Ashland is still here.
  17. Al Herkimer, I literally laughed out loud.
  18. Evan Overload!! This is my first season of AHS, and it was bonkers for a couple of eps, but pretty darn good. I appreciate Evan - he's done a great job across all of these roles but I did feel, during this last episode, that I was watching that Eddie Murphy joint where he plays all the characters - it was a bit much. Ditto with those who mentioned the chemistry between him and Paulson over the stove - sizzling hot. Those two are such solid, compelling actors. Billie Lourd - not so much.
  19. I loved this series - couldn't stop watching. Fincher is my favorite director, bar none, and he is so good with dark crime procedurals, and with capturing the look and mood of a particular decade. Of course, Zodiac comes to mind here. I think Groff did a really nice job here - started out as a stiff, flatly-affected nerd, and seamlessly evolved into a pseudo self-assured, slightly sleazy, and relatively savvy profiler & interviewer. I really like Tench as well - not familiar with this actor's work, but he feels like a true world-weary cop who's willing and trying to accept new ideas. Good stuff - ready for Season 2!
  20. I dunno guys - I don't see the Tim Save happening. He seems to hate them as much as Zac does. Next week is Cheatgate...yassss! Interesting - many of us thought it would involve the twins, based on previews, but clearly they won't both be there to cheat together. Amy's been pretty solid up until tonight, but dear God was that hideous - shockingly awful.
  21. I love Kenya, but that ensemble was hideous. It looked straight up 80s. I mean, literally, like someone found it in the back of their mom's closet from the 80s. It didn't look modernized to me - the cut of the pants, the waistband, the crazy petally stuff on the shirt, the color, the print - the whole mess gave me flashbacks. Just awful. I could not believe my ears when the judges were talking about how mysterious and chic it was... it was so tacky and dated. YMMV. Yeah, the cheating episode hasn't happened yet - as someone mentioned upthread, I've been impatiently waiting to see Yolanda Hadid show up as the guest judge since that's when it all goes down, according to the preview from the season opener. Shawn is pretty obnoxious with her sister - very entitled to her help, it seems. Claire needs to nip that shit in the bud. They seem really immature for their age - Shawn, in particular. Kentaro is adorbs, and I still love Brandon's stuff - this week wasn't my favorite, but I find his stuff interesting and cool.
  22. I like the solos because they can't be manipulated by production.
  23. Kaylee and Logan. Yes, LOGAN. :( Lex's solo was stunning
  24. I think Chris returned in Jack's (?) place, the talented guy with HIV who got a serious infection in his face / lip. Jury's out on how Brandon will fare going forward, of course, but I think his menswear is awesome. There are a few interesting streetwear designers this season, and the fashion instructor's design tonight was amazing, so I'm intrigued for the season, frankly. I really like Deyonte as well - his print would terrify me normally, but it was so flattering and pretty. I also just like him - seems like a really cool dude. I really like Kenya as well, but wasn't so wowed with her dress - it seemed they were more impressed with the amount and quality of work she accomplished more than the actual design. It was pretty and impressive, but far from original.
