  1. ...moved comments to another thread since off topic...
  2. Qaasim. For Pete's sake - pointing to his eyes, stroking his hair, pulling out the joker card, all in accordance with the lyrics - yikes, and stop it. Add in the stank face, the dropped mike, the hulking around like he owned the joint, and the glaring at the judges (and me!). First off, no. Second, calm the hell down, please. Third, still cannot sing. Honestly, I do not know why I watch this show.
  3. I gotta say, the whole package certainly adds to his appeal - his look, his composure, his unassuming demeanor and the whole 'artistic beyond-his-years' thing, but setting all that aside, I think he's got a hell of a voice - strong & clear, dead-on pitch and most of all, interesting.
  4. Personally, I just don't care anymore. The conspiracy theories were big fun, once upon a time, but the bloom fell all the way off this rose for me. This show used to be my favorite guilty pleasure, but now it's a chore to watch, when I even think to watch it. It's just so bad now, and the talent on The Voice just makes this seem even more Mickey Mouse - and I'm not a gung ho Voice fan either. These Idol yahoos cannot even sing in tune anymore - even the judges seem to be phoning it in...kind of wish the show had gone out while it was still on top.
  5. Oh, 54? Damn, she really looks much younger. I get the comparisons of Vince to Coach, but I really think Coach was half serious, half playing up the crazy, whereas Vince is just that guy. Glad to be rid of the second hand embarrassment I felt watching him...bless his heart.
  6. Nine is a horrible player, but dang she looks great for 51 - if that's really her age. Boy, did she jack that up - it really was in Will's best interest to get rid of Jen...good going Nina! Yay - the peacock is gone, but not without being acknowledged and validated first...everyone wins!
  7. Ooh, really? If it's live, then I predict a Leeza win. Otherwise, I would've said Geraldo. This is pure speculation - no spoilers. Most of the remaining people are ridiculous, for which I am most grateful; the only non-caricatures left are Johnny & Leeza and, on a good day, Vivica. Ugh, gross isn't it? Trump doesn't even try to hide his sexist crap OR his love for Geraldo; even when they were focusing on Geraldo's 'polarizing' political BS, Trump laughs it off 'nah...not Geraldo!' then later 'Geraldo's terrific, so ambitious...blah blah slobbercakes'. The worst part of it is, each week, it's so easy to determine who will leave at the top of the hour - non-buddies, least famous, and least clownish people are his low-hanging fruit. Damon is damn lucky his team won.
  8. I like Don Jr. too, though I did feel a twinge of new found love for Eric when he broke out with an incredulous grin at Kenya proclaiming the Trumps as our First Family. Good grief...Kenya has zero emotional intelligence. Heh - yeah, or what Steph619 & Apprentice79 said... ;)
  9. I often watch this show as aired, so I can't jump the commercials. This means I've been assaulted with this heinous 'fashion' advertised in Logo(?) ads week over week. Has anyone seen these, with the lady suggesting to mix up your fashion while wearing a long-sleeved green tie-dyed looking t-shirt with the nightmarish bedazzled tan vest thing? Oh my god - all of her clothes are genuinely traumatizing. Perfectly matched with this show they're sponsoring, I guess.
  10. Yeah, we're talking about it in the RHoBH thread (which I guess we shouldn't be since it wasn't a tacked on version). Anyhow, it was really puzzling - it looked setup, the way Brandi was sitting there with her glass poised to toss, and I thought she and Jeff seemed very chummy and familiar thru the whole show - you'd see them having sidebar conversations throughout. As I said in the other thread, I thought they were all punking us, and she'd turn around laughing and they'd all break character laughing. Then, she never did and it went on and on beyond the point of awkward. I still think someone was acting- I'm just not sure if it was her only or all three of them. It was kind of fascinating in a totally 'WTF is really going on here?' sort of way.
  11. Yeah, that was so damn weird - I kept thinking she was going to turn around laughing ALONG WITH Jeff & Andy - no one was convincing in that whole mess, yet I'm still not sure if they were punking us for ratings or if she was trying to sell that as real emotion...very befuddling and OTT.
  12. Yeah, Patrick Stump rocks - love his voice...looks like a Software Developer, roars like a lion
  13. Wow - Matt's at #1 on iTunes - Craig at #2, Chris at #6, Damien #10 - good on ya, boys.
  14. Chris's song Velvet is a big ol' 3 minute single entendre.
  15. Yeah, I gotta agree with you peach - though I will throw one more theory on the fire, just for kicks. I do think the producers want to make the most compelling show possible, regardless of how 'fair' the performance order shakes out. Though I do wonder why, in that case, why not place your most 'popular' contestant(s) last? Isn't that the one most people will stay tuned to watch? So, part of me think they might want to make Chris happen - and maybe even wanted Grimmie to happen last year - because they believe they're best positioned, for whatever reasons, to become a credible 'star'. Not because they have a financial stake in the winner's success (such as Idol does), but without the prize meaning something, why even bother with the pretense of a competition? Then it just becomes a showcase of hopeful artists, and the premise, judges, 'battles', etc. become sort of pointless if there's nothing really at stake. To be clear, I don't believe this, necessarily, just tossing it out as a possible motive. What the hell... I dunno - it's fun to speculate on behind the scenes shenanigans... but yeah, I doubt there's intent to favor a specific judge, and if they were to do that - why pick Blake or Adam - only to ensure more lopsided teams in the future (read: BORING) nor do I think they 'bus' people because they just don't like them - I think decisions they make are purely to sustain the show's revenue foothold, ultimately.
  16. I love Pharrell - he was looking especially turtle-y tonight. I do hope he steps away from the oldies soon - they are so over done on these singing shows, aside from Joni Mitchell, I suppose. Apropos of nothing, I realize that Joni is a folk legend, and I can appreciate that Help Me is a very complicated, creative melody, but damn if that song isn't just overwhelmingly unpleasant - the melody has always annoyed the shit outta me. That Elyjuh (good lord) kid really does have such vocal precision - kind of impressive, really - if I listen to him without watching, he's about 10 times better.
  17. Baylor and What's Her Puss are really lucky Rocker didn't play his idol - I couldn't believe they were talking about 'shifting alliances' and 'sticking to the plan' - especially the not-Baylor chick. They knew he likely had an idol and shouldn't tip him off. They're very fortunate he was too dense to read between the lines and play it just to be careful. Or yeah, what KaveDweller said.
  18. I had a hard time appreciating The Help for a number of reasons, and I absolutely detest the whole chocolate pie situation. I realize it was a plot device to protect their anonymity and, sure, Bryce's character had it coming, but I didn't think it was funny or poetic justice - it was nauseating and way beneath Octavia's character. I also thought it changed the whole tone of the film - and the subject matter deserved better than a revolting punchline better suited to whatever bullshit Judd Apatow's cranked out this year.
  19. It seems like there are so many 4 chair turns this season - in season's past it was like big deal and they'd even make comments about 'you were a 4 chair turn...' This year it's more like...'bless his / her heart, they only got some of the judges to turn'.
  20. I know, right? I was thinking "is someone really explaining a Pez dispenser to us right now?" Odd. It looks like many contestants know the score and are picking the hit-making judge - with many artists OTHER than himself, I mean. I can't imagine going with anyone other than Pharrell, unless I was pure country or maybe, I dunno, Ska. Hell, even Gwen is showing some deference to Pharrell. It was amusing to see Adam realizing he's not the only belle of the ball and starting to squirm just a bit. I'd imagine it's a little disconcerting for him to see his charms are more than evenly-matched by Pharrell's resume. I like the energy this season - this may be my favorite line-up of judges. Also, apropos of nothing, Gwen is radiant - she does not age!
  21. Just heard this in a BB podcast, but Ariana's manager, Scooter somebody, is the Executive Producer of </scorpion>. I'm really annoyed I had to type it like that to be accurate...ridiculous. There's another connection between Grande and CBS. I've just been curious this whole time about the Grande push all season - what's in it for CBS (once they found out the ratings weren't affected by her followers, I mean). Why all the talk about her VMA appearance, album 'dropping', etc. So, anyway - more conspiracy fodder which, sadly, is far more entertaining to me this season than the actual season.
  22. Just read something interesting in EW comments - Ariana's album is produced by CBS Interactive. Hmmm.... Also interesting? America's Favorite Player online poll is facilitated by...CBS Interactive. And yes, they can throw out votes at will, according to their terms and conditions. Just a fun tidbit for the conspiracy theorists... ETA - correction...researched this further, and it appears her album label is Republic, owned by UMG, which is affiliated with (subsidiary of) CBS, so not quite as salacious of a smoking gun... I've got to get a life.
  23. Absolutely love the Saarsgard / Shattered Glass reference. I adore that film, and his performance is perfection. Regarding Cage - was Ethan Hawke drunk? Yikes. Frankly, I really liked Cage early on - up thru Leaving Las Vegas, but then he took a weird turn and became insufferable in every way.
