  1. Honestly, I figured he was a goner, because I think he would pose a serious threat. He's not really my cup of tea, but he's a cute, male, country singer, which is dangerous to their 'Kelly bookend' dream.
  2. I feel like we can pretty much pick the top 10 the judges will foist upon us - or I bet we could guess nearly all, with maybe one or two surprises. They show the same 10 people singing every week. Since the judges are picking the top 10 this year (ugh), does that mean we'll have 7 or 8 girls? Or maybe they'll just make sure the 5 guys aren't contenders. The room that went home was so insanely obvious, because most of them we've never seen, let alone heard sing. And it's not a Season 15 episode without at least 5-7 minutes of Tristan. I can't believe we haven't heard Collette (ginger lush) since her audition, but she's still in it, at least. A little variety would've been nice, show. Quit trying to tell me who to like - it never works.
  3. Didn't this show use to have just a little bit of singing on it? I think we got a grand total of 4 minutes of singing - and spent all our time on one, maybe 2 people from each line. For a few of the ones we heard, they we're even showing them talking over the singing 'how they've always wanted this'. God forbid we hear some singing instead of spending 3 minutes on Brenda Starr or showing reruns of people talking about their hopes and dreams (that we just saw a week ago). That was a truly frustrating hour of television. No singing on a singing show!
  4. Oh, good...Nene's back next week, since the thirst is real, and Kenya's gettin turned up like it's 2014. Condescending Kim and She by Sheree are gonna look like saints compared to that shit show.
  5. Can i just say this may be the worst collection of tag lines ever? Half of them don't even make sense.
  6. Redhead - I love your posts, and agree with everything you've said here, aside from Stephen, which...ick.
  7. Oh wow, so he talk-sings other songs too? That drives me batty. You'd think with half as many notes, he'd be able to hit some of them...cute guy, but yikes.
  8. Categorical sexism, characters with thought bubbles over their heads, and the Terminator...? I think I watched the wrong show. Only kidding...I promise. Nice catch on Ed starting / ending in a meat locker. How about the palindrome that Peggy starts 'imprisoned', is completely insane, becomes actualized, is completely insane, and ends in prison? I appreciate the poster upthread who said a Coen brother film adapted for tv should've been a recipe for disaster, yet has been pretty much genius for two full seasons. Also agree that they need to take their time on Season 3 and maintain the level of quality. It was painful waiting for Season 2, and I couldn't imagine how it would be a good as Season 1, much less surpass it as it has. Fingers crossed for Season 3; hope springs eternal. Yeah, I'm with you on this. I liked Mike, but a little of his speechifying went a long way, and the sovereignty diatribe, that whole scene in fact, went on far too long and seemed incongruous with the rest of the episode - I even mentioned upthread about that as the one pacing problem I had last night. I can only guess they wanted to show us his level of righteousness at that point to make his next scene and ultimate fate that much sharper, I dunno... to be fair, not too many people talk in riddles and parables like Malvo either... but yeah, with Mike often ventured into Jules Winnfield territory, and less definitely would've been more.
  9. +1 to all of this. Yeah, I loved the callback to 'deaf fella' and 'deaf fella's partner'. Surprisingly quiet finale, but this whole season has done a great job of taking the unexpected path, so this is no different, really. The only pacing issue I had was the time spent in the Gerherdts' house with Bear's lackey and the kind / cruel business - that seemed unnecessarily lengthy, but minor quibble with an outstanding season of television. Bring on Season 3.
  10. I say this as someone who likes Gwen, on principle, but damn, Leather and Lace was really, really, rough.
  11. I liked the hangman too. I also loved the pillowcase...goddammit. This season has not failed to impress and entertain, every single week. The only thing I didn't like tonight was "...only one more episode before the finale". Too soon. Too soon!!
  12. Oh man, me too - I was watching that scene through my fingers. And we discover Hank is possibly a closet nutters. Can't wait to see what game the butcher's running here. Dude, this show is so, so unbelievably good.
  13. Here's the E! article: http://www.eonline.com/news/713028/brooks-ayers-cancer-treatment-in-question-6-inconsistences-exposed-in-his-medical-documents
  14. She's definitely filled out since her teen years, because yes, she's naturally well endowed. I know this because I've seen Melancholia. Trust.
  15. I actually said aloud "no way...isn't this Children of the Sun?" as it started playing. Perfect. God I love this show - so glad it's back finally. The first 20 minutes were intense and nuts. Yay - can't wait for next eppy already, lots of story to untangle here.
  16. I agree with everything you've said, particularly the bold line. I don't think it's a travesty Steve beat Liz at all - he played as good, if not patently better, a game as she did. I'm simply bummed that in this particular season. we couldn't see a woman take it. Yeah, once we got down to Steve and Liz...hard to fault the jury's decision.
  17. No, you're right...they usually do get to ask a question, I'm almost positive. Gah, the year of the bad ass females, and the white dude will win yet again.
  18. Goddammit, I cannot watch the smug on Austin's mug when he sees Vanessa. Gross
  19. Amen; has it started yet? ...and again, thanks to all the feed watchers doing the heavy-lifting this season...it's been a blast reading these updates and your varying, often hilarious, perspectives.
  20. JMac shows how you exit with class, Austin. Oh, and news alert, Liz is clearly over it already, far from bitter, and bestowing the hotness of 'beast mode'. Enjoy yourself while you can, Judas, the next several weeks are gonna be rough. Heh...great minds, mayziemay
  21. While i liked the cumulative scoring aspect to this episode, my concern is that Face Off is going the way of Project Runway and looking for ways to compress all of their challenges to 1 or 2 days. While it adds variety in the short term, the downside is, over the long haul, it will give far fewer opportunities to see really dazzling, elaborate makeups. Kevon looks like he could be Apolo Ohno's cousin or brother.
  22. I know, right? And that bitch betrayed him, and he would've taken her out sooner but couldn't because she 'positioned herself in a way it was impossible'... plus, what about your final 2 with her - no betrayal when you take Liz? Gah, shut up tool. Yay...he's gone!! ETA - don't even mind so much who wins now...anyone but Austin was my hope.
