  1. It is utterly shocking to me that Elena has completely zero sense of self worth. She is absolutely convinced that she is hideously ugly and worthless. What happened to brainwash her to think this? Elena is honestly super smart, warm hearted and extremely beautiful. If she were to leave that bubble of self doubt and put herself out there, guys would flock to her...quality guys (if there are any in 1962 Italy. I haven't seen a single one on this show). Maybe she is victim of her time and place. She would be quite the catch in 2020 USA. Her appeal may be ahead of her time. Tragic that she "settled" for that dirty old man/creep. If she wanted to "hook up" she could have taken a 20-minute walk to find someone else much more desirable and appropriate. It was good how she told that asshole off when she left. That delusional old fool actually thought he had a future with her, in that moment. He is scum.
  2. I can't stand Upton. I hope she goes to FBI for good. She was always a poor and inferior replacement for Sophia Bush, who is still missed (its good to see her on all the reruns played on the other channels). I really like Rojas and it would be great to see her become prominate with Upton hopefully leaving. She is really attractive and it is good to have one of the officers actually come from the streets of Chicago that they are all patrolling. I think what is happening to Voight is parallel to what happened to Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice. After working years underecover in a difficult job, you saw the toll it took and Sonny as the seasons went on, leading to the difficulties he had at the end. It seems Voight is goint through the same process. Dick Wolf was Executive Producer and writer on Miami Vice for Seasons 3-5.
  3. Interesting to see Voight go off so hard on others who follow on his path of disfunction. I remember him yelling, "You're not me!!" at Pratt a few seasons back (when she was trying to avenge her father's death) and yelled the same to Upton last week. Like he knows deep down that a lot of what he does is horrible, not wanting others to follow in his footsteps, especially a cop he is mentoring.
  4. I watched all three seasons in about ten days. Great show, though there were a lot of improprieties. If Guzman, Samuel and Rebeca were EXPELLED, why are they allowed to stay at the school to repeat their last year (and why would there parents want to keep them there)? Wouldn't the school be reluctant to hire a janitor who was just a student at the school two months earlier? How would Omar be able to attend such an exclusive school (maybe Ander's mother pulled some strings to get him in)? Unfortunately, the three most attractive and interesting characters (Nadia, Lu and Carla) will be gone for Season 4. All three are stunningly beautiful and the characters were such a big part of the show. They will be missed. Lu was such a rotten human being for the first season and 3/4. It was nice to see her transform at the end of the season and to see her and Nadia become close. I guess the parental disowning finally led her to change. Looking forward to Season 4. They are due for some new female characters and it will be interesting to see what happens to all the returners. Unfortunately, with all the crap going on right now, it may be awhile before it returns, if at all.
  5. Why does the rabbi, played by John Turturro, have a southern accent? It seems offputting and strange. Kind of distracting to me whenever he speaks.
  6. I saw a "tabloid" article that put the full blame on Liev Schrieber for the demise of the show. It said that his demand to move the show from Los Angeles to New York (to be with his two sons who live in N.Y.) "ruined" the show and caused it to hemorrhage viewers. While I much prefer the L.A. setting from the show and feel that the New York move wasn't good for the show, I can't blame Liev for putting his family first.
  7. Henry Voight is one of the most interesting and intriguing characters I have seen in a television show. I read that Jason Beghe suffered an accident in 1999 that permenantly changed his voice to the gravely sound he has today. It truly fits the role and gives him a uniqueness and edginess you don't see with any other character. I think that Voight is ABSOLUTELY Lindsey's biological father. Her crazy mother referred to a "night you wish didn't happen" in one of her arguments with Voight. It would be interesting if it came out in a future episode. Sophia Bush is truly missed! Voight is exactly like both Joe Friday and Robert Goren...their ENTIRE LIFE is their job. They have absolutely nothing else. You would never see any of them with a love interest because their obsession with their jobs make them asexual and withdrawn from every other aspect of human life.
  8. Amanda was my all time favorite of Lip's girlfriends. She was also the cutest. I'd love to see her come back, as a post-college young adult. Lip would be a lot more receptive to Amanda now that he's more mature, than he was as a hyper, drunk, immature college student.
  9. I think it would be perfect to have one more final season, ten more episodes. I don't think this is a good stopping point to end the show. I would love to see everyone relocate back to L.A. for a final season. Maybe Boston would be intriguing, but an L.A. return would be great! They all need to leave New York. No one has any reason to stay there at this point.
  10. The Lying Game was a great show that was definitely screwed...very typical conduct by Freeform/ABC Family. They had a lot of great shows that they didn't know how to handle. They are now down to minimal shows and reruns of movies. I really liked this season of Ray Donavan. It was the best since Season 3, which was my all time favorite. The flashback scenes and the look at the earlier lives of the Donavans was very good. Mickey was always a piece of crap as a human. The actor who played young Ray was great and it was good to learn more about Bridget and the circumstances leading to her death. Mickey showed himself to be a cold hearted bastard twice in this episode. Staring blankley while Ray rightfully ripped into him for abandoning his kids to predators. HIs only concern was the case with the papers. And later, ignoring a dying Smitty when he only cared about retrieving the papers which were now worthless. Mickey should die alone and rejected. The final family members he bamboozled finally (should) hate his guts.
  11. Principal Bolan should have been fired at the end of Season 1. Porter was justifiably fired for what he did and Bolan's actions were even worse. Look at all that happened on his watch. His regime was a true fiasco. Plus he is a pompous bureaucrat who only cares about covering his ass/self preservation. He must have really schmoozed the school board to still have his job. For all of Bryce's attempts at "redemption", he sure showed his true colors during Homecoming, proving he was always going to be an evil asshole. I liked Ani, but maybe because I am 54 years old. All of you younger people probably know nosy busy bodies like her in your lives, who irriate the hell out of you! And think about it...Ani wasn't around during Bryce's rape spree, so it's understandable that she would be more sympathetic to him having not seen his evil side. So it was never mentioned HOW Monty died in his cell. Was he murdered? Was it suicide???? Interesting how so many people from the show completely disappeared...Sheri, Courtney, Sky, that idiot who was the former student body president whose name I forgot. All I have read about Season 4 is that it will be the final season. Also actor Gary Sinese will appear as a counselor or therapist who will work closely with Clay. Who's McKay? You have the wrong show. McKay was a character in "Euphoria"...lol.
  12. You make a very good point. You're right. I agree completely. I would really like to see Penelope, Miguel and Pete the Cop return in Season 3, along with some from Season 2 mixed with some new characters. All three of them would definitely be pro resistence.
  13. Smitty is truly an idiot. So is Darryl. They make Connor look like a genius. Darryl's worshiping of Mickey is the ultimate in stupidity. What has it gotten for him? What has Mickey every provided for the guy beyond danger, disrespect and headaches. Dumbass.
  14. What happened to Ben? It looks like he survived, probably walked off and will live to see another purge day. He has become pure evil. Clint is an idiot. I never understood his deal. People die in surgury. Unfortunately it happens. Blaming the doctor for his wife's death and carrying on a vendetta seems ridiculous and crazy.
  15. So that's why Ryan was assisting Esme (which I couldn't figure out for the last couple episodes)...he has the hots for her! Makes sense because she is beautiful, especially in the long hair she had in the flashback and the blonde wig this episode! Now that two of the four storylines have merged(Esme and Ryan), hopefully the other two(Marcus and Ben) will converge as well. I think that would be intriguing for all the stories to converge, as they did in Season 1. I just don't get how Ben has killed, how many, four people off purge and he hasn't even been close to getting in trouble for it? Why? What did Marcus' son do to get "in trouble" with the NFFA? I know he was working with Esme, but it's unclear what he did with her.
  16. Smitty is an idiot. I've never liked the character. I hope Bridget dumps his ass and he leaves. Didn't a young Ray have a girlfriend who died, possibly at his hands, and Mickey took the rap for him? I think I remember a reference to that earlier. I still think Season 3, specifically the last few episodes of Season 3 are the best of the series. Though it's good that Abby the shrew is gone. I do miss the Los Angeles setting. As a resident, it was great to see the geography of L.A. have such a strong presence in the first five seasons.
  17. Chelsea Rendon has joined the cast of Shameless for it's new season on Showtime. She is excellent!
  18. Great to see Chelsea Rendon join the show as Carl's co-worker. She is excellent on the Starz show "Vida".
  19. I would have preferred Fiona to stay and Frank to leave. Tami is a pain in the ass. Nothing against the actress, she is good. It's the character that is awful. My favorite of Lip's girlfriends was Amanda, from when he was in college. I'd love to see her come back.
  20. I don't understand Bill's fetish with Bari Weiss. She comes across to me as an arrogant rich kid who was given her position by wealthy and connected parents and has a condescending, holier-than-though attitude. Very similar to Meghan McCain. Is Bill slowly going through a Dennis Miller-like right wing transition? That would be tragic.
  21. I really hope that Penelope, Miguel and Pete return for Season 2.
  22. Yes, quite pathetic. Even a podunk show like Beat Shazam pays their contestants substancially more (a pair won $1 million a few weeks ago), and that is for an hour of work. It would be quite cold hearted to a huge degree for someone to keep all $100,000 and not split it with their partner. Who would do that? Maybe Kyra of all the people I saw on the show. Whoever would do that would be rightfully crucified by the public. Potted plant Jared had to stand there like a putz during the whole Kyra-Cashel schmaltz. He didn't deserve that. I think of all the people involved, Jared, George, Christin and Katrina were treated most unfairly by the show and were given a raw deal.
  23. I was critical of McKay earlier, but I agree that he is a good guy, overall. I would like to see him stay, but he would probably have to either get back together with Cassie or another girl for that to happen. Remember he is in college and not a classmate to everyone else, so he is a little separated in that respect. What about Troy and Roy? They were kind of portrayed in a cartoonish manner this season, but they have potential. It would be good to see them mature some and pursue something with Rue's sister that has some substance.
  24. Lexi looked amazing this episode! They finally let her dress up. I don't necessarily think she is lesbian. Her feelings for Rue are platonic in my opinion and come from a lifelong bond and friendship between the two. While Lexi is completely dedicated to that friendship and is likely sad and scared that the two are growing apart, Rue is far less invested in the friendship and because of her life circumstances, sees their rift as natural and no big deal. I think Lexi likes guys, but is so painfully shy around them that she is completely intimidated by even the thought of interacting with them. She admires her sister's ease with connecting with guys and probably hates that she is 180 degrees from that. I think this was shown in her choice of Halloween costume. She didn't dress in a sexy outfit for that because the thought of guys approaching her scared her to death, though deep inside she wants that more than anything. Even her Mom ridiculed her about that! Maybe her choice of dress for the Formal was a step in the right direction for Lexi and a sign of progress. I find the dynamic between Nate and Jules to be fascinating. I think they both have a very strong sexual attraction to each other, but that is threatened by strong mixed signals. A big part of Jules hates Nate and is scared of him, yet another side of her ridicules him for being a "pussy". Nate seems to admire Jules' independence and her toughness. He puts her on a pedestal to a certain extent compared to Maddy, who he knows is weak, stupid and someone he can control/manipulate at will. To Nate, Jules is the complete opposite of that. Think about it. Nate has menaced all of his peers and Jules is the only peer to have stood up to him, ridiculed him, and scared him hard (with the knife in episode 1). Yet, most of the time Jules is scared of Nate and surprisingly allowed him to trick her with the "photos". Have you noticed that Rue seems to hate Nate more than Jules does? I think there is some unconscious jealousy there. If it wasn't for Jules deep seated attraction to Nate, she would leave completely and move back to the city for good. She has nothing else in the suburbs to value, certainly not her feelings for Rue.
