  1. I doubt that Meredith would be back, although I saw a video clip of Joy, when asked if she would go back, said "I can be bought". I DVR Meredith's show and FF through the parts I don't enjoy. She does a great interview, if it's someone I'm interested in. I think I am mostly done with The View, although still DVR it just in case.
  2. Interesting comments for sure. I also agree with the point made by galaxy-arena that people are entitled to their religious beliefs but don't try to impose them on the rest of us via legislature. In this country one does not need a religious ceremony to be legally married. A justice of the peace or other similar title can legally marry people with no religion involved. I also don't understand the notion that gay marriage somehow weakens heterosexual marriage. All the gay people in the world that are married now don't have any impact on my personal heterosexual marriage.
  3. "I don't understand why his mother doesn't have a good talk with him. No mother of sons, like myself, wants to lose her boys to the wife's family completely. Sadly, this seems to be apparently happening to me." Well, I don't know how to put this quote in the box. Anyway, being the mother of a son who married a girl I adore, I have always stayed out of their business. I am a daughter in law twice. First mother in law never minced words that I wasn't good enough for her son and questioned every decision he and I made. He wanted less and less to do with her. I was too young to understand that we could have been more accepting, but, she made it very hard. Second mother in law had her issues but I was much nicer about it, and she finally told me she can see her son is happy and that makes her happy. I took a lesson or two from the two of them regarding the kind of mother in law I want to be. Smile and nod. Offer an opinion when asked. Too many horror stories of awful mothers in law. Maybe Cathy thinks her best bet of keeping Derrick close is to accept where he is at right now. I can't imagine sitting my son down for any kind of lecture, etc. no matter how well intentioned. I don't think it would go my way. floridamom, I'm sorry about your situation. It isn't an easy path to navigate.
  4. I didn't think anybody but me was watching Meredith's show! I fast forward through a lot of the games, but, she does know how to do an interview and she can be silly too. And real. I guess the talk shows need something like hot topics, hot headlines, table talk, etc.
  5. Oh dear, not what we were hoping to hear, except for the part that Maisie is doing okay now and back in the care of the real experts. Sending as many positive thoughts as possible to bolster all of you at this trying time. And as itsnotreality says, please do take care of yourself too. You are more help to Maisie if you are as rested and fed as possible.
  6. http://www.adeq.state.ar.us/ftproot/Pub/WebDatabases/PermitsOnline/Air/2278-A-REG315.pdf What in the world is this? I was looking for the address and came upon this.
  7. That's what I posted a while back. I see her longing to be with him and I see him not at the same place, unless his serious responsible side keeps him so restrained. She says things like "He is so good with the children and I'm so attracted to that" and he sort of smiles and nods.
  8. My granddaughter is not an "early riser" but has to get up to go to school. (Even though my daughter in law is a teacher she won't home school). Granddaughter takes a shower at night and gets into clean clothes and sleeps in them and this cuts down on misery in the morning. Even with an early bedtime she doesn't really wake up til mid morning.
  9. http://www.mstarz.com/articles/59257/20150323/jill-duggar-labor-derick-dillard-become-father-minute-now.htm More unconfirmed speculation - including that perhaps Prince Dilly has already arrived.
  10. Yes indeed. I've always had this problem and last night I discovered the CC button on the remote. Adds to the enjoyment immensely. I don't have to keep saying to the Mr. "what did he say?"
  11. Do I remember Regis saying, maybe not on the show, that his "people" negotiated all of that and he was left shocked by the outcome. I think he would have worked for less. I don't know it for sure, but he didn't seem like he wanted to leave. It was a walk across the street and down the block from where he lived, steady easy work, Joy liked him out of the house, etc. Just saying.
  12. I have always gotten the impression that she is way more into him than he is to her. But, maybe it is just his reserved nature.
  13. I always wonder if they say what they think they are supposed to and do what they want to "in private". Jill posted that she was listening to a sermon, but, was she really? Good point about the car.
  14. Mr. Lookeyloo has a sensitivity to cow dairy, but not butter (no protein in it he explains). Anyway, I am famous in our little circle for my mashed potatoes which use some of the potato water and a lot of butter. Very delicious. Two ingredients not counting salt and pepper. Our preference is for white pepper although I know this isn't popular. On holidays it does take some doing to peel 5 lbs of potatoes which serves about 10 people, not all of them adults. So they'd have to peel probably 10 lbs, maybe more since the big boys would probably eat a lot. I don't do the peeling, but delegate this out to the men and they are happy to do it, to get to the mashed part.
  15. That's his way out. Staff does it and he stays "uninvolved". Haha.
  16. http://www.people.com/article/sherri-shepherd-lamar-sally-final-court-date-baby there was also a video of her walking into the courtroom, on another site.
  17. Are those steaks or big slabs of ground beef they are thawing in the skillet?
  18. i'll bet Lindsey Graham's office staff send and receive email
  19. Like Absolom said, we really don't know what was filmed and how it was edited. If we see an hour a week for a while and they film them for many hours, it has to be edited down to what TLC thinks is the most interesting/provocative, etc. I am surely not giving them any passes in the good behavior department. Just that we don't see or hear every single conversation, either in front of or behind the cameras.
  20. Mr Lookeyloo and I enjoyed the show for the most part. Did anyone think Chris H looked like George W Bush when he was wearing the shirt wig and especially when he was doing the southern/western accent?
  21. Oh, well, it isn't 5 years!!! Thanks, Sew Sumi.
  22. I can imagine the thoughts going through your head, Wanderwoman. But, as Micks Picks says, babies are very tough. Lets hope this is just a mere hiccup in precious Maisie's continued journey to going home with nothing that can't be resolved with some time and maybe some therapy.
