  1. New Channel 4 post-WW2 Spy Drama written by Bash Doran, starring Emma Appleton with supporting performances from Michael Stuhlbarg and Keeley Hawes. I really enjoyed it.
  2. I don't know, but I'm glad they got that twist out of the way in Ep. 1. It was obvious that he wasn't going to be her uncle, but I thought they might drag it out a few episodes.
  3. First episode aired tonight. I'm on board.
  4. This was a great time. Probably my favourite animated movie of the year, and up there with Black Panther as the best superhero movie of the year. Loved the animation, especially during the action scenes, of which there are a lot. Some of the plot stuff doesn't completely make sense , but it doesn't matter that much. Similarly, there's probably too many villains, only one of whom has much motivation. I'd have liked a bit more of Noir/Spider-Pig/Peni, but by the time we get through Miles's origin, there's not that much time left for the other characters. They all get some great moments though. I'll definitely watch it again, if only to try to catch all the background jokes (I spotted the Clone High reference, and the Oh, Hello one). Loved the post-credits scene, which manages to be both a "set up the sequel" tease, and a great comedy bit. Though, like Ralph Breaks the Internet, reading the credits while waiting partially spoiled me on what they were going to do. I think it's definitely worth seeing on the big screen, if only because it's the type of super-fast animation that still tends to pixellate a lot when watched on Netflix or iTunes. I'll probably be getting the Blu-ray.
  5. Loved Weitz getting to do the Columbo "One More Thing..." villain reveal speech at the end - Aaron Abrams is a huge Columbo fan, and briefly hosted a Columbo podcast.
  6. I liked that one, but it was definitely one of the scarier episodes I can recall. It’s definitely going to give some kids nightmares. Two episodes in a row without any alien involvement too. So is Chris Noth coming back later in the season? I was surprised they actually mentioned Trump by name; I don’t think they’ve ever used real modern-day politicians before.
  7. Am I right that they already filmed S2? I'd love to get it sooner than a year from now, but that's not likely.
  8. I enjoyed it, though I groaned when I remembered James/Lena was still a thing. I wasn't a huge fan of Brainiac last season, but I thought he worked well here.
  9. Weren't they evicted for having a dog rather than rent?
  10. Conan's starting a podcast next month, Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend: http://art19.com/shows/conan-obrien/episodes/1c49f6b7-6f94-47e1-a0ea-dd0265eb516c
  11. I'm enjoying it, though it's a shame it's going up against Bodyguard on Sunday nights. Hopefully people will find it anyway.
  12. The Trolley Problem won the Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form, beating Black Mirror, Doctor Who, Star Trek Discovery, and a song called The Deep. http://www.thehugoawards.org/hugo-history/2018-hugo-awards/
  13. I really enjoyed this show. It takes a while for the plot to kick in, but I enjoyed spending time with all the characters, so I wasn't that bothered. I did like how it tied the various components together by the end of the season though, and would definitely watch more.
  14. Don Harvey. He hasn't been on this show or Breaking Bad, but he's one of the cops on The Deuce, so someone they had flown in for the role, which they likely wouldn't do if this was the only time we were going to see him.
  15. It was over two years later. You're getting Brokeback Mountain confused with The Dark Knight, which probably doesn't happen that often. :)
  16. No real IMAX near me; just a bigger but not huge screen.
  17. Mission: Impossible - Fallout is a load of fun. Feels a bit slow at times (though there's still loads of good fights and chases throughout), but that's mostly as they save most of the crazy stuff for the third act, which is one of the best third acts I've ever seen in a big-budget action movie. I might go see it again, on a bigger screen.
