Maybe it’s the bitterness talking, but whenever I see SNL do Trump these days, I think of all the episodes where the writers portrayed Biden as senior because that was all they could do and I can’t help but think to myself, “You motherfuckers wanted this to happen.” They and a lot of the late night talk shows contributed to the voter apathy.

While she’s been somewhat more tolerable this season, Marge Simpson is not a character I’d like to hang out with, and I’ll leave it at that.

PBS’ Great Performances aired the 2023 London production of Next to Normal. Oof. That’s an intense show. This may be an unpopular opinion but I can’t really bring myself to sympathize with Diana. Mental illness or not, she seemed more obsessed with the fantasy of Gabe, than she cared for Dan or Natalie. “I love you as much as I can” isn’t exactly a ringing affirmation of love for a daughter that you pretty much had to replace your dead son. And for all her efforts to try and connect with Natalie, it didn’t seem like they were in close contact after she moves back in with her parents; she’s clearly not at Natalie’s birthday at the end. Honestly, Dan and Natalie might be better off without her.

Good for them. I doubt the blacklisting threats will make a difference; plenty of theaters will be happy to work with them.

I wish John Belushi was alive to see the Chicago Pope. So did anybody see the Bidens on The View? Already the clickbait news that helped ratfuck the election are trying to spin stuff he said out of context, but personally I liked that he called out the misogyny Kamala Harris had to go against. It sure was good to see him, I miss having a decent president.

The Glass Castle: Jeannette getting burned making herself hot dogs because her stupid, lazy, selfish mother wanted to paint instead of cook her hungry children a goddamn meal. I know accidents happen and even the best parents can’t keep an eye on their kids all the time, but that was just inexcusable neglect.

Ooh, if this theory turns out to be, I wonder if we’ll get a sort of epilogue scene at the end of the series with her and their child. In fact, I’d love to get a post Rogue One epilogue scene with whoever else survives.

All I can say is that when someone in the Star Wars universe tells you “It’s a trap,” LISTEN. The Ghormans really got played. And I know complicity has consequences, but I can’t find any satisfaction in Syria’s death. All the deaths in this episode were just sad and pointless.

Ha, good one. Actually, I found myself liking her in two episodes in the current season: “Bottle Episode” where she and Smithers make counterfeit wine to scam rich people, and “PS I Hate You” where she told Helen Lovejoy to kiss her ass. See, if we had this Marge instead of the whiny sanctimonious self-martyring bore she’s devolved into over the past several decades, I wouldn’t hate her so much!

I’m sorry but if I hear about Biden’s so-called cognitive decline one more time, I’ll scream, because unlike Trump, at least he never went rambling off in such a tangent that I didn’t understand what the actual fuck he was talking about.

Andor was trending on BluSky this morning, and one post was like, “Why can’t we have Mon Mothma as a politician?” I’m guessing this was probably a person that didn’t vote for Kamala. JFC…

I’d like to say at least that the only upside to Bix leaving Cassian is that she didn’t get fridged, but there are three episodes left, anything can happen. K2!!! Mon Mothma’s speech was her most. badass moment yet. She may have gotten away, only I have a bad feeling about her family…

My sentiments exactly. The original was ridiculous, and I knew this would be more over the top, but I needed a break and the scenery was gorgeous.

This. Even if Xander had voiced his “concerns” in a more tactful manner, it still would have been none of his business. And he had no problems running his own mouth off about how “easy” Cordy supposedly was, so his White Knighting was pure hypocrisy here.

The thing that kept me from despising Joxer on Xena: Warrior Princess the same way I despise Xander Harris was that for all his insufferably obnoxious dumbassery, Joxer lacked the cruel streak that so many other Nice Guy characters have. When he finally did tell Gabrielle he loved her after she came back to life, he was fully aware that she didn’t feel the same way and only wanted to tell her because he realized life was too short to keep hiding his feelings. And he didn’t take the rejection personally, he just accepted things the way they were, and their friendship was stronger for it. So bravo, Joxer, for that moment of maturity.

And yet it rankles that no matter how tactfully Buffy behaved in that scene, some people still defend Xander’s nasty “I guess a guy has to be dead to get with you.” I seem to remember episode earlier in that first season with Buffy going on a date with her very normal schoolmate/crush—which Xander was still a petty dick about!
