Bob's Burgers - General Discussion

I've had a similar problem with earwax as Bob. It took nearly a week to work it out. I had to do the syringe and I bought a special fluid. I swear that thing was like a golf ball coming out.

That was definitely the grossest episode in awhile for me. It was the earwax I think, it was so nasty that I might have actually gagged at the end! Although Linda was sure into it. The one customer who was like "yes, please do that in the apartment" was my MVP. 

I always love Halloween episodes, I love seeing what the kids dress up as, and while I was sad to see Tina with no costume, I loved Gene and Louise's outfits. The Bjorn Identity and Fiona Applesauce! Dream Gene and Louise showing up was fun, Louise and her arms just felt right!

I can't stand the thought of dissecting a fetal pig, so I only half-watched. What I did see was indeed yucky.

Well, the ep wasn't as gross as I expected. The fetal pig stuff didn't bother me, except the retching sounds Tina was making in the dumpster really brought the visuals to life, so to speak.

The only part about the earwax that really grossed me out was when Gene picked it up and was about to eat it. I literally covered my eyes.

Love when Louse is saying who she figures hay rides are for and Gene chimes in with "Or people who like to say, "Heyyyyyyy." The way he said that cracked me up.

Bob: You'll see. You'll all see. When you get old and your body starts to make weird balls of things that fall out of you, I'll be there laughing at YOU.
Linda: Aww, honey. We'll be dead! But we can laugh at them from heaven.

Louise: Haunted by a dead pig. Why does that sound familiar?
Gene: I was haunted by a red wig after I saw 'Annie.'

Linda: You just wait, Bob. I'm gonna get cha.
Bob: Linda, please.
Linda: I'm gonna get cha.
Bob: I'm moving out.

Gene: Well I'll just say it. That pig makes a really cool clutch purse.

I smypathize with Bob. 

had an earwax ball about the size of a small marble fall out of my ear after a marathon 2 hour phone call in the 80's.

I was using one of those ginormous big desk phones where the ear piece basically covered your whole ear.  I guess it warmed up the inside of my ear and sucked out the wax ball when I hung up.

For some reason, whenever they have famous musicians on the show, it sounds fake to me.

With both Cyndi Lauper and Fiona Apple, I thought it sounded like someone doing a Cyndi Lauper/Fiona Apple impression.

Maybe it’s the silly lyrics that makes them sing a bit funnier than usual. “There’s taffy in that butt” must be hard to sing with a straight face or genuine emotion, even for Cyndi.

"I love the mall! It's where the stores live!" I can't believe a story about Tina checking out Mall Dolls hasn't been a thing yet. Karma hit her hard with getting a sleeping boyfriend.

This was also a prime episode for store names. "Bookin' Good" was a great bookstore name. "Doogie Trouser, MD" was probably my favorite pants store, followed by "Mission Himpossible."

It was nice to see the guard from Family Fun Zone again. I needed to hear Triumph The Insult Comic Dog's voice on my TV again.

Andy Daly was PERFECT as an author of mystery novels set in wineries. I'm not shocked that Linda was able to guess the murderer in chapter one. I'd say I'd need to hear the story of her getting diarrhea at a magic show, but I think that's all we needed to know. 

I got a kick out of Bosco trying on skinny jeans with Bob. I needed more of that adventure, and the pants they ended up with were amazing. Honestly, I would've panicked if it turned out that Bob had a smaller pants size than me. 39 sounds about right. "WE'RE GOING TO THE CHAMPAGNE PANTS STORE!" 

I love that they made a whole song out of "they're called pants, not can'ts."

Louise and Gene riding the stuffed animals around the mall was hilarious.  (I had no idea that this was a real thing until I googled it.  I learned a bit of information today that's completely useless to me, but still fun to know.)  

I noticed that Bob was wearing the purple corduroy pants during the end credits.  The big question is, are those also the pants that he would be wearing to the wedding, or an extra pair?

He doesn't seem like the type to have an extra pair, if this episode was anything to go by.

Tina's whole plot was kind of sitcommy. I like Gene, but that was a little much. It was worth Louise's stunt at the end.

I can completely can buy that Linda is some kind of mystery novel savant though.

OMG the Belchers in a mall. Why has this not been a thing before? An episode we didn't know we needed until we saw it. So many punny businesses. Shall We Pants? Cut Me Some Slacks. Bag, You're It. Super Eyes Me. 

I loved Louise and Gene's adventure. They made it super intense but in reality they were going so slow. It was a low velocity, motorized mall animal version of Speed.

Bosco asking Bob if he got divorced because he's buying pants alone. 

I was a little disappointed in the Tina story but it was okay. Usually I love Tina and boy stories. 

All around great episode tho.

I thought Tina's story would be a little more "While You Were Sleeping"ish but I liked it.

I also assumed that Bob's purple curdoroys during the end credits were the final pants he bought. 

Never heard of the mall animals things and am determined to investigate.

I loved Louise trying to covertly find out how to disable the runaway stuffed animal.

I was disappointed in the “Accurate Calendars” store name. Is there some reference I am missing, or was it just some limp-wristed attempt at comedy by being obvious?

Me, too.  The closest I get to my local mall is to park in the parking garage and go directly into the main 'anchor' store.  I get what I need and exit to the garage without going into the mall itself  (which is kind of a shame, since I used to love to go to the mall and poke around in some of the smaller stores).

Have we ever seen the Belchers at the mall?  Wasn't there a Christmas episode that took place at an ice skating rink?  Was that at the mall? (I remember lots of malls having rinks in them.) They should do more mall episodes.  This one was fun.

Loved the Belcher visit to the mall.  Favourite moment was Gene and Louise slowly hurtling towards the porcelain babies store and the sales guy leaping out of the way.

I've seen those in our mall, but I assumed the animals were for sale, not for ride rentals.

I didn't notice that one. I think it's an obvious-type joke. I mean, of course you'd buy accurate calendars. It's a weird name to choose for a store, like, maybe, Hats for Your Head.

Why have we not done the Belchers at the mall before?! It practically writes itself! 

I can totally buy Linda being some kind of mystery novel savant who can figure out the killer after about three sentences! I also love that book being apparently about some kind of conossier who also solved crime, I am sure that there is a mystery series about the same thing.

Tina really got called out for her While You Were Sleeping plot, even though at least she got one over on Tammy and Jocelyn. "I cant believe I kissed an eleven year old."

I've seen the rental animals at malls before, and I have seen kids messing around on them, so seeing what happens when they run amok (or as amok as they possibly can) really cracked me up.

To me, the mall setting seemed a bit too expansive for a bottle episode. For this show, I would consider a bottle episode to be limited to inside the restaurant only, with just the family, except maybe including Teddy and Mort.

A more accurate bottle episode was the one where Bob is glued to the toilet. All the action took place in the bathroom and everyone looking in.

Man, Rudy's cast was stealing all sorts of thunder. It glowed in the dark?! Damn. It was totally like Jocelyn to sign "Rudy" on Rudy's own cast.

It really does suck when nobody is into a fandom as much as you are. I thought the whole story was sweet, and how it related to the Rudy plot. 

"One percent is what I call me wiener." Oh, Gene.

"Is this a Star Shrek movie?!" I love Teddy, but in small doses like this.

I was dying over Rudy's cast in the lunchroom and Zeke wanting to get in on it. Zeke gets amped up over everything.

Someone *needs* to fill us in on how Rudy's backpack caught fire at the Olive Garden.

Louise forging a check is kind of dark for this show.

I also got a big chuckle when Rudy told Louise he'd probably break his arm again since his parents weren't getting rid of the bunk beds and his dad just bought a trampoline.

Jocelyn signing Rudy's name onto Rudy's cast was so hilariously in character. And Linda thinking that Tammy's selfie stick was a ski of some kind. 

I love that Bob and Louise do have their own weird thing, and love their passion for their super niche fandom. I thought how the whole plot played out was really sweet and well done, and I am glad that the other actor got his credit, even if it was long overdue. 

Zeke is always so excited about literally everything! He is so aggressively helpful.

When I was in high school, back in the day, I took 3 years of science just so I could get to zoology class and dissect cats and scored with a pregnant one.  Wooo hooo!

I always watch for these 3 things.  I found the Bob's Burger cookbook at the library and was laughing and cooking.  One of the toppings was tiny diced cukes with shaved radishes and creme fresh.  It is now a dipper at holidays.

"10? At night? What are you, The Lost Boys?" Boy, I felt that so hard. Same with Jen playing Hungry Hungry Hippos alone. And saying she has a hot cousin. And Linda getting mad at the kids spilling her TV watching wine. And Linda's gas station poop.

Teddy got so jealous of Bob & Linda's friends. The friend lives in a loft and makes whiskey, and Teddy is...Teddy.

I love Tina "letting loose" because she's not babysitting. But man, Jen got played by those kids so hard, it's hard to feel bad when Tina takes over again. Putting the kids in an empty ice cream truck was so hilarious, and there was really good animation when it was skidding around.

Of course Gene thinks Encino Man is a documentary. And he was in heaven at Pickles, so many hats. Ms. Labonz at Pickles seems like something the Simpsons would've done.

Bob and Linda at a hipster party was everything I never knew I wanted. With Teddy getting jealous at Bob and Linda making cool new friends, Bob and Linda freaking out about being boring, and their cool new friends saying how their lives are WAY more exciting then their lives. Even with getting body paint that looks like a tiger. 

Tina is letting lose now that she isnt a babysitter for the night! Gene thinking that Encino Man was a documentary might have been my biggest laugh of the night. Or the woman doing the painting of the cool couple in one breath. "Who are these people?!

Awesome ep. 

I completely related to Bob and Linda being averse to going out when it's late. And dark! My bedtime is 9:00. And then near the end when Linda suggests getting together for dinner at 5:00 or 5:30, Maya says, "Like brunch?"

I liked Linda getting the little twigs (rosemary, maybe) stuck in her teeth repeatedly.

But the best part of the ep was with the kids and Jen. Jen is hilarious. Loved the way the kids played her. Loved the animation with the cold puffs of breath.

Another cool bit of animation was how everyone walked, or skated, on the ice.

So I guess Linda didn't make up "Pickles," the male strip club that serves pickles (and they're good), when she lied about going to dinner theater. 

Bob and Linda need to have a talk with Tina about what's appropriate and not and being a sexual predator. I just find her so disgusting when she's perving on an attractive man, especially because her behavior would be condemned if she was a boy.

Nat’s pink limo drove by Pickles in “V for Valentine-detta,” so we’ve seen it on the show before, just not the inside. I laughed that Linda was right — they really do have good pickles, judging by Bob’s reaction.

LOL! I have the memory of a goldfish but “V for Valentine-detta” is one of my favorite episodes, so I have seen it a dozen times and remembered Linda saying, “Ooh, Pickles!”

The Lost Boys joke was brilliant.

Although I have to feel for Bob and Linda. It's not often they do grown up things. Even when the kids are on their adventures, Bob and Linda are kind of hanging around the restaurant, or accompanying the kids.

Biodegradable, edible ukeleles. Of course.

I mad because I couldn't place Ken Marino's voice, and I knew I knew it.

I did like the friends thinking the whole adventure was cool. Actually, Bob and Linda could have just told a story about the kids' adventures like with the goat with 2 butts as the performance. No one would have believed it was real.

Bob definitely loves turkeys more than his family, especially this special one. Can he just get ONE normal Thanksgiving?! Last year was the closest he got to it, right? I got so happy when his turkey turned out okay. I loved that he always said the whole "Riverbrook Lake Farms Heritage Turkey."

"Where's dad? I don't hear any of his dignified high-pitched moaning." Louise definitely has Bob pinned down to a T.

"Guy Fieri is the ferrari of Fieri's."

"The last thing this family's doing is touring the bridges of Madison County!"

"Four or five hours?! We'll be fully grown women by then!"

Gene again had the best one liners.

Loved seeing Mr. Huggins again. They're really bringing back lots of great characters this season.
