I've never seen a full episode of this show -- I'm only familiar with it because Tina Belcher is all over Tumblr -- but it was on at the gym and it was either this or a stupid Food Network show or CNN. And I have to say that I was dying. Working Girl is one of those movies that I stumbled upon when it was on TV in the middle of the night a few years ago, and I completely fell in love with it, so the fact that the show did a whole episode based around it -- while not making the jokes so specific and esoteric that it would mar your experience if you haven't seen the movie -- was heaven to me. I loved that the one girl was specifically Joan Cusack's character, even though they didn't mention it.

Tina's insistence that Katherine and Harrison Ford end up together cracked me up.

"I think they get together in the end."

"No, they don't."

"Well, we all interpret the material differently."

"Yeah, but they really don't."

"Well, comme ci, comme ca."

"Now you're just saying words."

It's a week late, but as promised here is my report from the NYCC panel:

-Started off with a Sizzle reel, capped by Farts Will Set You Free. Of course Tina's groan montage got the biggest reaction.

-Dan Mintz was a no show, but Bobby Tisdale (Zeke) was there. And a 7 foot tall Tina, who kept reacting to everything. It wasn't the same as last year, really.

-One of the questions was if characters could think up merch for other characters. Zeke's idea of Bob merchandise: Birkenstocks for Linda.

-We got clips from upcoming episodes: Linda becomes blonde and pretends to roleplay with Bob, one clip where Bob is painting a nude of the arts & crafts lady, the kids need to pick up some black garlic from a shop called Fig Jam. That's all I'm telling.

-Bob's dad shows up in Xmas ep. Halloween and Thanksgiving episodes are also coming.

-Kristen Schaal's fav episode: The Deepening. H Jon Benjamin's is crawl space. It's also the only episode he's claimed to have seen.

-Next Gene musical, according to Eugene: A-Team: The Musical. I REALLY want to see this one.

-A Jimmy Jr. Cosplayer showed off his smooth dance moves while his girlfriend (dressed as Tina) asked a question (which was preceded by a groan, of course). I was standing with them in line for the panel, they were super cool. There were lots of Bob's Burgers cosplays this year, mostly Tina and Louise. But there were whole Belcher cosplay families this year and that was really awesome to see. We did see a Beefsquatch, but I wasn't able to take a picture of him as he was too far away in line.

-Q if Tina and Louise were named after Tina Louise from Gilligan's Island. Girl was called a "Gilligan's Island Truther" by Eugene.

-John Roberts has trouble making gagging sounds. ("take that as you will")

-update on soundtrack: "we have to put it out," no date yet, but it will come out.

-Question on how do they prepare for crazy scenes: have the cast be together. "Couple of bong hits." Eugene was the MVP of the panel, but everyone was great. H. Jon Benjamin, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal in the same room guaranteed that this panel was gonna be amazing.

-We'll never meet Gene's albino friend. The writers WANT to bring him in, but Loren Bouchard wants people to keep guessing whether he's real or not.

-H. Jon Benjamin's son Judah asked a question. It was as hilariously as awkward as you'd think it would be.

-"H. Rimjob Benjamin" was a weird running gag near the end of the panel. Context came from someone mispronouncing his name.

-They want to bring back the robber from "Hamburger Dinner Theater."

From themarysue.com:

During NYCC I was lucky enough to sit down with the hilarious cast and crew of Bob’s Burgers, including Jon Benjamin (Bob), Kristen Schaal (Louise), John Roberts (Linda), Eugene Mirman (Gene), Larry Murphy (Teddy), Bobby Tisdale (Zeke), and Executive Producer Loren Bouchard. The team was gracious enough to answer questions on everything from the recent Bob’s Burgers porn parody to their musical abilities (or lack thereof), and dropped lots of juicy hints about what to expect from this season.

Exterminator(s): Hugs Not Bugs (relevant to the plot for once), Beetle Kan-Evil.

"What is wrong with the exterminators in our town?!"

Burger(s) of The Day: Texas Chainsaw Massa-Curd Burger, Human Polenta-Pede Burger, (couldn't see the first word) of The Crypt Burger, Paranormal Pepper Jacktivity Burger

I love how Linda's reaction to Tina dating Jeff is for her to get "some clanking chains for the prom." I absolutely loved the whole climax. Tina finally realized that she doesn't always need a boy (for now), while everyone wants Tammy to stop being a horrible jealous girl.

Loved the costumes: Gene was Half Turner/Half Hooch and Louise as Ryan Gosling from Drive.

Loved Gene saying that each stall in the girl's bathroom has a tiny metal mailbox. I also liked that Louise's costume was Ryan Gosling from the major motion picture trailer Drive. Gene's Turner & Hooch costume was good. I wonder if anyone has ever done that IRL.

The actor who voices Linda also does the tall blonde girl at school, right?  If so, I wish he could make the voices a bit more different.  I found it distracting.  Otherwise, fine episode.  Glad to have BB back.

I'm actually glad that Tina put one over on everyone at the end. And I'm glad Bob made the ghost hunters pay for their food.

Zeke cracks me up. He looks like he'd be the typical bully character but he's so not.

This show just does Halloween really well. I myself am partial to Fort Night and am still waiting for Millie to come back (also for Jessica, from Slumber Party)!

One thing I really liked about this episode is how we can really see that the show has settled Louise's character. Where she used to be cruel and completely shameless, in this episode we saw her a soft spot for her siblings (especially Tina). She'll mess with them, but she knows when to stop. I bet if she had told Tina personally the two of them would have ended up pulling that last prank together. I'm still glad Tina did it alone, though. Take that, Jimmy Jr, Mr Dismissive!

I agree. I also liked that they realized Louise had to be messing with Tina. It would have been completely out of character for Louise to just fall for Jeff like everyone else. They still got in a nice twist of having Tammy and Tina run with it. The show managed to have the characters play there expected roles while still having something of a surprise. It all worked for me. Bonus points for having Bob know Louise had to be behind the original prank.

Linda didn't have all that much to do, but I really loved her this week. I realized just how much I missed her (and this show) when she was decorating the diner. She was also amazing supporting Tina and her ghost boyfriend.

"Kales from the Crypt."

I thought this was funny because my initial thought was that a mom wouldn't want her kids around pesticides: "Bobby, is he squirting poison? The kids just got home...and they want to watch."

I loved that Louise (presumably) hadn't seen Drive, just the trailer.

Kales from the Crypt is referencing Tales from the Crypt, '50s comics later turned into an HBO show.

Not for nothing, BB is widely regarded at the least as a good show and a great show at best. I think it's somewhere in the middle, myself. Yet, Fox shoves it into 7.30 during the fall so it's obviously going to be intermittently aired because of baseball/football.

I don't think there's anything wrong with branding your Sunday nights with animation, but it seems like every year or so they fuck around with the format with a shitty show. I don't understand why a good, established show has to get the shaft all the time.

According to the episode guide, this episode aired tonight, not on the 23rd. Odd that they'd save the Thanksgiving episode for the week before Thanksgiving.

Bob becomes Teddy’s workout buddy after finding out his burgers contributed to Teddy’s bad health. The two enroll in a stuntman boot camp where their friendship is put to the test. Meanwhile, the kids make an ice rink in the freezer, with Linda running their underground ice wrestling league.

Neighbor: Gift Rappers: Freestyle Gift Wrapping

Burger(s) of the Day: Romaines of The Day Burger, Sub-Concious Burger (on a sub roll), Parsnips-Vous Francais Burger, Beet-er Late Than Never Burger, Peas and Thank You Burger. Yeah, I loved that Bob's nightmare had its own Burger of The Day.

"I should've put on my higher socks. You guys call them pants."

I like how the show finally addressed Teddy and Mort eating at Bob's Burgers every day. At least Mort usually gets soup (and I think we can actually see him eating the soup on occasion). I really wanted to see more of Teddy in Glengarry Glen Ross.

I love how all the kids got into bed once Bob gets up.

"Oh my god they're doing drugs with each other!" Linda was great in this. The whole Freezer Dome was spectacular. "The losers get stickers. STICKERS OF SHAME!"

After Zeke pushed Tina down, he said something to the effect of "I pushed a girl! And not just because I have feelings for her and don't know how to show it!"

Was Zeke saying he had a thing for Tina, or was he just speaking more generally? I kind of hope it's the former, because that would be amusing.

And:

Louise: We take gym class together. Remember that game of dodgeball?

Rudy: That was humbling.

I <3 Rudy.

That was great. I love that Linda came up with the Freezer Dome, all the costumes, and the championship belt.

I agree that we need more scenes of Teddy in Glengarry Glen Ross.

I love what they did with that moment when Bob tells the stunt camp guys that Teddy's not really his friend. As he's going on and on you just know that Teddy is going to overhear, which is a big cliche. When it is inevitably revealed that Teddy has heard everything, he's standing only a few feet from Bob, and he's on fire. Like Bob wouldn't notice that. Love it.

Oh, and I love the best friend song. Someone transcribe the lyrics please!

It's been said before, but it's great how wacky Linda is, and how she really gets into the kids' schemes.  Freezerdome was brilliant, down to the 80's big hair.  I wanted to see more of the matches, too!

Poor Teddy.  Maybe Bob can start inventing healthier burgers.

I'm surprised he doesn't have other options besides soup. Bob's actually a good cook. I could see him making a veggie burgers or portobello mushroom sandwich. Something like that.

He helps you pee when you got that thing!

The whole thunderdome idea was brilliant.

Bob did try to feed Teddy a veggie burger - Teddy immediately noticed it only tasted "burger-ISH" and cried betrayal.

It seemed to me that Bob just went and got one or just made one for Teddy, like it was his first attempt.

I meant that Bob didn't already have a regular veggie option like he also has the soup and the ice cream machine.

I thought it was awesome when Bob showed up and Mike was just getting tons of ice cream behind the counter. Then when Bob didn't challenge him about it he just shrugged and kept on getting more. :D

I enjoyed that yet again we get to see the famous customer black bathroom.

You know, the first thing I thought whehn Ted tried to sneak a burger in the bathroom was "I wonder if it's still that black design of Fishburn's brother?".

Did Bob get a new one? I recall it being destroyed by the mechanical shark in The Deepening.

No, it's the same one. It still has the dents in it!

"That's weird, usually I'm over there." I loved that so much.

Well this episode was amazing. Hell, this was the best of the three Thanksgiving episodes.

"Okay, don't start a brothel while we're gone!"

"Linda, it's me Teddy! From your town!"

Once again, Fischoeder's brother ruined everything. But Zach Galfinakis and Kevin Kline made a great team, it's really hilarious when they work together.

"I had malaria!" Man, I want to see that story with the Pesto twins. Also, the story of how that guy died on the Tickle Boat especially after we actually saw it.

I loved Bob's little backstory. Rocking out to Donna Summer was one of the best things. You know, Drunk Bob and Regular Archer are eerily similar people. Then again, Archer is drunk like, 24/7.

ETA: Linda: Queen of the Peckers.
