The Coopers help Pastor Jeff through a rough patch in his marriage. Also, Sheldon pressures church members for donations when Mary takes him to work for a day.

Missy and Sheldon were gold this episode!  I love it when they team up.

I'm totally confused about Veronica.  Did she move back home with drunk mom and the abusive boyfriend?

I'm also a little skeeved out by Mary pushing a woman at Pastor Jeff 5 minutes after his wife left him.  Shouldn't he at least file for divorce first?

This episode showed why it's a good idea Connie turned down Dr. Stugis last week.  He doesn't really know the whole person yet.  I wonder if they ran into Ray Liotta in the restaurant?

Missy:  "His wife is so much prettier than he is.  It's like Barbie married a turtle."

I had my first "crock monster" a few months ago.  While it was good, it was basically a glorified ham & cheese sandwich.  I think that Dr.  Sturgis pretty much said the same thing!

Georgie was pretty funny while comparing notes about women with Pastor Jeff.  I still can't believe how much Montana Jordan has grown this past year!  I love the entire cast.  They're all great.

I liked the little smile she got when George admonished Mary that she had eyes too (that if she was being truthful, Pastor Jeff's wife was so much hotter than he is).

I liked Sheldon strong-arming the congregants, but doesn't that mean he stole the ledger from the church?

I didn't like the foreshadowing, with Mary's comment that George was drinking in the morning.

Loved Georgie and the pastor bonding over not understanding women.

I don't particularly like Connie most times, but I especially hated her in the casino scenes.

Sheldon and Missy strong-arming Pastor Jeff's congregation was hilarious, as was Georgie commiserating over women.

I couldn't believe how mean Meemaw was to poor Professor Sturgis. She most definitely has a gambling problem.

George Sr. drinking in the morning? Yeeeahhh, not good.

Georgie showing up to church for moral support was adorable, as was the shared wtf? look between Missy and Sheldon when Pastor Jeff gave Jesus the credit for the uptick in donations.

I'm really curious for the finale. Sheldon crying makes me nervous.

I love that he also ordered one.

Since she knew he hadn't been to a casino, she should have been teaching him how to play instead of leaving him to wander by himself. When I'm with people who don't gamble, I'd rather wander around and do something else than have them just sitting watching me.

But I don't disagree that she might have a problem.

Love love loved Missy and Sheldon's "What? We're not getting credit?" look at the end.

Technically, he probably just borrowed it.  But, I didn't like that at all.

I liked that she told Dr. Sturgis that she needed to apologize, he said yes, you do.  She was beyond rude.  Yes, we've all snapped at someone close to us before, but she clearly as a problem, and the fact that she ended up winning doesn't mean she doesn't.

But did they say they stole the ledger and made all those calls? I got the impression they hadn't, because surely Mary would have punished them.

We saw Sheldon typing the ledger entries into his computer so I'm sure in his mind he was being an efficient executive assistant and was planning to give the floppy disc back to the church, along with the book.  But I'm also pretty sure Mary wasn't asked for permission.  Although Sheldon didn't bring his briefcase to 'work' so Mary should have seen him carrying it home.  Oh well, sitcom!

I was very glad Dr Sturgis is self confident enough not to let Connie off completely when she first found him, but he's unfortunately naive enough about gambling to be distracted by a lobster dinner!

Oh for sure.  In his mind Sheldon was being a conscientious executive assistant who took his work home with him, not a thief.

Same.  Every time we saw the commercial for this episode over the past week ("I'm liking my crock monster!") hubs and I cracked up.  We are simple folk.

The one child they did not send to Meemaw's was Georgie?? Comic gold!!

They thought Georgie was going to be having dinner with one of his friends, (Veronica) so there was no need to send him to Mee Maw. This is one of the things I love about the series. They keep finding different ways to combine/pair-off the characters for subplots. I never would pictured Jeff and Georgie but it worked for the episode.

Missy and Sheldon together were fantastic.

I loved Missy, Sheldon, and Georgie in this episode.  Georgie showing up at church to be there for his pal was a nice moment.

Mary's desperation to get the pastor a new wife before he was even divorced from the other wife was funny, but also sad, and very human.  As much as Mary wanted to be there as a good Christian friend, even she was tired of listening to his problems.

LOL  I just had crock monster as an answer on Quiz Planet. The question asked what do you call a French grilled ham and cheese  I just looked for the answer that looked like crock monster.

Yes! I was saying, "Mary, he's not single, he's still married!" I'd question any Pastor that was ready to jump into a new relationship the day his wife left him (and the cop might like to know that, too).

It's probably good that Dr Sturgis learned of Connie's gambling, and especially what she's like when she's losing.
