I did a little looking yesterday on Shen's son's murder case (probably in jury deliberations starting either yesterday or today) and at her FB page.  She has a photo of all the family members who showed up for the trial (most in ripped jeans or similarly high-class court outfits - way to make your family member look like an upstanding citizen, folks) - but she also spent yesterday in court fending off a restraining order that Ashley and her mother had filed against her! (the order was dismissed because they didn't have all their evidence together, it sounds like; sounds like they don't want her around the baby - in fact, I think that the restraining order they wanted might perhaps have forbid that - and I wouldn't want her around my kids either - at best she's a terrible influence).  So, most of what she had to say on FB yesterday was not about the murder case even though that's supposedly her big focus right now, but about how terrible Ashley & her mother are, and how vindicated she feels about that.  I wonder if all her court matters yesterday took place in the same courthouse!  And then, on the night her son's nearing the verdict in his murder case, she also wants advice from people on how to use snapchat:  " So I may seem pretty duh but can i get some snap chat tips. How often and what so u snap. What things can be done with it."  Jeesh.  Sure, Shen, it's important that you figure out how to use snapchat, for no particular reason other than that you feel you should be on snapchat, right now. 

It's a bit of a messy murder case in that a key witness is a girlfriend who came to the police with his confession to her - but she was mad at him because he was cheating on her with another woman he has a baby with, or something like that, and there was a reward for info, so they're claiming she made it up based on the info that was out there.  Sounds like there's a lot more to back it up, though, just in terms of the connections between the various other characters involved (the other baby momma, her cousin, the guy who was killed), but also, probably not a single reliable witness in the bunch, because they're all messed up people with their own grievances.  T-Roy (Troy) is 30 and has nine prior felony convictions, and perhaps threatened the girlfriend who turned him in to try to get her to not be a witness.  Of course, the family says she's lying, but then again that's their m.o., everybody who's not in their corner is lying.  Shen says she is "pushing 50" so she would have been a teen when she had Troy; I think she said she also has a 7 year old (because she was griping in front of said 7-year-old girl about what other people said in front of said 7-year-old).  And there's another daughter who looks 20-ish who also just had a baby. I don't know if any of her kids have the same fathers but between her last name and Troy's and Bar's, that's at least 3 last names . . . but Williams is a new man she only met in 2015 or 2016 - and they had to redo all his social media because his baby momma shut him out of it (is there just one baby momma, I wonder? - the most recent one who still had some expectations of him, I suppose - in any event she had enough info to hack into his social media accounts and change the passwords on them). Oh my God, what a mess these people are. 

I know that's an incoherent spewing of what I saw online yesterday, but the whole situation is pretty incoherent, so . . . .  Get away, Ashley, get away! I don't care whether you're "better" or not (probably! it'd be hard not to be!), but the child certainly doesn't need additional extremely dysfunctional people in her life, especially not ones who insist on being in the center of everything. 

And now - 15 minutes ago - she's posted a video from some gas station on the road back to Vegas, with her husband and the little girl.  It's a cellphone conversation with some people on the other hand, with a reference to fighting over Coronas. Seems like maybe the 7-year-old is her husband's daughter. No mention of how her son's court case may have come out.  Either not how she would have liked, I guess, or she didn't stick around for the verdict, which is a peculiar choice if she was there for the full trial. Hard to imagine any murder trial being done in just a few hours but maybe the credibility of the girlfriend was no issue at all.

Sorry I'm late but I have a Six Degrees of Separation alert!  Seems Ashley's step-dad is my husband's cousin.   When he said he had a relative on the show my brain immediately went to Shen, but that shows what I think of my husband and his people. 

Anyway, hubby has only met the cousin a time or three and had no useful information.

It's so weird to have a link to my local paper here.  I remember when this case happened, I didn't know all of the facts but to me it sounded like a scorned girlfriend started the ball rolling on this case.

Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant is coming back for a second season, but MTV has decided that one of the show’s star will not return.

The Ashley can exclusively confirm that Lexi Tatman, who has starred on the show since it launched last year, has been booted from the ‘Young and Pregnant’ cast! In addition, The Ashley’s sources tell her that the show’s producers have already found another girl to fill Lexi’s spot!

As The Ashley previously told you, the network renewed the show in late 2018, and most of the girls began filming in December. (The Ashley is not sure if Lexi filmed any footage for Season 2 before MTV decided to discontinue her story.) The Ashley’s sources told her that all of the girls received significant pay raises to appear in Season 2.

The show’s producers decided to keep the show focusing on five girls, so they sought out another young mom to replace Lexi on Season 2.

From what The Ashley has heard, the new girl, Kaya, hails from Virginia has been filming for just a week or two. 

Lexi has remained silent about getting cut from the show. (It’s possible that she is keeping quiet due to terms in her contract, though.) 

The Ashley will update this story when she has more information.

Well, shoot. Lexi was the one I liked most. Did MTV find her life insufficiently fucked up for television?  I don't care about any of the others enough to want to watch, so I suppose I'm out.

^^^^^That's what I'm thinking too.

She actually has goals and career ambitions, and hers is probably the most financially stable of the families on the show. Maybe she and Kyler lulled everyone to sleep with their monotone voices. Or since there were no drugs or police involvement, they weren't bringing the drama. She's probably too level headed for this show, despite her choice of Kyler. Other than that, I really can't see her doing anything to get herself fired from this shitshow, especially considering the behavior and demands they put up with from Jenelle, Amber, and Kail.

Lexi is pretty dull to watch.  She's a very nice young woman, but I don't think she makes for very interesting TV. She is not very animated or expressive.  I don't think its so much that her life lacks drama but that her demeanor is just not very engaging on TV.

but are any of the Teen Moms terribly charismatic?  Personally, I think not...

I was thinking about this last night and Kayla was probably the safest bet. 

Lexi- I don't think she wants another kid. The episode when she visited her friend at college and she realized everything she missed out on made me think she probably won't be having anymore kids anytime soon. 

Brianna- We did see her go to Planned Parenthood so at least was being safe when her and Robert were together. 

Jade- She seems a little smarter then some of the rest of them and I think she knows adding another kid to the mix would be bad, especially with everything she is dealing with between her mom and Sean

Ashley- I feel like with her it could go either way.

I clearly have spent too much time thinking about this.

I'll be a little sad if it's cancelled, tho I'd completely understand why.

I want to see Brayson to continue to successfully manage through with his disability. I want to see Ashley succeed, and, I want to see sassy little Holly. That little girl is everything. I want to see the Beavers struggle through and make something of themselves with the advantages (money) the show provides, tho I have doubts Rachel or Mallory would make good decisions, and I can only hope Stephanie is truly on the right track, but, maybe better living conditions and some educatioin/training for a (better) job? or at least relieve some of the economic stress they are under; they can afford that backup can of formula now.

I'm not really invested in Kayla or Kiaya(?), but like the other Teen Mom shows, I've become "attached" to some of the kids and want to see how they're doing, or in some cases, that they're still alive.

They keep showing commercials on CNN for Shriner's Hospital and there is a kid shown with the exact same condition as Braeson. They don't charge parents anything and help a lot of kids (annoying as the commercials may be). Brianna should get in touch with them. I hope she either has or plans to.

Not being picked up again might be the best thing for these girls.  Look at what's happened to the other TMs who became wealthy without having to work for it.  It stunted their maturity.  Ashley was smart enough to use her money to get an education in the health field, so she's very employable.  Looks like Jade (even though she's not on Y & P anymore) has a salon now?  So she's got something going for her, too.  It's hard to tell what the rest have done, but I suspect a lot of it went to daily living expenses.  Nickel and dimed away probably.  I would worry that Rachel and her family could fall (back) into severe addiction with a lot of money that they don't have to get up in the morning to earn.  One more season wouldn't be bad, especially if they knew this was the last of the money.  They might be more responsible with it if they knew this was going to be it for good.  I do wish them all the best, whatever happens.
