Do you think it could be the bad publicity around the Chloe actress? They don't want to make a figure because of all that?

It could be.  For me, I was looking forward to something that would focus on the character completely separate from the actress.

He was full time in S10 (22 eps) and S9 (20 + 2 episodes with credit only).

S8 he only had 12 episodes but was a series regular for S8-10.

Oops. Fixed it.

I did know he was there from the 8th season but I hate to confess I got the math wrong, lol.

Another crashed wedding perhaps?...

Chris Claremont Returns to the X-Men for Colossus and Kitty’s Wedding
by Tim Adams   February 17, 2018
https://www.cbr.com/x-men-chris-claremont-wedding-special/

Quote

Legendary writer Chris Claremont returns to the X-Men for an all-new story in X-Men Wedding Special #1, a companion one-shot to the Kitty Pryde and Colossus wedding taking place in X-Men Gold #30.

The side story will feature Kitty Pryde, who is marrying her fellow X-Man Colossus in the pages of X-Men Gold, a story being billed as “the wedding of the century.” Writers Kelly Thompson and Marc Guggenheim will also provide stories for the momentous occasion, along with artists Greg Land, Marika Cresta and others not yet announced.

“X-Men weddings are always a big deal, if only because they’re so rare,” Kelly Thompson said in Marvel’s press release. “I think you probably have to go all the way back to X-Men #30 in 1994 – the wedding of Jean Grey and Cyclops – to get a wedding as potentially big as the wedding of Kitty Pryde and Colossus: two X-Men who’ve been around (and on again/off again) for literal decades.”
*  *  *
X-Men Wedding Special #1 is part of the saga playing out in X-Men Gold issues #26-#30, appropriately titled ‘Til Death Do Us Part.” Of course, a wedding in superhero comics is not complete without the threat of villainous wedding crashers, so readers will have to pick up the issues to see if the nuptials are completed without any drama.
*  *  *
X-Men Wedding Special #1, written by Marc Guggenheim, Kelly Thompson and Chris Claremont, with art by Greg Land, Marika Cresta and more, goes on sale May 16.

Funko just released their Pop figures for Smallville. An Oliver figure (when there are already 5 variants of GA) but no Chloe? Ooookay.

On top of bad publicity for Allison Mack, I wonder if it's also a) Green Arrow figures are obviously selling and b) Justin Hartley currently being on a popular show.

Behind the Scenes of the Arrowverse ‘Suit-Up’ Trailer
Posted by Dan Wickline February 17, 2018
https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/02/17/behind-the-scenes-of-the-arrowverse-suit-up-trailer/

Quote

In the previous two years the DCTV had put together the Superhero Fight Club videos, a short video of the heroes of the Arrowverse coming together to spar against each other. The first one featured the heroes and villains of the Flash and Arrow. At that point Supergirl was on CBS and Legends of Tomorrow didn’t start until midseason. The second brought all the heroes together in a ‘danger room’ type setting run by Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). This years video was called “Suit Up” and featured the heroes getting ready for the training session. Two versions were released with the second, an extended version, showing Black Lightning (Cress Williams) at the end.
*  *  *
They have now released a bit of a behind the scenes clip which you can see below followed by the full Suit Up video. We get to see some of the stand-ins for the actors that didn’t appear in the video, but their costume did. We got face shots of Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Flash (Grant Gustin), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Atom (Brandon Routh), Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). But we got doubles for Spartan, Kid Flash, Heatwave, Citizen Steel and Vixen.

The Arrowverse: 7 Photoshop Fancastings That Are Way Better Than What We Got (And 8 That Are Worse)
by Irina Curovic   February 17, 2018
https://www.cbr.com/good-bad-arrowverse-fancastings/

Quote

14. BETTER: CHARLIE HUNNAM AS GREEN ARROW
...
Stephen Amell makes an awesome Green Arrow, make no mistake. Over the years, this Canadian actor has essentially become synonymous with his role, which says a lot about the quality of his performance. Nevertheless, there seem to be quite a few fancasting ideas about who’d make a better Oliver Queen. A popular choice is Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam.

If you’ve ever seen Hunnam, there’s no need to explain why this is a popular concept and why it would probably work. Charlie Hunnam has got everything down from the physique, the blond hair, and, last but not least, the trademark goatee. The actor’s also demonstrated he has the chops for action in movies such as Pacific Rim. With Hunnam’s looks and abilities we have no doubt he’d make a fine Green Arrow, especially now that we’ve seen this amazing edit by Ilvir Safin.
*  *  *
8. BETTER: NATALIE DORMER AS BLACK CANARY
...
The Black Canary problem is something that could have been felt from the very start of Arrow. The show didn’t seem to know what to do with Laurel, besides pining her in a number of love triangles with Oliver. Her transformation into Black Canary was underwhelming, to say the least, and her death felt like a cheap trick to boost the ratings.

But is it possible that the role was simply miscast and that perhaps a different actress would have done a better job? Well, not likely. Although, we’re kind of digging spdrmnkyxxiii’s edit of Natalie Dormer as the Black Canary. While we don’t think Katie Cassidy is to blame for the character’s demise, we wouldn’t mind seeing Dormer in her place. Just for the hell of it.

15. WORSE: TOPHER GRACE AS THE ATOM
14. BETTER: CHARLIE HUNNAM AS GREEN ARROW
13. WORSE: RYAN GOSLING AS GREEN ARROW
12. BETTER: DAN STEVENS AS REVERSE-FLASH
11. WORSE: MATT BARR AS THE FLASH
10. BETTER: MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY AS REVERSE-FLASH
9. WORSE: TOM WELLING AS SUPERMAN
8. BETTER: NATALIE DORMER AS BLACK CANARY
7. WORSE: EMINEM AS CAPTAIN COLD
6. BETTER: YVONNE STRAHOVSKI AS SUPERGIRL
5. WORSE: JOSH HOLLOWAY AS DEATHSTROKE
4. BETTER: NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU AS JOHN CONSTANTINE
3. WORSE: MICHAEL ROSENBAUM AS THE FLASH
2. BETTER: ADAM BRODY AS THE FLASH
1. WORSE: AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON AS THE FLASH

Unlike KC, Natalie Dormer can act so, that automatically makes her a better BC than KC.  Of course given KC's Robot Laurel and Runway Walk/Power Walk and follow the laser pointer "acting"...just about anybody would be better. ?

Charlie Hunnam is fine but, honestly this article is kind of dumb, just pulling years old fan casting from the twitterverse.

Charlie Hunnam seems like too much of a thug to me to be a good Oliver Queen although I'm basing that on his interviews. It seems more like casting for looks than anything else.

A lot of those are just WTH. Yvonne Strahovski is too old to play Supergirl and Matthew McConnaughy  really?

I've seen some of his interviews post Sons of Anarchy and his role in the King Arthur movie (which is way better and more entertaining than it had any right to be IMO) I could see him as an Oliver Queen. Not the one in our Arrow mind you, but in another vehicle.

I was going to see the King Arthur movie but then I saw a couple of interviews that he did and it put me right off him.*  He was talking about how it was time to do an Arthur movie that was without the mythology and just about the fighting. It just seemed so cognitively simple to me that I don't trust him to play a nuanced Oliver Queen. Although he does look the part.

* I hold grudges.  I still haven't warmed to Scarlett Johansson after an interview where she asked why would a man want to be with an older woman when he could be with a twenty year old one.

I thought he was pretty great playing the nuanced aspects of Jax in Sons of Anarchy. That said, I get holding grudges with actors. I do it myself. :)

That movie has tons of magic and mythology in it, some helpfully provided by a female character that doesn’t even get a name, and medieval bullet time? Wat. I’ll spare you all my Guy Ritchie rant.

Also I say this as someone who liked SOA but isn’t comics GA supposed to be a wisecracking sort of guy? I don’t think CH has much comedic chops. Too bad Marvel has 75% of the Chrises locked up and Pine wisely attached himself to Wonder Woman. It seems like comics GA is basically Captain Kirk but with a bow and arrow.

ETA: I don’t know that a serious, brooding GA like DCTV one works in the cinematic universe that already has Batman.

DC movieverse definitely needs a lighter GA than DCTV has, should they put him in the movies. It does not need yet more tortured broodyness.

I've only ever seen CH in SoA. If he can get rid of that thuggish vibe he has in that show, which he hopefully can because he seems to be a pretty good actor, he'd been fine as GA actingwise. I just can't get past his accent work though. I can always tell his American accent is fake. If they want GA to have a British accent they might as well just make a Robin Hood movie.

Deadline report on Black Panther box office numbers:

‘Black Panther’ Continues To Make B.O. History: $195M+ Opening Beats ‘Ultron’ & 4-Day Eyeing $225M+: Sunday Final

Quote

Sunday 8:05AM: Disney is reporting Sunday estimates of $192M over three days for Black Panther and $218M over four. However, Black Panther domination is far from over. Industry estimates believe it’s significantly higher at $195.3M three-day for Marvel’s Black Panther and a $225.7M four-day, and that’s because hourlies are flying off the grid, with some analysts’ four-day projections at $230M. Saturday raked in $65.9M, according to Disney, and their report this morning shows Black Panther as the fifth-highest opening of all-time on the three-day domestic chart after Avengers ($207.4M) and before Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.3M). The Ryan Coogler-directed superhero movie is also beating Ultron‘s four-day take of $204.4M.

I've just seen tentative estimates from Disney suggesting a possible $2 billion at the box office by end March (Black Panther, A Wrinkle in Time), $4 billion by end May (adding in Avengers: Infinity War), and $6.5 billion by end June (adding in Solo and Incredibles 2). That's all assuming a decent take for A Wrinkle in Time as well, but still. I'd say that so far, signs point to Disney being on track for another good year at the box office, even if Solo bombs.

Kevin Feige on the Future of Marvel’s Women (Including Danai, Tessa, Brie, and Michelle)
By  Kyle Buchanan   February 16, 2018
http://www.vulture.com/2018/02/kevin-feige-on-okoye-captain-marvel-and-michelle-pfeiffer.html

Quote

Marvel has remained cagey on which films the studio is readying beyond the fourth Avengers film out next summer, but based on rumors and buzz, the future could be female. Next year will see the release of the first Marvel Studios film to topline a woman — Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson — and the company recently hired a writer to pen a stand-alone Black Widow movie that would star Scarlett Johansson. That’s on top of all the female characters who pop in Black Panther, like Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, and Letitia Wright’s Shuri, as well as recent Marvel Cinematic Universe addition Tessa Thompson, who made a big impression in Thor: Ragnarok and is said to have pressed Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige on the possibility of making a film led by a collection of these breakout actresses.

“It is an embarrassment of riches,” Feige recently told Vulture with a big grin on his face. “Even watching the audience at the Black Panther premiere respond to Lupita, Letitia, and certainly Danai in their action sequences … you watch Danai spinning around in that casino, taking out dozens of people, and you go, ‘Of course you can make a whole movie about that!’”

But when might Marvel pull the trigger on such a project? Thompson’s Valkyrie proved to be a great partner for Thor in Ragnarok, but with that franchise’s star Chris Hemsworth coming to the end of his contract, there’s no guarantee that a fourth Thor film will be made. Is it a studio priority to find another place for Thompson to do her thing?
*  *  *
“It is all about figuring out when and how,” admitted Feige. “But by the way, many of them have already filmed additional scenes in upcoming movies, so some of that is gonna come sooner rather than later. All of them will be seen again.”

In the short term, Feige is likely referring to this May’s Avengers: Infinity War, which finds room for nearly every prominent Marvel character thus far and will include appearances by Gurira, Wright, and Thompson. They’ll be taking on series baddie Thanos (Josh Brolin), who arrives with a crew of his own mo-capped alien henchpeople including the wonderfully named villainess Proxima Midnight. “There are interesting people doing the voices,” of those henchpeople, said Feige. But don’t expect him to reveal exactly who he’s hired just yet, though any actress would be lucky to have “Proxima Midnight” on her IMDb page. “You’ll probably know when you see the movie,” said Feige.
*  *  *
And then there’s Michelle Pfeiffer, who will join Ant-Man and the Wasp as Janet Van Dyne, the long-lost wife of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and mother to Hope (Evangeline Lilly). The character is an enormously important one in the comic books, and Pfeiffer herself has already given us a career-best contribution to the superhero canon with her performance as Catwoman in Batman Returns. That’s a whole lot to live up to, but Feige guarantees that Pfeiffer will deliver.

“I don’t want to say too much, but I will say that’s she’s every bit as iconic and amazing in this part as you would imagine,” he said. “People ask sometimes about movie stars and star power and who’s the most exciting person to be around, and the truth is that once you get to know them as people, they don’t feel like movie stars — everybody is just a super-impressive human. But in a room full of movie stars, Michelle Pfeiffer rises to the top.” Feige recently corralled all of the actors from his films into one big tenth anniversary photo, and it wasn’t Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Pratt who had everyone turning their heads. “You can tell how big Michelle is,” said Feige, “because all the other movie stars are going, ‘Is that Michelle Pfeiffer over there?’”

EXCLUSIVE: Barry Allen Will Face Off Against Hyrax On THE FLASH
Sean Novicki  January 10, 2018
http://thathashtagshow.com/2018/01/exclusive-hyrax-the-flash/

Quote

But the Thinker isn’t the only challenge Barry and the gang are going to be up against. The show’s always gonna need more villains for our heroes to tackle, and here at THS, we have yet another exclusive character breakdown revealing who one of those villains is going to be. This time, the baddy is a deep cut from the Green Arrow comics of the mid ‘90s: Hyrax. Here’s the breakdown:

[VERONICA DALE] Mid 20s-30s. Female, an Environmental Activist (back when she was still sane) turned Animal Liberator turned Domestic Terrorist, who’s the leader of the Eden Corps — a cult-like organization that proposes to turn back the clock to a pre-industrial age — and if millions of innocent people have to die in the process, well, that’s just tough…LARGE PRINCIPAL

This description hews pretty closely to the Veronica Dale, aka Hyrax, of the comics. In the comics, she was also head of the Eden Corps, and also followed a mission of cleansing the Earth of toxic human influence. She attempted to use a bomb called Mutajek 9-9 on Metropolis, which would have destroyed any material containing plastics.

While it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hyrax try and use a similar weapon on The Flash, we can’t really use the comics to make too many predictions about how the show will use her. She appeared in Green Arrow comics, after all, even going so far as to develop a romantic relationship with Oliver Queen when he covertly infiltrated the Eden Corps. Appearing on The Flash instead of Arrow will probably require some alterations to her story.

I feel like when Wally gets on the Waverider, Sara will be like "Sure you can join us Wally, on one condition...you lose that thing on your head. We put up with a lot, but thats just too much".

I know I've said this before, but I really do love how much time is spent with the characters on LoT, and how it can build a whole episode, like tonight's, around character development of its newest member, and the relationships between the characters, while also mixing up pairings. A lot of that is just showing the characters hanging out and doing normal people stuff (doing Laundry, drinking coffee, playing with whip cream) and talking, and just having fun with the characters, who are having fun with each other.

Those weirdos, just, like, really love each other, you know? They have such feelings

I loved the episode and all, but man they faltered on sticking the landing. The moment Gideon actually called what happened a plot device and basically screamed to the audience "This is filler. None of this matters except that Zari now has a lot more feelings towards the team" made me yell at the screen. It was nice how Zari got to feel closer to the team (kind of weird that it has to be knowing stuff that they don't know she knows or knows she experienced but whatever this is LoT it's just asking me to go along with it for the nice scenes) and hopefully opened the door to bring that 2042 plot back in (even though from the plot descriptions it doesn't look like it, this episode made me want it more than Zari's origin episode).

The fun montage was amazing. I laughed out loud at the Hawk mask still being on the Waverider.

Was wondering that too. Since the plot description from the next episode said he's keeping something from the team, I kind of assumed it was about that.

It didn't bother me. The whole plot was character driven and basically a riff on Groundhog Day, and even if it did turn out to be "real", it wouldn't have affected much anyway. They couldn't have the ship blow up and kill everyone, so even if it all really happened, and they managed to save Zari, everyone probably would have just been like "well, another disaster averted" and have gone about their way. Nothing really happened or changed plot wise anyway, it was all about Zari getting to know the team, and seeing everyone interact with each other, and deal with their issues. And with Zari remembering everything, she at least managed to convince her other team members to move on a bit with their latest personal issues, even if it didn't technically happen. So the plot didn't move, but the characters did, and character has always been where LoT shines most anyway.

And they established that Mick does, in fact, spend his free time writing science fiction romance novels on a typewriters, and thats the big take away from all of this.

But Wally was in China!  lol

I wondered about Ray as well.  I kept expecting Ray to show up while she was playing the violin, just someone there to enjoy it.  I tend to feel they underuse Ray.  I did like that in the "timeline" where he and Zari got small, he died pushing her out of the way to save her life and how that then influenced her to be willing to sacrifice her life for the team as well.  I had been worried that Nick was going to hog her attention.

I think Ray's big secret was just the thing about Sara that Constantine told him.

They've really done wonders with Mick from the pretty standard criminal that he was on The Flash. The vision of him in his glasses, pecking out sci fi bodice rippers on his typewriter in that very futuristic time ship is perfect.

I also liked Sara being okay with Zari saving her brother since Zari's past is her future.

My only complaint about the episode (other than hearing Nick and Amaya which made me gag too) is that they're overdoing it on Ray as being a lovable goof.  The guy built up a multi-billion dollar company, I'm ready to have him show some leadership and gravitas.

Oh the fact that it was character driven and filler didn't bother me. It was the show deciding they were going to tell the audience it was filler that bothered me, since I don't really see the harm in having making it real (it would have had the exact same ending, Zari remembering everything and the team just moving on). It was cool that the main things she learned about the team were the things that they needed pushes on to move forward, which is why the episode mostly worked, but literally being told "it was all a dream/simulation" just threw me off.

It was a little self-conscious with "plot device" and "montage", but the episode was so much fun I didn't care. :)  Definitely going on my favorite episodes list.

I didn't mind the simulation time loop since it was Gideon that planned the whole thing to teach Zari about team work. She was basically playing Sims with Zari. Gideon protects the her team and she knows they are all needed to fight Mallus or even more when Mallus takes over Sara.

I didn't mind the simulation aspect. It kept Sara's deaths non-real, gave us direct insight into Zari and Gideon. I consider Gideon her own character. She reminds me of the Machine from Person of Interest. Their do-over and over episode was a simulation as well so that aspect was cool for me. Plus we do see that Gideon knows her team so the insight to each member was true.
