pezgirl7 October 15, 2017 Share October 15, 2017 Quote As Andy confronts the strange incidents taking place on the island, his foster home receives a surprising new addition. Marcus investigates a series of natural disturbances with the help of a local wildlife biologist, while Tomas continues to question the strange visions that led him to Seattle. Meanwhile, Bennett's uneasy partnership with the enigmatic Mouse takes a dark turn. Link to comment
SimoneS October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 (edited) This season is so good and it is giving me the shivers. The people who called Grace as a not real and possibly a demon with Andy as the one vulnerable to possession nailed it! It was confirmed as soon as Grace saw Tomas and Marcus and ran up stairs. It is amazing that Andy isn't acknowledging that something is wrong and how no one has seen him talking to or playing with "Grace" before. I am loving Bennett and Mouse, but I am scared for the both of them as well as Tomas and Marcus. It would be nice to see God send an angel or some other powerful help. Harper is so adorable with her Marcus love. Let me be shallow for a minute. Marcus and Tomas looked sexy as hell on that boat. I can't blame Peter for hitting on Marcus. The actor playing Peter used to be on the soaps. i don't know his name. I really like Rose. She is a good person with a good heart. I was really scared for her when the demon went after her. Andy and Rose were cute kissing. I hope they both survive to be together. Verity has grown on me as well. I hope none of the kids are harmed. Edited October 28, 2017 by SimoneS 11 Link to comment
SoSueMe October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 Nice touch including Grace in some of the group scenes, it had me fooled for a minute til I realized she wasn't interacting with the others and they weren't really aware of her. 10 Link to comment
TobinAlbers October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 Marcus getting some play! And yep the actor that played Peter was Cane on OLTL and a few other ABC soaps :) Rose and Andy were pre Nicole?! Wow that puts a whole new perspective on their relationship. She's got deep history with him so she can actually be an anchor to pull him out of his thrall- which may be why the demon went after her . Verity was amazing with Harper from giving her the true 411 to making that lovely gift that gave her some small measure of control of turning on the light. Truck's not a porn stache but a good stache had me cracking up. Marcus is such a complex beautiful soul. He's scared and lonely and bitter in no longer feeling God's presence but he does and will continue to trust in Tomas. Poor Shelby. The look on his face was a constant 'Y'all not listening! We all gonna die!' Kudos to the show for not prolonging the Grace reveal. Now we can move on to the good stuff. Last but not not least - Maria has been mentioned and we will no doubt see her soon! Woo hoo! 11 Link to comment
Straycat80 October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 Ok so I was wrong about Grace. But what is wrong with Andy? He never mentions Grace to Rose and the other kids. Is Grace controlling him somehow? I wonder if Verity will say something? That scene of Rose in bed and the shadowy figure gave me goosebumps. So scary! I hope Marcus and Tomas stay in that house, they are definitely needed there. 2 Link to comment
pezgirl7 October 21, 2017 Author Share October 21, 2017 Ugh this show is so good! I wish more people were watching it, but it's getting low ratings like last year. The shadowy figure over Rose's bed was super creepy! I thought Grace was a good ghost, but now it seems like she's probably the demon and was just manipulating Andy. I think the kids have noticed him talking or interacting with her, because Verity said they should just let Andy "do his thing" when he got up and left the room. 8 Link to comment

And that's the dilemma/crux they're faced with- has Marcus let the seed of doubt planted in Tomas' head to take root in his? Has God abandoned him because of Tomas being compromised in some way or closing off because this is not the oath he should be following? Marcus mentioned that it had been weeks that he's noticed this difference so maybe the crisis is about his own conflicts and internal demons that are being exacerbated by Tomas' gifts manifesting and pride. What I think it all comes down to is what it always comes down to- faith being tested. Faith in yourself, your fellow man, and mainly in God. Marcus is conflicted about something that is undermining his connection with God. Or maybe God is still there but not in the way Marcus recognizes and is closed off to acknowledging. Will he realize this and keep faith and keep looking and waiting and praying or will he give up (because a part of him wants to be free) and the connection be truly broken (but only on his end)? 6 Link to comment
RedheadZombie October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 I wasn't crazy about the first episode, but I think the second season improves every season. It becomes stronger at the stories are united, and I cannot wait for Bennett to arrive. I was impressed that Marcus and Tomas so quickly picked up on the signs of infestation, but then the picture started shaking in such an obvious way that an atheist would realize something was wrong. Verity was very sweet. Are there two beds in that room? I didn't see one. I'm still not convinced that Rose is bad, but she's done some things that could be interpreted differently. She's covering for Andy, which is nice. But is she covering because she wants to home to stay open for other purposes. She's helping Harper which is great, but she will be the reason Harper is delivered to this house. She told Tomas that Marcus was looking for him, but just happened to interrupt Shelby about to express his suspicions to Tomas. Oh Bennett, you naïve sweet man. Maria-alert! I hope she shows up in that gorgeous red gown from last season. Love interest for Marcus? Finally, the Grace reveal! 2 Link to comment
MrWhyt October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 They really turned Grace's creepyness up to 11 even before the reveal that she wasn't real. Calling Andy "daddy" and making him promise that she'll be his favorite. 7 Link to comment
7isBlue October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 This show! That scene with Rose and the demon is still creeping me out. I know Andy's wife killed herself, but did they have a child? Is this demon taking the form of his dead daughter, or is Grace/ demon-in-training calling him daddy, even though he's not her father? Also, what is it in the trees that Shelby and, now, Marcus and Fr. Tomas are reacting to? Also, I don't understand why Mouse won't kill Delores like she did the cardinal. 1 Link to comment
mertensia October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 I think Mouse is keeping Delores alive to get information. Those looked like spider webs or maybe tent caterpillar tents to me. Marcus, God is talking to you. He is saying "retire, live with Peter and raise Harper". I swear. Once again, kudos to the cinematographer for making ordinary stuff creepy as all get-out. 13 Link to comment

piequinn35 October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 If I see a shadow in my room, I wouldn't find a light but scream so loud the whole island would hear. If Andy knows Grace is not real, what's with that she is scared of something if she is a ghost in Andy's mind. Ghost for now? Demon later? If Andy thinks she is real well wtf nobody else talks to her besides him. 3 Link to comment
saber5055 October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 I know it's to make it more scary, but I wish someone would turn the light on in that house if only to keep me from having a stress-induced heart attack. 3 Link to comment

I suppose it's not this mundane but... it looks like the trees have a gypsy moth infestation.... I suppose I am in the minority but while this is way more intellectual than American Horror Story Cult, it's also getting a little obvious where we are going. Andy is the current target but Tomas is the real focus of the demons. They've out right stated that the demons want to kill or intergrate the exorcists. 1 Link to comment

He thinks he's having tea parties and tucking her into bed. I hope we get an explanation of the circumstance of her appearance, and how long ago it was. There's a specific routine that goes into taking in another foster child. They just don't appear at your door with a bag over their head. As to the others not figuring it out - I just think that's a trick to fake out the audience, a la The Sixth Sense. No one can convince me that Bruce Willis never noticed that the entire world ignored him, until this little boy came into his life. 1 hour ago, ZoloftBlob said: I suppose it's not this mundane but... it looks like the trees have a gypsy moth infestation.... They've made it so obvious that Tomas is the true target, that I'm wondering if it will be Marcus. He commented on not knowing where God is anymore. Plus, if the demons thought Tomas was the more dangerous of the two priests, I don't know why they'd refer to him as the "cub". So either Tomas will come into his own as an exorcist by exorcising Marcus, or Marcus's faith will be renewed by his exorcism of Tomas. But obviously Bennett and Mouse figure into the whole thing. I like the guessing and anticipation. This last episode implies that someone will be "integrated", because Mouse doesn't believe their souls can be saved. So it seems fairly obvious she will be proven wrong. And we haven't even encountered Maria. Since I don't see Maria swanning into the foster home, it would seem that Bennett and Mouse have a separate adventure with her, and maybe she will be the integrated person they will save. I don't see that happening, because Maria sought out her possession and integration, as well as being a Satanist. I will warn the show that what draws me is Marcus. I prepared myself for a priest's death last season because one dies in the original movie, but I'm not prepared to lose Marcus unless the show ends this season. Meaning, I'm not sure I personally would be interested in a third season if Marcus is gone. 3 Link to comment

Good point about Bruce Willis' character in Sixth Sense. 22 minutes ago, RedheadZombie said: I like the guessing and anticipation. I could see Maria and her people heading to the island in pursuit of Marcus and Tomas, but I think that more likely Bennett and Mouse capture her in Chicago and force her to tell them her secrets. She definitely won't be saved because she doesn't want to be. 2 Link to comment
tennisgurl October 22, 2017 Share October 22, 2017 You guys called it! Even though I suspected about Grace, the actual reveal was super creepy. It definitely seems like the demon is interested in Andy. Grace is essentially the creepy salesman who fed the self esteem of poor Casey, but for a fatherly man mourning his dead wife. I wonder if his wife was pregnant when she died? Or if the demon drive her to her death, or possessed her and forced her to kill herself? Either way, its very worrying for Andy and all the kids! Grace saying how she wanted to be with Andy forever and calling him Daddy is now a million times creepier. Oh my God, that shadow! It was like an Exorcist/Slender man crossover! Rose is a million times more composed than I am, because if I saw that coming at me, I would be screaming so loud they could hear me on the mainland. I really like Rose, and it seems like she and Andy have a longer history than I thought. It seemed like they were each others One That Got Away. Maybe the shadow tried to get Rose because she could help pull Andy back during a possession? Verity and Harper were super cute together. Also, my heart was seriously warmed when she ran up to Marcus and gave him a big hug! So the demons are taking the fight to the exorcists? Looks like the demons have their creepy eyes on either Marcus or Tomas, or maybe both. I wonder if Tomas will get possessed, but Marcus will convince the demon to possess him instead to save Tomas? With Marcus thinking that God has left him and Tomas will take his place, he might think its a good trade. I dont want that to happen though! I want poor Marcus to finally find some happiness. Maybe go on a date with the nature guy? Has the poor guy EVER been on a date? I guess when you've been a priest your whole life, there arent a whole lot of options. He has had such a horrible, sad, terrifying life, but he is still such a good person, I just want him to be ok. 5 Link to comment

I don't know if Marcus has ever been on a date, but the way he was mutually checking out that guy in the bar last season, I think he's definitely hooked up in the past. Regarding Marcus sacrificing himself for Tomas, I could see it happening. Marcus seems to be a bit of a tortured soul. Plus, it would be a call back to Father Karras sacrificing himself for Regan. I will only accept this is if Marcus, like Father Karras, immediately seriously harms himself, and is able to give confession before he dies so his soul is not lost. It would surely be heartbreaking. In case there is no season three, they seriously need to make sure Bennett joins the other two before the end. I think they will make sure to end as last season, no cliffhanger. That way we have a satisfying ending of a series if it's not renewed. 3 Link to comment
WearyTraveler October 23, 2017 Share October 23, 2017 I know one shouldn't toot one's own horn, but here's my comment after episode one: On 10/1/2017 at 11:09 PM, WearyTraveler said: I found it strange that no one but Andrew interacted with her, and no one else even mentions her in conversation. Also, as someone else pointed out, everyone left the house to search for Caleb and no one was concerned about leaving a young child home alone in the middle of the night. Something smells fishy with this one. Maybe Andrew lost his wife and his daughter and the little girl is something else (ghost, demon induced hallucination, integrated demon...). I'll have to re-watch the scene where the social worker is looking at the pictures on the wall, to see if there's one of Grace. I knew it!!!! 2 Link to comment
iMonrey October 23, 2017 Share October 23, 2017 Quote I can't blame Peter for hitting on Marcus. So we're in agreement that's what was happening? It did seem like it but I wasn't sure. The story that's taking place in Rome, or at the Vatican, or Belgium, or wherever the hell Father Bennett is, seems like it's on a completely different show and it's boring me. I get very frustrated whenever they switch away from Andy and the kids. I don't know why they don't just focus on that - there's enough story going on there, we don't need anything else. Frozendiva October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 A bit late to the show this season. No idea that it started and have been catching up! Missed the first two eps. My on-demand only has the latest ep. The shadow person reminded me of something you'd see on Paranormal Witness. Some sort of entity. I thought it odd that no one else mentioned Grace. Thought it odd she'd have her eyes closed while going outside in the daylight. Finding the mystery room with rotting and maggot infested sandwiches? Along with the paintings/mirrors? Happy to see Father Bennett around. The creepy Dolores was interesting as someone who has been assimilated. She's in a circle of salt? And saints' bones? Tomas is probably easier to manipulate than Marcus, who seems to be going through a dark night of the soul. 1 Link to comment

ferjy October 28, 2017 Share October 28, 2017 It may have been said already, I’m sure Andy’s wife will appear eventually in some form. Whether in flashbacks or the demon taking her form.
