2017 Tryouts and Training Camp: Candidates Included

My bubble list:

Selina for whatever happened during preseason that got her pulled out of performances that they could still hold grudge for. 

Milan and Simone for weight. 

Allie because I haven't seen her in a dance class (correct me if she has, haven't found a video) and weight too.

I think the little heather will be safe. She's a powerful dancer and seems life's by the squad. Her surprise bday was too cute. maybe Selina Is in the bubble because she just doesn't seem into it and the girls don't seem into her. I know it's hard to judge from social media but it just seems like she is an outcast there. Does it still have to do with what happened with her group this year? Dunno. Then again, every year all vets go on the calendar shoot even know they may not make it back. why allow any vet to go on a calendar shoot if they know ahead of time they wouldn't want her back?

Heather O and Heather H are definitely favorites on the team. They both photograph well and have great personalities. They're definitely not an interview risk. I could see Jessika, Yuko, Selina? just because they're not the most outgoing. Yuko seems loved, but I wonder if she's that good of a dancer that they overlook her lack of English or if she has a great personality and can dance. We'll see.

To be honest about it, I have not been interested in the last group of rookies the last few years. I do like Allie, Maggie, Kelli, and Mandy, but the rest are like "meh" to me.

Btw, I did notice Samantha Fink on the list of girls at Prep Class. Is she related to former DCC Katy Fink? Katy is one of my favorite former DCCs.

Gina Ligi worked with Holly and attended prep class. So many good blondes auditioning this year! It's gonna be a tough one!

I saw that Holly was giving private lessons, I think that's awesome of her.

Hiring herself out to essentially help others make the team. I don't know if that's smart  (because there's definitely a market for it) or foolish (for helping the competition. Not that there's any chance of her getting cut this year)

lol I don't really see it as helping the competition. I'm one of those who would hear about that and go "Aww that's nice of her" instead of "this is such a calculated move"

Meh, she's pretty much a sure thing so I don't see it as foolish. Vets are expected to help rookies when they get into training camp anyway. With as much popularity she has these days I don't blame her.

I say Heather O, because she was on the "bubble" on making the team last year. I really do hope she has improved. Allie will probable make it back if for no other reason that she has been friends with Holly for years.

My guess is that Holly is just capitalizing on her talents. Hiring herself out similar to a personal fitness trainer only as a dance specialist.  She probably has rent and bills to pay!

I think heather o is OK...i'd actually be shocked if she were cut.  Especially with being used recently for that throwback promo(with the 70s hair lol)

Just removed Cami from the list:) I didn't want to until I knew she was confirmed for TCU again 

kyndall hasn't been confirmed. I just listed her because there's been so much speculation 

according to Holly's Insta story, she did a private with Christina (2 time TCC who had bad kicks). Adding her!

Christina was only in TC once. She auditioned the next year but didn't make it back.

Not sure about specifically training camp, but those who come to mind that auditioned several (+2) times and made it - Kelli Q, Kelsey, Sunni Cranfill. I'm sure there are others but it's been awhile.

I thought Sunni tried out for the first time in Season 3, was cut in TC, came back in Season 4 and made the team.

Right, but none of them went to camp three times. If Kyndall auditions and makes camp this year, she'll only be the second girl to make camp three times since MTT has been airing. I wasn't talking about just auditioning.

Chantal auditioned at least once before making it to TC and Stephanie auditioned a lot before making it. You can spot her (with very dark hair) in the crowd and reaction shots in previous seasons.

Thanks!  I couldn't remember who she was either.  I don't think there will be as much talk of nepotism since I'm not sure how many people (other than us) know she's her daughter ... and I can't imagine it playing such a part of the storyline / filming.  They may do a background blip / interview with her on it (it's been my dream since I was a girl because my mom was ... etc etc).  I do think she would have to fall or show up completely out of shape / ill-prepared to not make it though - by default she has an insiders advantage just because Shelly knows how the system works.  Either way, best of luck to her!

Is she going to university in TX now?  I thought she left for school?

Yeah ... chica has no competition!  All the dance instructors seem to love her and she's a great performer and seems all about the team.  Since she's getting paid I don't think she's nice to do it ... I think she's smart as heck.  I'm sure girls pay lots for that extra edge!

Oh fun! I'm excited to see Kelly back. Not sure what her chances are, but I thought she was hilarious her first time through camp. I hope she has a good showing and they give her a chance.

I think her chances are good. She's got 4 years of cheerleader/dancer/ice girl experience behind her. Hope she makes it.

If I remember correctly, when they were asked to say something about themselves, she said she really likes popcorn, then, in Training Camp, they told her that she was all over the place (like popcorn).  Is that it?

Aw yay! I liked her a lot then too and I think she was just so young and inexperienced...I feel like she could really come in strong this time. Fingers crossed!

Hey, everyone! It's been a while since I've been able to post (grad school, incredibly busy!)

We're getting close to my favorite time of the year....auditions!

I am very interested to see how many returning vets make the squad this season. I'm glad to see "popcorn Kelly" is returning. She seemed like a sweet girl, but just needed some technique and life experience. She was 18 during that particular TC, correct?

Rooting for my fav, Kelsey, to come back as a 2nd year vet.

I wish they would do a live stream of the audtions so we at least get to see SOMETHING until MTT starts back up. This is the first year our cable provider dropped CMT from our package. It's only available on premium now, so we no longer have CMT. For the first time in years, I will have to watch MTT as paid episodes online. My husband still doesn't understand why I'm upset about it...LOL

i know Heather with the neon front teeth is a good dancer but I find her grin very distracting. 

Jessika - I couldn't pick her out of a lineup.  If she weren't to return I wouldn't miss her. 

I like Kelsey but I don't know how strong a dancer she is.  If she messes up the interview (they tend to be tougher on vets than potential rookies) or the new dance she could be out.

I like Selina and hope she makes it back; I think Yuko is part of some cosmic outreach plan so she'll be back.

As for any newbies, Kendall needs to up her game if she tries and makes TCC for the third time.  They will really be after her.

The one I hope we don't see is Emily.  I thought last year they sent her mixed messages when they cut her ("come back next year", "your hips turn in and that will take YEARS to correct").

Wow. I've been following her for awhile, since she tried out for DCC the first time. She is definitely a contender in the beauty and "body type" category that K&J like. I hope she has improved on her dance and performance. If she has I would say that she just might make the team.

I truly wish that Lauren Gibler would try out for DCC again. I still think they made a bad decision about letting her go when she tried out the first time. However, I would not blame her if she never tried out again, considering the comments that were made regarding her look. She has retired from the Mavs Dance team but I think she is an amazing dancer. 

Does anyone know if she is thinking about trying out for DCC?

No clue if she is trying out for DCC, but I would like see her try out again. Judy was not happy she did not make TC in Season 5, and I bet dollars to donuts, she was secretly wishing she made TC over a few girls who did make it to TC, but they did not make the team.

I hope Royesha tries out again. She is adorable and with some more training and working on her kicks/jump split, she definitely says DCC to me. I also hoped the one girl from Pittsburgh who tried out in Season 9 would try out again. Yes, she did need a makeover and struggled a little, but I thought she would make a great DCC.

If you are referring to Shannon, she def won't be back.  She's fairly newly married and she's still doing physical therapy for an ankle break she had back in March.  I wish they would have taken a chance on her that year she tried out- she made Cavs a few months after and glammed up a ton for that in no time.  She's a doll.

I used to work with her brother :) We weren't working together still when she was on the show but when it hit me after who she was I asked him about it and he said she was devastated at the time but loved the experience and then ended up being happier that she got to dance for the Cavs when they had such an amazing season.  As they all say, "I know God has a plan...!" ;-D

Thanks, glad to know my memory still somewhat works :)  I guess I'll push my luck...wasn't she also cut from Cavaliers during a year that there was a massive number of veterans cut?

Yup :(  Her brother said that the new director got rid of anyone over a certain age, i think it was like 27 or 28?? but it included some incredible girls, like four year vets.  Shannon had a post about it at the time but deleted.  

Love how beautiful she looks in these tho! (I think her account is public??)
