I love Byrd's expression when Judge Judy said she would swear on Byrd's life.

Was that during the repeat of the disgusting, trashy, parasitic couple, the Carters? (amazing how water truly does always find its own level. The Carters are a perfect match) Mrs. C has PTSD, is totally disabled (yet still able to care for her 1-year old and 3-year old grandchildren) and no upper teeth, and Mr.Carter is a pop-eyed, ferret-y little asshole who works sometimes and gets his disabled wife to bum money from her uncle to buy them food and gas - since they can't afford such things -  yet disabled, toothless wife really needed her "dream car", an ancient POS Caddy and sappy uncle was dumb enough to cough up the dough for it? They may be worse than useless, taking up space and oxygen better utilized by useful creatures like earthworms, yet the Carters know how to breed!

I never saw Mr. Erich Miller(I think it was Miller) he of the twinkling diamond earring, nice suit, smarmy grin, huge ego and no credit. Another silly woman giving a leech/con artitst a credit card to use and - suprise! He abused that privilege. So egotistical (or sociopathic) is Erich he thought it was amusing when JJ informed him what a fool he was making of himself. He never saw a credit card! He never had a credit card belonging to plainitff! So stupid is he that he couldn't find or recognize his own name on the CC bill. Ladies, if your man hasn't got two nickels to rub together and can't even get a credit card with the most minimal limit on it of his own - do not give him yours! There's a very good reason he's broke and credit-less at a mature age and it doesn't bode well for your bank account. Plaintiff? You can do better than this hustler.

Didn't Mrs. Carter, the toothless wonder, also say that she was on Zoloft to "keep my mood up"?

I missed that. Does Zoloft come in "industrial strength"? If I were totally disabled and my hubby-boo was such a big ol' loser I had to scrounge money from my elderly uncle, I think I might ask him to buy me some teeth, rather than an old POS Caddy, but that's just me.

I guess JJ's bazillion dollar contract says she can just happyass in anytime and film new cases.  My DVR says there are 6 new episodes next week and only one mentions dogs.

Yes, I think she's losing it and making decisions on info we apparently are not privy to.  Yes, she is ruling on mechanical & tech stuff that are way beyond her grasp.   But...  I'll overlook anything that puts AngelaHunter ,Brattinella, ToasterStrudel back on my daily screen.

I may need to stop watching this show. JJ's drive to humiliate people by bringing up issues that have nothing to do with the case at hand is just too mean-spirited. I understand that many of the people who appear before her are yokels, but if the cases are so boring that JJ needs to create drama by being a know-it-all shit stirrer every episode, maybe it's time to pull the plug. I could see her being a perfect fit as a political commentator on a certain cable news network.

Todays new episode starts out with very large mother suing very large (truck driver) daughter for "loans". All I can say is, WTF is with women and ugly tattoos? And she (the daughter) actually has  a boyfriend. Thankfully we were spared the sight of the guy who can't do better than said "macho tatted truck driver"

My mom always said, "When I have money, we all have money" and I've done the same with my kids.  We've never been loaded by any means, but if there's any kind of windfall, it's always been shared.  (That includes the time when my daughter was with a guy I didn't like.)

Sometimes the gift was wasted but it felt good to give it, to be able to help family.  I realize everyone doesn't feel this way, and if I'd ever felt taken advantage of, I might change my mind.  But today's mom had a daughter who -- for the most part -- worked hard and took care of herself.  She comes away with over a million and sues for return of $5K?  Nah.

The dad in the motorcycle case must never have watched the show, or he'd know what JJ does with undeserving people on disability.  Racing motorcycles can't be easy.  If he can do that, he can work.  Although I suppose they don't race very day.  If it's an hour on a weekend, maybe I could see it.

I'm being too nice today.

I may be wrong, but a debt is a debt. And I don't know, but daughter may have come sniffing around after mom got her settlement (we've seen it hundreds of times on JJ). Plus the daughter felt her mother had some kind of beef about the boyfriend (Didn't have anything to do with not paying his child support but, noooooooo, he's BLAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKK). Big old tatted daughter seemed to have an attitude about her.

That motorcycle man with the disability ruffled my feathers as well. That's worse than the guy they had here on the local news who blew out his back and was seen carrying large boxes and going to the gym.

Auntie Pam, our Auntie Pam at work made a yummy pineapple upside down cake. Do you bake? Can you bake me a cake and I'll babysit your grandkids for the weekend AND get you a cell phone on my plan. I pay for 2 lines and get 26 lines for free - in fact, anybody who brings me home baked goods gets a cell phone. . .

That made me so angry I'm getting indigestion from my nachos. My mother died of colon cancer, and believe me - a year after diagnosis (and surgery and radiation and chemo) she was not in any condition to buy or race motorcycles. Yes, if you have a catastrophic illness, what you should do with your big lump sum disability payment from Byrd is buy a motorcycle. Going from place to place and sponging off people can be a drag, you know, so he deserves some fun! Loved that plaintiff's other son is also totally disabled. Who has time to work when you need to travel around to the motorcyle races? People - you better get second jobs to help Byrd support this legion of the disabled and also set aside money in case you ever really need it, because at this rate, the government is going to go broke and you'll be on your own.

Then we had bug-eyed, shifty little so-called handy man,(and his witness with eyes like freaked-out blue lasers) who is perfectly able to remodel a bathroom (for 650$??) except he has no tile cutter of his own??? You can't remodel a bathroom without a tile cutter. WTF, even I have a tile cutter and I'm not in construction work. He couldn't possibly do the work plaintiff paid him for because he had a hernia or something and wasn't feeling well for months and months, so he decided to keep her money and the tile cutter because plantiff said some bad things about him to his daddy.

Last year I had my kitchen refaced and main bathroom redone. I went through Home Depot and used their contractors who are licensed and bonded and thoroughly checked out. They cost more than some dipstick unlicensed "handy man" but I could sleep at night knowing I wouldn't be ripped off by some silly bozo with a hernia. "You get what you pay for" will never not be relevant.

I used contractors through Lowe's to install new carpeting, they were professional and did great work. My dad felt I paid too much and I should have looked for a handyman to do it cheaper. See, he had a handyman install a skylight years ago, that thing leaked every time there was a sprinkle, it cost triple the amount of money to get it fixed than what they paid to install it and yet he still thinks the cheaper route is the way to go.  I love the man but he doesn't just doesn't understand when you buy cheap, you get cheap.

Arrrrr, just watched stucco contractor. Dude is one of those who excuse poor workmanship by saying "customer wanted it - I knew it wouldn't work - but took the money anyway." Oh yeah, like the mechanics who are happy to charge top dollar to replace/repair an old clunker knowing something else will tank within a few hundred miles. Anyway, here I was thinking dude was about the lowest type of contractor, then during the hallterview dude mentions house was old and had lead paint. Huh? Didn't we see his employee removing the faulty stucco with a garden hose? Yep, my opinion of dude took another hit while he was trying to blame the customer - he heard none of JJ statement about what an honorable contractor would do.

Oh my, motorcycle racing family! Soon as dude said he was on disability I knew where this was headed. Ah, but whole family must keep lawyers busy. P and witness son both have their disability lawyer, and didn't D son say something about a settlement for being run over? Anyway, here's another case where my low opinion went even lower during hallterview. Here pops tells the world the reason he put the bike in D son's name was to scam sonny boy's employer by buying the bike using son's employee discount.

Yes, I think when they say "disability" they mean Social Security Disability.  Payment amount is tied to earnings.  There may also be taxpayer-funded disability via Medicaid for people who don't have enough work history but who need financial support.

They have to do great work or Lowe's/Home Depot will drop them. The contractors were impeccable, work was great and of course guaranteed, done on time, and they cleaned up everything. The company owner even swept out my garage before he left! I do have a handyman I've used many times and would have trusted him with this job, but he's so good, so trustworthy and so cheap he's rarely available.

Wow. I missed that. They know every angle to squeeze every free penny, don't they? I wonder if whoever is paying his disability (gov or employers) know that being totally disabled hasn't stopped him from not just riding, but racing motorcyles?

I had no empathy at all for the truck driver lady. She was a loser/scammer/abuser of the domestic system, I don't care how many jobs/hours she works. Added her to my top five list of most unliked litigant.

Agree. Hated her. Hated her smirking, which she oh-so-wrongfully thought was winsome, the tats she chose to display on her massive arms,  and her mealy-mouthed excuses. "Oh, Mom is a horrible, racist person (which didn't stop me from taking money from her) who dislikes my boyfriend (I wish we could have seen him) because he's black!" That's right. Her dislike has nothing to do with the fact that he's violent and an abuser who doesn't support his own kids, I'm sure. "Yes, he was arrested for abuse, but the charges were dropped - oh, well yeah - BY ME!" That means he's innocent I guess. Oh, no. It doesn't. It just means def.  - like the enless parade of pathetic women we see here - is so desperate for a warm body she'll put up with anything. Pay your own bills, you burly beast. You're surely big enough and old enough to do so. Yeah, why should your mom pay your deadbeat, scumbag boyfriend's child support, you cretin? I don't care if mom has a billion dollars.

I actually felt a little sorry for her, that an ancient Cadillac was her "dream car". I can't even imagine being that poor and resigned.

I did find the news article about her son who was killed by a train. For some strange reason, I thought he was a little boy who was walking along the tracks. He was, actually, a man in his young 20s who was (from what I understood) a passenger in a car that decided to "go around" the arms and got hit. I am a little surprised that she didn't get money from the driver's insurance, but maybe she did and forgot about buying her dream car with it?

Anyway, she didn't actually witness her child being hit by a train, so PTSS is an iffy diagnosis. Generally, that results from survivor guilt and/or witnessing something very traumatic. The train engineer more likely had PTSS than she did.

Yes and no. There is SSI, for disabled people who did not work at least 40 quarters (so ten years) in their lives, and Social Security Disability (SSDI) for people who did. BOTH are funded by the Social Security administration, so technically, Byrd's taxes.

There's an unwritten "JJ Appearance Law", or so it seems: The more massive your arms (and holy shit - these were whoppers on someone so young!) the skimpier your outfit. Make it low-cut and sleeveless! Spare us nothing! Fucking dimwits - Dopey Anthony and his "fiance" (yeah, right) she of the ham hock arms was unable to answer any question directly and both of them seem to think it's cute or amusing that her kids (No, Anthony, they are NOT your kids, but the offspring of your girlfriend) smash windows and kick in doors during "temper tantrums".

Then we had Shatima, who seemed to feel that JJ's castigation of her darling boy who is 17( and has been arrested at least twice) and looked 30 was a reason for eye-rolling. Shatima should maybe spend less time and money getting her arm (that we could see) covered in huge tats and more time checking out what her hell-spawn is up to.

JJ asks plaintiff, whose motorcyle was stolen by Shatima's snowflake, how many times he's been arrested. She was truly expecting him to say "None" but his smile and casual, "Oh, A few times," (maybe he never kept count) prompted a shocked and disgusted,  "OH MY GAWD!" from her. If I had ever been arrested, even once, I guarantee I wouldn't smile as I related that fact, especially on national TeeVee. OH MY GAWD indeed.

@AngelaHunter. Our lovely litigants just happyass along acting as if multiple arrests, living on the dole, banging into hard-working folks while having insurance that "lapped" just HOURS before is just f-ing normal.

Squatting out little loin droppings "by accident" as if they were immaculate conceptions.  That, by the way happen to increase the monthly Byrd Check.

"Disabled" apparently means "I get a check because life happened".

Can't pay rent, insurance or utility bills?  Of course not, those things are waaaay down on the priority list.  Much more to spend Byrd's check on-  Tats, rims, flat screens, designer bags, Xboxes, $900. cell phones, weaves, nails,  and bail for baby mama exboyfriend who happens to be the Godneighbor's fiance.

I used to look down on house gowns but after a recent stint in assisted living (aka nursing home) after an accident, I'm a fan.   Pockets!  Open in the front!  I just wish the fabrics and styles were more attractive.  All the ones I had were something my grandma would wear.  Well, no, actually she wouldn't.  They would have been too gaudy even for her.

Today's landlord-tenant case was fun.  I'm sure Tara the wide-eyed-innocent was surprised that JJ was so unsympathetic.  Good luck with the defendant tenants and their 13-year-old berserker.

Oh, our late-lamented, unrealized road trip! I think we had to cancel it because StewedSquash refused to put all the charges on her CC, because we all have bad credit and even though we promised to pay her back with our tax returns and disablility checks, we couldn't decide who would bring the cheese balls and I was still working on getting insurance for my 19-year old Beemer. All of us getting shit-faced and watching endless JJ&MM eps - Mst3K style -  would be a dream vacation, well, until someone throws a bottle through a window, takes someone else to the floor, sets fire to the towels or pulls a knife, that is and we get thrown out of the hotel. *sigh* Some things may be better left to fantasy.

No worries, I have a nine year old step godcousin with a decent SS#.  We'll put satellite and an Xbox in her name. When she turns 18 and bitches that we've jacked her credit,  we can sue her for harassment.  Win. Win.

Damn, you know it!!!  My version of the house gown is 3x , extra tall, men's v neck tee shirt.  Sadly, no pockets.  But points for bleachability.  PTV & coffee snot is hell on the house gown.

Hey, Judy, how you doing? I resent that Angela has been spreading lies about me not putting this trip on my credit card. I got a $4,000 cash advance on my credit card to pay for our trip. With said money I bought some clothes, cheeseballs,  a hoopty, lottery tickets, a big swing set for my two granddaughters, and a gift card for $100 from Speedway for my DD Express iced coffee addiction. All that adds up to $6,000. Y'all didn't make the first payment yet and if y'all don't make it, I ain't making it because I was only supposed to get the money out for the trip. The balance owed now is $15,000 on the cc. I will never speak to any of you again,  I know none of you when I see you.(I am now shouting across the space between podiums at all y'all  janky ass friends) The judge will know you have to pay because I have proof that I got $4,000 out for our trip. I used whiteout to put in my name on my neighbor's receipt he got for his trip and that's the same trip we were taking and that's solid proof.  (JJ:Don't speak to them,I will dismiss your case) (eye roll continued outburst) He payed $9,000 for his trip so y'all owe me that much plus the $15,000 credit bill plus the $4,000. The whole board here does because y'all were all thinking about going which is approval.  Y'all owe me money because I wouldn't have spent that money on myself if not for the big trip of my lifetime, that I always dreamed of taking.  I will never speak to any of you again. (JJ speaking) Case dismissed with prejudice! Byrd will you show these people out. I am not doing any math today!

Picture it...Hallterview huddle, all of us sobbing and expressing our love for each other while planning the party of the year.

Don't forget to tell JJ how you feel. Because she loves to hear about your feelings.

The rest is pretty much golden. Pretty pretty pretty much. Yikes.

But, but... The 30k weddin' to our 4th babydaddy (who will catch parole next month) is paramount in our bill paying priorities.

Yes, we're late on rent,  But that's cool cause we 'splained it to the stupid landlord that didn't realise that he/she was running a charity and forgot to snug up to section 8.  Meanwhile, our kids will kick holes in the wall, cause that's what normal wear & tear is.

Defendant Kovchevar stood there, mouth agape as if she couldn't comprehend that punching holes in the house isn't normal.

"Wear & tear"  in my childhood meant "you TEAR something up and someone will WEAR your ass out"

This interchange had me rolling. JJ expects him to say "no", but he says "a few times". His nonchalant attitude, and her response were just hysterical

Number one rule for an attorney.  Never ask a question that you don't already know the answer to.

he couldn't get a new one because he had bought his girlfriend a $30k Lexus and had had to take out a loan on it so no extra cash for a car for him, and of course, no insurance.

It does sound like prime JJ material. Call me naive, but I really was not aware of the stupidity and insanity going on day in and day out until I started watching court shows because never in my life have I known anyone, or even known OF anyone, to get up to the shenannigans we see here. Why did no one ever buy ME a Lexus?

He should consider doing what Montrell and Abigail, his sainted baby momma, from today's case did: Buy a raggedy, 14-year old POS Lexus (but it's a LEXUS - something you really need when you're broke and have an upcoming Blessed Event) and then refuse to pay for it because it's not in showroom condition. Also, he could illegally rent out rooms in his apartment to a variety of weirdos and misfits, take their money and then boot them out. There are a million options in JJ-Land!

Then we had the cousin/step-sister/adopted sister/mother/niece I dunno WTF the beef was because I gave up.

c/ss/as/m/n defendant was pissed because plaintiff c/ss/as/m/n brought up the fact that her baby had died and she kept the caucus for several days.  Apparently they were drunk.  Except only one of them was drunk.  And plaintiff didn't really live there.  But she really did live there.  And something about a restraining order. And an involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.  And Judy warning that, if you sue for defamation, the court will examine your entire reputation, and do you really want that brought up on television.

Despite recalling all of these details, I still have no idea what happened in the end.

That was some kind of wacko.  Keeping the caucus (carcass?!?)  Yowza.  But when JJ asked plaintiff if she really wanted to keep going with the defamation angle, and have her whole life exposed, her response was, "Yes!  Bring it on!" (or thereabouts.)   Dammit JJ!!  We were cheated!!  She agreed!  I'm wondering if it wasn't some really awful stuff that in the interest of humanity JJ declined to expose.  Maybe.

Another one of those cases where we really needed a flowchart to keep up with the familial relationships.

Nobody got anything.  I was appalled at plaintiff referring to her niece/sister's dead baby's body as a carcass, or caucus -- my god, her story was so rehearsed, she couldn't get that word right?

I believed sister/niece wasn't drinking -- isn't a round face a sign of kidney disease/dialysis treatment?  Her face was very round.  Mom needs to have that mole checked out.

Oh, I forgot to include "god-cousins" because mother's husband's brother-in-law (or someone) was someone's godfather. I'm so glad I stopped before hearing about any caucus.

I can't watch this, but what I'm reading here is distressing me. Did this... person actually refer to a dead infant using the same word I might use to refer to the leftovers from a roasted chicken dinner? Can this be true?

Producers, do we really need this kind of stuff??? FFS.
