If they are doing it strictly out of a sense of obligation then that would be a really weak reason.  I mean they are pro cheerleaders, not people working with refugees or doctors.

THAT Kaitlyn!  I don't remember her being that bad when she was first a DCC but yeah, she was a mess during the next year's TC (is that right? Was it her second year?) But they let her go fairly quick after her odd behavior.

Sorry wrong Kaitlyn, you are thinking of the one that had some behavioral issues.  This one was a blonde that seemed somewhat ditzy and not very good with style or dance

I would definitely put KLarae in the same category as Morgan, Breelen, Ashley Pro, etc. Beautiful girls but weak dancers.  That all of them failed to be invited back a second year says that they probably were failed experiments.

I can't believe it's boot night!! I tried on boots recently (Lucchese and and Ariat). They are tight in the instep, and the Luccheses are narrower all over. You need a boot jack to get them off, but I have never seen one in photos of the cheerleaders' locker room. I think they help each other yank them off.

After a night of dancing in those boots I bet it is a struggle to get them off. Between narrow shoes and swollen sweaty feet, those boots have to be miserable.

I'll never understand why they took her. And I can't believe that even after a professional makeover she still had so much makeup on and was practically orange. And that goes for the other girls that over-tan and have such a phony-looking skin color or wear too much obvious makeup (I'm thinking of Breelan's eye shadow here). It's not attractive. But as for Morgan, they called her out over and over again for mistakes and then took her anyway. It was like Emily the season before. She'd make tons of mistakes and then Kelly would say, "She's so pretty." They say that they're taking elite dancers, but when you see stuff like that, you know that they, or at least Kelly anyway, value looks over performance. That just rubs me the wrong way, maybe because I'm no beauty. But really, don't say it's all about dance skills if it really isn't.

IMOHO, the video shows the RC dancing like the Vets. For some reason my eye goes to Allie and stays there. I like the way she moves. She reminds me of a graceful feline. Heather Hamiliton looks all grown up all of a sudden. I like her too. Madeline looks very pretty too. Whoever did her makeover after she got cut did an incredible job. That was money very well spent. 

Going back to this week's TC pics, to me Jessika is the one without the DCC appeal. I remember I voted for her. She's my guess on who might get cut next. I hope CMT explains the love Kelli has showered on Yuko with the missed practices. That faux pas I can not get my head around.

I've danced in the go go type boots like most teams wear and ours zipped. They weren't comfortable after a game, but nothing like I imagine stuff cowboy boots are.

From what I recall was posted, she was in a car accident early in the season, gained weight and did not return for the remainder of the season.

i just loved Jenn K in that hands clap video - wow did she dance that perfectly.   I had a hard time watching anyone else. 

Showed the dance to my daughter and she said that choreography is so easy that anyone w/ even the most basic dance background should be able to pick that up almost instantly - so we really shouldn't be too impressed that the rookies can do it well I guess ;).

I loved Morgan. Yeah her tan was a bit much. but other than that I really liked her.  she had great showmanship and a great personality

I would like see Auto Amy cut, just because I don't think she's DCC material.  Everyone else seems great!  I would be upset if Kelsey, Kyndall  , Kelli Q or Madeline were cut.

So these are the rookie candidates still in training camp:

Amy, Khalyn, heather H., Heather O., Jessika, Madeline, Kelsey, Milan, Yuko, Tess, Selina, Kyndall, Maggie, Cersten, Allie, Kelli, Tasha, Mandy

out of the above, these are the girls, in my opinion, who I think will definitely make the final cut:

Heather H., Heather O., Madeline, Kelsey, Milan, Maggie, Cersten, Allie, Kelli, and Mandy

So the above girls + vets = 31

so, room for 3-5 more.

I could see them cutting Yuko (for visa issues), Jessika (only because she's been called in a few times from what's been posted)

So the 3-5 more would have to come from Amy, Khalyn, Selina, Tess, kyndall, and Tasha. 

We haven't heard anything really about any of them except Amy, Tasha is well liked by the other TCCs and speculated drama with kyndall. Any guesses on the 3-5????:)

I would think Tess is a shoo-in from what we've seen.

If Yuko is cut, does that make 38?  I would guess Amy and one other.... Heather O I'm not sure on her look.

Auto Amy will be cut. They're just waiting to the end for maximum dramatic effect.

I agree that Auto Amy's dramatic statements (coupled with tears) made me roll my eyes, but all her ITMs were filled during prelims/semis/finals/etc. From everything we've heard, those days are long, stressful, and emotional, so her over-the-top ness might have stemmed from that. I'm personally interested to see how she interacts in training camp, and if she's lasted this long, she can't be that bad. I also don't think K and J would have brought her into camp purely for drama and with the desire to cut her.

Agreed. Perhaps I'm missing something, but while it sucks for Kyndall, I don't think her employer is in any way obligated to make exceptions for her. It would be one thing if she were taking night classes to get another degree that would also benefit the company or if she needed an altered scheduled due to childcare or something like that, but "I'm in training camp for DCC" is different. It's certainly possible that her boss is just an asshole, but given the DCC schedule, I can imagine how difficult it is to hold down a typical 8 to 5 job. I think there is a reason why so many of the DCCs seem to be dance instructors/zuma instructors/retail workers, etc.  I know I definitely would not be able to hold my job and be in training camp.

I agree.  She's worked very hard to make improvements.  Just the difference I've seen in her kicks this year compared to last shows me how much she's been working.  She had a better solo, too.  She's a real sweet person and I'd love to see her make the team :)

On Yuko's status, I did some researching on a legal website that specializes in visas. It appears that she would be able to start work on a tourist visa (B-1 or B-2). If her employer then applies for an employment visa, she likely would be able to stay on the tourist visa while the application is pending. From the site:

"One visa that many foreign workers pursue is the H-1B visa. The H-1B allows a foreign worker to temporarily work for a U.S. employer in a specialty occupation. To apply for an H-1B, your employer must file an I-129 petition with USCIS. In this petition, your employer will note that you are already in the U.S. in B-1 or B-2 status, and will ask that USCIS do two things: (1) change your status to that of H-1B and (2) extend your status for a specified period of time (usually three years) so that you can work for the employer.

"Another type of work visa that may be available to you is the O-1. The O-1 allows a foreign worker who possesses extraordinary abilities to work for a U.S. employer temporarily. Not sure it's perfect as-is given that I haven't seen any of the practices, but I too am rooting for Kelsey!

That certainly does suck for Yuko. Maybe the tourist visa is what she had to obtain because she's technically not employed by the Cowboys yet. So maybe she can't legally obtain a work visa yet, and then if she does make it, she can apply for a transfer? I'm not sure

 

but it would be unfortunate if they let her on the team, and then the visa situation didn't work out and she had to leave

I completely agree. I think it's great that they love her and think she's a great dancer but is it worth the risk? I think she needs to cut the loss now, maybe meet with Jinelle and find out what she did, and come back better prepared next year

If Yuko is back and they are going to put her on the team w/ this tourist Visa (my bet is she's a top choice for the team to them if they even told her to bother with that trip), that means someone else is going on the chopping block for them to cut to 36.

yeah ... I would hope they wouldn't let her go all the way back to Japan to deal with this and still end up cutting her.  I do think it's weird but hey, what do I know!

Finally remembered my password - I've been lurking and enjoying all of the updates and posts.

My PC finally cooperated with me and allowed me to watch ALL of season 1 on CMT and something stuck with me regarding this time of year.  Natalie Woods said (I'm paraphrasing a bit) that there are those who are clearly going to make the team.  "But for everyone else, it's a nightmare".  I think the emotional and physical stress -- not to mention no sleep and probably living on vegetables & juices -- account for so much of the tearful confessionals we see.  

What I'm interested in seeing this year is how K&J respond to the tears.  I started watching in season 6 and every year there seems to be a new "tone" that Kelli sets.  Season 6 seemed empathetic and reasonable.  She wasn't overly harsh on the girls and was compassionate towards Mackenzie's tears (even though she did have some very critical things to say of Nina and Ika).  Season 7, she pulled a 180.  Suddenly she was OVERLY solicitous (to Kelsey: "Are you okay? Are you healthy? Are you okay") and very concerned about not crushing anyone's spirit.  She seemed fine with Morgan and KD's tears in season 8....cried over cuts in almost every season up to season 9.  Then last year, she was more detached.  She got a little choked up at the very last rehearsal before announcing the team, but showed no emotion over anyone at all.  While I wasn't a huge Rose fan, she seemed shocked that she was crying.

This has got to be the most draining few last weeks for these girls.  I wish them all the best.

I agree to a point but it seems it's starting to cross the line of "special treatment" IMHO.
