Scarborough's over-the-top advocacy for Israel is too much, way too much.   Everyone on the panel is sitting there in silence while he's ranting, like they're afraid to speak.  He sounds like a zealot.

I turned it on to his ranting and it was so insane.  Joe, if your Evangelical beliefs have you thinking you have to save Israel so you can get raptured up to Heaven, good luck with that.

People can support Palestine and a two state solution and also want to stop Hamas and Hezbollah from attacking Israel. The US has supported this for decades.   Your ilk takes things so out of context it's like you don't even understand words and their meaning.

Being pro Palestine does not mean a person is anti semitic or anti Israel.  You have read where Mika's father's boss, President Carter, said that Palestinians were living in an apartheid state, right?    Just exactly who are you lecturing?  You have gotten it wrong so many times in the last 15 years no one pays the slightest bit of attention to you other than to call you out on your bullshit.

You might want to up the dosage on your meds. Or just stfu since as usual you don't know what you're talking about.

As far as yesterday, because of the way these two have conducted themselves in the past, I hated that I thought Mika was being a tad dramatic with her reading the phone alerts etc. because this latest mass shooting happened in Maine.

He kept indulging false equivalencies, saying, "if this were any other country, no one would question their right to wipe out the enemy that attacked them!" without taking into account the unfortunate reality and history of the Israel-Palestine relationship.

There was no room for nuance in his rant, no gray in his black-and-white screed.   It was shocking, actually.  And the panel just sat there, frozen in silence.  He dramatically paused at some points, as though daring them to disagree.

Joe would probably have a stroke if someone pointed out to him it was his beloved Great Britain's colonialism and the Balfour Declaration of 1917 that started this whole mess, and then the 1947 Partition Resolution.  Al Jazeera's facts here are backed up by other sources, it's not an opinion based article.

FFS Joe even a stand up comic hosting The Daily Show was quick to point this out.  You only have to watch the first 3 minutes of this video, but I have to say, as usual, TDS is better at this than most so called news people.

Thought we could all use a bit of a humor after the last few weeks.

I've found msnbc to be doing a hmm now more decent job showing different victims, different perspectives and different people in the complex and terrible Israel-Gaza war.

There is one character who has been on a few times and to me seems like he's doing a poor job like "acting" almost, and he has not impressed me, high on the drama and attitude. ...I was shocked that Nicolle Wallace didn't react to him! Didn't challenge him at all. Just told him she wished his college age daughter a safe trip somewhere or something.  I was floored...I've come to expect her to be a lot better than that, it's her job to push back, at least question people.  Wtf?

Same guy comes on this morning and the gang, starting with MIKA of all freaking people, and ending with Elise I think, all give him tough but fair questions, even followed up on a couple of things he said. And this time the guy wasn't nearly as snotty/brash, and he was dancing a lot faster as the heat was turned up. I had thought he must be scary or something when NW was so mousy and such a doormat with him but all it took was them being unwilling to take it. I mean again freaking MIKA of all people took the reins here!  I haven't been so impressed in years!   Mika and MJ, good job.

And I guess as a viewer I shouldn't have to be so grateful to see the fourth estate doing its job but in a world where MJ can be lacking, glad they decided to show up and pay attention today.

Mika invited her brother to discuss Google helping Ukranian women in Poland.

Of course she did.

Wasn’t Joe gone on Friday? And then today. Did anyone say that Joe “has the day off” or acknowledge his absence in any way? I do hope he is not sick. Or maybe he is taking a timeout for the Israel/Palestinian/Hamas off-the-rails rant last week?

Joe was there Friday. Mika was off. He was in the studio & lectured the other panellists on Israel-Palestine relations. Joe did receive the key to the City of Jerusalem when he was in Congress.

It seems one or the other is off quite frequently. Maybe not - I don’t tune in as often as I used to. Last week Joe rattled off all the places he grew up. Was his father a preacher? Military? I chuckled because we have discussed this here.

Lol I know; the show is 4 hours and they're on LESS! Neat trick.

I thought Joe might be ill with all the absences, but he just mentioned being in LA last week. I'm still confused why Mika was wearing an anorak jacket to host the entire show.

I appreciate Barnacle reading the paper instead of engaging with MJ regular Christie in the waiting area.

RIP Avis. What a life she lived.

If Mark McKinnon has any credibility, it must be squirreled away under that stupid fucking hat.

Yes! I have always wondered what the deal is with him and that ridiculous looking hat-worn-indoors. Good grief.

In Mark M's group - No Labels - they have the perfect plan to thwart Trump's reelection.  They run a "Favorite Son" from 4 or 5 states that moderate Republican voters will vote for. But.  What is to prevent Dems for voting for this person, too.  If so many are upset re Biden's age and want another candidate...maybe a Mitt Romney (or others) it could be a choice for them.  Granted, I am just a poor retired country librarian (like Joe boasts he is Poor Country Lawyer) - but has this occurred to anyone but me? This has nothing to do with my political views; it is just something that I cannot believe Hat-Worn-Indoors and his group have not thought of.

Interesting.
I watched the CSPAN coverage of the Senate vote on senior military promotions.  Only three  officers were up for consideration (out of the neary 400 on the list)

One Senator (Tuberville)  demonstrated the enormous legitimate (albeit frustrating) power to block consideration and promotion in what used to be a nearly automatic process (one vote on all names on the list). Imagine that...one Senator with the legit authority to prevent promotions.  😲

How was Desantis?  Did Mika just lean against Joe and look haughty the whole time?

They were even easier on him than they are on Christie.

I did appreciate Mika just moving around pens and sniffing "Interesting..." when DeSantis gave one of several ridiculous non-answers.

Mika & Joe are very upset with the NY Times polls showing Trump leading in most of the battleground states. Joe went on a tirade about Trump saying nonsense on the campaign.

Joe said Biden has to work harder to fight back against the perception that he is too old to be President.

Joe said Biden has passed legislation, rebuilt NATO etc.

Joe is mad at Trump for having 91 indictments against him.

Heilman said he is worried about core Democratic voters not supporting Biden.

The drought is affecting voters that come out in the rain.

The big guest today was Richard Haas. He wrote a column on Israel. he advocates a third option which would be to let Palestinians govern the West Bank. No new settlements or annexation by Israel. He said Bibi will have to leave office. They need a leader to back the third option. Biden could support the new leader.

Joe blamed right-wing extremists for not focusing on Gaza.

Mika was excited that Haas's book is coming out in paperback. It's called the Bill of Obligations. He wants kids to read the Federalist Papers.

Oh FFS. We can barely get young people to vote, and Haas thinks they're going to read the Federalist Papers??

Maybe if Taylor Swift reads them for Audible...

Has Joe realized that his incessant rants about Israel aren't working?  Did he see that article about State Dept staffers criticizing Biden in Politico? That'll set his hair on fire.

The last two times I've watched, for a total of 3 minutes it was Joe blabbering and Mika doing her oohing and ahhing and looking at him the way I look at Chris Evans in the first Captain America movie after he gets the serum.

Mika isn't a fan of young female performers. Taylor Swift must wait 15 years before she is eligible for an invitation to her summit in Dubai.

I remember when Mika criticized Miley Cyrus for twerking.

Joe told viewers that his show is top-rated in Israel. He could convince the Knesset to replace Bibi.

Mika introduces an author with a book about grief. Her tone of voice is grating. It’s like she is acting a role if interviewer. Huma Abedin continues the interview and it was so good. Her tone was quite not shreaky. Maybe Mika is soooo excited about the election results that she could not tone it down.

Is there a word that means more than constant?  I need it to express my frustration with joes repetitive use of the same freakin phrases. Ge has added on taped by an illegal immigrant to his spiel about abortion rights. Why oh why is that necessary?  Just like the predictable rant about beheadings and burnings by hamas. He numbs you to the horror. He just gets louder and louder. Today he’s pounding the desk. What can ass.

Joe started off the show by gloating that Republicans have lost elections in every year since 2017. He repeats the phrase numerous times throughout the show.

I am surprised MSNBC doesn't develop a wind up toy with all of his catchphrases.

Joe said the Republicans packed the Supreme Court using sleazy tactics. Overturning Roe vs Wade has created victories for Democrats.

Joe pounded the table that the only Republican who won in Kentucky was opposed to election deniers.

Lemire said it is a victory for abortion rights.
