Ok, I didn't watch much of yesterday's show but have had it on this morning and I have to say the overall vibe is so much different when Meeks isn't there.  Everybody's posture is so much more relaxed and the conversation seems to flow much more naturally as opposed to waiting to get called on.

And an extra added feature to being in studio, shoe cam!  Heilemann is a no socks kind of guy with great loafers and my beloved Yasmin Vossoughian is wearing the most adorable high top tennies, love!

ACK, why is John Podhoretz on my screen . . . . boo.

Joe is still in NY. Mika is off with her daughter. First topic is Trump ordered air strikes against Iran but backed off at the last minute.

Heidi said Trump needs approval of Congress to declare war on Iran.

Joe said Trump is reluctant to go to war with Iran.

Joe said that Trump should hold town halls because his poll numbers are bad.

I agree Oakville, isn't he just the best?  I am so glad more and more vets are entering politics as they bring a depth of experience many people just don't understand.  The last thing a vet wants to do is send someone into a situation that they experienced.  More vets, less wars.

Why is Pohertz wearing a sweater in June ?

Joe was happy that Biden called Booker to ease tensions over working with segregationist in the Senate.

Joe's questions are so long , he hardly gives anyone time to respond.

Al Sharpton defended Biden but said he should not brag about being called son as opposed to boy by segregationist.

Sharpton admitted he used racially insensitive language.

Joe bragged about Biden defending civil rights.

It's really easy for the host of a cable news show with a staff of researchers, etc. to find out why Donald Trump called off that strike late yesterday. I know Joe doesn't believe in the internet since it says everyone hates him, but this has been going around for a couple days and I haven't heard anyone talk about it.

In the first few minutes when Joe was going around the table describing everyone's outfit I was imagining Mika loosing her shit and trying to shush him.  

I know the producers are probably in her ear at times telling her to move things along, but seriously as long as they get the commercials in, who cares if the news gets read? Off a teleprompter. Poorly. By Mika. 

Joe did seem much more relaxed today.  For someone who "can't be away from each other at all ever" they both seem happier when they get a break from each other. There's only so much a person can take someone else 24 hours a day.

They talked about the US sanctions crippling the Iranian economy. Have other nations also placed sanctions against Iran? Heidi's statistics were shocking. Max Rose hopefully has a bright political future. Rev Al doesn't look healthy. Every time I see him, he looks like he's lost more weight. Anyone else notice this? The Leon Panetta  interview was very informative. At least Joe wasn't constantly interrupting him and gave him time to speak.

I've noticed it for quite some time, which is why I can't stand to look at him or watch his show.  He just doesn't look healthy.

However, Joe Scarborough has not officially supported Northam's resignation so it is a moot point.

Joe is a widely respected thought leader in the African American community.

Joe recommended that Northam apologize.

He might be barred from appearing on MSNBC until the contract is over. .

Schultz dropped out and Steve had a meltdown on the podcast he was co-hosting with Elise Jordan. She then shut down the podcast so it no longer exists.

No, because other nations have not pulled out of the Iran nuclear agreement.  By all accounts, including our own, Iran has been complying with the agreement and not enriching uranium and not building nuclear weapons.  The US is the only country that pulled out of that agreement (a year ago) and implemented sanctions due to unfounded claims that Iran was not abiding by the agreement.

Rev used to weigh over 300 lbs. He went on a very strict diet and lost more than half.  He has taken it a bit far maybe.

I am tired of the repetitive segments on MSNBC shows regarding Biden's attempt to talk about how he can work with people he doesn't like.  The topic came up again a few minutes ago on MJ. I turned off the TV.  One MSNBC show covered the story 3 different times on the same episode. Snippets from a few candidates on MJ on Friday gave insight into their being willing to exploit anything to take down an opponent using words such as coddling and adoration to describe what Biden said.  I did not get that from Biden's words though he expressed himself poorly.  One unintended consequence is that I am starting to see which candidates I can't trust to be truthful. It will make it much harder to vote for the one who wins the nomination.

The problem is that the coverage is so over the top.  There is nothing new and it never ends.  My husband just walked into the room.  I told him that I turned off MJ and asked him to guess the reason. He called it right away.

Monday Recap.

Mika & Joe are on set together. Mika is upset at the images of the children being held at the border.

Mika said that Ivanka reacted to the kids in Syria in 2017, so she should get her dad to fix the problem.

Mayor Pete is in trouble for African Americans being killed in Indiana.

Mika is discussing Joe's tweets.

Joe is mad at kids being held in custody at the border.

 

Joe said that Mike Pence should read the gospels. Children should have toothpaste.

Joe started quoting bible verses.

Lemire said that there is a zero tolerance policy at the border. Asylum seekers have to be detained.

 

Joe said that when he was in Congress , these problems would be solved in a day.

 

Joe said he would do a fundraiser for the kids toothbrushes & soap.  Joe said he would make a few phone calls & make sure that supplies got to the kids.

Joe attacked Trump for giving money to Saudi Arabia.

 

Richard Haas said China put 1 million Muslims in concentration camps but they don't allow images to be shown.

Haas wants more immigration judges at the border.

Joe was happy that Al Sharpton, Jim Clyburn & John Lewis defended Joe Biden for working with segregationist senators.

Adrienne Elrod said Corey Booker got more press attention for criticizing Joe biden than he did during the campaign.

Joe said Biden has to work for the nomination. There are many candidates running.

Maybe Meeka could have a KYV seminar and donate the proceeds to these poor kids and the horror of what is happening.  I am fully expecting Joe to give a concert to help raise funds.  Sadly this is no joke.

I have noticed that there are not nearly as many posts on this thread as there used to be.  I know, it is that time of year...summer, kids, vacations.  But could it be that we have reached fatigue with these two and the show's format?  During the repetitive Biden stories (and the opportunistic Dem candidates who could not wait to pile on) I flipped to CNN and stayed for awhile.  They had a lively discussion on the latest rape allegation against Trump.  Different faces/reporters/opinions that were actually interesting to watch.  And everyone got a chance to talk.  When they switched to the Biden story I switched to CBS This Morning.

Shallow end...what is going on with Meeka's white jacket/top?  It seems about a size too big.  Accommodating the width of the chest to the detriment of the shoulder size?

I am sick and tired of Booker's constant complaining about Biden's comments. I think he has gone on every channel and made the same comments over and over. He's grabbed this gaffe and is hoping his poll numbers rise. I totally agree with Adrienne.

Joe said that  Biden got much more press for hugging women & girls during swearing in ceremonies.

Ok, I bounced early today but did they spend any quality time on this besides the maybe 60 second mention I saw?  I would think Meeks would be all girl power over this or were they too busy blowing smoke over a non-existent funding drive for the children while smugly nodding at each other?

Not really. Adrienne was furious that Trump survived the Access Hollywood allegations.

Mika was mad at Trump .

Trump said he didn't know the lady but he knew her husband at the time.

There was no coverage of Chuck Todd's interview with Trump on the show. I found that surprising.

Mika & Joe have a new segment on Pride month.

Mika kept repeating LGBTQ slowly.

The head of Glaad said supporting for LGBTQ is dropping among the 18-34 age group. It went from 63% to 45%.

She blamed Trump.

Joe bragged about being a Southern Baptist who supports LGBTQ.

Can't she do ONE thing on her own without Joe's "help"?   Why does he have to be the moderator on a women's forum?  Yes, I know men should be on board; but how can she know her value if she needs her boyfriend (who, without him, she would not be relevant) to tag along with her? And he will have a difficult time taking any kind of back-seat role at this Shaminar.  Any way we can see actual ticket sales?  And maybe she needs him to sell the tickets.
