I have posted at least 100 recaps that contradict Joe’s assertions. I called the show Morning Trump for months.

The panel is excited because he is willing to go to jail & refuse to show up for the subpoena.

Mika read Trump's tweet with her "excited" news voice.

Mika said "wow" several times.

Willie said Trump feels the walls are closing in. Trump is DOOMED!

Joe is worried about all the legal fees that Trump aides like Hicks have to pay.

True. Joe is also annoying when he complained about Jim Vanderhei leaking information about him when he was Congress. Mika got frustrated with Joe and said it was a busy newsday. They didn’t have time to waste on Joe’s glory days in Congress.

I have noticed more "Live" segments from 8-8:30 am recently, maybe 50% more these last couple weeks.  I wonder if somebody took a look at the numbers and noticed a migration from MSNBC to other networks during that annoying rebroadcast.

Another storm headed our way.   Literally thousands in the region have been without power since Friday, with restoration still uncertain.   Two people were killed by falling trees, including an 11-year-old asleep in his bed when a falling tree sliced through his house.   Now as much as a foot and a half of snow is in the offing.   Fucking groundhog.

I do think ratings suffer during the repeated segments.

It wasn't mentioned on the show, but that scary NRA TV women did an ad calling out all kinds of groups, and she specifically called out by name "Morning Joe, Mika and Joy Reid" (not sure if others were called out by name). She then said "Your time is running out" and turned over an hourglass.

Thanks XOQueens and cased, I didn't bother watching the ad before but just did.  Wow, they were the only ones called out by name and I would be furious too if I were them.  The NRA has had plenty of incendiary ads but this one really crossed the line.

Aside from the scary hillbilly guitar twangs, the only threat I perceived was that Dana Loesch has a new show coming out.   The parties she mentioned were all celebrities, media darlings, pundits and self-appointed spokespeople (i.e. the "Liberal Left").   Apparently Dana thinks her NRA "truth" will steamroll them all.  The message was to the effect of "You're all on notice, because here I come."   But a call to violence?   

I suspect that Scarborough's posturing is more about burnishing his own credentials as an alpha male than concern for Mika's safety.   He actually diminishes Mika by referring to her only as "my fiance," like she's one of his possessions, and presuming to protect her like that's his job.   

Maybe he and LaPierre can find a schoolyard or playground where they can settle this like boys.

I thought the same thing.  First of all, "your fiance" has a name, she's not an appliance.  I think you're right, Dana has a new show on NRA  TV. 

If Mika is getting death threats I hope she's reporting every one of them to the police and the FBI.  

John Oliver did a great piece on NRA TV with Dana and her band of vipers, it's worth a watch. Hilarious.  You think they're crazy, wait til you see two women spray painting an ammo clip pink. They have QVC for gun nuts. "get the women, you get the family".

I find it odd that Joe keeps calling Hope Hicks and Nuremberg "kids"....anyone else notice this?  Like "these kids have thousands of dollars of legal fees" that apparently Trump will not pay.  Kids?  I could see if they were in their teens.  Maybe til 21.  I guess we can add "kid" to all the other excuses for Hicks.  "she is really nice" "she kept Trump from acting insane" (well, she didn't do a very good job) "she is naive" etc.  Kids?  No one forced these adults to work for Trump; to put up with his brand of crazy, to put themselves in the eye of Robert Mueller.  Kids my ass.  

I dumped on poor Mr. Kemper this weekend for saying he kind of felt sorry for Hope.  Don't worry, Mr. Kemper...she will land on her feet.  I am not saying these "adults" don't have major problems right now; I do think they maybe had stars in their eyes ... or, more practically, an agenda on their minds.  When deciding to throw their lot in with Trump, both of these "adults" probably thought they were on the gravy train and would become rich and maybe famous.  Why doesn't Numberg just turn his computer over to Mueller's investigation.  Problem solved. I think Sam freaked out with the subpoena, he probably thought that first interview was it and he was in the clear. He was in an utter panic and just talking to anyone he thought could give him advice. It's sad when you think cable news hosts and political analysts are your only friends. 

If Stone is "my mentor, like a father", why didn't he call him?  Or his attorney. The screen shot of his phone with the attorney texting NONONONO when he said he was going on MSNBC was hilarious. 

Mueller found another weak link. 

I like how the time to search his emails kept going up, 50 hours 80 hours.

Just type Roger Stone in your email search engine.  Then type Steve Bannon. 

What is it with these people and their lack of technology skills? 

Or like Kemper said, delete the porn and turn the computer over to Mueller's team. Let them search it.  Agree to testify for immunity.

Yeah that was weird to me too. I was wondering if doing that (repeatedly) was more because he was responding personally as the guy who looooooves her and not as her professional coworker. He didn't alpha male puff his chest out about himself or Joy being called out by name.

But re: the bolded... that is exactly the vibe I get from their relationship. That thought process leads down squicky paths so I'll stop there.

Scarborough seems to have bought into this "old country lawyer" persona swiped from Matlock, hence anybody younger than the demographic for Murder, She Wrote is a "kid."  

I'm a few months older than Scarborough and never have I bought into this "we're old" assertion he sometimes says to Mika.   Spring is on the other side of this Nor'easter and the wheels of my skateboard are already oiled.  I don't know what happens to some people when they cross into their 50s.   I have friends who seem to have refocused the reason for their existence entirely on their grandchildren.    They're into the whole grandparents scene.   Now the photo Christmas cards are always of their grandkids (why?).   I don't get how they can so easily trade in their youth and become card-carrying members of the AARP.   Sure, we'll all get there eventually but not so soon.  The very word "grandparent" fills me with horror, probably because most of the grandparent types I knew growing up were bitter, mean, demanding and self-centered.

I know what people mean by the "age" thing.  Almost all of my friends have grandchildren.  They are happy to babysit, carpool, etc.  And that is fine.  But I also belong to a women's group where the conversation is freewheeling, we participated in the Women's March, we are registering voters, canvassing and phone banking for candidates.   The youngest member of the group is in their late 60's; the oldest is 98.  We are all loudly opinionated; and we all watch MJ.  Mostly for the snark over coffee.  We are all "Living Blue in a Red State."  None of us understands Meek-a or the dynamic of the Gold Dust Twins.  Someone mentioned trying to find a way to keep track of how many actual minutes Joe talks.  Subtract the time for commercials, then we get the idea of how much airtime he hogs.

Sometimes I kind of feel sorry for Meek-a because it seems almost all of her life she has had to really work to keep up.  I guess there may have been a lot of pressures put on her by her family to excel.  So now I guess she is happy to have this bit of fame, to be adored by her co-host (and I do think he adores her), to have her chickens and maybe, finally thinking she has found her value.  Still can't stand her, but can kind of see why she is the way she is.  She entertains in a sad way.

Will tune in tomorrow for ... dun dun dun.  The fallout from Gary Cohn's resignation.  Didn't watch the Roger Stone interview with Chuck Todd mainly because I think Mr. Stone is just about one of the most repulsive-looking characters I have ever seen.   So, hope MJ talks about this tomorrow, too.

Comparing Joe to Matlock?  Country lawyer?  In Joe's dreams.  But I do think that is how he sometimes tries to come off.

I got into my car this morning and turned on my Sirius XM radio just in time to hear Joe's whole lamentation about the "poor kids" and all their legal fees. I almost vomited. These people all knew EXACTLY who and what Trump is when they jumped on his bandwagon. I have zero sympathy for any of them; as far as I'm concerned they all belong in jail.

And then...THEN...he went off on "poor Mike Flynn, who served his country" and I swear to God I almost drove my car into a tree. Does Joe understand the seriousness of the charges against Flynn? That fucking asshole conspired to have a political rival of one of his clients KIDNAPPED (and most likely murdered). The same fucking asshole who used to gleefully chant "Lock her up!" about Hillary's deleted personal emails. He is filthy, dirty, evil, and corrupt and both he and his sleazebag son deserve to rot in the bowels of the worst federal prison imaginable. Trump with them.

Watch Wednesday's  show!. They were discussing the Bachelor & that Ari picked the blonde over the brunette. They are comparing Trump to the Bachelor with respect to staffing decisions. Mika gave a dirty look to KCDC & warned her that  men pick blondes over Brunettes. KC was stunned. Mika said Look what happened to the Brunette!. Joe said "We are all Brunettes". Mika then admitted she was a Brunette.

Wednesday Recap. Mika & Joe are in DC with KC. No lightning intro. Josh Earnest & Bachelor Critic John Podhertz are also on the show. They played clips of everyone resigning from the Trump administration. No one wants to work for Trump.

Cohn was a hero for trying to keep Trump from implementing tariffs.

Joe scolded people who wanted Cohn to resign over Charlottsville last August. Joe said he stayed to get tax reform & help manage the economy. He lost his chance at being Fed Chairman for criticizing Trump over Charlottsville.

They discussed the Bachelor. Mika didn't watch it & made faces throughout the segment. Joe watched the show.  Joe said Trump enjoys the chaos with his staff.

Joe think that Trump will change his mind about steel tariffs after the special election in Pittsburgh.

Mika said no one wants the legal bills for working for Trump

Ryan & Mitchell are trying to steer Trump away from tariffs on allies like Canada.

Is Podhertz auditioning for Barnicle's job? He is the new curmudgeon.

Mika is getting snippy with KC & warning her what happened to Becca on he Bachelor could happen to her.!

Mika admitted she is really a Brunette.

Ratner is mumbling about at least Cohn knows economics but disagreed with some of the tax reform.

Joe said Hicks resigned & set Trump off on starting a trade war.

Podhertz said the GOP likes free  trade

Mika admitted that they are friends with Gary Cohn

Joe got mad at Podhertz because he laughed at his theory of Trump going ahead with Tariffs because Hope resigned.

Podhertz said that Trump wanted tariffs since the 1980s.

Joe called Trump a lifelong Democrat from Queens. KC squinted at that.

Ratner said candidates can switch positions after getting elected.

Ratner is getting heated. No tariffs under the WTO.

Ok, nothing like watching 20 minutes of Chuck Todd to come running back to Morning Joe.  I will never stray again.

Oakville, thanks as always for the recap.  The opening of the show made me laugh, it was a good start.  I think maybe we'll be seeing more of Podhoretz because of his depth of Trump trivia  knowledge (Todd actually kept referring to him last night as J-Pod.  I'm surprised he didn't punch him in the throat).  Boy, Mika and Joe are certainly in love today.  She was listing at a 45 degree angle.  A few more degrees and she would have been in Joe's lap.

Hee, I must have left the room as I didn't hear that.  The first thing I did when I saw that he was on was scan the table to see if he brought that book with him.
