Mika is good at making faces to the Camera. The new thing is that Joe ignores Mika when she is trying to go to break & just keeps talking. Mika then talks to other panelists while trying to get Joe's attention. It's funny.

I disagree with Elise Jordan politically, but I respect her presence on this show. She's not afraid to push back on Joe and she does it capably and articulately - not with eye-rolling and preening.

The one thing that has become clearer than ever by watching this show and other chattering class shows is how there is a permanent foreign policy apparatus in this country, that changes little from administration to administrstion. This show has the same damn guests on - Hill, Hayden, the guy from the Fletcher School who was on this morning, etc. This show repeatedly says that McMaster and Mattes are the kinds of people Clinton would have picked.  We're doomed for a future of a permanent state of low-grade war (which we accept, because we are warned by them that it's better than a permanent state of high-grade war.) Then they all cluck over cocktails at the Council of Foreign Relations. Anyone who threatens that status quo gets shut down pretty quickly. Even Trump, who sort of campaigned against that, has been put to heel, as someone once put it.

Unfortunately , Mika tested poorly when she did a few guest spots on the Today Show. She had a poor Q rating. CBS made an offer to Joe to take over the CBS morning show pre-Rose & Odonnell  without Mika. He said no. His love for Mika trumped money. !

Excellent point!. joe said Washington always wins. He might be right on the foreign policy front.

Former Defense Secretary Cohen came on the show. He said the USA should irritate not humiliate N. Korea. China does not want a unified Korea. Too many capitalists & Democrats close to the borer. They want to keep N Korea as a client state.

The panel is upset about Turkey. The no side won the three largest cities but lost the rural areas. Erdogan wants to stay in power till 2029. No checks & balances with him. He fired judges he didn't like. 200K workers who are suspected of supporting the coup were fired or jaied.

Jeremy Peters said the Democrats have no bench players.The kochs are too rich & wantto tke control of school boards & state levels of govyt.

The panel discussed Trump not releasing white house visitor logs. It's not transparent & Trump complained about Obama not being transparent in 2012.

Tuesday Recap: Mika & Joe laughed at Trump meeting with the Easter Bunny. It's back to polls!. Trump now at 40% with Gallup which was devastating. Joe was upset that the polls did not how a bump in his favor after the missile attack. It is conventional wisdom that Presidents get a bump when they bomb countries.

Barnicle said Trump is not behaving like a traditional President. People are upset about his tweets.

Joe said his 14 Trump Supporter friends in Pensacola aren't as happy with Trump now. They are tuning him out like they did with Obama & Reagan.

Joe said Presidents usually get ignored after 6 years. Trump did in 3 months.

Everyone is tired of Trump.

Mika disagreed with Joe saying that ratings on cable news are high & people are buying more subscriptions to the Ny Times.

Mika is wearing her Neapolitan Ice Cream Scarf.

Joe said that Trump should watch Morning Joe and listen to him. Joe shouted check the trancripts! Joe bragged that he was right about not fighting with the press or the FBI or Chuck Shumer or Paul Ryan. Joe said it's tough to win in Washington.

Joe said Trump needs a better advisor with congressional experience from the Florida Panhandle who can help him improve ratings.

Joe mocked Trump's electoral college victory. he said it was better than W Bush but the worst for the GOP since Hayes.

C'Mon Joe, he should know how difficult it is for the GOP to win the Electoral College since 1988. Joe is being obtuse about politics.

Rutenberg watched Russian TV. He said the Russians are mad at Trump. It's like 1984. The Russians believe the chemical attack was a false flag by rebels.

Joe is mad at Trump for congratulating Turkey on the referendum.

Joe said voters are confused by the Trump flip/flops.

 Costa said that there aren't many Trump Republicans running in Georgia. Some are regular GOP Congress candidates that will fight for the district .

Joe said it's like 2009. A revolt against Obama began. Now it is a revolt against Trump.

Doug Lute Ambassador to NATO came on and said Turkey is an important ally. Joe got mad at him and said Turkey isn't a democracy anymore. The ambassador was worried about a flood of muslim refugees invading Europe.

Kasie ! showed up again wearing one of Mika's scarfs. She interviewed a disgruntled Republican. he is mad at Trump.

Kasim reed , Mayor of Atlanta thinks Ossof will get at least 45% of the vote today.

The Professor who predicted a trump victory & now Trump impeachment showed up. He said Trump could be impeached on conflict of interest charges and immoluments clause. No gifts from foreign powers. The professor said the Chinese are helping Trump with business in the Chinese country. Some new hotels will open. The professor said the Chinese will let Trump run an escort service in Beijing!. Joe had to calm him down and said that was a different Trump.

It would be inapproriate for the President to have a Trump branded escort Service. Mika made a frowny face.

The professor is a bit whacky.

At the end of the show, they discussed pop culture. Mika said she had never watched the shows they were talking about.

Mika & Joe were surprised that there will be a snap election in the UK. It's 3 years early

I think Joe has been chasing Mika since the Scarborough Country days. Joe picked her to be his co host. She came from a prominent Democratic family. She was looking to rebuild her profile. She begged MSNBC for the 2 minute segments on the hour. In her book, she wrote hat she was upset that MSNBC did not give her a wardrobe budget. Joe was very generous with his bonus & gave some of it to Mika. Her career has soared since co hosting Morning Joe.

They are probably right in saying avoiding a runoff was the Dems' best chance for GA-06, but they are wrong in saying that this reflects cracks in the "resistance." Ossoff is the kind of candidate the DNC establishment types cream themselves over - Georgetown U, congressional intern/aide - who campaigns on the promise of turning the district into a new Silicon Valley (ignoring that not everyone who lives in Silicon Valley is benefitting from it.) But for cripes sakes the twerp didn't even live in the district! Yet the Dem establishment pumped so much money into that race. Perez sounded like a fool spinning this as a victory. Especially given how the DNC could barely send $3000 to the Kansas candidate two weeks ago. The Resistance is alive and well - look at the town halls, including the Ernst one they showed - but the DNC can't be trusted anywhere near it.

Scarborough was bloviating about Jeremy Corbin being a disaster. I guess the proof will be in the pudding in the upcoming elections, but I suspect that Scarborough's knowledge base of U.K. politics is based on occasionally reading the Daily Mail and watching Liverpool FC.

Mika & Joe are in Washington!. Joe is wearing  a test pattern suit with ayellow & blue striped tie. Eugene is there. Mika is dressed in black because Ossof did not win 50% in Georgia.

Mika was happy that he got 48% but Joe was mad that the DNC did not listen to him. He wants all the parade marchers to go to Georgia & knock on doors & use phone banks. Joe said that Democrats are incompetent when it comes to a ground game in GOP districts.

Joe laughed at Ossof for wasting 8 million on TV ads. Joe said TV ads are useless for these district races.

Kasie said the GOP is running a country club candidate. Joe laughed. Kasie! apologized. Kasie was upset that Ossof did not win outright. It was their best chance to take the GOP by surprise.

Everyone on the panel is happy that the GOP Senators like Jodi is rebelling against Trump. She wants the tax returns released & Trump to stay in the White House.

They found Trump tweets about his properties in Turkey. He wants to be nice to Turkey's president because he wants to keep his hotel full. Joe said its a conflict of interest.

Mika was excited that her appartment which is up for sale was in the Style section of the Washigton Post. Mika put the paper down for the next segment.

The Iran Nuclear deal is complicated.Isaacson said the radicals in Iran would want sanctions against Iran to get rid of moderates

Eugene said the benefits for Iran are front loaded. Obama was very generous to Iran . They will have to show their nuclear weapons programs in a few years. They promise not to destroy Israel for a few years.

May in the UK is callig a snap election. She wants to get legimate by being elected. She will get a bigger majority with an opposition in disarray. Corbyn is a Bernie Sanders type. Neeley said it was like a pitbull with a pork chop terrier.

I saw Ossoff on Hardball  I think a while back and thought he was fantastic.  He didn't seem awkward at all and if anyone can get thru an interview with Chris Matthews, that's quite an accomplishment, between the interruptions and the yelling and stupid comments. 

What Ossoff is accomplishing in that district is pretty much like destroying the Death Star.

I was sleepy last night but I think I recorded Rachel. I saw the beginning of this.  Stupid and/or nefarious sums up Trump and his gang of miscreants.

Was Glenn Thrush the guy on the left side of the set, to mika's right?  He spoke glowingly of how Trump is wonderful working a crowd and how crowds love him?
That whole segment was so irritating.  It's one reason I've grown to hate the show.  Mika and Joe talk over top of each other CONSTANTLY.  Joe intentionally interrupts because it's his thing... although it's rude as hell and distracting and makes following anyone's train of thought impossible.  And because he does that, Mika feels free to make small meaningless exclamations and look around and mug and... it's all just so so weird.
I wish it wasn't weird.  I wish they had serious (but still fun) guests who can speak with plenty of space to voice their full thoughts, and I wish that would lead to thoughtful discussion.  But instead, I change the channel to watch Mike & Mike do sports news, which is only marginally less terrible.

The gang is back in NY. Mika has a new greenish scarf. Cokie & Katty are on set. Joe is happy that Trump is tough on Iran,Syria & North Korea.

Joe was mad at the Iran deal which gave too much money to Iran & allows them to delay building a nuclear bomb for a few years. Iran is still complying with the deal but Trump wants to rip it up.

the panel is happy that China is putting pressure on North Korea. Joe said the deal that Trump made with China is working. It was an extra piece of chocolate cake & free trade with China in exchange for stopping North Korea nuclear weapons.

Cokie is upset that 2M Syrian refugees are still not safe after the missile strike.

The new joke is that Trump administration is like Veep.

Joe likes crazy Trump. It keeps everyone confused.

Mika smiled & beamed at Joe. Joe is wearing a suit with a nice navy & yellow striped tie.

Cokie is interrupting Joe. Joe does not like that.

Joe said the USA did not lose an aircraft carrier. He said the Navy keeps track of air carriers.

Japan is happy. South Korea is confused by the USA. They don't want a nuclear bomb attack on Seoul.

Everyone is excited by the fall of Bill Oreilly. It will make it easier for MSNBC to compete.

Believe it or not, Cokie used to be a well respected analyst on ABC with David Brinkley. George Will was also on that show.

its nice of Mika & Joe to let them come on the show. 

Cokie was hilarious in 2015 when she argued that Hillary would win the election because people liked her as a Grandma.
