Mika is mad that she visited Michigan kids to discuss cyberbullying.

Mika said it was hypocritical given that Trump does it all the time to people including Mika.

Joe went on a 5 minute rant about all the insults that Trump made to his opponents.

Joe bragged that he has been going to the White House for 20-25 years. Mika has been going for 40 years.

Where are the pictures of Marines & regular people? There were pictures of Trump's crowds at the inauguration.

Willie said that it's not a bad thing that Melania is talking about Bullies.

Mika rolled her eyes.

I wonder what provoked this latest outburst by Joe?

Next topic. What's going on Niger? What happened to the troops? Was it an ambush?

No one knew that there were 1000 troops in Niger.

It's sad that they are doing this investigation because Trump insulted Mrs Johnson & the Cowboy Congresswoman.

I too was surprised that Stahl pushed Mika so hard -- and don't know why the focus is always on Mika's perspective (same in recent articles).  I guess because she was the last to divorce, the assumption is she was the hold out.  Her narrative seems true but who knows about the timeline.  

I guess we read it the same -- that Mika's family is less supportive.  I wonder if that is why she wants to hold onto her house too -- for her daughters.

I am shocked that Mika would agree to those questions.  The anger in her eyes was very telling.

The strangest portion of this morning was that conservative author who claims to have experienced the "real" America by hanging out at NASCAR and shooting animals and so on, and is now a conservative having eschewed his liberal politics.
He's smug and facile with an absolute lack of charm.  Not a great combo.  Love his take on gun crimes, actual murders are down (according to him, over an arbitrary period of time) so as a nation there is no problem and we've got this all figured out.  There's nothing to fix!  We've already fixed it, stupid liberals!
Willie engaged with him and was slightly not boring, and Mika offered nothing except barely hidden contempt.
One thing he did say, also cherry picked data of questionable meaning, is that 50% of voters don't even know a person who voted for the opposing candidate. 
His whole premise was reductive to the point of nonsense, and, his target audience is conservative book buyers (plenty of jokes there) and so he should be on Fox.

But to get back to Mika.. she really should prepare better and engage with her guests.  She's just so not good.

Will Joe even bother to look up Flake's voting record ? Long time viewers of Morning Joe will recall Joe's passionate defense of background checks after the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in 2012 near his home. Joe went on rants for several weeks about requiring more background checks. It looks like Senator Flake voted against background checks. Will Joe mention this tomorrow?

Wednesday Recap. The panel was excited that a 96% Principled Conservative was quitting politics to battle the evil NY Democrat Trump. Joe called Trump a Democrat. Barnicle said that Pro Trump Conservatives are turning the party into a Dumpster Fire.! Joe trashed Trump for giving money to Democrats.

KasieDC! has her own musical intro when she appears.

Has the panel ever seen anything like it?

The end of the GOP is near according to Joe! Bannon supports convicted criminals!.

Why would this panel care about the "threat to Conservatism"?

Corker & Flake are the San Andreas Fault of the GOP according to over the top Barnicle

No comment on Jeff Flake's unpopularity with voters? Why was he trailing the whacky Kelli Ward in the primary?

No comment of Flake flip - flopping on Gun Control & lying to  Congresswoman Giffords who begged him for her vote ?

Flake was a Goldwater & Reagan Republican according to Joe.

Flake voted against funding the New Orleans hurricane in 2005. LOL! Yes, the GOP needs more of these characters.

Flake is so principled that he and his maverick buddy McCain both voted to block consumers from being allowed to sue banking institutions yesterday.

I'm wondering about this too. Is it because Flake wrote a book criticizing Trump? Is it because Bannon had him as a target? I've heard only ridiculous things about Kelli Ward. Why would the Republicans in Arizona turn on such a conservative guy like Flake? If it's because they love Trump so much, that is scary, but maybe not surprising?

Edited to add: Now Joe is ranting about Republicans needing to say "No" to Trumpism by running candidates that oppose him. That won't work because they will get primaries by the base. If these so-called "principled" politicians really want to stop Trump, they should switch parties and flip the Senate so at least one institution can act as a check against his excesses.

Why didn't Mika mention the specific allegations?

In 2011, Mika & Joe goaded Halperin into calling Obama a "dick" on the show & he was suspended by MSNBC.

The baseball bit at the start of each show is starting to play like a vaudeville comedy act.   Picture Fred Mertz and Ricky Ricardo as Mike Barnicle and Joe Scarborough, and Ethel Mertz as Mika.   Fred and Ricky kick it off:

FRED/BARNICLE:  "Say Rick, did you see the big game last night?"

RICKY/SCARBOROUGH:  "I sure did, Fred, what a game huh?" 

FRED/BARNICLE:  "That it was, that it was.  Say, Rick, did you know baseball is the only sport mentioned in the Bible?"

RICKY/SCARBOROUGH:  "Oh ho!   I think you're pulling my leg!

FRED/BARNICLE:  "No sirree.  Just look at the very first sentence (pantomines opening a book and following a line with his finger)  "In the big inning ..."

Today I may have hit the upper end of the threshold I can stomach for their complaining of Trump.  Elyce re: Trump's Ivy League bragging was too much for me somehow, and then Mika interrupted her to say that "he's like the guy who needs the sports car, y'know?  He's definitely overcompensating for something, y'know?"  Weiner jokes, Mika?  The sports car guy stereotype, Mika?  What insights.

I missed all the baseball talk and the mention of the Halperin business (spellcheck changed that to "Hampering"!), but I was happy to see my favorite guest, Robert Costa, on the show. He just seems so knowledgeable and serious, unlike many of MJ's guests. And I like to watch him throughout the day as he becomes slightly more ruffled-looking but never any less serious. He's all slicked-back hair and clean-shaven on MJ (although he seems to be one of those guys who has a 5 o'clock shadow right after he shaves).  By the time he shows up on BW's show, his hair is all curly and a bit disheveled, and he looks as though he hasn't shaven in a week.

It's the journalists (the Costas and the Philip Ruckers and the Ashley Parkers, etc.) who will save us from this nightmare, if, that is, we can still be saved.

Real news is slipping through the cracks.

Yesterday a judge threw out a class action lawsuit brought by 18 states to force Trump to pay the ACA/Obamacare subsidies, dashing the hopes of many Obamacare customers.   Totally ignored.

A few days ago Trump signed an executive order authorizing the recall of at least 1000 retired military pilots.  Gee, I wonder why he's doing this.  He couldn't be preparing for war, could he?   Totally ignored.

Yesterday the Senate voted to kill a law that makes it easier for people to sue banks that screw them over.  Totally ignored.

Also yesterday Trump rescinded many of the previous FAA restrictions against drones, paving the way for Amazon, Walmart and other retailers to send drones into the airspace over our neighborhoods, yards and heads.   The relaxing of restrictions will enable drones to be flown beyond the view of operators, above people and traffic, and at night (all of which were previously forbidden).   Prepare to see -- and hear -- commercial drones everywhere, buzzing you, following you, filming you, whatever corporate America wants.  Totally ignored by show.
