Timothy Carney being the worst of the bunch

Who is this guy?  That guy was so angry at Acosta, I thought he was a Stephen Miller surrogate.   Then Joe joined in, and I was like... ah, ok.  I get it.  Blood in the water and let's all be offended and normalize Miller's insanity.

Timothy P. Carney is the commentary editor at the Washington Examiner and a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

In the early years of this century, he would have been called a neo-con.

The defense of Stephen Miller was disgusting.   It was like, sure, Miller was completely out of line BUT JIM ACOSTA!

No one even commented on Miller's descent into near incoherence, tossing out covfefe phrases like "cosmopolitan bias" (last demonstrated by Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes) and my favorite, which Miller repeated at least thrice, "the Statue of Liberty law of the land."   WTF is the Statue of Liberty Law of the Land?  And what did it have to do with one million or nine hundred thousand or five hundred thousand immigrants?   I think Acosta was disarmed trying to make sense of the word salad flying from Stephen Miller's mouth.

I thought Joe was supposed to get Miller removed from the White House?

Why didn't the other White House Press Corps members support Acosta when he defended the Statue of Liberty Poem?

The panel conceded that the words from the poem are not US Law.

Couldn't Democrats run on a more generous immigration policy in 2018?

Friday Recap. Mika is wearing a black blazer & white top. Joe is wearing a light blue blazer.with a purple & white shirt.

It's felony friday. The panel is giddy about the Grand Jury. Joe said this could lead to Trump's impeachment.

The panel mocked Trump's electio victory in West Virginia. It was only by 42%. Joe compared it to Landon vs FDR in 1936.

Donnie said Russians overpaid for property in Trump Tower in exchange for money launddering from the casinos.

Donnie wa upset that there were no latinos or African Americans at Trump rallies.

Joe ssaid Trump is down to 33%. This is what's left of his support.

Heidi Presbella is happy that Flake & McConnell pushing back at Trump.

Joe is baffled why call transcripts are being leaked to the press. Joe thinks Its a inside job. It makes the press look bad for leaking articles.

Joe was mad at the press for leaking the location of black sites in Europe.

The journalist said the White house did not oppose releasing the transcripts.

Woodward is on. He flattered Joe by talking about his days in Congress.

Mika & Joe said Trump talks like a juke box.He has a few canned clips on any random issues.

Has Joe use "Panhandle bias" yet this morning?  See, cuz he's just a simple country boy from the Panhandle of Florida.  Dontcha know?

Did they discuss the phone conversations Trump had with world leaders?  Those are fucking bonkers.  Did they speculate who could have leaked them?  It's not Spicey or Rancid, they're gone.  Who is wearing the white hat in the white house?

Why doesn't he call him "Little Stephen Miller" anymore? Like from the good ole' days of January 2017, before everything was this nuts.

Mika introduces the segment on Trump's rally in WV by saying, " and from Trump's campaign rally last night."  Hee.  I see what you did there, Mika.

edited to add:  Evelyn Farkas is making some great disgust/incredulity faces when talking about Jared Kushner and his "we don't need no stinkin' books" comment.  She's usually really subdued.

Mika & Joe would need Al Sharpton to approve bringing him back. Buchanan offended African Americans. Mika & Joe were willing to set up a debate between both sides, but Msnbc rejected the debate.

Jared didn't like Miller & got Joe to trash talk Little Steven.

Joe no longer likes Jared, so Joe doesn't feel like trash talking Stephen.

Jared also refused to help Joe kill the national enquirer story about his affair with Mika.

There was a time in 2016 when Barnicle bragged about attending the Trump rallies. It was a good time.

Its weird that Trump never visits states that didn't vote for him.

This is a pretty common nickname for that part of Florida. I don't think that Joe originated the term, nor do I think that the folks there find it particularly insulting.

What would be the point? You can't expect him to appear before anything less than an adoring crowd. <<insert eyeroll>> I'd personally like to see him in a town hall with a politically (and hey, racially!) mixed crowd.

I must have stepped out of the room when all of the Buchannan love began. What brought that on? I just started watching the show again a few months ago, so I would hate for good ole' Pat to return, I'd rather not see him and I have no interest in his opinions.

I am worried that Joe is suffering from amnesia. Today he mocked Ted Cruz for being a wimp & not going after Trump after he insulted his wife 1 year ago. ?

What did Joe do after Trump called out Joe & "his longtime insecure girlfriend "Mika on twitter in June or July 2016.

He tried to get interviews at Mar A Largo on NYE. He sent Mika to Trump Tower after the election to meet with Ivanka. He & Mika accepted lunch  at the White House & bragged that Trump & Jared offered to marry them. He thanked Trump for calling about his son. All these factors indicate that Joe's attacks "on air" against Trump were part of a show, whereas they were personally much friendlier. This is all BS.

If Joe had any Cojones , he would run for public office against Trump. He won't because his ego couldn't take an electoral defeat if he ran in Florida.

I have heard the term "redneck riviera" used by others than Joe. However, Joe has become increasingly condescending towards his former district over the past year. I would not want to be called a redneck by my representative in Congress..

I think that a President should show respect for states that didn't vote for him by showing up & having townhalls & facing voters in other states.

Buchanan has personal knowledge of the Nixon impeachment. Buchanan's campaign in 92 is very similar to what Trump was doing to the GOP base during the primaries.

The last 30 minutes of the show was interesting. The employment numbers came out better than expected 209K vs 180K . Unemployment fell to 4.3% and wages were up 0.3%. Eugene said it was odd because it's full employment but Labor Force participation is lower than expected. Trump is taking credit for the good news, but people are making less money at Walmart than in old jobs. Watch out for retail sector. Willie said the Dow is up. Willie said good news should not be a partisan political number. Joe said it takes a few years to get the results of Trump's policies.

Joe mocked the Trump 33% rally in West Virginia. Then he bashed Democrats saying 33% of them believed that W Bush blew up the World Trade Center & was the architect of 9/11.

They showed people supporting Trump & having fun at the rally. They still support Trump. That was dumb questio by pretty boy, Lewis Borgnoff. If they didn't like Trump, why would they be at a Trump rally?

Al Sharpton came on at the end of the show. He said that Trump still has a base that feels that he understands them.

Sharpton was mad at the Democrats for marginalizing African Americans & taking them for granted. They could have made the difference in Michigan & Pennsylvania. The Democrats ignored Black radio & Black Churches. They should stop trying to get swing votes by people who don't really vote much.

Joe reminded the panel that Trump voters are mad at the elites & warned Deocrats to stop looking down at Trump voters.

Sharpton told Democrats to stop flirting with marginal voters & focus on the African American & Liberal base.

He said that Trump feeds on the resentment against the elites. He was from Queens & the Manhattan elites did not like him.

It was a nice rest from the Trump is a Russian puppet stories .

Mika fawned over Joe's article in the Washington Post about Jared & Ivanka leaving the White House.

Joe said he knew how to read rooms at political events.

I think all elected officials should do town halls in their respective states; and if Trump insists on these horrible rallies, someone in the press should shout out to him when they get a chance ... is he afraid of having a rally in a blue state.  Or some such.  Meek-a and Joe should bring this up.  The next time they have a politician on (which is every other five minutes) they should ask him/her when was the last time they held a town hall.  Then Meek-a could purse her lips and Joe could smirk.  It would be a win all-around.  I wish Joe would imitate Sarah Huckabee/Sanders every single day.  It is one of the few laugh-out-loud moments I get from this show.

That bit about "33% of Democrats believed Bush did 9/11" Joe gave was fairly disingenuous.  To be sure, that was a fact, but that belief was widely supported all around the country.  And let's not forget that Alex Jones was THE loudest voice of that movement.

I remember Joe holding a grudge against Little Marco Rubio since 2010. Joe wanted to be Senator from Florida, but the GOP wouldn't clear the field for him. Joe was. Furious that Gov Charlie Christ lost to Rubio & ran as an independent. Joe never believed that Rubio was better qualified than him to represent Florida. Joe and other #NotSureAboutTrumpers  keep saying this, unchallenged, and its infuriating. Trump's non-Republican previous political foray was with the Reform Party in 2000. At the time its other leaders were Pat Buchanan and David Duke, both who Trump felt were too far right for him after all (although he took a lot of Buchanan's "America First" agenda in his campaign, with Buchanan's blessings.)  Joe wants Republicans to get whatever benefits they can from Trump now, but not be stuck with his baggage later on. He needs to just own it and accept that, at a minimum, Trump has rebranded the Republican Party as Reagan did with a different agenda in 2980.

Good point. You never hear Scarborough referring to his beloved Ronald Reagan as a "former Democrat." Reagan only registered as a Republican at the age of 51, and was a New Deal Democrat up to then, even campaigning for Democrats. Trump flitted about, was briefly a Dem, spent most of his life unaffiliated or associated with the Reform party, but in Joe World he is a lifelong Democrat. Sorry, but that dog don't hunt.

Good points!. I think it is hilarious that Mika is  probably hiding in the bedroom while Joe is bellowing & bloviating from the bunker. I would love to see Mika wearing pajamas barging into the bunker & telling him to shut up.

IMHO, the solution would be to let Willie & Elise, Cackles or Kasie! co host while the King & Queen of Nantucket are on holidays. Are Joe & Mika afraid that the replacements would get better ratings than them? That would hurt at contract renewal time.

I bet they are a little worried... is interesting that Cackles has held court lately when they are away.  She is very talented and could probably do a great job running the show.  Seems like they want at least one of the three of them on (Joe, Mika, and/or Willie) at any one time.

Tuesday Recap. Joe is in the Nantucket Bunker. Mika is off in"the South of France":)  Most important topic: A CNN poll shows Trump's approval down to 38%. This is a disaster. Only Clinton is close at 44%. The panel forgot that Clinton was re elected in 1996 despite a disastrous first 6 months.

Joe is going on & on about low poll numbers. This will affect Congress in 2018. Joe wants Trump to have Conservative Values !

The poll issue was serious enough that they had Kristen Soltis " Hillary won't get less than 320 EV" Anderson.

She said 24% approval is low.

Joe made fun of Sam Stein attending a drug infested den of Dartmouth.

Joe is showing polls of challengers to Trump like Kasich & Pence.

The show opened with a parody of Pence not running for President in 2020 but doing Presidential things.

Joe made fun of the tea party supporters who didn't want government healthcare but didn't want medicare touched.

  • Love 2

Soltis is mentioning that people were upset with Obamacare.

Joe said people aren't ideological about Healthcare. They want good care at a good price.

Joe is parroting whatever Kristin said 30 seconds before. He repeated the word "ideological" 5 times. in 2 minutes.

Joe talked about gerrymandering without mentioning it. The Democrats could still lose in 2018 even with low approval for Trump.

The districts have a GOP bias.

Ford said Pelosi is more unpopular than Trump. Ford said Clinton had no message. What?

Joe's hair today is darker & less poufy. The lighting in his bunker is low.

Joe said that the Democrats are a Coastal party.

Today is a lo energy panel. Joe trying to host from a bunker doesn't work.

Joe is now bragging about the Contract with America in 1994!. Glory Days for Joe!

Joe bragged that the platform was so popular that Democrats voted for it. Joe is mocking the Democrats square deal.Joe doesn't even know what the Democrats platform is.

Barnicle said that the Democrats should fire their consultants! LOL!. Barnicle attends fundraisers with those consultants.

Almiche talked to landscapers in Texas. It is very hot in Texas in the summer. Climate change is serious.! The Democrats should campaign on cooler summers!.

Progressives love the Climate Change issue. Almiche is upset at the focus on the white working class. Hillary won all working class voters.

Almiche is in a library.

Barnicle gets a Glamor shot at a baseball hat.

Joe thinks that Trump knew about a bad poll the day before. That's why he tweeted so much yesterday.

Joe mocked Trump's tweets.

They haven't mentioned Trump tweeting throughout the show.

Joe believes that Pence will run for President in 2020. Wouldn't that happen if Trump resigned due to poor health? or he resigns?

Elise is wearing a lovely red sleeveless dress from the Mika pre 2016 collection.

Kristin & Joe both need new highlights in their hair. It's too dark.

Kasich is leading Pence in NH. Kasich is winning in NH against Trump!

I think it is ridiculous to spend the first hour of the show talking about the 2020 election. Why not discuss North Korea? Policies to fix Obamacare?

I suspect that whoever books guests is on vacation.

The fication on polls is silly considering how wrong they were in 2016. Using a National Poll to forecast a 50 state Electoral College doesn't work.
