No, but Nikki and Vikki share three exes between them (and nearly a fourth before Braeden eighty-sixed a Jack/Victoria paring that was in the works shortly after AH came onboard), Stitch was with Abby's sister and mother, and it looks like Chelsea will bang Adam's other brother soon enough.

For sure there is a lot of nasty going around but Sharon wins nastiest of all.. just sayin''' no one has a resume like her. No familial resume anyway.

Absolutely! That's why I'm here in short bits. Lucky for you guys (that I don't get to drone on). It seems especially pernicious on the Y&R thread though. I only visit the political one otherwise and it doesn't seem to have been infested yet.

I have a hard time imagining anyone who's gonna try to take Diane's trifecta title.

Sharon perfected the Drive Thru, it is not to be denied.

Didn't Diane only bang Nick and Victor? Sharon has screwed Nick, both of his brothers, and his father. Two people from the same family vs four.

Oh man, the pornstache was apparently an omen. On Good Girls Revolt, I just watched Michael Graziadei's character--in some bizarre type of flirting, with his female research assistant, and in a public place--whip it out. Whip. It. Out. I'm assuming it was a prosthetic but if not, MG has quite a gift. Daniel's spell on Lily , Amber, and Daisy makes so much more sense now. ?

My fantasy was always that Summer be a mean girl. HK could pull it off (and be much less irritating in the process).

Coincidentally, yesterday I saw a movie on Netflix about a girl who was bullied so terribly that she was driven to a suicide attempt, and the bully was none other than HK, and yes, she did a really good job.

Branden Stennis looks as if he could be Lily's child-same features (eyes, smile), posture and probably has her personality.  Too bad he wasn't cast as Charlie.

I thought this is the boy who will be playing Charlie, who I agree does look a lot like CK.

Well, Chelserella has been with all those same guys except Victor. The love of her life wasn't dead 2 weeks before she was flirting with Nick in romcom com scenes. Yet, she seems to get a pass.

ya but adding daddy dearest to the mix makes it so much worse.. and Chelsea has only done Adam and Dylan and there is no tie there at all..and flirting just is not the same as banging..

Chelsea and Sharon arrived as different types of characters. Chelsea the grifter was already knocked up with Billy's r--e baby (masking the word because I know not everyone saw what Chelsea did to Billy as an assault) and Sharon was a starry-eyed ingenue. I think Chelsea has been written to be more calculated about her romances than Sharon has been--for the most part. I see Sharon as haplessly tripping and falling from one mistake to another while Chelsea makes measured choices

I doubt if commenting on the child actor's skin color is very productive;

Except for part where the issue is not as simple as his skin tone. I'll give TPTB the benefit of the doubt and allow that they probably didn't realize how this casting could be taken by the portion of their audience who would be sensitive to the deeper cultural issues at play. However, I 'd be surprised if they haven't been made aware of the problematic aspects by now. I'm not calling for the little boy to fired or anything like that. It would be decent though, IMO, if someone among the higher-ups acknowledged that they're aware of what looks like some cultural insensitivity on the part of whoever approved the casting. (And I hope to hail they weren't trying to use KSJ as a shield.)

Except that Chelsea is written, played, and pushed as the show's lead heroine. She's been "redeemed" from her intro story to be given a cinderella style romance. Even  her terrible choices she made after, such as lying about  Connor's paternity, were the idea of someone  else with her being pushed into it by someone else, namely  Chloe. At the age of 35, She's currently every bit the ingenue Sharon ever was at 18.  Chloe's character has really paid a price for their friendship.

I don't think the show is using KSJ at all. If anything he's trying to turn this little controversy into something bigger for buzz and leverage BTS.

^Remember back on this website's former iteration when WitsandSass named this grifty con, "Chelserella"?

Heh. It definitely fits. Being a Star Trek fan, I preferred Chibble in reference to those fuzzy little creatures that were born pregnant and who took over the Enterprise in much the same way Chelz took over in the year before JFP brought on her pampered pets.

Achtung herren und damen.... SOD is still being sold some places. I bought my first copy in a while (I used to buy it every week for years upon years). I just stopped since my remaining shows became so disrespectfully shitty and if networks and producers didn't care why should I?

Guys, you should check out Melody Thomas Scott's Twitter. OMG. Now that Sally Sussman is back, MTS is voicing her displeasure with some of the former writers and storylines. She has zero fucks to give.

Without embedding, any juicy quotes?

I would embed quotes, but it's mostly MTS answering questions from fans and also re-tweeting- too many to post here.

A couple of things that she tweeted......

She said that the "contrived" storyline about "crazy" Sharon burning down the Ranch only happened because JPF wanted to redo that set and to match another set from "Hollywood Heights". The fire at the Ranch happened about two weeks into JFP's tenure as head writer.

She (MTS) is not a fan of the "Underground" set. According to her, it's ugly and nothing ever happens there.

After reading the tweets, it's clear that JPF didn't give a damn about Y&R history and she did just did whatever the fuck she wanted. Seriously, where was Angelica MacDaniel?

I think what Mel was saying was that JFP wrecked the huge old ranch set to make room for the Underground - the new ranch is much smaller.

The Underground was the "Hollywood Heights thing."

And she's right. It's a joke and not at all Y&R.

Most of her tweets were about the ranch. And JFP not giving a fuck (as Ezzylin said).

Great casting. He does look a lot like AH. It will be interesting seeing Victoria deal with older kid stories. She has never been in that situation.

Has that been a case of AH looking too young to have an adolescent child?  If yes, that makes no sense since the actress has a nearly adult son in real life.

It's worth noting that AH originally auditioned for the role of 20-something Makenzie Browning before being offered Victoria. Make of that what you will...I know I was jarred for months after she came onboard because she looked so much younger than Heather Tom's Victoria (who was in her early 30s at the time).

But I think Reed's slow SORAS had a lot to do with the actor who's been playing him and the fact that soaps like to downplay the idea of women having children by more than one father.

Victoria didn't have a (living) child until nearly 20 years after she was SORASed so that played a big part.

I don't think that was the case since Nick is her younger brother and has adult kids. It was more of the case that Victoria became a parent later in life and I think they were slightly attached to the kid who played Reed. They doesn't seem to be the case anymore and I suspect the fact she has two smaller children has allowed them to finally branch out in her stories. No need for Victoria's son to live off screen and have her with three small kids. Glad they aged him up and now she can play these kind of stories. A nice change for her especially with her love life gone to hell. Refocus her character and let her deal with obvious teen angst to come. Reed should be a little bitter and I am sure will feel some type of way about Johnny and Katie, especially Johnny.

The actor certainly has Amelia's eyebrows, so there's that.  One thing I wouldn't like to see SSM return to is the teen storyline.  The show has kind of moved on from that over the years, which is nice, as the teen storyline is also usually home to the son of hivthevirusthatcausesAIDS storylines.  And I'd argue teen viewers have long since moved on from watching TV.

Sadly, there's so much truth to that. I came of age right around the reality boon of the early 2000s and no one else I know at my age IRL follows soaps. Even in high school, the other kids were into Passions and saw CBS and ABC shows as stuffy and boring :(

I disagree, the teen set of Billy, Mac, Brittany and Raul got me into the show personally.  But that's not why I think they shouldn't abandon teens, I think teens are essential to the multi-generational feel of soap operas. Too much of soaps has become people who are vaguely 30-45 years old screwing each other.

Teen scenes get a bad rap, I think, because many shows focus on the younger set to the detriment of established characters or they're given such inane ridiculous tripe.

But I agree that teen stories are a foundation to soaps and keep that generational aspect going. They should not be the bulk of the story, but that's true of any set. And as Bradley Bell learned the hard way in 2012, you can't lean on your vets to carry your show forever.

I liked the teen scene. Besides damn near all the "vets" were introduced via the teen scene. That is how we used to learn about these characters. We watched them develop from young adults to the screwed up misfits they are now. The show used to be mutli generational and it needs to go back to that. I don't need them leading stories but having younger characters around is never a bad thing. I suspect Reed is the start of that. They will likely build that scene around him like they did around so many others back in the day.
