NextIteration January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 Indeed, why not Ana Navarro. I get a kick out of her and she's one of very few GOP pundits that I can stand. 2 Link to comment
Haleth January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 I imagine some of the contributors found other projects and are unavailable to be on. Good for them. Darn it! I rushed home just to hear Whoopi go off on Trump. Forgot she isn't there on Fridays. Link to comment

Seriously, do you think Ana and Padme are home, twiddling their thumbs, waiting for one of these idiots to get the sniffles? Of course not, that's Sarah's job. 1 Link to comment
rcc January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 Bite your tongue, rcc...or maybe your fingers. If Whoopi weren't an expert in all things--especially relationships, no publisher would have given her a book deal. The View's producers wouldn't let her shill her book on the teevee. Sorry to be harsh, but sometimes corrections are needed. Well, I can't argue about the brilliance of book publishers or View producers when it comes to Miss Whoopi. LOL Interestingly, Trump can't take a bit of criticism......kinda like Whoopi. OTOH - at least tomorrow we won't be watching Whoopi sputtering......"Donald, my friend, YOU CANNOT......" Yes, thank you very much for my one day of viewing The View. I notice that Joy had nothing to say about Trump today though. 1 Link to comment
Jaded January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 Did they say "Live on The View" at the start of the show? I ask because it didn't seem like the show was recorded today. Link to comment

"Supposedly" they're doing the show "live" on Fridays, so there's that .... I'm still choked that Joy didn't say anything about Trump!! 1 Link to comment
geekburger January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 was Whoopi saying she has been crabby for the last 10 months a dig at the show and production or what? 2 Link to comment
Former Nun January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 I enjoyed today's show today without You-Know-Whoo. Paula seemed happier, more outgoing, more participative..and even prettier! You-Know-Whoo can cast a BIG shadow. 2 Link to comment
TheGreenKnight January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 I think they may not have responded to Trump because he criticized Whoopi, too, and she wasn't there. They might wait until Monday to respond? Or just pretend like it never happened like everything else that happens to this show. They didn't talk about anything substantive, but I liked that everyone seemed to get along with Joy in charge. I have a hard time believing the prediction about Bernie. I mean, I wouldn't mind him, I guess, but I just don't see him beating Hillary, personally. 1 Link to comment

Or just pretend like it never happened like everything else that happens to this show. I'm thinking they won't pretend it didn't happen -- "make sparks," remember? I don't blame them for not going into it until Whoopi is there to respond, herself. Bigger sparks, dontcha know. My prediction is that they lead off with it on Monday (unless some actual news happens) and angle to get it covered as much as possible in the interest of "sparks." My cable went out fifteen minutes into the show. I blame Whoopi. 2 Link to comment

It was a mock election for college students. Bernie's popularity is skewed toward students. 2 Link to comment
Fannysue January 8, 2016 Share January 8, 2016 Today's conversations (Hot Topics) were so light and tepid that the show wasn't worth even watching! What a disappointment and waste of time. 4 Link to comment
maggiemae January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 Couldn't agree more Fannysue...... TMI about their sex lives....I could care less and am not interested. When it is so light and fluffy I can't stand Michelle and her "jokes." I'd count the "I's" included but I can't count that high.....well I can but then I'd only be into the show about 10 minutes and already at 3 digits. Actually, I don't think I've ever laughed at one....and I do love comedy. 4 Link to comment
Tunia January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 At one point during the sex lives discussion, the camera caught CCB giving a very concerned look to her daughter in the audience. It was pretty obvious that she didn't like her daughter having to sit through that. I was surprised earlier in the week when they first introduced CCB's daughter for just this reason. My initial thought was that no good could come of her being there. I just checked The View's age requirement for audience tickets and apparently Natasha makes it by a year (16 vs. 17), but I'm thinking she was "raised young" and some of the subject matter would be embarrassing for her. It might have been better if she were watching from the wings or backstage, from which she could retreat if she were so inclined. 3 Link to comment

Well, they could hardly play the whole show to one 17 year old which is what I thought when Whoopi kept apologizing to her for the topics. Was she there all week or just the one day? I do think some good came out of her being there though - the day I watched it CCB kept her mouth shut for most of the show. Ha! 4 Link to comment
maggiemae January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 I thought perhaps so as well Tunia.....but her daughter seemed comfortable with it.....and I thought that was good. The Bure's seem like a very nice family and I imagine CCB knew what her daughter was going to get in or of course already had seen watching her Mom's show. Not that CCB's politics and religionosity (?) is what I agree with.....but it works for them and I think CCB is better than Raven or Michelle any day of the week. 2 Link to comment
Cosmocrush January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 What a crap show today .. nothing but drivel! (Somehow, I knew Joy wouldn't have the gonads to call Trump on his latest B.S.) Thank you for the heads up MC. I skipped the whole mess even though I usually watch on Whoopi-Free Fridays. 2 Link to comment
telemachus2 January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 (edited) I saw enough of Friday's Tepid Topics to believe that it was not a live show, as Raven was wearing that absolutely execrable lavender/gray wig again, Candace's daughter was in the audience for the 2nd time this week, & Joy failed to respond to Trump's comments. Cementhead January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 Speaking of CCB --just WTF is up with her hair & makeup lately? Why the sudden morph into a pageant contestant from 1986? Sure, I know it's a Christian/Republican Fox TV thing that the women representing this demographic on tv are almost always very blonde, with white teeth and tans (see: Elisabeth H.) but this look with CCB is so very dated. The big hair is the main problem. Who wears it like anymore? Not to mention the odd beige shade of it and the heavy handed makeup. Regardless of her personal beliefs, I think we can all agree that she is a very pretty woman; she's as cute as a bug in a rug; so I just don't get it. It ages her and cheapens her. She certainly doesn't need the makeup gun to be set to 10 and to go through a can of Aquanet a week to look pretty. 8 Link to comment
fl2dc January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 Random thoughts: I don't think CCB is pretty. Overall she's attractive, but I don't think her face is pretty. Her hair and makeup don't bother me, and I think she dresses great most of the time. I wouldn't even call her a blond, I think at this point her hair is more red or strawberry blond! For some reason, maybe it's because of Whoopi's hatred of her, Paula is starting to annoy me. I think it's because I determined she is SO full of herself. She think she has a hot career in news (I watched GMA Weekend last weekend...and...not really. She's not Savannah Guthrie), she thinks she has a hot husband and adorable family and paints a picture that her and her husband just can't take their hands off each other, and she's pretty. I still like her but wish she'd tone down the cockiness. Link to comment
Foghorn Leghorn January 9, 2016 Share January 9, 2016 I agree re CCB's hair, would love to see her in something current and natural looking with a deeper shade to show off her blue eyes. Where are Ted and Carmindy from What Not to Wear! CCB's daughter is very cute but definitely came across very young to me not just in appearance with the double bun thing happening but she sat hunched over and giggling or something. It is clear they adore each other and that is great to see! 1 Link to comment

Okie Dokie, telemachus :) My comment above was literally the very 1st time I have ever, ever made a comment here that refers to a specific religion / political group because I am usually able to follow my own rule which is to avoid both topics with a ten foot pole. And I purposely tried very hard to make that comment as general and banal as I possibly could. So, thank you from this non-religious Canadian for the reminder to stick to my 10 foot pole rule. 4 Link to comment

She seems to have a thick head of hair that's going to look big no matter what. The problem lately is that her face color, whether due to tanning or makeup, and her hair color, brassy blonde, are too closely matched. 4 Link to comment
