I'm taking some solace in the fact that the Steelers have the 32nd pick in the draft due to the Claypool trade.

But the Dolphins we're relying on some dude I'd never heard of until Bridgewater went down last week. I'd say that's even worse than Flacco.

Gotta disagree.  Not the same elite Flacco that found away in Denver a decade ago, and Joe has done a ton.  Really just a 70 deep pass for a TD or a 70-yard pass interference play.

I don't agree because he's had success.  If Zach Wilson had started, then the game would've been over at 3:00 Eastern.

Well, amazing recovery for Pittsburgh, from 2-6 to 9-8.  More on how Jacksonville did something the Steelers didn't do later maybe.

Someone said the AFC has to be relieved that the Steelers didn't get in.  Completely disagree.  No one would've been concerned from the Steelers getting into the dance this year.  They've improved, but their offense is super-atrocious.  Maybe in future years, but not this year.  It would've been yet another rout at PIT's expense

So the Steelers travel to Vegas & host New England next season.  Their 17th game will be decided following the conclusion of Sunday Night Football

Sorta glad Houston lost the top pick.  Gives someone else a chance to draft Bryce Young since going to the Texans would be a failure of a career before the April draft that would precede that career

Gronk donated to Hamlin's charity. $6900. Because of course he did.

He's an unbearable idiot, but $6900 is $6900, even out of eight million; he'll never grow up, but that money will help actual children who will.

Don’t care about Miami, don’t like Pittsburgh, but Miami in the playoffs is meh.

I’d rather Pittsburgh had made the playoffs if only to not give Miami temptation to put Tua’s health at risk too soon.

I'm just gonna say it: the Bengals got screwed.  They were winning the Bills game 7-3 even though it was very early before the unfortunate incident occurred.

Big difference for them having to play in Buffalo versus possibly at home against them

Can't imagine anyone is fearing the Dolphins.

Seemed like Greg Gumble and the other guy calling the Steelers game was disappointed Miami won.

Buffalo got screwed too.  If the Monday night game had been played and they had won and they won today they would have got the number one seed and the bye.  All I can say is I will be rooting for any team KC is playing.  I know it's not their fault how things have played out but they are benefitting from it and it just rubs me the wrong way.

I agree.  I'm not impressed with his juvenile persona whether it's real or an act.

Yeah but if the Chiefs and Bills play in the AFC Championship game it's on a neutral site

The Bengals/Bills playoff game should be as well if they both win next week

I was just coming to comment on that.  I'm not sure why Buffalo & Cincinnati's game, if they both win, is at Orchard Park.  That shouldn't be there.  It should've come down to a coinflip or just have them play on a neutral field

No one fearing Miami because no one is going to face them.

The difference between Miami & Pittsburgh is that the former isn't built to dominate in cold weather, while Pittsburgh, a cold weather team, sucks offensively

In no one facing the Dolphins, that means nobody other than Buffalo

Imo the NFL wanted the Patriots to win after 9/11.  Just due to their name Patriots and red white and blue in their uniforms.

I kinda think the same thing about the Bills this year.  The league is going to angle to have them win for the storylines it can create.  Which I mean it's a team that's been overlooked by the NFL in the past imo.  But you know the home field advantage in a possible Bengals playoff game dont seem right.

I'm not too thrilled about that being the case, or wasn't in 2001-2002.  I think if anything, they'd have wanted the Giants and/or the Jets to win.  New England I could get if Roger was the top guy back them, but Paul was the man.

What's different between Buffalo and the Pats is that at least the Bills are actually good and have been so for the past couple of years.  New England as a garbage team carried into that 2001 season

I always thought this.

I'm not sure I would have ever trusted any commissioner not to put their thumb on the scale.

OT for Rams/Seahawks.  That's probably great news for Detroit and the NFL (LA can't lose though).

Dallas travelling to Tampa, who did beat them in Week 1.  Niners hosting at least 2 playoff games unless they (somehow) lose to Green Bay the winner of SNF unless both Seattle & Detroit win.  Eagles the top seed in the NFC

And Detroit is the 17th team booted.  Seattle needs the team they just knocked off to win for them.  Got something right that didn't hurt today!

Going by Dan Campbell's general demeanor, they probably will, but I'm a little worried about Detroit showing up against the Cheeseheads now as opposed to if it was a winner take all game. I mean either way they're likely sacrificial lambs against SF, but I like to see GB suffer.

Our DVR has gone kaput so I had to watch shows I had been saving before we take it back (starting with Lawrence Taylor’s “A Football Life” that I had recorded in September 2018, heh.  I’m a TV show hoarder).

Speaking of LT, I finally watched “All Madden” from 2021.  The special started with Taylor and ended with Taylor; therefore, that proves that he is the greatest player of all time.

Also 95% of the things LT did on the field are currently banned.

Probably 95% of things LT did off the field are also currently banned.

I know these past several days have been emotional and stressful for Damar Hamlin, his family, the Bills, and others, but I really hope that he can heal without all the media attention.  The next story I want to hear is when he's released from the hospital.

Bears with the #1 pick in the draft is interesting. Are they convinced Fields can be the answer at QB long term?  Or do they take Bryce Young?  Or trade one OSU QB for another and select Stroud?  Would another team trade for Fields?  Is there a team that is willing to trade up to #1?  And what would that cost?  Or do the Bears stay at #1 and take someone other than Young or Stroud?

I really wanted the Lions to make the playoffs, as I think Dan Campbell has done a great job.  But I’ll take Seattle, too.  I just hope Detroit uses the anger over the disappointment to eliminate GB.

I would not be surprised at all if Chicago stays with the Top Pick to take Anderson

Yeah that would be my pick, as well.

Then Texans gets Bryce.  (Even tho I’m a Buckeye, I think CJ will be a bust unless they can get him moving better in the NFL).

So who’s getting fired tomorrow and the rest of the week?

#1 with a bullet:

Kingsbury

Also,

Vrables, Allyn, Art Smith, Eberfus, all the interims (except maybe Steve Wilkes).

I think Lovie may have saved his job by the Texans performance these last few weeks.  That is, if he still wants it.  Josh McDaniels keeps his by virtue of his expensive contract.  Stefanski keep his because this was a wash of a year w/bringing back Deshaun aft 2 yrs in the middle of a season.  But he only gets one more to right the ship.

Part of me is annoyed that the Falcons won because we could really use a higher draft pick.

Me too!  The selfish part of me wishes that the Bucs would've played their starters, but I understand that we didn't have to win this game, so it was best to rest most of them, but still, I wanted to see the Bucs look competitive before going into the playoffs.  The Bucs are a longshot.  They need all the reps they can get!!

I like how wild card and conference Champs weren't mostly decided until the last weekend.

So who do you want to win next weekend? Cowboys or Buccaneers? To put it another way, who do you want to lose? Me, I want Cowboys to lose!!! 1) I don't like them and 2) Tampa is easier to beat (supposing Vikings survive the Giants).

Vikings vs Giants? Vikings to win, of course.

San Francisco vs ??? I prefer ??? to win.

Game that's on right now? Go Lions!!

Link to comment

San Francisco beats whoever their opponent is, whether it's Green Bay or Seattle. But the best chance at a 7 seed knocking off a 2 seed is if the Seahawks get in. Not your "older cousin" Seahawks but they have had success thank A-ROD vs the Niners

Crosby had an impressive DOINK! and the ball bounced off in front of the goalposts.

Dang Packers scored a touchdown. I was happy for Lions scoring earlier. Lions can still win, they're only down by three.

Pffft. Any year we're not IN the playoffs is ugly. And don't discount the Clowns.  They could be a toe-popper for the Steelers.  But 7-10? Nah. 8-8-1 at worst.

Oh look...Steelers finish 9-8.

Missed the playoffs though (thanks for nothing,  Jets.)

Great interception by Joseph for the Lions!

Those replays of the Lions receiver catching, then sort of dropping the ball and catching it with his legs, make it look like he is pooping the football. The ball never did touch the ground.

Also seeing Rodgers upset and disconsolate gives me joy.

Also, what was that Packer thinking when he shoved that Detroit trainer who was tending a hurt player? And then another Packer body nudged the same trainer?
