SA's new facebook video (posted 1 hour ago)...

https://www.facebook.com/stephenamell/

He talked mostly about Code8 stuff.  But he did mention Arrow as follows: he was headed into work and said he has 5 days left shooting Arrow, but the production has 6 days left.

Oh man, can you imagine an Arrow-Blindspot crossover?  You'd have Oliver and Kurt brooding in one corner, and then there'd be Felicity and Patterson geeking out in another corner.

I've never watched Blindspot. I can't believe he dissed his BFF Jared Padalecki! WTF Stephen! LOL

It was a cool moment that was a great way to bring in a bit of comic canon, but yeah... To be most proud of that? Kind of shows just how much of a poor writer she is, imo...

How does her favorite moment reflect on the quality of her writing, though? I'm not arguing that she was great or anything, but it's a personal opinion about her own body of work that probably has a lot of reasoning behind it that we don't know about.

IDK I think the wording of the tweet was confusing. If it was her most favorite moment sure, but she said 'proud', not favorite which made me think this is the moment she feels best represents her writing... But you're right, she's probably proud of it because of some personal reason?

She seems to l love the comics a lot, so I can see why she'd be proud of successfully working something in like the boxing glove arrow. The comment just didn't scream, "This is my highest quality writing," or anything, just something fun that she was proud of.

That's fair. I read it completely differently. Whenever I say I'm most proud of something, it's generally something I worked extremely hard on or represents the best quality of my work. But I now see that it could just mean her favorite moment as a comic book enthusiast.

I mean, maybe she thinks it IS the best thing she's written, haha. I just don't think there's any way to really know that based on the tweet.

Oh nooooo. Oh Marc NO.

@rachelbarbrass @TheCW_PR @TheCW @cwseed @CW_Arrow @EW @etnow Over four seasons of Arrow, we have killed OVER TWICE as many men as women.

I feel like one day it's going to be Marc to spill the beans on the BTS stuff because he already seems to be incredibly annoyed by the hate he's been getting. Yikes.

Someone needs to tell him it's not how many, it's how they died.

I'm ..... torn. Lol.

I mean, I've had my issues with how the female characters have been handled and how they've been killed off. Even Laurel's death wasn't handled how I would have liked. But, for obvious reasons, I'm not inclined to board the current hate train. I guess that makes me a hypocrite. :/

The agenda is quite obvious... But I want to go through each death...

Sara - I think she HAD to die because of possible BTS issues. Her death was so rushed and last minute that it honestly doesn't make me think the writers thought it all through. And let's be clear, Sara only died ONCE. She SUPPOSEDLY died 2 other times.

Shado - Her death was extremely problematic. She's a good character that added a lot to the story. She didn't have to die to fuel Slade's manpain.

Thea - Technically Thea never died. But I do hate how the show uses her character. She's always servicing Malcolm/Oliver's storyline (at least for the past 2 seasons)

Waller - Killing her was problematic in the sense that she was defenseless. But otherwise I don't really know why she had to die. Her death affected no one and the shock only lasted for 1 episode.

Laurel - I don't like the way she died. But I get why the writers wanted to kill her off. Her dying isn't problematic, but the way she died was a bit problematic. While she did choose to go out and fight (knowing the risks) her death was more about Quentin than it was about Laurel.

Isabel - Evil. I don't find her death problematic at all.

So while a lot of the way these women died are problematic, the ones who I don't mind dying are Laurel & Isabel. Isabel because she's a baddie and they have to go sooner or later. Laurel because she added nothing to the show and killing her off would bring back the stakes. Which is why I'm not going to be on board with THIS particular hate train

ETA: I feel like this doesn't make sense. :p Sorry!
