i am sure the soap will make up something or just ignore that whole s/l like it was a dream or something.

haha I'd be ok with this too!  This is why Sheila's return to B&B isn't so bad, since her "death" didn't happen there they really don't need to explain anything, but you're right, your "Phelia was Sugar" explanation is probably what Y&R will go with.

i just read a spoiler about sharon..

while working the crisis line, she gets a call from a woman named crystal who says she is being forced to have sex with men...then the line goes dead.

she informs paul and scott about it and they wonder if she is a part of the sex trafficking  ring in gc.  sharon is shocked to learn something like that is going on in gc.. paul thinks their only hope is if she calls back but sharon is going to try and help this girl...

So Abby's business partner and Tessa's old "associate" is running a sex trafficking ring in GC. And Victoria has brain damage...Please don't tell me Vic gets drawn in and Buttbiscuit saves the day because then I will have to chew my own foot off.

Does anybody know the details about ED's departure?  Is she going to DOOL for good, or is this some temporary thing?  It seems to be a strange time for Ashley to be leaving.

She'll keep doing both shows at full tilt. She's dropped out of Housewives though.

Thanks, miamama!  I just assumed she was leaving Y&R when I heard she was going to Days.  Doing both sounds crazy, but good for her!  I never could stomach the Housewives, so I won't be missing anything there.

I think her run there will be short.

Who's she going back as?  She plays about fifty parts.

I've heard she's coming back as Susan, EJ's mother.  A painfully bad part IMO, but that's relative considering the other characters she's played there.  IMO they all stink.

It looks like we're in for some exiting times ahead when Abby finds out Zach is a sex trafficker and Victoria continues to lose her mind.

Why do I derive such vengeful pleasure in thinking of Abby's downfall? At the hands of a guy who looks like something out of either an Our Gang movie or an Archie comic?

Fuck if I know.

I could not be more excited unless ALL the cast were replaced by paper bags on sticks except for ButtBiscuit.

Zee James has an IMDB listing as "GC Buzz Producer", one episode.  OH!  She was also on GH as a stunt double.

But we're the lucky ones who get her back!!

Ha!! I have been trying to figure out who Zach reminds me off. The Archie comic is perfect!! All he is missing is the criss cross pattern in his hair in the side of his head that Archie had in the old comics. He has been a ridiculous pairing for Abby from day one - as both a business partner and certainly a romantic interest.

Show is gonna be getting GOOD!  I got this clip from an upcoming episode when Nick is getting the money for the expansion of the Underpants,

giphy.gif

and then, when he finds the money is GONE!

giphy.gif

But, through it all, he still has Chelsea.

I hope I haven't given too much away.

It all looks so GOOD, doesn't it?

Marla Adams(Dina) did an interview with TV Guide. Dina has dementia. She collapses in her hotel room after a fight with Graham and he leaves her there. She ends up in the hospital land he apologizes later. That's on October 16.

she still hasn't scraped him off? You know he's giving her drugs or something.

This seems unlikely since in today's Cdn he admits that he wants revenge on Dina for ruining his and his mother's life.  I guess if she has dementia she would forget what he said and did but why would Jack or Ash let her be anywhere near him?

@TwistedSoul7, thanks for posting, that's a great article.  So the premise is, Dina doesn't want anyone to know about her dementia and she is willing to put up with Graham as a result?  Now that she knows he is out for vengeance, that should change, unless she is so vulnerable he can convince her otherwise.

Great article, Twisted.... she seems like a spitfire.  I hope they do a rethink and let her stay on... she's fun and spunky.

I agree. Great interview and Marla seems as awesome as Dina. And she's right on about both John and Traci.

I think Prick taking Nick's money is just the tip of the iceberg. I think it's partly to pave the way for Adam's return. Nick will be broke, "his" child and gf will be taken from him. He'll be homeless soon.

I don't know how that quote box got there.

Read on another board - no attribution - but they're planning or at least toying with Grampire and Gloria... which, to be honest, I think would be completely hilarious.

oh boy, glodigger can whip up some of her famous "blue pill" cocktails and tell turd what a "man" he is...turd loves flattery and glodigger can dish the bs with the best of 'em.

i read a recap of mal's interview at a different board.

basically, he is going to use neil and devon more. pace is going to dramatically pick up....something about if it is a monday on the soap, it will be real time monday too.  he didn't like that sometimes 1 day would take 3 or 4 soap days.

i don't think much will change.

I agree with @valleycliffe. I don't imagine much will change storyline wise since Mal has been running this ship for the most part I'm sure. (The Abbott stuff was likely Sally -- the first six months of it anyways -- but otherwise I don't think she did more than outline some big arcs that likely didn't play out because apparently she didn't care, lol.) He might introduce an arc for Neil, give Devon some substance, and maybe Michael and Paul get a storyline of their own. God knows Victoria and Billy need a reduction in episode counts. There's plenty of room for others. (I read on that other board Valley mentioned that Mal wants to drop fringe characters and focus on vets.)

The day on a soap = day in real life will be quite a shift though. No more drawn out conversations and long pauses??? And what do you do with those embarrassing long, long soapy SEXAY TIMES?? lol. I want to believe Mal realizes sex on soaps is really lame in the age of free internet porn and cable television with more lax restrictions than network. But I'm also afraid we'll see Philly have sex on whatever surface they have not yet had sex because it's MAL'S SHOW NOW and they are SO FUNNY AND HOT and ROMCOM MASTERS.

I think everyone BTS realizes something massive has to happen because this genre is really, truly dying. It can't compete with real world drama -- which we get constantly with 24 hour news and Twitter. And it will never compete with good quality prime time because you can't pull it off with the volume of shows they are producing and no hiatus. And also the best writers don't want jobs on soaps.

It should feel a *lot* faster. It's not a bad move. I mean the script writing is not very good at all so it spares us that dreck. They can focus on solid writing for only big convos.

But a whole day in an hour??

We shall see. It's a gamble but what the hell. I'm sure if Mal can't at least staunch the ratings bleed he'll be shown the door in a matter of months. So he might as well gamble.

at the other board i go to,  some blind items were also posted..

- a recent casting change is causing some problems

- a star is suddenly tight lipped about a storyline

- a vet looks like he/she is on the way out

- an actor with many soap credits is being added as a contract player

- soap will pair an unlikely duo to shake things up

items could be from any of the soaps.

so...could the Preverts take over the writing?  I'm willing to work for free just to get some damn continuity and age/generational/back story awareness.

Gone for a while.  I thought by "recent", they just meant that the character was recently cast.

So beeeely heroically saves the twins and mop jr.... and what... some kids he didn't get killed. Nick commits arson w/special circumstances and goes to jail/,

Maybe he'll get burned (Like on OLTL) and be another actor when the bandages are removed. To much to hope for?

Where's Adam when you need someone to run into fire or get rid of a dead hooker.

It's almost like they're going with an episodic approach, which you can do weekly but not daily IMO.  And if we've gone from Abbott breakfast mode to lets burn down the Underground (burn up?)  you can't sustain that indefinitely... this is like going back to the MAB days where it got so nuts toward the end of her reign.

If they want to try to get viewers back they need a thought out, long term strategy to introduce a new core family, flesh out the generational levels of the existing families and integrate them (without having them so intertwined and intermarried it seems incestuous.)   I think the Winters clan is spent.  Although you could argue the Abbotts could go.  (Even the Newmans, but you know what it's like to take out an old tree... the trunk may be easy but the stump is in there tight.)

Shows probably doomed in any event (insofar as the next renewal.)  I see a sharp drop in what little quality there was just in a few days of all Mal all the time.  Sally's time was disappointing to me, but still much better than anything since the Gloria ate the show days.

Also, do they really think most viewers of daytime programming want to see a roofied guy wake up next to a blood-soaked hooker?  I mean, I do watch violent shows like The Walking Dead, but when I watch a soap, I want to see soap drama, not this level of darkness.

I felt the same way about it when we had the Jack/dead hooker s/l. I watch a lot of cop shows so I'm not really shocked by it but on a soap I don't want the mob or any other underworld shit. I don't object to supernatural stuff.
