Sherri Shepherd: "Is the Earth flat?"

Shepherd joked that being at the roundtable of the ABC gabfest for so many years and mastering the term "No, let me finish talking" gives her a little comfort in playing the evil stepmother, which was previously played by another notable TV personality, Fran Drescher (of "The Nanny").

"I learned how to fit in at 'The View,' and I will apply it to the evil stepmother role," she added. "It will be fun because I'm a team player and there will be other cast members on that stage, and since I already learned to gel very quickly with folks that I don't know, this is really going to be easy to jump into."

Where oh where does Sherri view herself from??

The Approval Matrix website lists the show's guests. Sally's name is not on it for any of the episodes, and there are only 6 episodes. The guests are all famous comedians, well-known tv writers and tv personalities.

I swear I saw him sitting in one ofo the chairs laughing!!!!!!!!

I don't think the media is being especially quiet about this - I don't think it's a big deal in the grand scheme of things. To me it's an interesting legal case, but I'm not emotionally invested in it. Families are formed and broken apart in myriad ways - so Sad has the son he wanted, Sherri is leading her life, the finances will somehow get sorted out.

The articles will pop up from time to time, but I don't see where this will become a major scandal for Sherri.

Excerpt:

A renowned stand-up comic and former sitcom star herself, Shepherd is a little more concerned about starring in a Broadway musical and singing professionally. "I never have," she confessed. "This is a first for me. Being on Broadway has always been a dream of mine, so this is a dream come true, but I'm really nervous. I'm scared, I'm excited, I'm thrilled. It's a myriad of feelings going through my body right now."

Shepherd revealed she was originally approached to take on the role after Drescher finished her six-month stint but time constraints prohibited her from accepting the offer then. "It was just not feasible. I didn't think that I could give it everything that it needed to be given.

"So it really, really worked out as I was stepping away from 'The View' that this offer came up again and I said 'Oh, I gotta take it,'" she added.

I checked their website, and here's the info for Episode 3, which airs on Monday:

Episode 3: America’s Hall Monitors

A hilarious celebrity debate over whether hyper-political correctness has created a kinder and gentler society or if we’re just hiding our true hate.

In today’s world of documenting everything on social media and open access, a minor lapse of judgment can get you ostracized by society almost immediately. Forget Big Brother – we're surrounded by an army of “little brothers”, always on the lookout for our failures as they act like self-appointed “hall monitors” of America. Host Neal Brennan is joined by writer and activist Michaela Angela Davis, transgender porn star Bailey Jay, and comedians Sherrod Small and Judah Friedlander as they discuss topics such as political correctness and double standards.

You can scroll through the episodes on that page and see the guests for all six episodes. No Lamar Sally anywhere.

Also, there's a preview of Monday's episode here:

Did you maybe see that quick glimpse of Sherrod Small laughing and think it was Sal?

This earlier line about ticket sales needs translation...

Please come out support - ticket sales are important if you'd like to come seeing "family"

My guess is that "come" should be "continue" and "family" is all black actors on The Great White Way.

( before anyone asks...GWW refers to the bright lights on the streets of Broadway)

BTW-Sherri may have learned this Twitter info (below) by reading this board!

I don't know who @Oprah_World& @WomenOfHistory is ... but I love their quotes!

Sherri's on her way to LA, I guess to pick up Jeffrey. I'm wondering if she moved to the city or  if she's just been hanging out there. She tweeted she couldn't sleep last night so she was walking around the city.

I think the biggest news about Cinderella is that Keke got the lead role

She is only 20!!! Have other Broadway leads (adult roles) been that young?

She turns 21 on Tuesday (and I'm sure Sherri will be celebrating with her)

I would think that age 20/21 would be an absolutely appropriate age for the character of Cinderella.

I  know of aspiring actors/ actresses that get their college degree before trying to get parts on Broadway...

(probably because my daughter's college has Musical Theatre as a major)

Once again Sherri suffers another drama-filled day.  Jesus, can this woman go one day without something calamitous happening to her?

Can't you track your iPhone using an app or something?

My daughter's was ripped out of her hands in Brooklyn- She informed a nearby police officer-  The phone was tracked to two different locations and was retrieved for her in less than a half hour!

You can, so long the device is on and connected to any kind of network:

https://www.apple.com/ca/icloud/find-my-iphone.html

I had a friend who had a similar situation as springtime: she forgot her phone somewhere and when she went back to retrieve it, they played dumb saying they didn't have it.  She tracked it back to that same location, notified the police who met her there and got it back. If she's lucky, someone found it and left it on.

Maybe this is a lesson for her to learn that her whole freaking life shouldn't revolve around a damn phone. Someone asked how she was still tweeting and another person responded that she probably has an iPad.

Clearly Sherri needs a personal assistant.  She needs someone to pack for her.  Keep track of her phone.  Read her a bedtime story so she can go to sleep at night.  You know, someone to make sure she makes it through each day in one piece without any more catastrophes happening to her.

Gee, I thought being a contestant on DWTS was Sherri's dream...and that she was afraid of dancing because she...couldn't? and that Val was the bestest, most awesomestest pro who helped her get over her fear? But no, it's being and performing on Broadway that has been her dream and what she fears. Got it.

It's possible if Sherrod Small is a large, black man who looks just like Lamar Sally!  I looked up the Approval Matrix and they may have been auditioning various guests before settling on the ones they chose.  I am beginning to feel stupid!!!!!!!!!

Is this odd, or not? I've seen a few Broadway shows although spur of the moment.

I called the ticket outlet for Cinderella and asked the dates SS would be performing. All they could say is starting 9/9. No end date.

Or do they just hope for the best and see how the reviews go? That could be limiting to a comic, mc, occasional movie or sitcom actress.

And the ticket prices seemed rather low for a Broadway show.

It's only a limited run. It said that in the ad. I guess they don't want to give an ending date to keep people interested in purchasing - this way they can extend it a bit if she's a hit. Or should I say, a STAH!

LOL, I kind of figured that was the case but I was afraid to say so.

I Googled my ass off just a day ago looking for the length of her "limited run" and found no mention of the end date anywhere (read a bunch of articles, checked the websites, etc.), just the September 9th debut. I thought it was odd because some fans might want to buy tickets only for when she's still there performing.

It's even more strange that you called and they won't tell you. What if you said you wanted tickets for October 10th but you want to make sure she's still there? I can't believe they won't tell people what dates she's there.

Hmmm... I believe you can delete other people's comments on your Instagram posts, but I'm pretty sure that even verified account holders can't delete someone else's tweets. Replies are an update to your own Twitter feed, not the feed of the person you're replying to. They can only delete their own tweets or report offensive tweets to Twitter who may remove them administratively. Sherri gets harassed constantly on Twitter about the "abandoned baby" thing. I'm sure if she could delete them herself, replies like those would be the first to go.

Sherri tweeted about her junk food "addiction" and showed pictures of a mini bar from the W Hotel that is conveniently located just down Broadway from her Cinderella Theater.

Is she staying there,as part of her contract for rehearsals or God forbid the run of the show??? $600+ a night...she managed to get to the view each morning from New Jersey, this is crazy!!!

Oh, come ON, Now, Former Nun babe! Don't you remember how she got all "verklempt", bawling her eyes out after she got the boot, on DWTS and this show, about how she'd ALWAYS wanted to learn Ballroom dancing (what she did on that show was NOT it, the way she shook her ta tas and ass), and how she was "SCARED" and "FEARED" it soooo bad, that Naturally, DWTS was the BESTEST place to face that FEAR.

Now I've never seen her stand up, thought that she was/is pretty good in supporting roles in sitcoms, but the standup she did on Kimmel, I think it was? After she got the boot? where she talked about getting kicked off...fell really flat. Felt flat, too. And nary a tear did I see thar. (no that's not a typo, hee!)

So God is busy returning lost cell phones? Dear God, I can think of a few things that need your attention more.

I know right.  I guess since he is so tied up with tending to Sherri's ever so important needs he is too busy to actually deal with the prayers concerning with the frivolous stuff like sickness and famine throughout the world.

If I was a person of faith (which I totally am not. I'm an agnostic) I would really be pissed off that Sherri thinks prayer brought her phone back to her.  If you are someone who believes praying is going to get you what you want then how do you explain all the parents who prayed for their sick children to get better but they died anyways?  I'm all for thinking positively but for someone to think her phone was found because God answered your prayer is simply ridiculous IMO.

I've seem clips of her standup and I think it's very run of the mill comedy.  IMO she is no better than any comic you can see any weekend in a local comedy club. I do think she can be funny but she has developed this certain character she seems to use when she is doing her act.  She always over plays everything.  She exaggerates her facial expressions and gestures.  And I've noticed when she has been doing guest roles on TV they are all the same type of character.   I personally don't find that type of humor funny but I guess it will pay her bills since she no longer has the View paycheck.

Lost cell phone = no joy in her life, how sad. Her cell phone returned and joy was back. Goodness, she didn't say that when she went to pick up Jeffrey.

Nice if she's being put up in the city for the show. I think it's nuts though. Unless they moved out of the house, I would think Jeffrey could use some stability. And way to go letting it be known where she's staying. I swear she sets herself up for 90% of her crap. Anyone want to meet up at Broadway and 47th to say hi?

Yes, ginger90, she could have tweeted that joy about Jeffrey coming home, but no, it's a phone that does it for her.  Sheesh, if that woman would think just a teeny little bit about how that comes off.

I'm sure she would say she needs to be connected to her public you know.  Don't you realize she is starring in her own Twitter reality show?  Well at least she seems to think she is.  I mean seriously, there are people who actually DO have reality shows and they don't have their lives available to the public as much as Sherri does.

Ok, if y'all can stand it:  http://tinseltownmom...sive-interview/

Just amazing.

I don't even know where to start.  She is still spouting what is IMO nonsense about choosing to leave and how she could go back at any time.  Yeah right......

Her lifelong dream has always been Broadway???? Yeah right....

She was worried about leaving the View because the cost of living in NYC is so high.  Well if she didn't buy Christian Louboutin shoes and ridiculously priced shredded jeans perhaps her cost of living would be cheaper.

Her book Plan D got "glowing" reviews?  Yeah right....

And my apologies to anyone who has a sincere faith in God, but Sherri's constant preaching about God this and God that is getting on my last nerve.  It's like she can't make a move or say a word without God telling her it's OK. Enough already!!!!  Did God tell her to blindly marry a man who she knew so little about that now he is divorcing her and trying to void their pre nup based on her alleged fraud?  Did God tell her to enter into a surrogacy contract and allegedly then try to have it voided on Sal's alleged fraud?  Even Elisabeth who was Sherri's "sister in Christ" didn't bring Jesus into every fucking discussion.  I just wish she would STFU.  She wants to be a Christian and have God lead her path in life fine but do we need to constantly be informed about it?

Her delusions never cease to amaze me....as this article shows.

From her tweets I gather she is always crying.....and always celebrating the joy in her screwed up life rather than finding a way through her troubles.  She definitely lacks self-awareness, imo and it is sad if  her friends are unable to help her. Other than posing for pics with her and telling her how wonderful she is. Perhaps they are trying but Sherri doesn't even consider advice. Easier for her to rely on her God.

She just returned "home" from fetching Jeffrey yet goes out alone to "get to know - yourself." Yet is sorting through photos of herself to tweet. That is hardly getting to know yourself.

I hope Jeffrey had a great time with his father and brother.

Hey Susieq147, we think the same cuz I end up agreeing with you on almost everything (or wishing I wrote it myself).

I was also thinking that Sherri's "schnick comedy" was getting old because it's same old, same old (like her character on 30 Rock):  Angry black lady bugging her eyes out and waving the hands and neck and threatening to hit somebody "up side the head, etc."  She is an embarassment to black people.  There are also too many really talented, classy actresses who can bring something new to the roles.

Sherri's  stand up comedy about the crazy things happening to her are not inherently amusing, but she gets the neck and eyes going for emphasis, and its mildly passable, even though it makes her seem incredibly stupid.  Long term comedy run?  No way.

I go to the gym when the Spew is on and cannot even look at the tv any more when she is on screen.  So over her.

susieq147, I'm one of those with a sincere faith, but it's getting on my nerve, too.  Just makes me shake my head.  I think I've said this before, but it just doesn't seem like she gets it.

I think we discussed her bringing attention to herself back during the prayer group in the mall topic - when Whoopi was trying to continue the show and Sherri sits there praying out loud.  It seems like it's a script or a character she plays without the method acting behind it.

Or maybe we talked about it when she had a problem with people thanking God and not Jesus?  I don't even understand that one - lol.  Probably something to do with her JW past with them not believing in the Trinity.

Too late?

Exactly what I thought.
