Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I just wanted to verify his age before I post. Looks like he is turning 21. Something went down, just the reactions tell me all is not well. I'm not sure how much I can post on here without getting in trouble, but I have seen comments on him being the age were people can start to manifest schizophrenia. Hopefully, it isn't anything like that and it is him just being an oddball.

If this comment is not allowed, please let me know.

I sort of think this is how the whole family thinks, but Jill and Dave need the grift money so they tone it down at the grift stops. It's possible "deep thinker" Phillip has maybe had enough of that and spouted what he really thinks instead of being one of mama's trained pets on stage.

Either way it's so sad - Phillip could absolutely have a mental illness - any of the Rod kids could - but it would go undiagnosed and untreated.  I can't imagine needing any kind of special care in a family like that.  They must learn from a young age that their needs are secondary to Mahmo's moods.  They probably can't even lean on each other due to the tattle-tale nature of so many cults.  Hence, why Janessa self-soothes with a filthy blanket.

Or Phillip may have gotten just enough freedom to start shining a light on how he's been raised, and spouting off some religious nonsense is a way to throw their extremism back into his parents' faces - as in, you're going to keep parading me around strangers to sing and dance for my dinner?  Well, here you go - here's some actual nonsense.  Still religious, though, so what are you going to do about it?

Renee usually introduces Phillip when he is not traveling with them. Which is weird in it's own right. She even said as much Sunday. "I usual introduce Phillip, but he is here so he can introduce himself."

Her last intro I have seen for Phillip was something like "my brother Phillip is 20, he lives at home with us, but doesn't travel with us because he is working full time and going to bible college online."

The rods have been to this church many times. The congregation has surely heard of studious Phillip, his being away at bible college and his burden to be a missionary to Hungary.

Probably he was supposed to say something close to Renee's intro and then the fun fact. He seemed to come up with deep thinker on the spot, so who knows what lame or embarrassing thing Jill told him to say.

I love how Jill's not bothered by the fact none of her kids graduate from college. You know if you have 0% rating it's definitely the teacher and not the students. But that would never enter her mind. It's God or Satan or haters or something.

I'm thinking she wears that in Vegas with the Plexus huns. Kaylee shared that they're going.

Why would she go to Las Vegas when she knows she will be exposed to "horrible things".  You can't walk on the street or through a hotel without seeing people drinking and "inappropriately" dressed.  She wouldn't enjoy any of the shows, and I'm not sure she and Dave will be able to find an empty swimming pool.  I know people that will not go to Las Vegas because of their beliefs, but I think Jill just wants to have something to complain about.  She needs to show how "special" she is.  I hope they don't take "smiley tracts" with them.  I wonder what lovely outfit she will come up with.  Her cowgirl suit would get her some attention.

Maybe she will play some nickel slots and her and David can take in a strip show.

My plexus friend posted it is next week. Let the games begin!

An event in Vegas always has the showgirls with the feathers and not a lot else on. I’m sure the Plexus convention will have them.  There will be alcohol.  You can’t get from point a to point b in the big hotels without walking through the casino.  And there are still street ‘vendors’ handing out ‘cards’.   I can’t imagine them enjoying their visit and Jonathan and Kaylee are going to just be overwhelmed.  I do hope they get a little private time to just take a walk by themselves

I sure hope Jill doesn't wear that "graduation" dress to Tim's wedding.  But then, I am afraid that she will find something worse.  I'm sure she will need to be the center of attention, and that graduation dress would do it.

She’s a whole new level of 🥜.

My guess is that they will stay in their hotel room, much like Pecan and Priss did when they took a cruise.  Priss posted pictures of them doing "Bible study" in their cabin.  I could never figure out why they paid for a cruise in the first place.  Jill and Dave can stay in their room with the air conditioner running and watch the map and tell everyone they went to Las Vegas.

I wonder which hotel this Plexus event is occurring? I was in Vegas in February and saw a Dita Von Teese burlesque show (which was just incredible) and Jill's head would have exploded. Heck, you can't even walk anywhere on the strip without running into girls with pasties and g strings on, trying to get tourists to pay them to take a picture with them. There are very few options for Jill to avoid seeing anything that would offend her delicate senses in Vegas. We're probably about to get some epic meltdowns.

Do we know if the husbands are going? I figured Jill and Kaylee would double up in a room. I doubt she's still nursing, so she can leave Gideon at  home.

Or bring him and overdose the poor kid on sensory overload.

It's hard to imagine Jill would let hunk go to Vegas.

Looks like the event is at the Caesars Forum convention center

The hotels are either Harrah's or The Linq. I stayed at the Linq in March.

If she thinks she's going to be able to avoid any gambling, alcohol, and scantily dressed people, she is sorely mistaken. It was probably easy to avoid the party with alcohol in Punta Cana, but Vegas is a whole different story since you can walk around with it pretty much anywhere, including outside on the strip. There's slot machines the second you get off the plane at the airport. And as someone mentioned above you have to walk through the casino in the hotel just to get inside to check in or get to your room. And there's smoking is all the casinos still (except I think there is one that is smoke free, but I can't remember which one).

This is going to be a whole new level of Jill insanity and I'm here for it!

Jill claims one reason she was attracted to Plexus is because there are so very many Christians in the company. Is she going to think less of the company leaders for choosing Las Vegas for their convention? What a dilemma for poor Jillypm.

Jonathan has a full-time job to keep him in Wooster, but there's no reason for David not to go unless Kaylee counts as Jill's plus one. The trip would give David some new material for his tired sermons, so he's probably eager for the opportunity to survey the sin.

Too bad Jill bought her shiny graduation dress in silver instead of gold!

There was a combination 18th birthday and graduation party. Jill was filming and said the guests were inside looking at the house. She said some people from Samuel’s work were there. There’s a picture of him with a man wearing a shirt with a company on it that’s 7 minutes from their house. I’m assuming that’s where he works. Way to keep this private. Anyway…….

Oh no that is exactly why she bought it.   Gold, silver, who cares, its a shiny metal right?    That's if she even goes to the party for more than 5 minutes.   Remember she walks out of them in a huff when they get too "secular."   And everyone breathes a sigh of relief when her judgmental ass leaves.

This gives Jill the chance to spend even more money on another tacky, garish dress.  I expect she planned things that way, not that Jill has ever seen Goldfinger.  Although the sex is pretty tame in the James Bond movies, the innuendo runs pretty deep.

I seem to remember JillyBean spouting out one time that as dogly people they shunned places that serve alcohol, ie devil drink. She will have plenty of opportunities to huff and puff and act self righteous in Vegas!

I think that is a lot of her motivation for going to these things. Besides it being another vacation for her away from her wonderful children and the wonderful amish country, Jill gets to buy new clothes, get lots of content to post, gets to brag about her "achievements in her great company", and the bonus of judging others and her company's parties.

I don't think she wants to go to the parties, but she sure wants everyone to know she was invited.

Ah, but in Plexus World metals are ranks and status, and Jill cares about status. She wouldn't want anyone to mistake her for tin or even mere silver when she is a solid gold with eyes toward leaving the metals and moving to the gemstones, who get slightly better stuff from the company.

She'll stay at the party just long enough to eat and to pack up some food for David if he's on the trip.

The combo party barely had any food. Wow. Jill is always so cheap with party food too. Not even a sandwiches platters, salads, roasted chicken legs, hot dogs, burgers, nothing. The manly men could have grilled food.

The crockpot looks like it contains the main course, probably something brown or beige. Maybe Jill's famous grease soup is making another appearance. Barbecue would be nice, but there don't seem to be any buns on the table.

Think of all the unwashed hands rummaging through the bowls of chips and cheese curls. Yuck. Only the cake feels safe.

Jill prefers to be entertained at the Nice Olive Garden or better. She's not one to splurge on other people.

No additional guests means David can’t go in there. And cocktails are on the menu.

Gold finger themed. Well Jill sure loves to jab that finger at everything.

It's my birthday! Is it too much to ask that Jill posts that evening, since we know she'll duck out once the music starts? 😀

Oooh, can't wait to see her photos of another new fanny pack, a ticket good for one drink at the bar (useless), and a Plexus ink pen (that hopefully leaked all over the inside of the fanny pack).

Does the CEO of Plexus laugh his a$$ off all the way to the bank every day, I wonder?  Like - get these people to pay for a trip they've supposedly earned, and in return give them each $4.37 worth of crap ordered wholesale to make them think we care?

There will be no safe haven for them in LV unless they go beyond the city. No late night swims when the pools close (I doubt they do), no casino that they won't encounter at least someone scantily clad, maybe  a guest or an employee.... restaurants have alcohol and gambling.

I'm sure there is some family type entertainment they can see but I don't think even that will measure up to their godly standards. I have been there so many times and you have to expect what you are going to see. And they will be at Caesars? Even the statues they have are barely clothed.

I guess they can stay in the room and watch the map.

It sounds like the Gold event itself will be problematic for Jill. It's a cocktail party with a DJ who won't be playing Amazing Grace. She and Dave walked out on a similar event in Punta Cana.

This should be good. 🤪

I really hope she goes, this will be many days of entertainment!

We were there in the summer a few years ago.  The pools close in the evening.  I’m sure they all specify actual swim attire as being required and security most likely won’t allow midnight swims.   That would be a liability issue with the amount of alcohol people consume out there.  I don’t think management will feel the need to cater to non-drinkers, non-gamblers who refuse to follow rules.

Couple things.

1.  Not a teacher myself but I come from a family of them.  A true teacher would take someone’s love of “hands on” and use it as a way to teach.   If Sammers loves wood then use building to teach him math.

2.   The saying is :   God doesnt expect perfection he expects progress.     But then “progress” is too close to “progressive” and that is a dirty word.  I may have the expression wrong but the point trying to be made is God is not a perfectionist.
