I watched one episode years ago. I know people love it, I think it's just if it's your taste.  As Ben on Parks & Rec described "it's real life situations played out in a fantasy world". Yeah but the beheading and incest and having sex in front of people isn't my real life.   I feel the same about Walking Dead.  Enough with the zombies already. I still can't get the image of that poor horse being killed out of my head.

I recently discovered Angie Tribeca on TBS. LMAO.  It's idiotic, but that's the point. They spoof EVERYTHING, Fargo, Blindspot, L&O, CSI, Erin Brockovich, Silence of the Lambs, ER, Glee. You name it. And the guest stars are a lot of A list actors.

Ah, think I’ll give it a pass.

How’s The Americans? I was thinking of starting that too, but none of my friends have seen it.

I'll throw in an unsolicited recommendation--The Deuce. I watched the first season on Netflix and was completely hooked.

It's not for everyone. The subject matter is NYC in the 1970s, particularly the life and times of the denizens of 42nd Street. The main characters are prostitutes, pimps, and police. As the season progresses, the show moves into the birth of the porn industry.

Yes, I know it sounds rough. And it is. But it's also amazing. It's from the same creative team that gave us The Wire, and, like The Wire, it's about everything--politics, corruption, hypocrisy, and sex. And, like The Wire, it features the most amazing acting.

I haven't seen the second season yet. I hope it's as good as the first.

I should issue a warning that it contains violence and nudity. And quite a bit of sex. But veterans of The Wire shouldn't find that surprising.

Joe goes whatever way the wind blows to him being part of an Administration.  That's why he & Mika are kissing Romney's ass now.

Joe said Trump would be more popular if he listened to his advice. Trump did not accept  his recommendations for the cabinet.  Joe wanted Harold Ford Jr &  Richard Haas to be in the cabinet. Mika's recommendation of Dina Powell for a job with Trump was accepted.

This sounds perfect!

I loved the first season of The Deuce but lost interest in the second.   I may go back and give it a try.

I started Escape at Dannemora last night. It's really good. Kind of depressing, I wouldn't say it's a binge the whole thing at once, but it's a compelling story.

Friends From College on Netflix got better in the second season.  They got Keenan Michael Key to stop with those idiotic voices.

Project Blue Book is an accounting of the actual reports of UFOs, played out dramatically. Aiden Gillen from GoT is the lead.  It's interesting.

I'm looking forward to True Detective. It has to be better than Season 2.

I haven't yet seen the second season. (I have to wait for Netflix.) I'm sorry to hear that it might not be as good as Season 1.

Aiden Gillen might get me to watch the Project Blue Book show. I'm not a GoT watcher, but I know him from The Wire (as the very ambitious Tommy Carcetti). I had no idea he was Irish. He did a great American accent.

The Wire had the most amazing actors, many of them relative unknowns at the time. That's one of the things I liked so much about The Deuce, Season 1. I knew only a few of the actors, but just about everyone was outstanding.

I'm just starting Silicon Valley. I always seem to run months or year behind everyone else.

I made this back when it was discovered Trump was making fake magazine covers of himself.  As a cat owner, thought you'd get a kick out of it.    Mine got locked in the storage shed for a day, after she has been warned repeatedly to stay out of it. I was in tears trying to find her and then heard this "mew mew".

I would like to know what the relationship is between JoeMeeka and Mediate?  It seems that they focus on MJ a lot; there are pictures of Joe; pictures of Joe and Meeka with a story on what Joe ranted or said on the show.  And usually the story is favorable.  I don't notice this focus on most other cable news shows.  Is it just because my eyes automatically flare onto a pic of these two; or are there just a lot of recaps and stories about their show?  That is one way of keeping yourselves in the public eye and making people believe your show is "wildly popular" - according to a recent story on (can't remember the site) ratings and who on the MSNBC lineup may be moving to a different timeslot or leaving.

Okay kids, if you have Netflix and want to have your mind blown, watch "Behind the Curve". It's a doc about people who believe the earth is flat.

It has the requisite guy who thinks he's the charismatic leader of the group and they're fighting the conspiracy which has brainwashed us with facts, his ego is Joe Scarboroughish off the charts, "people come up to me in airports and say 'OMG are you THE Mark Sargent!?!',  the other guy who thinks he started the group and they're feuding, a woman who thinks she's the sexy babe all the flat earthers are hot for, and various others.

I found out about when someone I follow on Twitter was asking for something to watch other than The Office, and so we spent all Friday night listing our fave Office episodes (Dinner Party), and talking about Netflix shows.

Just something to take your mind off the other craziness.

Dan Abrams, former General Manager of MSNBC and longtime friend of Joe, founded and runs  Mediaite. They reflexively take Joe’s side and feature MJ.

I know there are morning news shows in the same time slot but for some reason, maybe because the guests on MJ sometimes really are a cut above, certain news days really drive home that Big News quite often happens right after MJ ends - and whatever happens is done to death by the next morning. Is Manafort's sentencing such a big deal that Facebook is broken? Haven't been able to post or even log in for over an hour now. But I've made do with repeatedly enjoying that one clip they keep showing where he doesn't realize the sidewalk ends, oops, that was a curb, and you know it hurts like hell and he just keeps rollin' along like "Be cool, no one noticed." LOL

I was gonna give up snark for Lent but then I didn't.

I just copied this from a Mediaite article about the dicey waters at Fox News.  Apparently Hannity has his own bunker too:

His ratings success and ability to avoid controversy (he’s sandwiched between outrage magnets Carlson and Ingraham) has allowed Hannity to operate in his own bubble within the network — he’s often content to film the show from his Long Island compound. Producers ask only for one thing: that his seemingly endless opening monologue (last night’s clocked in at 16 minutes) last longer. Ratings drop at its conclusion, sources said.

I almost gagged when I saw Joe posted this shortly after Pods did.  It's the Halperin Apology Tour all over again:

I followed this whole thing in real time. Early on, someone comments not to worry about JPod because he’d get a good Morning Joe rehab time spot. And here it is...

Joe and Mika are friends with terrible people. That can’t be pointed out enough.

Story about Pete Buttigieg going out of his way to help a small Somali boy.   He heard on police scanner that they were in ER and hospital needed a translator so he drove to hospital by himself, no security or escort, found the mother and boy and helped translate for the doctors. Afterward he just introduces himself as "Mayor Pete" and leaves as doctors are thanking him.

Apparently most of South Bend has a story like this.

https://twitter.com/EbyanDaud/status/1109586310988267520

I did see a great joke.  "Cory Booker shoveled my driveway".  "Yeah well Pete Buttigieg shoveled my driveway in Norwegian".

Awwwww.  It's a shame he will never get elected in this country (not said snottily, but ruefully).  y ears almost fell off when I heard that last week trump and Melania attended church for the FIRST time since he took office.  WHAT??  he hasn't been going all along to look good?  And still the evangelicals fall in line.   Trumps is magic, I'm sayin.

Avenatti was a friend of the show last year. He was flirting with Mika. She liked it. Joe was not amused. It's one advantage of broadcasting from the Florida bunker. Joe can stop guests from flirting with Mika.

Avenatti was a friend of a lot of shows last year.  I think Rachel Maddow was about the only one who kept him at arm's length.

As for Mika, I'm a straight female, so maybe I just don't see it, but she just doesn't seem like someone anyone would want to flirt with.  For all her hanging onto Joe and her adoring gazes, she strikes me as completely asexual.

ITA.  There is nothing real about her.  Like she is just a bunch of components of what she thinks is a woman.  FemBot.

Speaking of Mika, I need to get some of those Unitarian scarves.

I park in a church parking lot of the neighborhood where I walk, and a man I know from the neighborhood stopped to chat as I was locking up car, etc.  He then asked "are you the minister here? I see your car here all the time".

My friend/coworker has been calling me Reverend all day and laughing her ass off every time she sees me.

As if my past scandalous life would prevent me from preaching the gospel.

A couple days ago I noticed one of their bumper photos, a black and white shot of Joey (and some guy, maybe) in the foreground in front of what looked like a government building/landmark. Then I noticed Mika was also in the shot a few feet away from them, her back to the camera, showcasing her rump in one of her famed sheath dresses and I thought "Aha, now who chose this photo? Could it be ... Joey?" The only way I realized it was her was the Uni Scarf wound around her neck and cascading/trying to tangle around her arms. LOL

I know most people move on after a divorce/separation and that's well and good but sometimes I wonder how their exes feel if/when they see how totally in each other's pockets these two are. Talk about rubbing it in. On national TV.

I used to live in a real small town and there was only a 2-lane highway all the way through the valley. I rarely went anywhere without seeing my ex and his latest hussy somewhere along the way, smirking at me while styling in his bonaroo truck I made more payments on than he did. It's one of the reasons why I finally left town.

Their ex spouses, and all their respective children, had about eight years to adjust as they put their relationship on national tv.

I just heard this on the radio.  MJ will have a good time with this tomorrow. The timing seems so unbelievably coincidential?  Trump Avenges??

No coincidence, this guy has been going off the rails for a while now (and apparently he's taking the odious Mark Geragos with him, bonus!).  He's been threatening other lawyers on Twitter and his second ex-wife gave a sad/scathing interview about him.  He's stopped paying child support/insurance, he forged her name on numerous documents to buy cars and things, he sold a house right out from underneath her.  Awful stuff.  Stormy said her full story with him will come out soon, that should be a blockbuster (I really like her a lot and am furious he took advantange of her situation).

Suomi, I know exactly how you feel (except we had four lanes and he had a broken down Jaguar).  Maybe that's why my reaction to these two is much harsher than my normal pattern.  I just hope their ex's and most of all their children are ok.  They deserve each other.

I was always somewhat bothered that Stormy didn't hire Gloria Allred. So now I'm irrationally pissed off at Stormy. 😑

Nicolle is also mentioned in an excerpt from a new book coming out next week "Ladies Who Punch" which is a behind the scenes look at The View.  Sounds like Rosie O'Donnell may have had a hand in Nicolle's short tenure there.  I am looking forward to receiving it as much as I was the Michael Wolffe book.

Did you guys hear about Stephanie Ruhle and the CEO of Under Armour?

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/21/under-armour-ceo-reportedly-had-problematic-ties-to-msnbc-anchor.html

Apparently they were/are dating and she's giving him business advice that he takes over his Board of Directors.

My sister and I both have been wondering if something was going on with her, she's been acting really weird on her shows, super hyper and siding with billionaires, corporations etc.  She was blasting a couple of the speakers at Davos re climate change, ie the people who believe in it and wanted to do something.

😂 that subtle dig at the end! Unlike Joe and Mika, they are serious and professional on air.

Somebody at the network must have squawked, because this is how the article ends now:

Like Mika and Joe, Nicolle and Mike make good TV, but unlike the affectionately bickering “Morning Joe” spouses, their dynamic seems solidly serious and nonflirtatious.
