Never got into Swype. I always mis-click on a touch keyboard, whether it's a 10'' tablet or 5.5'' phone. Does it help much?

It was hard to get the hang of it at first but I'm glued to my phone most of the time so I got the hang of it. But now it's kind of a hindrance because nobody else I know uses it on their phones and it runs weird on my tablet so using the one button at a time method is insanely difficult and time consuming.

Eta an actual answer: yes. Very quick and helpful. Downside, typos.

A few things that annoy me are when people use then, but really mean than.  I see that one a lot.  And of course, your/you're

.I had an English Teacher in tenth grade that would take off one step of a letter grade (like dropping and A to and A-) for every "deadly error" which included the than/then, your/you're, to/two/too, there/they're and so on.  So for a very long time I was hyper aware and boy did it bother me, but as I've been away from school longer and longer I find that my brain wants to spell things phonetically more and more so I'm more forgiving of it in others since I know that I know better,  but when I'm writing fast it's like sometimes that part of the brain just shuts down and if I don't take the time to proof it before I post, there's no telling what I end up with.  I'm particularly embarrassed how often I want to spell took as towk.

I came across Dancing with the Stars (which I've watched off and on over the years) the other night -- and was blown away by watching Nyle DiMarco dance!  He's a completely deaf contestant and has to learn to dance from his pro partner, Peta, by getting visual cues from her and just memorizing the steps.  Amazing (found this video on youtube)...

I confess, I've been a regular viewer of DWTS for the last few years.  There are just so many very hot men writhing around shirtless.  Shirtless all the time.

Patrick J. Adams is going to be on LoT as the mystery character that sets up season 2. We don't know if he's going to be a regular character in season 2 or just a few episodes.

That will be an adjustment for me.  I'm kind of pissed at Mike right now.  I was able to separate Rip from Rory on Dr. Who so hopefully I won't see Mike Ross either.

A GB quote in an article about Shakespeare...

Having Shakespeare on your resume will get the attention of casting directors, even when they’re looking for someone to take on a caped crusader.

“Shakespearean actors are perfect for the comic-book world,” said TV producer Greg Berlanti, who often taps classically trained performers as villains for CBS’ “Supergirl” and the CW’s “The Flash.” “They have the ability to make a scene feel real and heightened at the same time. That’s why they’re also ideal for Disney characters and other voice-over work.”

I was a reporter/editor for my high school newspaper for 3 years, so my hyper-awareness of grammar/spelling errors has never left me. I do get very lazy with syntax, though.

My pet peeves are those using "myself" when they should be using "me", and salutations that aren't punctuated properly, like "Hi Laura!".  What really irritates me though is the excuse that "that's how everyone does it these days so it's not wrong".  :(

Could someone also explain to me how "on accident" came about?  The expression had always been "by accident" but I'm seeing "on" more and more frequently.

Last but certainly not least, spelling errors that are made by those clearly not doing even a cursory spell check.  I don't mind the homonyms that are actual words but the typos that are plain gibberish irritate me.

Go Nova! Go Nova!  This morning (and waaay too late last night) I am a proud member of the Nova Nation.

I went to Duke and I'm honestly not sure what made me happier, us winning the National Championship last year or Carolina losing it this year. To say that rivalry is intense is a gross understatement.

I love Greg and Greg/Rebecca. I am so bummed we didn't get an episode this week, I was looking forward to the fallout of this (completely ill-advised) hook-up.

I've wanted them to hook up since the first episode. I'm not hardcore about shipping them, but I find them really entertaining together and I can't wait to see what happens next. And my disappointment was palpable last night when I turned to the CW and saw iZombie on in place of CEG. Not cool, CW. Not cool at all.

The article talks about Benedict Cumberbatch railing against Captain Kirk but left out the original Captain Kirk, William Shatner.  I wish I knew if he chewed the scenery as much at Stratford as he did on the Enterprise.

As a fellow Duke Alumni, I must admit I was super happy that UNC lost as my co-workers can attest. But I was way too invested in UNC losing, I even wore my Duke scrubs to work in solidarity or maybe a little protest. Although I was really bummed I couldn't watch any of the game. We are rolling out a new computer documentation at work, so as a superuser I thought I'd be able to watch at least a little bit, but we were crazy busy!! From the highlights, it looked like an amazing basketball game. :( The championship I think meant more to me last year, I was definitely over the moon. However I was very very excited that UNC lost.

Hey, fellow Dukie!  *waves*  And yes, nothing matches the feeling of winning a championship, but watching Carolina lose was close. LOL.

Ricky Whittle interview with Afterbuzz TV (about his departure from at 15:00 minute mark)

I would pay many, many dollars for a BTS of The CW oral history someday. I want to know EVERYTHING about The 100 situation, and would be happy with just tidbits from Arrow, TVD, etc.

Ricky seems like a very sweet guy.  It was nice of him to encourage people to keep watching The 100, but based on the quality of this season, I'm not sure that I want to.  I just binged a large batch of episodes, and I was bored out of my mind.  I honestly don't know what's happening because I couldn't stop myself from browsing online while the show was playing in the background.  I pretty much don't care about Clarke most of the time, but with her separated off in her own little storyline, I really don't care.  I wasn't happy to see Lexa return because I thought that she was done last season and was leaving for that Walking Dead show, I hate what's happening with Bellamy, and does Raven even have a storyline?  I probably should have paid better attention, because I watched several episodes, but it doesn't feel like anything really happened.  Plus,

they just killed Lincoln off (although I haven't watched that episode yet), and he was one of my faves. I'm so disappointed. I'm happy for Ricky, though, because America Gods sounds like it could be a huge role for him.

.  Honestly, I would have been happy for the show to end this season.

The Felicity Factor:  I was watching the last episode of Motive, and there appeared a petite blonde woman scientist with Felicity glasses and hair just below shoulder length who was described as "a genius" and babbled uncontrollably the instant she met the cute guy who was her love interest.

I never cared for Lincoln and am glad he was killed off, tbh (especially because I've always felt like he limited Octavia's growth). But the whole Bellamy situation is really off-putting and it saddens me way more than Lexa's and Lincoln's death.

Jeez, this type of character existed way before Felicity.

Yes ,the nerdy bespeckled genius existed before Felicity.  But you had to have seen this, she had Felicity hair, Felicity glasses and Felicity 'I lose track of what I'm saying and speak inappropriately' babble.  Bernadette on The Big Band Theory has never reminded me of Felicity but this character did completely.

Also both shows shoot in Vancouver and Kristin Leman has been up against Emily Bett Rickards for the B.C. dramatic actress awards. There's no way the Motive people don't know of Felicity's existence.

and does Raven even have a storyline?

Her leg/hip injury was so painful that it got her benched from going out in the field and she was stuck doing really mundane sorting. I'm blanking on the name but guy who came back from the city of light convinced her to try his magic blue pill that would take away all pain (emotional or physical) and she gave in and she was able to get reinstated since the pain was gone but trade was she had the AI in her head who asked her to do things to help the movement.  Lots of people wanted to now also be enlightened based on her example but Abby questioned what the pill did so she plotted with Monty to steal back the machine that could make the pill/chip that led people to the city of light.  Anyway, at some point Monty starts talking about Finn and Raven realized that she no longer could remember all the good stuff about Finn and she started fighting against the AI in her head and refusing to do her bidding, something no one had ever done before.  I guess that is what continues, her fight.

About Bellamy, he's turned his corner and finally got his head out of his butt.  Of course no one really trusts him though.  I think last we saw him he was chained up in a cave.

This Kristin Lehman plays a geek with no brain to mouth filter? I find that difficult to fathom. She just projects such a cool, collected air.

I guess that the couple of episodes of The 100 sitting on my DVR are where Raven's storyline kicks into gear.

Ha, no.  She plays one of the main detectives on Motive.  The geeky girl with no brain to mouth filter is a guest star, or new cast member on that show, I'm guessing?  I've only seen a few seasons of Motive, so I'm not sure (they took it off the air here in the US).  But it started airing on USA Network as of last Friday (for anyone who cares), so maybe I'll get to see the new seasons.

Jaha. Poor Raven got such a tired, meandering storyline. Although, it does look like things will start to pick-up for her and Abby on the City of Light plots with the next episode. On Bellamy, I have no idea how they are ever going to redeem him. I don't feel that he actually really understands now how incredibly insane and destructive his actions were. It seems like he still believes he did the right thing with the Grounders but his fear of losing Octavia is what ultimately drove him to try to help Lincoln, Kane, and Sinclair. I feel like he'll probably opt to

take the CoL pill as a reset

. I honestly can't wait for this season to end so I can forget all about The 100 and drop it from the DVR.

Man, the Arrow threads move super fast. I'm going through everything right now and trying to speed-read all I've missed before the thing that happens tonight (because I'm weirdly OC about this forum). I have a feeling things will be, especially, busy tonight and tomorrow. I really hope the board doesn't run into any Cloudfront issues because this is my safe place and I'm legit afraid to venture into Twitter or anywhere else unless I absolutely have no other choice.

The geeky girl was a one shot for the episode played by Brittney Wilson (Lissa on Bates Motel).  There aren't any pictures up or streaming yet so I can't show you.

I'm not sure if I'd recommend it or not. It's okay but it just got cancelled to maybe not worth starting.  The premise is interesting, you find out who the killer and victim are at the start and they follow the detectives as they figure out the motive.

From Social Media thread:

Off topic, but I had been wondering about weird BTS stuff possibly happening over on Sleepy Hollow, and now I'm just...hmmm. If anyone's heard anything (involving cast members), please let me know in the Small Talk thread :)

I don't really know anything. I saw some people comment about the biting thing and I googled it and found some gossip articles.

Link to comment

Yeah, I'm gonna put that under pics or it didn't happen.

So, if she was upset that someone didn't wash their hands but is going to bite the same hand? LOL yeah no. That's a whole lot of BS IMO.

During season one of Sleepy Hollow, I remember seeing all of these cute interviews with Nicole Beharie and Tom Mison.  Now, I admit that I don't go seeking that stuff out anymore, but has there been much of that this season?  Maybe I'm just missing it all?  Another thing that I find strange is after SH's shitty second season and the way their prior showrunner nearly got them cancelled, I fully expected the Abbie/Ichabod ship to be full steam ahead.  But there hasn't been this large push to put the couple together, so I was thinking BTS problems?  Maybe?

Link to comment

I have no idea if it is true but, all of the BTS stuff that seemed like they were trying to force NB out of the leading lady role on SH certainly made me wonder.

That was the showrunner having a boner for Katia Winter/Katrina and him forcing her into the romantic lead by resurrecting Ichabod's dead and buried wife..and it was a disaster and ignoring the sizzling chemistry between Mison and Beharie. So stupid.  Katrina was supposed to die in the pilot but nope they brought her back and made it all about the stupid Crane Family Drama and didn't even do it well. Mison and Winter had anti-chemistry like KC and SA. It was awful. And it sidelined Abbie big time. Pissed me off royally. And because they made Katrina more important than Abbie it changed EVERYTHING about the Two Witnesses and the entire fun of the BSC shenanigans. Bah.  They have turned a lot around this season but it still doesn't QUITE have the magic of the 1st season.  Sadly.

Fox didn't invite Beharie to do the DVD commentary on her own show.

Let me preface this by saying I have NO inside information on Sleepy Hollow, this is all my opinion.

This is the common fandom accepted belief and it's certainly a possibility i just know KNOW that it's factually 100% accurate.

There's just something about the whole situation that makes me think there more going on than just a simple situation of a show runner having a hard on for an actress/character.

I don't know what's going on and I'm not trying to blame NB but, it just seems like there's something deeper going on with SH. I suspect SH will get cancelled this season so I, think we'll probably get hints in the next few years that might give us more insight.

Speaking of Nicole Beharie,  did they just drop her from Sleepy Hollow?

Death and passing on the witness role to someone else sounds pretty definitive.

I'm going to spoiler tag so I don't ruin it for anyone.  HUGE Sleepy Hollow spoilers ahead!

So I guess they just killed off Abbie (Nicole Beharie) over on Sleepy Hollow? And I'm guessing this is why all of the Katrina stuff happened in season 2? I mean, it looks like Nicole was basically fired, so apparently there WAS behind the scenes drama going on.

Link to comment

Huh. Weird coincidence considering the blind item discussion

It is but I'm still pretty sure he wasn't talking about NB as the bonkers leading lady. It's also interesting that he did reveal which Blind Item was about SH.

There's definitely more to the BTS Sleepy Hollow stuff, can't wait for it all to come out.

What is this kill off your characters season? I know shows are always killing off characters. It just seems a bit excessive this year or it's just happening on the shows I watch/watched.

Link to comment

I'm honestly curious about THR floating that rumor about SH in talks for renewal earlier today. There's a fascinating bit of PR work going on here. Especially since it seemed very likely that SH would be cancelled this season
