jah1986 Thursday at 04:24 PM Share Thursday at 04:24 PM I don't think we've ever seen Reacher as shook as he was when he found Dominique in the barn. I thought he was going to throw up at one point. Such a shame, she was a great character, Reacher really cared about her. I was relieved they didn't show us the torture, didn't need that at all. Something bad is going to happen to that young agent, Duffy is going to treat him bad one too many times. She tells everyone but him that he's a good kid, I think he needs to hear it from her. Loved Reacher trying to teach Richard to fight, "you will always be the weaker person in a fight", lol. He really likes the kid. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152099-s03e04-dominique/#findComment-8592988

They could have cut it down to a quick scene, showing the same angle of her body hanging, and filled in the rest by having Reacher say in the present time that she did everything right, etc. It felt like filler, and a long way to go to have it link with Duffy and her informant. I'm having a tough time caring about Duffy and her informant, in any case. I like the show's overall premise of Reacher being who he is and drifting into trouble. Sometimes I struggle with connecting with the trouble at hand. I find that New England/Boston accent grating IRL, so I'm sure that's part of it. Also, this thing with Reacher killing people "off the books" is a bit disturbing. 2 hours ago, jah1986 said: Loved Reacher trying to teach Richard to fight, "you will always be the weaker person in a fight", lol. He really likes the kid. Yeah, Reacher likes people who try. They may indeed may not be good at it, but they are trying to improve themselves, which he respects. Also? There are times I just cannot believe that this Anthoney Michael Hall was "The Geek." I'm older, too, I get it. But that is a BIG change. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152099-s03e04-dominique/#findComment-8593080
SeanBug Thursday at 08:06 PM Share Thursday at 08:06 PM I guess Reacher killing people "off book" is correct, but he is working undercover for Duffy, so isn't he authorized to do whatever? Killing or not killing Quinn didn't bother me. But as he fell I said to myself, "wouldn't the cold water stop the bleeding or whatever that theory is that saves people who fall in water after being shot". Why not just throw him off the cliff...because we need him to be alive so Reacher can hunt down his new arch enemy. It was kind of dumb for Quinn to start that "Kohl was in on it" bs. Like seriously? That's your best idea? Duffy's accent is getting annoying. You're not in an Affleck Dunkin' Donuts commercial. Take it down a notch. 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152099-s03e04-dominique/#findComment-8593155
Tachi Rocinante Friday at 01:22 AM Share Friday at 01:22 AM I keep waiting for the young agent to fuck up and let the informant escape. They keep teasing it. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152099-s03e04-dominique/#findComment-8593366

I wasn't expecting a whole episode dedicated to the backstory. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152099-s03e04-dominique/#findComment-8593477
Mrs. Stanwyck Friday at 10:13 PM Share Friday at 10:13 PM How was Quinn not arrested when he ended up in the emergency room claiming he couldn't remember anything? Wouldn't the police have been called to the hospital when someone with a bullet to the head was brought in? Wouldn't they have run fingerprints? As someone in the military wouldn't his prints have been in the system? By that time, the police would have been aware that he killed Kohl and, as far as they knew, was in the wind. thuganomics85 Friday at 10:38 PM Share Friday at 10:38 PM I guess Quinn really was just surprised and definitely flying by the seat of his pants, because it really is hard to sell the whole "We were in on it together and she betrayed me, so I had to take her out!" story, when you went out of your way to literally string her up and torture her before you kill her. Man isn't just an evil human being but a horrible improv artist! The flashback didn't hold anything too surprising, but it was still hard to watch, knowing what Dominque's fate was. Not just a protege of Reachers, but someone who mirrored him in a lot of ways, and he probably saw a lot of himself in her. It was enough that he ended up going against his own rules and made Quinn's execution a spectacle instead of just putting a bullet in his head quickly, and that's why he's still dealing with him now. Yeah, Eliot/younger agent is so doomed. The way Duffy keeps dismissing him is clearly leading to her having guilt over her treatment towards him once the shoe drops. Still like Sonya Cassidy, but her accent really does seem to be getting even worse somehow. Hopefully Reacher teaching Richard to fight isn't leading to another heartbreak. Instead, I'm hoping it leads to it saving him at the right moment, If the one-man wanderer gig ever gets boring, Reacher should consider hosting a dating show. He offers the best advice ("Take her to dinner!" "Bring flowers!" "But not roses!" "Only assholes bring roses!") Way back in the first season I knew the author wasn't American, at least knew nothing about the US Army although they hit upon CID and not a MP company in the second season. Then we regressed here with the pre Special Investigator subject being a 40 year old Specialist. This season it's the DEA assaulting and kidnapping a bodyguard much less authorizing killing people would see the 3 agents who are not 008,009 and 0010 in prison, and probably not a Club Fed one at that.
