I think he’s just bored to death and trying to have fun to pass the time.  Karla is sweet, but a Dingbat.  I have no idea what she’s all about.  Neither does he.  It’s like she’s from another planet and she alone knows what shes saying.

As someone who has earned a living doing actual energetic healing, Tarot reading, and other metaphysical work, I would love to get Karla one on one and drill down on the nonsense she spouts.  She would fold like a cheap suit if she were called on that drivel. And the people the show got to pose as healers and readers are pretty sad.

I did, and they could use some whitening. But if he likes them and they’re healthy (bad teeth can lead to other health problems), so what? Also dental work is really expensive, so unless Madison plans to pay for it, she needs to shut up. It’s pretty insulting the way she finds new ways to tell him she’s not attracted to him each episode.

David also seemed to have aligners on his teeth during last week's Afterparty. I could see the shiny reflection off the plastic and he was talking with a noticeable lisp he never had on the show. Probably Madison's influence again since I doubt David would feel compelled to go do that on his own.

I actually think it's funny, in a pathetic way, that Allen, and maybe David are changing their looks and style all to attempt to win the heart of a heartless woman. Madison is immature and selfish and only cares about surface-level things, like teeth. And partying. She is not the glamour girl she thinks she is and I still think she looks very masculine and has stupid extensions. Michelle, as much as I detest her, usually looks good on Afterparty and she does have a nice figure. Other than that, she is horrible, personality-wise. And both of them laugh WAY too much!

His teeth didn't look that bad to me.  I'll bet she doesn't have perfect teeth either.

Madison is certainly not a natural raving beauty like some women are. I was incredulous when a few episodes back, she said something to the effect that with her looks, it had been very difficult for her to get ahead in her career because people thought of her as just a pretty face. I was like, "Sweetie, just stop all the extreme maintenance and you'll see what it's like to try to get ahead in a career without people thinking that."

Nothing new to add - was a little shocked at Camille's "that was nice" comment.  Tom looked surprised, and not in a good way, over that.   Allen will get hurt because his so-called "friend" David is involved with his wife.  They are supposed to remain faithful for the full 8 weeks or whatever it is.  A gentlemen would not behave like that.  He should wait until the time is up and then approach the woman.  But she is no lady either, so there's that.   He should thank his lucky stars for the escape.

Juan cannot be enjoying all this crap Karla is having him do. If she wants affection from him, maybe she should approach things differently.  Although I don’t think he has much interest so it probably doesn’t matter.

Why does Emem have such little self worth that she keeps saying she wants to give the marriage a chance? The guy hates her, has no redeeming qualities, has no sense of humor and is downright scary looking at times. Dr. Pia should have shut things down and discussed safety with Emem.

Tom and Camille looked nice together this episode. Maybe there’s a chance.

Look who’s walk of shaming her ass in at 4 in the morning while her husband is sleeping on that damn uncomfortable looking couch! No wonder poor Allen wanted to drive after a few drinks to get away. He doesn’t have a comfortable place to sleep! Then that sleaze bag has the audacity to take him shopping for a better wardrobe while she is wearing a poop colored tight Lululemon knockoff looking onesie with an oversized shirt over it. She is horrible! We think Allen’s taken enough when the Invisalign shows up because she wants him to have giant white perfect oversized teeth like what’s happening in her own face. I’m surprised Amazon didn’t deliver a clip on poofy ponytail for him.

David, David David. I certainly understand why he would be texting other women but end your damn marriage first! Nobody would blame him. Michelle has given him nothing, nada, zilch, zero. She won’t quit though so he should have done so. She would have found fault with anything and everything he did. She was never going to be impressed with him.

Here’s creepy Ikechi showing up with a divorce paper. What an absolute cad.

How dare David tell Allen to stop talking? That low down dirty scoundrel is most likely canoodling with Allen’s wife, has Allen get him a whiskey and then tells him not to talk about how he wouldn’t text another woman behind his wife’s back? He’s downright dirty.

I thought he looked great in his new wardrobe. Some other woman is really going to love the new and improved Allen.

I'll admit it. I love Allen. He reminds me of my husband. My husband isn't a traditionally macho guy but he is the strongest and kindest person I know. He has been stuff that would break most people and he has just come through it all with a grace and dignity and love that are beautiful to see. Like Allen, my husband would throw together a beautiful meal for a group of friends and would genuinely hope that everyone enjoyed it. Like Allen, my husband (who really could not care less about what he or anyone else looks like) would dress up to try to make me feel beautiful next to him. I don't dislike Madison but she is not attracted to Allen and isn't going to be. I hope they both find someone who loves them for who they are.

Juan's pornstache is unflattering. I hope that goes.

Good for you!  I believe that after this is all over Madison may look back on these times and regret letting such a good guy go.

Pretty is as pretty does...as the saying goes.  Madison is attractive in a good time bar girl kind of way.

As she ages she will have  ..  Nothing of value like a good man and a family.

As I get along in life, I see more and more people with bad teeth. I mean genuinely bad, crooked, missing teeth in the back teeth. Allen's teeth aren't bad. Just not perfect. This is another thing that the world has convinced people of. That super straight, bright teeth are the norm. They absolutely aren't. There are a bunch of reasons for that. But, Allen's teeth are fine. It barely registers next to what I see in the regular world on a daily basis.

I feel a bit icky talking about people’s looks. But here I go anyway since no one else said it for me to just give a thumbs up to, lol… Looks like I will be the only one to admit that I notice Allen’s bad teeth every time he talks. I think that’s his worst physical trait, if we’re going to be superficial. On the plus side, he’s tall and has a deep voice, so that automatically gives him an advantage physically, that maybe you can ignore his weak chin and big nose and say he’s perfectly fine. But the teeth… If they were crooked or yellow, maybe I could overlook it, but crooked and yellow?!? I don’t blame Madison for not wanting to kiss that mouth. Teeth are something that can easily be fixed. I agree that “veneer culture” has gotten out of hand with those terrible, fake-ass looking white billboard across your mouth. But getting a whitening toothpaste and braces or Invisalign doesn’t seem unreasonable, especially for someone who seems to be fairly financially stable and successful. it’s not unusual for people whose parents couldn’t afford braces to get them as an adult. And it sounds like his parents maybe weren’t giving him the care he needed—unless the judge would’ve ordered the other parent pay an orthodontist bill. Now if she was like, get a nose job or a jaw implant or something major—screw you, Madison! But I don’t think she’s really being that unreasonable to suggest invisilign and clothing without a produce pattern. Now, the fact that she’s probably fucking David and has no intention of staying—maybe that’s another story! But if she really did have an intention of making it work out, I think the suggestion of trying Invisilign isn’t as bad as Camille telling Tom he has no swag. I guess they’re both trying to change their looks, but the fix your teeth seems to be the more reasonable request rather than trying to change their entire style, so the shopping trip with the stylist really bothered me more the way she wasn’t “allowing” him to have his hat or his shades, etc. The style overhaul aside, Allen can still be Allen—but with straight teeth! It’s giving me flashes of “fucking good person” Alyssa who refused to even talk to her husband on their honeymoon because of his bad teeth. I mean, he dodged a bullet there. But what if she just said, hey, would you be willing to consult an orthodontist? Would things have been different? (I mean, no, because she was a monster!! But, you know what I mean.) Allen will look a million times better once he gets those teeth straightened out, with or without Madison. It will be the one positive he’ll get out of this show.

I don't really agree that Allen has awful teeth (like I said earlier, the discoloration stands out to me more than the crookedness), but if it's acceptable and even applauded here to call Madison a man, Camille fat, shame Karla for being flat-chested, etc. then it's fine for someone to say they don't like Allen's teeth.

Also, probably one of the only things MAFS has over dating shows of this type. They often feel more like real people. Not like someone who got printed out of reality show factory.

That's part of the reason why I don't run people down for this stuff. I'm not perfect anyway. There is that.

I could never be on a show like this. Your looks will be torn to shreds. I know they signed up for it but they are strong people to put themselves out there for the ridicule. The money ain't worth it to me.

Madison looks like a standard reality show cutout. Allen looks like a regular guy I would see anywhere. Nothing wrong with him or that. But, they just don't match up well because of that.

They can miss me with these makeover segments. These women are not into these guys. A suit or a nice pair of jeans is not changing that. Just straight up wasting time.

You are right.  In the beginning, the show was legit as a few couples got marrid and had children.  Then it got sloppy and unbelievable.  Also, there are a few dating/marriage shows on Netflix.  They didn’t do a good job casting lately on this show.  We all could have done better.  I’m not paying more money for this garbage.

I couldn't agree more!!! I was just supporting you--joking/making the larger point that there are whole nations where people really don't care about teeth as much as they do in the US.  I love clothes so I will sometimes critique an outfit on these boards--but never someone's looks.  I personally think Alan is attractive, and I love that he embraces his own flaws, including his teeth.  I also liked the broccoli underwear.

I don't think Emem actually wants the marriage at this point; she's just denying him ammunition. Emem realizes that if she at least says the right things, she 1) saves some face so that no one (like Ikechi) can claim she wasn't in it for the right reasons and 2) annoys Ikechi far more because he ends up looking like a fool and the bad guy. As Blu Cantrell sang, it's a shame we have to play these games. But this guy was never about the partnership, just the television exposure.

Who picked this sorry bunch in the first place.  Put-us posters all there and we will do the picking..  Obviously, seems like some very young guys chose them.  I think they all just wanted to be on tv and get the money.  In the beginning some couples really married and are still together.  Now it’s just get the money and run.  Waste of our time and eyes.

It seems like they always have trouble getting men to appear, so they are recruited, but it still seems to me that some of these women did originally want to be married. I think Emem may have wanted to really find a husband, so that's why she is clinging to following the process and saying that she wants the "marriage" to work. But, she doesn't, if she has two working brain cells.

I think we have other women who just wanted to find a reasonable plus-one to add to their existing lives. We get a lot of those women. They don't want to change or compromise, but they want a permanent date to adore them.

I am afraid that with the move to Peacock, they will all be a bunch of people who want SM or influencer points and no one will take this seriously. Maybe they will all just be put in a room and let them decide on their own matches from the ones who have been picked. Couldn't end up any worse. I think if they went back to not doing things (living, activities) in the total group, they would have better results.

I think a show like this just has a limited time, because people see what it's about and figure, "I could do that to be on tv!"  It's a mystery to me that so many people just want to be on tv.  And I'm too old to understand or care about having "followers".  People who already have peacock may watch it, but I don't see too many new subscribers signing up for this at this point!  Seems to me like just another bad decision in a field of many.  And the people in charge are the ones with all of the bad ideas!  As far as putting them all together and letting them pick - they kind of tried that once with the MAFS "bachelor in paradise" knock-off - but instead of letting them hang out and see if anything happened, they had one cocktail party where you had to be paired up by the end of it or go home, then forced those instant pairs into couples counseling!  It was ludicrous 😄

I'm so glad you said something about this. I couldn't figure out why that reader woman seemed so off, right from the start. She didn't have the vibe/aura of a reader, she didn't speak like a reader, and she had no insights (she basically just used what Juan said, rather than the cards, it seemed).

Great catch! Wonder if Karla was told to say that, since whatever woman off the street actress they got to play the role of the reader, was really awful.

When Ikechi brought the "divorce" papers I was glad to see Emem not sign them, but something else that the Ikechi (or the producers) didn't think of was that there needs to be a notary there when the papers are signed, not to mention having your own attorney review them (which she did mention I think).

I loved the "divorce paper"!! And I genuinely think he was confused that there was only one piece of paper in the folder, with nowhere to sign. I don't know how he received the folder, or why he hadn't looked closely at the contents, but the way that he repeatedly asked her to sign, even when she pointed out it was only one page of a longer document and there was no place to sign, made me think he genuinely thought she should sign anyway. And I don't remember hearing her say anything about getting a lawyer to look over the real papers if she had them...in fact, she kept saying that if all the papers were there, she'd sign it, and I kept yelling "You better not, not without a lawyer taking a look!"

These false perceptions on the part of Ikechi have been going on the whole time, and I really wished that Pastor Cal had called him out on it far more than he did, when Ikechi was slamming Emem for asking him to move in on the honeymoon (normal protocol for this show) and for trying to make the marriage work regardless of who it was to (expected protocol for this show).

I gotta disagree. When they replayed the actual wedding and conversation before his admissions, she was sooo giggly and excited. I think he was exactly her physical type and that fooled her, until he took his hair down from the bun and also started exposing his true self at that time...a sloppily dressed, underemployed smoker living in a 20s bro-looking "apartment" in his parents' basement.

Also, David is disgusting too. That Afterparty tea that he and Madison ditched Karla to go "look for Madison's phone" for almost half an hour all but confirmed what has been going on between them. Can't wait to see Allen give David the big "F U" he deserves next week for acting chummy with Allen this whole time while on the DL bringing his wife back to the basement for late night hookups and tacos.

That tidbit on the Afterparty was really revealing, and added further to David's sketchiness The whole time, he has been saying that he received the food picture text, and sent the "eat you up" text, when he was out with Allen and Madison. And while that technically may have been true, David apparently left out the part where Karla and Madison ditched the guys (I guess at some point Karla and Juan joined them) to go dancing, and he joined them.  The disappearing to look for Madison's phone with David, rather than with Karla who's the one Madison came with, is soooo sketchy.  And Madison storming away from the dinner table for no significant reason other than her extreme discomfort that the conversation was veering dangerously towards exposing her, was basically a public admission of guilt!

I think he googled "divorce," printed the papers off the internet and failed to notice that his printer ran out of paper after the first page. He grabbed the page, stuck it in a folder to make it look "official" and then jumped in the car to go stir up some shit at the couple's retreat.

Idiot.
