S19.E20: For Everything There Is a Season

Recommended Posts

I liked that Janelle did not tell Kody she was moving. He found out from one of the kids. Probably Mykelti since not many of his kids still talk to him.

Janelle leaving that tree pendant Kody designed(?) at the Plotz Plot made me think of the news that Kody melted down his wedding ring to Meri before the start of this reality show. A little knife to Kody's kidneys there? Payback is an ex-wife. Janelle said she liked the necklace but it's good to leave Kody behind. I imagine someone will take it and list it online to get some cash. I wish Janelle had done that.

On a side note, I didn't like that tree design at all. It was dark metal with gnarled tree trunk, heavy and clunky. I wear a medallion style Tree of Life necklace where the tree is high polished, shiny, and has a perfect shape, which is what I want to symbolize LIFE. Not something dark, twisted, and gnarled.

Christine and Janelle are the only reason I watch this show anymore. I enjoyed their convo in the car. Shades of Thelma and Louise. Christine confessed that she was needy and didn't know how needy she was until looking back. And then there's Janelle who has never been in a bar, done a shot and doesn't drink really, but Christine chides that Janelle needs a little bad influence to loosen up.

Meri is talking about not having the B&B and/or not living there. Oh Meri, why did we all just go thru your renovation of the garage carriage house to your small business office then? She's probably only throwing out innuendo to keep people guessing. Is that all you got?

I did like the preview of upcoming truths like Robyn was never Meri's friend, etc. We already know but we need to hear from Meri. I'm glad Jen is there to remind Meri how backstabbing Robyn really is. Kody blasting at Suki letting his inner psychopath out for all the lawyers to document.

I wish Tamron Hall would be the moderator again.  Or Natalie Morales.  I am inclined to believe they were too "hard" on the delicate man child that is Kody, and he told TLC that he didn't like their "hard" questioning.  🙄  JMO.

So now Alec Baldwin is going to have a reality show so he can support his what?  Seven kids under 10 years old?  Call me crazy, but I think it's nuts when men over their mid 50's father that many kids.  YMMV.

I do wonder how often people visit that Plotz Plot, and if anyone helps themselves to things that are left there.  Meri should visit the place and leave that "loyalty" necklace that Kody "designed" for her, there as well.

I prefer what Meri actually did with the pendant.  She put it as a charm on the dog's collar.

@Meow Mix I tried to quote you, but I’m lame. You said “Aurora is rejecting the AUB to become a mainstream Protestant”. I don’t want to argue or disagree with anyone, but I’ve looked at the website of Aurora’s new church, and as a lifelong Episcopalian, this church is not mainstream Protestant.

I do understand as I am a super progressive Baptist (my former church was one of the first to bless same sex marriages long before it was legal), but technically the strip mall church is still Protestant.  Maybe mainstream is a little strong a description, but compared to the AUB, it could seem that way to Kody and Robyn.

I think Janelle living in student housing is partly why she had money to plough into buying land. She had SW (and her MLM) income still coming in and didn't spend it. I believe her big RV whatsit also made the move to NC so it's quite possible she currently lives rent free in Maddie's driveway.

Also, she seems practical and probably never lived high off the hog.  I base that mainly on her home choices and I think she once said she drove an old car to keep costs down. Even the house she wanted to build on Coyote Pass wasn’t very big. She called it a casita and described it as an apartment over a garage type thing.

And I wish I knew how to do screen grabs, but what was that crazy face she made when she blathered that "I never paid attention to whose house Kody was at!  I never knew!

Also, she's full of it, because last season, she TOLD Meri (on the show) that one time, she tracked how much time Kody spent with them, because he spent a disproportionate amount of time with Christine.

I hate to ask, but what is the Plotz Plot, and why would Janelle leave something there?

Why would anyone want to watch anything with Alec Baldwin?  To me he is one of the most unlikeable public figures (I've never forgotten his recorded conversation calling his young teenage daughter every name in the book).

That may be why the date Sisterwives comes back is TBA.  If audiences detest the Baldwins, Sisterwives may be back sooner. I wonder which accent Hillary will use - her Boston or her Charo accent?

My guess is that we will detest the Baldwins, lol.  Any interest will be to listen to his wife's fluid accent and to see his eleventy-seven kids run around and scream, from the preview I've seen.  Watching two adults pretend to be overrun by the many children they've brought into the world is not must-see tv by any means.  I would rather watch Robyn and Kody paint another picnic table.

Baptism was around before Jesus - John the Baptist was baptizing people and Jesus and his disciples baptized people.

Perhaps in Robyn's mind there were no significant years before she joined the family - thus her reference to the early years.  Not sure exactly what she contributed except a new bunch of kids and debt apparently.

I get the part if the Trinity, I just thought that  baptism is more associated with Jesus.  Not a huge deal, I just thought avoiding Jesus seemed odd.

I read your passage.  Jesus is not being baptized to himself, but to God.  I would expect that is the idea.  I'm sure the moderators won't let this topic go much longer so feel free to PM me if you wish (not sure there is much more to say tho).

Both girls seem so young and unwordly.  I worry about them.

This made me laugh out loud. I'm pretty sure this is a typo and you meant "unworldly", but unWORDly is equally fitting. For college students, their vocabulary seems extremely limited.

I just wonder why Aurora looks like she is going to have a nervous breakdown every time she has to speak to Kody.  I suppose it comes from years and years of Robyn training Aurora and Brianna how to approach their volatile egotistical sensitive new daddy, who was kind enough to take them in and give them shelter from their big meanie real dad - you know, the guy Robyn sent them to for a nice long visit right after they'd been adopted by Kody.  I get the feeling that those two girls walk on eggshells all the time, for fear of insulting Big Daddy or making Mom cry again (and again and again and......)

At least the reality fakery will be performed by someone who can actually act.  Alec, that is, not Señora Baldwin.

So I feel like the reaction from Kody and Robyn vis a vis the baptism has to do with their LDS roots. While moving around amongst various Protestant denominations is pretty common,  the LDS faith is pretty unique and has some very specific beliefs and directives.  I personally wonder how much of the AUB/LDS religion Kody has "lost" and how much he's just mad at the church leaders. Does he still believe in celestial marriage? His own planet? Are he and Robyn concerned that if Aurora (Breanna?) pledges fealty to a different church that they will lose her in the afterlife?  Protestant churches are also pretty clear that the bible is the ONLY text -- do K and R still believe in the Book of Mormon?

I don't really give a  shit about the sad daughters' church affiliation, but if they are going to force it down our throats, at least give us the juicy bits!

I have other thoughts.  I'm genuinely worried about them.  Something is very wrong there.

Aurora talked a lot about God with her baptizing, but I thought that particular ceremony is about Jesus.  She seems like a sweet girl.

I wonder why Meri never mentions her child…..hardly ever.
It’s good she has good friends.

I’m not a fan of shots.  Funny, those who are love to push it on others.  I’m not sure why. Lol

Leon has asked not to be talked about on the show.
