Nerfect Drifty Thursday at 11:21 PM Share Thursday at 11:21 PM I also liked that they made the last round a best 2 out of 3 affair. I am disappointed that it was won in two rounds though. I would have liked to see what the third duel was. I guess they had some category in reserve that nobody had picked, or maybe the unused one from season 1. 2 Link to comment
iMonrey Thursday at 11:26 PM Share Thursday at 11:26 PM Yeah I wanted to know what the tie-breaker category would have been too. I'm also glad the show restrained itself from including Rob Lowe's picture in the "Game Show Hosts" duel. 🤣 1 Link to comment
mlp Thursday at 11:46 PM Share Thursday at 11:46 PM I would have been happy with either of the two finalists winning. I liked both of them. It's interesting what people tend to know. I would have picked Periodic Table much earlier in the game and knew most of them. I knew none of the Sneakers. I knew all the Shakespeare quotes and would never have been able to identify National Parks from one picture. I find putting names to faces in a split second difficult too. I love this game and I'm looking forward to season 3. 3 Link to comment
Rickster Friday at 04:20 AM Share Friday at 04:20 AM While this is an entertaining show to watch, the structure bothers me. It seems the winner gets chosen at random, purely based on the way categories are played. Periodic Table guy had to play twice, if I’m not mistaken. If I’m watching to see someone win $250,000, I want to see some dominance in knowledge, not just a lucky roll of the dice. Link to comment

I get what you're saying but no one person has an advantage over anyone else, so even though it doesn't seem quite fair in ways, it actually is. I do think Keelan had an advantage in having a really, really intimidating category nobody wanted to challenge. And yes, some of the categories seem childishly simply compared to some of the others, so there's sort of an imbalance there, but it all evens up at the end. To sum up: it's unfair. But it's fair. LOL. 3 Link to comment
wenhiku Friday at 05:46 PM Share Friday at 05:46 PM I was curious what the topic would be if they had had to go three rounds to determine the winner. Was there a category that did not get played during the game? Link to comment

LOL. If the producers pick the category everybody gets, then naturally people who can get the producers to stick them with their category of choice I would also like to mention that Keelan could've gotten knocked out if Keelan was chosen by the randomizer at any point during the finale, as he would have to play something other than periodic table(We saw this with Mena in the beginning). The randomizer didn't pick him, and it once again illustrates the issue everyone was saying(if you are the last to get picked, you will win) and now it's just being gamed by winning one duel, waiting for everyone else to go, keeping your OG category, hoping the leader picks off the others, and once again, hoping you didn't get picked by the randomizer. If Keelan gets picked at any point during this finale by the randomizer he almost for sure does not win as he likely sucks at Shakespeare. Catherine(blue jacket) tried to knock Keelan out via "Russian roulette" as she called it, and failed. It's once again about being picked as the last one, but this season it was just about being the last person to have your OG category. There is something inherently wrong with the randomizer that needs to be fixed because the two-square thing makes it so easily gameable until the end of the season. It's better to be randomized then to be challenged because you will keep your original category in the process. You are then safe with your original category until someone challenges you(not to mention the edge/corner strategy) if you go back to the floor because your original category scares them off, which in turn would keep you safe until everyone has dueled. But all this power, for one duel(yes you might have bad options for duel choices) seems a bit too OP. 6 hours ago, wenhiku said: I was curious what the topic would be if they had had to go three rounds to determine the winner. All categories were played, and we never found out officially, but I think a contestant said that it was going to be international Foods(the unplayed category from season 1). It really pays to have a tough category nobody wants to challenge, and Keelan just basically stood there all season until the end. I was 50/50 on accessories, based on a true story, lab equipment and Shakespeare. I didn't know ANY of the sneakers. Guess I'm not a shoe person. And I recognized almost all the game show hosts, but names are tough. I know them but it's hard to come up with the name quickly. I sucked at CEOs too. Right out of the gate, Jayna made a huge mistake challenging national parks instead of going back to the floor and defending her own category, because nobody wanted to challenge Shakespeare either. I would have sucked at national parks, I think I guessed maybe 2 of them. Fun show. Bring on the next season! Called it periodic dude for the win. I actually knew a lot of them . Nat parks and sneakers were harder for me. My hardest category in the finale was Shakespeare. I still have no idea what is the best strategy and I’ve watched both seasons. I was confused on the finale about what they should do. But yes so much more satisfying than season 1. Liked the 2-3 but was curious what would be the tiebreaker has anyone spilled? Rob said at the end when recruiting for next season that’s it’s the number one game show. Link to comment

That's the whole point of the randomizer, it's random, and what you do has no bearing in who is chosen by it, the only thing you know is that it picks people who haven't been picked & the only way to have any say is to pick people yourself. The randomizer could pick someone first, last, or anywhere in between. Now maybe you could make a case for the concept being wrong or bad but if that is how you feel then go watch something else because it's not changing anytime soon. Link to comment

Taeolas 6 hours ago Share 6 hours ago I'm calling shenanigans on the Accessories category. Angie said Hajib and they didn't give it to her. They usually aren't that picking on pronounciation and it sounded pretty close to me. I do wonder what they do if the judges do mess up? Interrupting a challenge midway would be difficult, but something would have to be done. In any case, I'm glad it was a Best of 3 battle in the end. I suspect there is a 101st category everyone knows about, but it isn't mentioned until its needed. This time it wasn't needed. And that said, as a science nerd, I would've been all over Periodic Table long before the final challenge. I nailed most of them including some she passed on. Most of the rest of the categories I was FUBARed in of course. :) Link to comment

Also Accessories, they showed a pic of stockings (hosiery), but the contestant said pantyhose and the pic was labeled as pantyhose. I realize that younger generations don't wear either anymore, but they are two different articles of clothing and it was labeled wrong from the get go. Between this & Led Zep and ELO as spin off bands... (is anyone there over 45 to fact check stuff?? besides Rob, I mean...) Edited 3 hours ago by borealis Link to comment
