I didn’t even recognize the restaurant. The decor looked dark, like black and purple. They ordered the goat cheese balls, shishito peppers, something else, and mashed potatoes. Then the waiter said he’d come back for their entree order so it wasn’t like they were making a meal of the apps and added a side. I was thinking maybe it was something fancy like mashed potatoes with poached lobster or something, so I specifically looked at it on the table, and it was just a regular old bowl of mashed potatoes as far as I could tell.

ETA: I’m mixing up two scenes now. The dark decor I didn’t recognize is when Charli was the waitress. When they ordered all the apps, it was just SUR. Lisa sat down with them.

ETA again: Okay, I just looked up the SUR menu. The mashed potatoes is a side not an app and…it has butter poached lobster! How did I guess that?!? Ya basic, Lisa!

They both seemed to enjoy it thoroughly. She was so happy about the fun times spent together, and that was sad to watch as  both enjoyed themselves. Personally, I would have loved it, as I love ice skating, roller blading would be fun as well.  
I don’t agree that Sandy was clearly checked out. He threw her a super fun birthday party, as well. But the way he looked at Raquel, wow.

Lisa’s injury could have been a lot worse. My daughter, when she was in college, ran a horse program at a summer camp. One day on a trail ride her horse got spooked and threw her. Appeared to be more footage in the column of duplicitous evil rachel than duplicitous evil sandy.

Wonder why? Could be in the VPR zip code misogyny rules and he has tenure or we would have seen the extended scene of sandy's verbal abuse to Terri heard across the nation. He'll return cause he needs the dough, has more avenues for storyline, and his bloated ego is not / will not be affected by the backlash.

I'm guessing the failed pageant contestant will not be back due to her tenuous and frail mental health, she's a chick, nobody can stand her, her legal actions toward cast members, stage dad, she is too strange to watch and has no storyline other than round three of being a barnacle on another castmember. I don't think she has to worry about being out of the spotlight. I suspect once she is released from the mental health facility her crisis pr team says she's in and she gets back her "hacked" social media accounts her better self will be on display. 

Now that their double life has been exposed they are free to Touch In Public, I just don't want to watch it.

To me there were only two compelling scenes in this episode. One was the roller skating scene because frankly Tom looked like he was having a blast and he is just not that good of an actor. So his bs about their failing relationship is just that... b.s. 

The other scene was at the craft place. Oooh boy... that really highlighted Rachel's capacity for bald face lying to a friend. Yikes! 

Oh, and I threw up in my mouth a little at the scene in Ariana's house in which Rachel  shows up with flowers and she and Tom joke about how long its been since they have seen each other. Gross! Vomit! They are terrible people with no shame.

Exactly. No fucking around in the friend group. I don't think she gives a damn if he dates, mates, whatever. Just not with their friends, and I don't blame her. Plus, he agreed and broke his promise, while simultaneously helping Raquel and Tom stab Ariana in the heart. Schwartz deserves all of the bad karma he's experiencing.

Stupid Raquel probably wants to return to VPR because she's stupid like that. The Toms could give her a job at S&S. I wonder, though, whether Sandoval would kind of hate that. Sneaking around was one thing and the thrill of it all was a blast for him, but does he really want to be around her all of the time? Would they live together? She'd be like a Stage 5 clinger.

I see your point, but speaking only for myself, she is just just way too strange and unlikable. It was watchable for me only because it has been a recently revealed scenario and character revelation. But, as far as I’m concerned, she’s too far over the cliff and gross to watch.

We have recently just learned about her being a chronic, pathological liar. No redeeming qualities. Big moocher yet carries Prada bag. Uses others for money and connections, James ,Scheana, friend’s apartment for filming. Etccc. People even raised money for her nose job, no sense of dignity.

Before this big reveal, we did not know anything about her, so thought she was like able and cute. Now, the wolf in sheepskin is too far gone, like when Jax crossed the line.

I am sure that some others will be happy to watch though, just not me. When it’s too crazy, I’m out!

• Sandoval and Arriana had some quality time at an outdoor skating rink, where they wondered why their friend's didn't like Raquchel. Ouch!
• Schwartz went on a first date and was mildly successful. 
• Katie, LaLa, and successful businesswoman Lisa Vanderbucks gossiped about Sandoval and Rachel over appetizers and a bowl of mashers, but it was OK since they no longer were her employees.
• DJ Muppet Baby's reaction to Scandoval.
• Elderly equestrian Lisa VanderBucks fell off a horse, breaking her leg in four (!) places. Understandably, she was hesitant about literally getting back on the saddle.

I believe Raquel is a sociopath with a dissociative disorder. She has an image or persona she’s portrayed since being on the show. This is used to hide her core, true character.

For the first 5 years on VPR, Raquel’s persona was the spineless mute. She is timid, quiet, stupid, her head is in the clouds, and she is weak. She is a victim and/or easily victimized. She plays the role of victim, so that others feel sorry for her and/or stick up for her.

Isn’t it ironic that her TV persona is so different from the girl who slutted herself up to aggressively pursue James to get on the show.

The real Raquel is cunning, conniving, a user, competitive with women. She’s extremely superficial. She has a strange relationship with men, she wants all men in her vicinity to desire her even if she doesn’t desire them. I don’t think that she was faithful to James and hasn’t been faithful to Tom. She collects men – for validation. She is extremely thirsty to stay on the show. She doesn’t just want Ariana’s boyfriend, she wants Ariana’s life.

Raquel doesn’t have a conscious. The only thing she is committed to is lying.

I think the reason Raquel returned to interview 6 days later, was because Tom did something at the reunion that pissed her off. He didn’t do something at the reunion that he was supposed to. Maybe he was supposed to say how they couldn’t help themselves because they are truly in love and this would guarantee her a spot for next season and she’d be on the show as Sandoval’s girlfriend.

On the 6 day later interview, fallback mode went into high gear. She is controlled by Sandoval, she does what he says, she’s afraid how he’ll react when he sees the interview. She portrays him as her Svengali. She needs to put this out there, so that people won’t think she’s 100% complicit. She said she felt guilty, she said she’s tired of lying, she wants to tell the truth, and she hates hurting people. Look at her actions since March 29th – she’s stayed in touch with Tom, she sent letters and postcards to the house – knowing Ariana was at home. Right after she said she wanted to tell the truth – she lied.

Her PR said she was in a mental health facility. This is again to paint Raquel the victim. I think they implied that Tom groomed her. Then they said she was getting death threats. Again to garner sympathy. Then they said they contacted the FBI – again to garner sympathy.

She will be back on VPR, if Tom has her as his girlfriend on the show. The mental health diagnosis will be she was overcome with the burden of guilt and shame she felt and she has issues with alcohol. The reason she is still with Tom and why she's back on VPR, because it’s true love.

There was a scene where the girls are out drinking - the one where Katie walks in later.

Raquel was talking about a guy that loved going down on her for hours.

What is bizarre about that is I heard Kael mention it, I heard Nema mention it, and I heard Scheana mention it. All on different podcasts.

Kael, Nema, Scheana all said this is a story Raquel said to each of them. Each one of them responded, good for you, you do you, girl.

I think she told Kael because he was like an older brother, and she told Scheana because she was like the big sister. They said exactly what she wanted - which was them encouraging her to open up, come out of her shell, - this in the aftermath of James.

I think she told Nema, because she thought he would think it was hot. I think she was hoping he would be jealous.

I also think the norm in Raquel's life is that men will fuck her but they don't really want her as the main chick. I think most of them sense that there is something off with her - like she's off her rockers.

At the time Raquel was on the show, she knew James had a thing for Lala and had sex with her before. Lala also could sing and had a common interest with James in music. To Raquel, Lala was a threat. If Lala decided she wanted James back, James would have dropped Raquel like a hot potato - which in turn means, Raquel wouldn't get another season on VPR.

The podcaster discusses how Rachel seems envious of both Ariana and Lala. They are both confident and don’t really care what others think of them.

This podcaster went and rewatched every episode since Rachel first appeared, I believe.

At one point Rachel said that it bothers her that Lala’s self-esteem is through the roof (I will edit this after I listen again). The podcaster thinks it’s odd that Rachel should take issue with this.

I think the reason Raquel returned to interview 6 days later, was because Tom did something at the reunion that pissed her off. He didn’t do something at the reunion that he was supposed to. Maybe he was supposed to say how they couldn’t help themselves because they are truly in love and this would guarantee her a spot for next season and she’d be on the show as Sandoval’s girlfriend.

On the 6 day later interview, fallback mode went into high gear. She is controlled by Sandoval, she does what he says, she’s afraid how he’ll react when he sees the interview. She portrays him as her Svengali. She needs to put this out there, so that people won’t think she’s 100% complicit. She said she felt guilty, she said she’s tired of lying, she wants to tell the truth, and she hates hurting people. Look at her actions since March 29th – she’s stayed in touch with Tom, she sent letters and postcards to the house – knowing Ariana was at home. Right after she said she wanted to tell the truth – she lied.

Her PR said she was in a mental health facility. This is again to paint Raquel the victim. I think they implied that Tom groomed her. Then they said she was getting death threats. Again to garner sympathy. Then they said they contacted the FBI – again to garner sympathy.

She will be back on VPR, if Tom has her as his girlfriend on the show. The mental health diagnosis will be she was overcome with the burden of guilt and shame she felt and she has issues with alcohol. The reason she is still with Tom and why she's back on VPR, because it’s true love.

This reminds me of The Simpsons episode. A Krusty the Clown doll/toy has a switch on his back with two settings, Good and Evil.

So what IS the deal with Jo? I remember when the scandal first broke it was suggested that Tom Schwarz was a pawn , taking one for the team, to distract attention from Rachel and Sandoval. It was said he (Schwarz ) was actually living with or at least a couple with "jo". 

Now I'm barely hearing anything of that.

I recently went through a divorce myself so I appreciated Katie's thoughts. Especially when she said she can't keep waiting for someone to grow up. I haven't always been on Katie's side, but good for her for realizing that she needed that marriage to end. I did too and it was hard but I know it was the best decision.

Yes, Jo was most definitely in the friend group. She was Kristen Doute's BFF. Katie has said that Jo continually reached out to her with supportive texts throughout the divorce, only to then move in (& on) with Schwartz. 

Katie doesn't care who Tom dates. They agreed not to date within the friend group, only for him to do exactly that twice. If this season has shown us anything outside of Scandoval, it's that Schwartz isn't the sweet puppy dog that he's pretended to be for do many years now.
