Boy, apparently the ONE thing you can really count on Joy for is her discretion!  She only told everyone she met today, none of whom she actually knows, about the fact that she may be pregnant.   Yup, I'd trust her with ALL the corporate secrets.

Supposedly, Rolf has improved the serum so that it can be used to only erase memories for a certain time period.  Apparently, it can be fine-tuned to the hour (yes, I'm rolling my eyes at that too.)

I'm just glad it seems like this stupid story line is almost over.

How soon we forget Jada aborting Eric's baby(although I don't get why they made her pregnant for one day before doing that but I digress). This caused issues for Eric/Nicole (although I don't get why this particular problem was necessary between them when there are a 1000 other issues they had that showed what a problematic couple they were but I digress)

Joy immediately telling JJ the stranger that she is ten seconds pregnant is the kind of plotting I hate on this show. I mean....really? 🙄 She just blabs about it?

I guess JJ is going to be important somehow to her secret getting spilled, but come on...make it more subtle than that.

I don't know how I feel about Rita. Mostly she just doesn't seem real at all. More like a knockoff version of Mamacita from Feud: Bette VS Joan.

I can understand Rolfe breaking the law as requested by the various DiMeras because he loves mad science and they enable him to do that.

Future incentives to be paid from the DiMeras.  She has been loyal to the company since Stefano was in charge, So apparently, getting to help out with their illegal actions is just something she is okay with doing.

Plus, they kind of need a Bart-type character in the DiMera mix with Steve Blackwood gone.

I'm gonna cut Joy some slack on sharing her pregnancy with strangers.  She's pretty much alone in Salem (not too many friends) and this is life-changing for her. Sometimes just being able to tell someone like the stripper/dancer who recognized her from B&S helped Joy to acknowledge what she just found out..

As for JJ, he was persistent in finding out what caused her dizziness. Once she found out that he was a cop and former EMT, she realized he only wanted to help.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Rolf's magic serum was only supposed to remove the memory of his being held captive, which it did. I think the grand plan was to switch Rafe/Arnold out in the kitchen, where Rafe would wake up from a "nap" and be none the wiser, but then Jada and Shawn showed up before he fully came to, which messed that up. Then, at the PD, it appears that Rolph screwed up, as he didn't erase back far enough, and Rafe remembered confronting Arnold.

My first thought at Joy's supposed pregnancy was also that this could be the baby for Johnny and Chanel, though I personally wish they would not end up with the progeny of anyone ever on canvas - go through an adoption agency, have a baby unrelated to anyone in Salem, thereby bringing in fresh blood for when the kid is suddenly sorased into a teenager! LOL

Tate has the most annoying, whiney voice. For that reason alone I am not a rapid Holly and Doug shipper.

I do not need Theresa back in town, but it just underlines Brady's awful taste in baby mums. Crazy that Theresa looks like a great choice next to Kristen. And Ava, frankly.

Leo needs to stop hanging out with teenagers and near teenagers. It's creepy.

I would love for that to be the case, but knowing Ron, she's probably going to spend all of her time wailing and crying over Brady and begging for him to take her back, all the while he basically tells her to go screw herself and she needs to leave town for good and never come back. And I'll bet you that she already has another scheme in mind that's more than likely going to land her in yet another stint in prison.

Tate's voice was like nails on a chalkboard for me today. Doug3 is dull but at least he isn't whiney.  Leo needs to find friends his own age he is around the teen set way too much, and whatever Ron thought, he is not an adorable cherub, he is a man pushing 50 who dates younger men and harasses most of the straight ones. Ava and Brady are being presented as some sort of doomed romance but they have barely dated, kissed once or twice, and I've not heard either say they think they are serious. Weird. Highlight for me was Melinda (I love her!) with the necklace. Lowlight: Theresa and her mugging face and stupid wig being back. But it beats Gwen I suppose.

I honestly would rather have Gwen around than Theresa. I still wish that Xander had actually killed her right along with Konstantin; would have spared us all the indignity of her vile presence. I'm actually hoping that the new writers have Theresa permanently killed off sooner or later at some point. Especially if Jen Lilley is never coming back anyway. Brady and Tate would be better off without her in their lives. 

I'm not even that big of a Gwen fan but I'll happily tolerate her if it means that I never have to see Emily O'Brien's version of Theresa ever again.

Eric wanting a kid desperately is a recent phenomenon because for those who have watched Days for a very long time never really saw that with Eric. I mean he became a priest for years at one point and no matter how many characters repeat this it never rang true to me because of that. I would believe Rafe wanted a kid desperately more than Eric.

JJ/Joy finally shared scenes in a classic soap meeting where he tries to save her. 

 

Although I don't get how they don't already know each other given how her father hates his Uncle(who's dating her mother) but I digress.

I'm all for JJ pretending to be the father to this baby and keep it from Alex. 

JJ/Gabi aren't going to last(I just know Stefan will return at some point). If the show cared about the Johnsons this could be good drama for the Jack/Jennifer/Steve/Kayla/Justin side of things with their children involved in this.

I don't think they will do another abortion story after we had that one with Jada. It seems pretty clear that Holly really is pregnant, so I think Joy will pretend that she is to trap someone - anyone to be the father. Or, maybe she will be, but have a miscarriage and then pretend, because that will be something new (NOT).

I don't even like READING about Theresa/Gwen coming back, so I am sorry for those who watch it. 

I really hope that Deidre has taken a Botox break for the upcoming John story. It would be terrible to not let her be able to cry.

So, Melinda bought Julie's necklace off the street???? Or did she arrest the seller as part of a case?

I think it's a bit more than that but it's probably short term. Unless they put her with Alex again.  I rather see EOB as Theresa than Gwen because at least Theresa is a legacy character(who I don't care for but I digress) also her version was a lot less whiny to me and didn't use Tate as a weapon.

They're not going to put Theresa with Alex again; I don't really see Alex wanting anything to do with Theresa ever again and besides at the moment the writers are very determined to make Alex/Stephanie a thing, (I don't know if that's still going to be the case with the new writers but we'll see I guess). Besides, even if Theresa is a legacy character she is so far removed from the canvas and she's appeared so infrequently on the show in the last 6-7 years that she's pretty much irrelevant. She's one of those characters that shouldn't be on long term anyway and she should show up every now and again in very short stints, if that. If not, then she needs to be killed off permanently and just never be mentioned by anybody ever again.

I didn't see the end of the episode until late last night.

Guess we're in for another round of Gwenresa apologizing to all the men in her life and prostrating herself and groveling.

God, the current version of the character is so pathetic. She really does need a rest.

But I definitely want to see Jen L back and 90% of this swept under the rug.

Hopefully this return consists of Gwenresa apologizing to Brady and Tate one time, putting Ms Choi in her place a bit, and doing something to make it up to Maggie. What, I have no idea, but something. I don't want an endless apology tour and especially no focus on BenAlex.

That way, at least, if Jen L can return, it'll be without the baggage of having to tie into all the crap that's been written for her character in her absence.

When she was first introduced as the woman in white she was still in a state of confusion.  She thought Peter was her dead husband and Jennifer his new young bride. She tried to kill Jennifer a couple of times before she got help. 

This is what's definitely missing from this storyline. Marlena should of dropped everything when she heard Rachel was alive. It doesn't help that Peter, Jennifer, John, and Celeste are all off canvas. 

This Rachel might as well be a brand new character.

I'll be very surprised if Theresa actually does apologize to Brady and Tate for what she did; I don't really expect her to have any remorse or regret and I'll bet she'll try to justify her actions no matter what. I hope Brady has nothing but venom for her and so does Maggie. I honestly don't think there is anything Theresa can do to ever make it up to Maggie anyway. It's not like she can take back kidnapping her kid. I won't blame Maggie if she decides to never have anything to do with Theresa ever again. 

I'd like to be proven wrong Monday but honestly I really have no faith in Ron anyway but the one thing I'm glad for is that this return is basically short so I won't have to spend another minute looking at her disgusting, putrid mug and her crappy, cheap blonde wig. And if I thought an endless apology tour might actually accomplish anything, I would be fine with it because Theresa deserves to be a pariah forever shunned and ostracized by virtually the entire town and only having her son and brother barely tolerating her.

Gwenresa makes some decent points about adoption but also needs to cool it with the opinions. She just got out. Maybe ease your way back into conversation...

The only, and I do mean only reason I can think of why Ava acted like such a scaredy cat BEFORE Rachel took out the knife is Ava has PTSD. Ava *thinks* she’s tough (even bringing up her Mafia past again!), but her interaction with Rachel showed how scared she was of an old woman.   🙄
So this time, Ava will press charges against Rachel the Elder, right?  Younger Rachel has no hand in the breaking/entering or attempted murder, so Ava should go full throttle making sure Rachel pays for her crimes this time around.  Barring the legal route, Ava should sic the Mafia on Rachel. 
But of course, this show will allow Rachel to go scot free to terrorize Ava some more.

I thought of this as well, but Ms. Former DA (as Melinda referred to herself) can hide/get rid of the necklace, then no one can prove she’s knowingly in possession of stolen goods.  You think a former DA would do the lawful thing now that she knows the necklace was stolen, but hey - when you willfully instigate (IIRC, she had to coax Sloan into the kidnapping) and conspire in kidnapping, what’s a little theft?   No biggie…

I really, really, really hope Ava will put herself first, like she said to Brady. I don’t think Ava and Brady have had sex yet, so he must think merely dating him is such a ginormous draw that Ava will do what he wants a second time, when her life continues to be in danger! 
Ava was telling all kinds of Truth about Young Rachel not being involved in this attempted murder, so the police should be brought into this. Ava should have gone a step further and told Brady that since Older Rachel keeps claiming her family is everything to her, Old Rachel won’t drag Younger Rachel into the attempted murder, when there’s zero need to even mention Younger Rachel. 
And as I’ve posted before, if justice justice can’t be done, then Ava should resort to Mob Justice.  Soooo stupid to continually mention that aspect of Ava’s past yet not actually make use of it.

Ava has claimed repeatedly that she gave that life up for Tripp.  But yeah, I do think that she should go back on that promise for her own protection if this escalates any further.  Which it absolutely will.

I can't believe this moron is the son of my all time favourite character Isabella. She washed her hands of him even as a ghost years ago when he wouldn't listen to her advice. I pray that Ava does the same. However I am pretty sure who his next love interest is and it is an even more pathetic, selfish choice from this man baby. He needs to grow up, move out of his parents' house, stop dating and be a real parent to his poor children who sorely need guidance. I was sad when Chloe bailed on him but it turned out to be a very smart decision.

I feel so badly for Rafe:  he was so concerned about Arnold having a physical relationship with Jada(like he did with Sami), not realizing that she did have one with Shawn.  Rafe should have asked her WHY she could not tell the difference between him & Arnold!  Meanwhile, Mayor Paulina should have Fired Belle! And it bugs me to see OldRachel wandering around town in her pajamas! At least that is what it looks like to me, like she has a white Bathrobe on!

I did enjoy the scenes at the Kiriakis mansion today...Xander, Philip & Alex...intriguing to see the power plays between the 3 of them. And I like that Xander reminded them that Maggie was still part of the leadership of the company too.  The actor who plays Philip makes the funniest facial expressions!  I will be interested if their plan to take over DiMeara will work or will it blow up in their face?!

Javi inviting Leo to move in with him, without running it by Rafe, who has gone through hell the last few months and is literally just getting his life back, is sickening, and I don't even like Rafe.

I saw where things were going with Joy as soon as Steph started making it all about her at the pub.

Hey, two seconds of Sarah and Xander, lucky me! But I do love Xander and Philip. Could do without Alex joining the group. I do like him finally getting some consequences for sleeping with half the town.

Cat and Chad are just too forced. Nothing is really working for me there.

Ugh!  I can’t believe this show really is gonna have TWO simultaneous unplanned pregnancy stories where the baby daddy is involved with another woman.  To me, it only makes sense IF there’s a potential baby swap story. Say, Sophia loses her baby and steals Joy’s baby as a way to keep Tate in her (Sophia) orbit. 
I felt bad for Joy today. She was under no obligation to put Stephanie/Alex’s happiness and relationship above her unplanned pregnancy situation, but that she did so elevated her in my eyes. She’s such a sad figure on this show - no family, no close friends, no support - just a young woman trying to make it on her own.

All I could think was, PLEASE don't let Jada be pregnant AGAIN.  I don't think a baby swap could work as there are at least a couple of months between the babies.

Tate and Sophia slept together November 1st. Joy and Alex started sleeping together January 1st, that is a big difference in terms of gestation. Unless one of them goes into premature labour (probably by the side of a road)
