The rest of the characters offered are not exactly my favourites Me too. I like Chanel and Johnny, but not enough to sit through the drama of the affair that wasn't. Since I'm completely skipping everything Body and Soul, I don't care about Joy, Alex is still a total miss for me, as is Stephanie and the tic-ridden JPL version of Philip. I really like Jada and I also like Rafe with Jada but double the Rafe is definitely NOT double the pleasure. I'm liking the softer version of Gabi with JJ and I love having JJ back - so far. EJ, loathesome as he may be, I always enjoy and I LOVE having Belle back. I won't mind her taking up with EJ since I think those two have chemistry, which I don't think he has with Sami, at all. Besides, Sami is in the rear view mirror unless AS decides to return permanently. 7 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8545664

Chellfairy January 3 Share January 3 NOT impressed with Joy. I also like Johnny and Chanel, yet not enough to ship this ridiculously asinine “affair” fiasco. I could give no fucks about Holly, the immature, spoiled, narcissistic brat. I like Sophia and is a way better match for Tate. They have more chemistry. Too bad the “pregnancy” story couldn’t be Johnny and Chanel’s! I also give no Fucks about FakePhilip and boring Stephanie. I wish JKJ Philip would come back, hook up with Belle and have a damn brawl with SadShaunD at the Brady Pub ! Can’t have that, sooo EJ and Belle is my vote!l Who in the hell is “Arthur?? Aside from giving Rafey double screen time? 🥱🥱😳 That’s all I got. 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8545770

Random characters thrown together at a party that seemed to begin 5 minutes before midnight. Guys, I know both actors have chemistry with everyone, but I'm really dreading EJ+Belle. Can't EJ's repellent character overpower his looks? Can't Belle's love for Sami keep her from fooling around with her sister's rapist ex-husband? Janel is their portmanteau. This episode seemed like filler and I am not opposed to EJ/Belle personally but we know it's not going anywhere either. BuckeyeLou January 6 Share January 6 I know this is an Unpopular Opinion on this page, but I am getting the biggest kick out of the Rafe & EJ scenes :) It has me laughing with Dan F's facial expressions and then Galen & "FakeRafe" are a hoot. There is not much on the show that I find amusing at the moment, so these scenes are a good break between boring scenes. When EJ picked up the spoon to force feed Rafe and he says "Here comes the airplane" like he's a kid, lol. 8 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8548030
DisneyBoy January 7 Share January 7 I usually get a kick out of the clever lines of dialogue or cutesy delivery of the actors...but dang is 90% of this stuff boring AF. I don't care about Rafe or Fake Rafe. He and Jada should just marry and then appear once a month, as far as I'm concerned. The Secret Room having a "Do Not Enter" sign on it? Yeesh. How silly can we get? It's supposed to be a secret entrance, but now I'm supposed to believe EJ is hanging clubhouse warning signs on it? This "affair" is idiotic. Surely Chanel can believe that Johnny misunderstood what he saw, got insecure, tried to cheat and then stopped himself. That means he really does love you, even if he lost his mind for a few hours there! So be mad, quit Body & Soul, give him dirty looks, but also...get over it! If you don't want your 2nd marriage to also fail, both of you stop being children and just talk it out. This isn't the end of the world. It's barely a hiccup! I don't want to hear about this for the next 5 weeks, thank you very much. Sophia being forced to keep a baby and marry Tate is....stupid times a hundred. I don't even have the words. I hope she gets two abortions, frankly, just to really stick to her mother and these writers, neither of whom have any business throwing in their two cents about this subject matter. I still don't care about Leo, and the more Javi gets shoved at him, the less I care about him too. She SERIOUSLY expected someone she'd only met to think more about her feelings than her own husband? And yes, wouldn't that have been a great introduction -"Hi, I'm Joy. Your husband thought you cheated on him and I came THIS close to having sex with him?" While it might not have been Joy's most rational moment (bearing in mind they both had had a LOT to drink) meeting a man and actually believing him that his marriage is over - he just isn't divorced yet - makes her naive, NOT a bad person. 4 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8548414

ITA on all the Kristen/Rachel stuff. Such shocking growth in Kristen, since I thought she’d encourage her hell spawn to keep up the texts on the downlow. Brady showed waaaay more restraint and patience and respect with Dragon Lady Choi than I would have. She mostly put the blame for the situation on Tate (I would have made it very clear it took two to tango, and “reckless” Tate isn’t solely responsible) and acted like she’s the boss of everyone. Tate still acting dumb ass not telling Holly the abortion didn’t happen. You think he would have learned his lesson when he didn’t tell Holly about the pregnancy. Anyhoo, don’t care who Tate ends up with, but I hope Brady pushes back on Dragon Lady more - and does so every time she acts so domineering. brisbydog January 9 Share January 9 Really good show today actually. I very much enjoy Sophia and Tate. I like that she's not written like a villain. It's a nice change. Doug and Holly could have potential too. He is improving. Brady and Kristen was the best I'd ever seen them. Amazing to see them talk like adults and put their kid first. Love the idea of Titan taking Dimera. A switch up from the revolving CEO stories. The Xander and Philip scenes were interesting too. I like the idea of them evolving as brothers And the ending puts a twist on things. Stephanie and Sarah being introduced as new friends seems like it will be a factor. Amazing how much I like the show when Leo, Rafe and Johnny aren't on. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8550231

DisneyBoy January 10 Share January 10 (edited) If you're talking about the current actor, he really does read as at least 24. It's not the first time an adult has played a teen, but considering he's supposed to be in high school, dealing with an underage pregnancy storyline, it's weird. The first Tate actor was really special. Soft spoken and honest in his delivery, which I liked. You could buy him getting wrapped up in selfish Holly's misadventures. But I'm not sure he would have worked as well with this Sophia, so... The way she has been written is leaving the door open for her to eventually have her Jan moment of "muhahaha Holly, I poked holes in the condom to trap Tate!" or even "muhahaha Tate, I lied about being pregnant to get my mother upset so she'd force you to marry me!" or whatever bull. There's also the classic "someone else got me pregnant because I sleep around because I've eeeeviiiiilllll like that!" I passionately hope they do not go down any of those roads. But this is Ron, so...I'm expecting them to, and seeing the current actress' attempts to walk the fine line between smug satisfaction and genuine innocence as her making a choice without knowing which way the scripts will go. It's the only thing saving her character right now. Seriously, every time she accidentally surprises Holly with bad news, you can imagine a young AS as Sami saying those same lines with smugness, just happy to rub bad news in her rival's face. The subtlety here is purely coming from this actress. Rodney January 10 Share January 10 Marlena won points from me for not judging Cat at all and actually understanding her position, and that of which Clyde is capable. Unlike Julie, who's still being a bitch about it. At least Chad's finally let up on her. So the true story about Konstantin was that John faked Catharina's death to help her get away from him, along with Catharina's mother, Elizabeth. So what John did was pretend to hurt Catharina all that time ago, when he was really helping her escape. Shame that Drake couldn't have been there to play out hearing that story. Oh. *sniffles* So now the forged letter is out. And Philip is quite rightfully in the doghouse with Stephanie. Sarah was right about one thing. Kristen's level of law-breaking is the lowest bar ever. And the fact that Xander wanted to meet it . . . Doug III opens up to Holly about the necklace that he stole, but he can't come clean because of Julie's feelings of attachment to him. He really does need to tell her the truth. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8551239
brisbydog January 10 Share January 10 Did Philip really leave a recorded voice mail stating the letter is a forgery? What an idiot. Philip is acting so entitled. Victor set up a lifetime trust for Philip's medical needs. He didn't trust him with Titan after his last run there. He did trust Xander to run it exactly how he would have. Xander bribing a few people is low on the crime scale. Not too worried about that one. Very interested in Steph and Sarah. And I actually love her chemistry with Philip. Way better than Alex. So Aaron is staying in Vancouver? Convenient... Victor being close enough with Elizabeth Meleonous for her to ring him up for help makes me certain he's Catharina's father. With Aaron and Mark off the grid that's only two new Victor potential grandchildren in town. Maggie would love Felicity 5 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8551246

brisbydog January 11 Share January 11 (edited) John would have no memory of this mission as he was the Pawn at the time. Last year he and Steve found out that Elizabeth had vanished right after Catharina's "death" and assumed Konstantin had killed her. This all works given what we were previously told. Putting Cat into Marlena’s orbit makes me think that she will be John's daughter (the other 3 Greenes will be the children of Catharina's husband). Catharina was 16 at the time of the faked death but then moved to America. It's not much of a leap to think Victor sent John to check on Elizabeth and Catharina after they settled in the States and once she was over 18. Again, John would have no memory of this. His memories start in our 1986 once he escaped Victor. Victor's part only makes sense though if when Elizabeth contacted him for help she told him he was Catharina's biological father. Otherwise what is his motivation? That would make Cat doubly related to Brady and his kids and her and the rest of the Greenes Kiriakis grandchildren. DisneyBoy January 11 Share January 11 (edited) I honestly hope they don't go that way. I'm still not entirely comfortable with the wacky explanation for how Paul was conceived. I like the actor well enough, and he fills out the cast in valuable ways, but it makes no sense that he is John's son. It does John no favors to extend his family tree further at this point, especially in light of the fact they knew Drake was seriously ill well before this was filmed. They should have rewritten this. I didn't like them contorting Vivian's history to accommodate twin sons Stefan and Jake, who were duds, and now they're possibly doing it again to John? For the sake of introducing another new, possibly lame character? No thanks. Honestly, just develop the ones you already have please. There are so many neglected characters on this show. If Cat is sticking around, let it be because she's compelling on her own terms. Not because a weak affiliation to John is propping her up. She never needed to be retconned into an already established family to have a place on this show. She created one and ended up bringing in her own family members along with her at some point. That's the only one that stands out on this show that I can think of in the last 30 years anyways. There might have been others but they don't come to mind at the moment. 5 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8552358

This way they have reason(s) to interact with the entire cast. BTW, I have no problem with Cat being John's daughter. This will add to Marlena's storyline, giving her someone (or something) to be concerned about. And Belle could use a 'sister' that doesn't scream drama 24/7. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8552492

Although they connected her to Abe thru Fay and Brandon which was a great way to connect her to somebody without being related. Please stop giving these elderly characters more children. Kat is a dynamic new character that doesn't need to be related to anyone besides her immediate family. The cast is way to incestuous as it is. 5 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8553382
brisbydog January 13 Share January 13 Good show today to start the week Maggie and Xander were wonderful and it makes sense he'd try to make things work for her sake Steph talking about her failed relationships was all we've been saying. And I loved she told Sarah the truth Philip's pleas to Sarah hit the right notes. He and Xander share so much of the same trauma inflicted by Victor. But if she keeps the secret what happens to her marriage when Xander finds out? Sarah needs Philip to keep Xander from breaking the law at work and he will do her bidding now. And because she wants Xander to bond with his brother and have a family Sarah loves two Xanders. The one who is a perfect husband and father and the bad boy she fell for. She needs somebody to keep him honest at work when she can't monitor what he's doing. She knows him so well and doesn't want him to do something stupid. Remember their wedding vows. He said he would likely mess up repeatedly and she promised not to bail if he did. She is finding a creative solution here, much like she did with the Brady situation. It is going to be an interesting twist with her lying to him for once. Pub scenes were a bit dull until the end. What does Steve know? Cat and Chad felt disjointed. I don't hate them but they were not needed today 1 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/137/#findComment-8553680
