It's Janel lol

EJ and Belle were the only thing keeping me watching this week. The rest of the characters offered are not exactly my favourites

Me too.  I like Chanel and Johnny, but not enough to sit through the drama of the affair that wasn't.  Since I'm completely skipping everything Body and Soul, I don't care about Joy, Alex is still a total miss for me, as is Stephanie and the tic-ridden JPL version of Philip.  I really like Jada and I also like Rafe with Jada but double the Rafe is definitely NOT double the pleasure.

I'm liking the softer version of Gabi with JJ and I love having JJ back - so far.

EJ, loathesome as he may be, I always enjoy and I LOVE having Belle back.  I won't mind her taking up with EJ since I think those two have chemistry, which I don't think he has with Sami, at all.  Besides, Sami is in the rear view mirror unless AS decides to return permanently.

NOT impressed with Joy.
I also like Johnny and Chanel, yet not enough to ship  this ridiculously asinine “affair”  fiasco.

I could give no fucks about Holly, the immature, spoiled, narcissistic brat. I like Sophia and is a way better match for Tate. They have more chemistry. Too bad the “pregnancy” story couldn’t be Johnny and Chanel’s!

I also give no Fucks about FakePhilip and boring Stephanie. I wish JKJ Philip would come back, hook up with Belle and have a damn brawl with SadShaunD at the Brady Pub !   Can’t have that, sooo EJ and Belle is my vote!l

Who in the hell is “Arthur?? Aside from giving Rafey double screen time? 🥱🥱😳

That’s all I got.

Yep. He said that “Rafe” had an assignment with Black Patch and will be out of town for awhile. Arnold reluctantly agreed to it.

I assumed Arnold agreed to the "lie/ stay away from Jada" cover story. Not that he was actually going to leave town. I assume he will still be sneaking around trying not to be seen by anyone.

Yikes, this storyline is bad. Poor us Chajohnny fans. Jonnel?

Well that was a weird NYE. Random characters thrown together at a party that seemed to begin 5 minutes before midnight.

Guys, I know both actors have chemistry with everyone, but I'm really dreading EJ+Belle. Can't EJ's repellent character overpower his looks? Can't Belle's love for Sami keep her from fooling around with her sister's rapist ex-husband?

Janel  is their portmanteau.

This episode seemed like filler and I am not opposed to EJ/Belle personally but we know it's not going anywhere either.

Same with JJ/Gabi

Twenty-three.  And she was on the canvas at the time, so no question that she knew about it.

It also was the same night when EJ shot John. While I know Belle could be a disloyal shrew to Sami, I didn't think she would disloyal to her beloved father.

I know this is an Unpopular Opinion on this page, but I am getting the biggest kick out of the Rafe & EJ scenes :)  It has me laughing with Dan F's facial expressions and then Galen & "FakeRafe" are a hoot.  There is not much on the show that I find amusing at the moment, so these scenes are a good break between boring scenes.  When EJ picked up the spoon to force feed Rafe and he says "Here comes the airplane" like he's a kid, lol.

I usually get a kick out of the clever lines of dialogue or cutesy delivery of the actors...but dang is 90% of this stuff boring AF.

I don't care about Rafe or Fake Rafe. He and Jada should just marry and then appear once a month, as far as I'm concerned.

The Secret Room having a "Do Not Enter" sign on it? Yeesh. How silly can we get? It's supposed to be a secret entrance, but now I'm supposed to believe EJ is hanging clubhouse warning signs on it?

This "affair" is idiotic. Surely Chanel can believe that Johnny misunderstood what he saw, got insecure, tried to cheat and then stopped himself. That means he really does love you, even if he lost his mind for a few hours there! So be mad, quit Body & Soul, give him dirty looks, but also...get over it! If you don't want your 2nd marriage to also fail, both of you stop being children and just talk it out. This isn't the end of the world. It's barely a hiccup! I don't want to hear about this for the next 5 weeks, thank you very much.

Sophia being forced to keep a baby and marry Tate is....stupid times a hundred. I don't even have the words. I hope she gets two abortions, frankly, just to really stick to her mother and these writers, neither of whom have any business throwing in their two cents about this subject matter.

I still don't care about Leo, and the more Javi gets shoved at him, the less I care about him too.

Yay for having Belle and JJ back but otherwise....there's nothing worth watching really.

...did anyone else find it strange when Marlena said "have you met me?" to Belle when she asked if her mother watched the ball drop at midnight? Like it was something she'd never do? Cuz the way I remember it, didn't Marlena and John and Belle cuddle up on the couch to watch the ball drop at midnight like...two New Years Eves ago?

Chanel needs to sit down and shut up. I can’t believe she told Joy she was a bad person. This from a woman who slept with a married father of two and married another man (Xander) to get his money.

To be fair, she did admit that she'd done some shady things, too.  It was those quieter moments when I thought that she'd forgive Joy.

Joy really should've just said that she'd have told Chanel the truth from the start if she could do the whole thing over again.  That alone usually goes a long way with getting someone to forgive you.

She admitted that she had done some shady things in the past, but later said Joy was a “bad person”. So I guess that makes Chanel one too? Only I don’t think Chanel sees herself that way.

I can't believe, when Chanel told Joy that SHE destroyed Chanel and Johnny's marriage that Joy didn't fight back and let her know that, no, their marriage was damaged before she even met Johnny and the only one destroying it was THEM.   She SERIOUSLY expected someone she'd only met to think more about her feelings than her own husband?  And yes, wouldn't that have been a great introduction -"Hi, I'm Joy.  Your husband thought you cheated on him and I came THIS close to having sex with him?"  While it might not have been Joy's most rational moment (bearing in mind they both had had a LOT to drink) meeting a man and actually believing him that his marriage is over - he just isn't divorced yet - makes her naive, NOT a bad person.

I get a kick out of fake Rafe...at least he has a personality!  So, you're not alone, BuckeyeLou!

LOL! But that's what breaks up any monotony. I love when they poke fun at themselves, says an old fan of Fernwood Tonight and Mary Hartman.

100% agree!  Chanel needs to chill out or get cat fished to occupy her time.

I know I shouldn't answer a question with a question, but have you met the writers of Days? Maybe they're trying to give Dee some of Hattie's personality.

I have watched every second of this show* since I became a viewer back in 2009 (started watching for Lindsay Hartley- I was a huge Passions fan). But please remind me which married father of two Chanel slept with?

I liked the recasting joke about the two Babes. I remember that All My Children scene (when one actress went in for a hug with her mom, and when the hug broke apart, it was a different actress), and I liked it!

Chanel had an affair with her professor before showing up in Salem. Said professor was Sloan's father, and Sloan's brother, Colin, came to Salem to punish Chanel for his death or their mother's death. I can't remember which parent died after the affair became known.

ASpring1900, I love your avatar. Bluebirds return to our place every spring and they are a joy to watch.

Their mother.  She confronted Chanel on the roof of a building after luring her there under the pretense of being her husband.  They got into a struggle, and she ended up falling off, to her death.  Chanel was arrested at first and not able to give her side of the story, so Paulina had to pay off the university to cover up what happened.

As for Sloan and Colin's father, he was so heartbroken and guilt-ridden over their mother's death, he drank himself to death.

Thanks. I couldn't remember the fallout of that ridiculous storyline.

Chanel didn't really think that she could essentially screw her stepfather over just because she's mad at her husband, did she?

A mention of the infamous Babe mid-episode recast from AMC.

So Leo and Javi reconcile . . . just as hot Kerry returns to town.  But what an odd last name for him.  Youmans?

Oh, boy.  The moment that Chad and Stephanie realized that the fake Lady Whistleblower has ties to Rochester, and it cut to Javi and Kerry's final scene, I started getting the feeling that Kerry would be the culprit.  And indeed, it was revealed that Kerry was visiting family in Rochester.

Which now has me wondering why Kerry would do this?

And didn't Leo only say he was tired of hookups and not over his ex yet..? I'd think Kerry would move on from that quickly...

Yes, Leo told Kerry all of that at the time.  Honestly, one of Leo's more honest moments on the show.  So it's a bit ridiculous if Kerry is doing this over that.

So Kristen has figured out that Rachel is behind the texts to Ava.  And oddly, I kind of liked her putting Rachel in her place.  It's like she's slowly starting to realize that Rachel is becoming too much like her, much to even her own horror.

That said, I'm shocked that she told Brady that it was Rachel.  I thought that she was going to protect her by lying for her.

Brady did a good job at fending off Amy for now, but she's going to keep at it, no doubt.

Tate really should've told Holly before Sophia did.  Now she's pushed her closer to Doug III.

ITA on all the Kristen/Rachel stuff.  Such shocking growth in Kristen, since I thought she’d encourage her hell spawn to keep up the texts on the downlow.

Brady showed waaaay more restraint and patience and respect with Dragon Lady Choi than I would have. She mostly put the blame for the situation on Tate (I would have made it very clear it took two to tango, and “reckless” Tate isn’t solely responsible) and acted like she’s the boss of everyone.
Tate still acting dumb ass not telling Holly the abortion didn’t happen. You think he would have learned his lesson when he didn’t tell Holly about the pregnancy. Anyhoo, don’t care who Tate ends up with, but I hope Brady pushes back on Dragon Lady more - and does so every time she acts so domineering.

Really good show today actually. I very much enjoy Sophia and Tate. I like that she's not written like a villain. It's a nice change. Doug and Holly could have potential too. He is improving.

Brady and Kristen was the best I'd ever seen them. Amazing to see them talk like adults and put their kid first.

Love the idea of Titan taking Dimera. A switch up from the revolving CEO stories. The Xander and Philip scenes were interesting too. I like the idea of them evolving as brothers

And the ending puts a twist on things. Stephanie and Sarah being introduced as new friends seems like it will be a factor.

Amazing how much I like the show when Leo, Rafe and Johnny aren't on.

If you're talking about the current actor, he really does read as at least 24. It's not the first time an adult has played a teen, but considering he's supposed to be in high school, dealing with an underage pregnancy storyline, it's weird.

The first Tate actor was really special. Soft spoken and honest in his delivery, which I liked. You could buy him getting wrapped up in selfish Holly's misadventures.

But I'm not sure he would have worked as well with this Sophia, so...

The way she has been written is leaving the door open for her to eventually have her Jan moment of "muhahaha Holly, I poked holes in the condom to trap Tate!" or even "muhahaha Tate, I lied about being pregnant to get my mother upset so she'd force you to marry me!" or whatever bull. There's also the classic "someone else got me pregnant because I sleep around because I've eeeeviiiiilllll like that!"

I passionately hope they do not go down any of those roads. But this is Ron, so...I'm expecting them to, and seeing the current actress' attempts to walk the fine line between smug satisfaction and genuine innocence as her making a choice without knowing which way the scripts will go. It's the only thing saving her character right now.

Seriously, every time she accidentally surprises Holly with bad news, you can imagine a young AS as Sami saying those same lines with smugness, just happy to rub bad news in her rival's face.

The subtlety here is purely coming from this actress.
