Definitely her story was better unfortunately little did we know her love for Body and Soul would infect the rest of the show. Connie is a waste of airtime and has no connections to anyone. At least Whitley didn't overstay her welcome. She was a short term villain the way it's supposed to be. 2 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8460383

boes September 19 Share September 19 Well...... I liked the stuffed cats from the Whitely storyline, and I liked cardboard Li from the Connie storyline, pretty much equally. If Show insists on this sorta thing, then I could also go for a cardboard Rafe, a stuffed Paulina and maybe a roomba refashioned to sound like Abe's chuckle. No reason Ron C. couldn't build a storyline around those. 9 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8460417

brisbydog September 20 Share September 20 Stefan redeemed himself somewhat today with his Li trash talking. I liked the bit about how he and Gabi used to just laugh and laugh behind his back about what a loser he was. Melinda glad the Connie is no Oppenheimer lol. She has been my favourite throughout this. Guess we get one more Connie day Monday? Then can this plot be killed forever? Like poor Li. Chad is such an easy mark for this grift. Ouch. Wonder if Mom Greene is Catharina. That would explain the John connection. Gabi and Ava both owing their lives to the bros Dimera was an intersting counterpoint. Frankly I prefer Stefan with Ava. EJ and Gabi definitely have possibilities. JUST RUN THE TEST YOURSELF KAYLA. What is the issue? Just do a private redo on your own. Connie managed to get from the house to Ava's place in less than 2 minutes. oceanblue September 21 Share September 21 while I liked Whitley I hatted the plot. Too much Paulina. too much body and soul. and it led to the current dreck. I've got to say I was actually interested in the wrap up of the connie storyline even though I tired of connie herself. Jada's face when she saw "lee" was gold. and it didn't drag. 2 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8461642

methodwriter85 September 21 Share September 21 Given how bad GH has gotten (even my dedicated 77-year old mom barely seems to care anymore), this has actually been pretty good in comparison. I'm going to be positive- I also like that Kristen is doing normal mom things. I also like that Mark Green seems far less stiff than he was during his first few scenes, and I like that he's serving an actual purpose to the plot than to just be a cute doctor. I like that this plot with Mark and "Fabigail" ties into Clyde, and I'm glad that they got a good actress with ALM to pull this sort of thing off. I also kind of got a kick in seeing Melinda Trask get to play the damsel in distress for once. I don't think either iteration of her has gotten to play that beat before. 3 hours ago, SouthernChick said: I say let’s go full steam ahead with Gabi and EJ. The build up has been really good. Gabi feeling grateful towards EJ is a great move for this, if we're going there. EJ wanting to feel that hero worship for a bit? Yeah, I think this was a good move. Frankly though, I also think that Stefan has better chemistry with Ava so if they're also laying the seeds for that, I'm in. I will say that I really think Tamera Braun is good at selling at pairings and it's why she's had a nearly 25-year soap career. 6 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8461761

boes September 25 Share September 25 I didn't watch any of it, thanks to knowing what was coming. I don't know what Ron C. is trying to accomplish here. It doesn't showcase any apparent affection he has for the soap genre, pretty much the opposite. Odd, considering that writing for soaps has been his bread and butter. Why he would think soap fans would enjoy being portrayed as ignoramuses, content to being amused by utter garbage storylines and characters, and soaps as one dimensional and hackneyed shows is beyond insulting, IMO. If this is what he really thinks of soaps, then somebody needs to dump a bucket of water on his head while he's being carried off by flying monkeys. 4 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8464843
DisneyBoy September 25 Share September 25 (edited) Hey, look at that, the decent storylines are back! Sarah's frustrated reaction to Xander is so earned, and I love that. She's been bizarrely upbeat and chill about this for weeks, and seeing Xander bubble and fume and promise vengeance and get to be mad isn't fair...even though we all get why he's mad. I still hate the way they're writing Fiona. I mean at this point, why keep her around? Everything has obviously gone wrong. Better to leave now that she's made a "good" impression than hang around. She could go back to wherever she came from and it would probably be the best ending to this for her. Brady calling Eric's tone Pollyanna-ish was GOLDEN. 😄😄😄 How many years have we waited for that? Holly and EJ suddenly being kindred spirits to this extent is a bit weird, even with her processing the revelations about Eric and Dan. Plot-motivated writing really does a number on new characters we're still trying to get a handle on. She takes drugs and ends up in a coma...but now hates addicts who have been super supportive of her as she's made mistakes? She rooted consistently for Eric to end up with her Mom while she was with EJ, but now feels like EJ is a great guy, mostly, in spite of lying and scheming to keep her and her mother under his roof? Oooookay. Good chat with Eric and Brady. How old is Fiona supposed to be? Seeing her with Maggie makes me think she's got the mannerisms of someone much younger when the ladies are probably within 10 years of each other. Why would Olivia be making deliveries? Which I personally do not find that farfetched because many parents have done something similar IRL. Though this is predicated upon the audience believing Holly has been living in Salem and attending school there for years. Eric returned to Salem to give Brady some moral support after "his" car accident that injured Sarah. Rodney September 26 Share September 26 (edited) I actually quite liked the Sophia/Fiona scenes. Good way to integrate both more into the canvas, and it was a good way to get to know Sophia a bit more. Only now does Holly start seeing this situation from Tate's point of view. Only now does she realize how much she's fucking up with him. Sarah, please just cut your losses. Having a wife and daughter doesn't automatically make somebody a better person. Xander's latest scheme is proof of that. He hasn't shed one evil quality of his. He just pushed them all down for you. And your mom. You two will look like chumps if you keep taking him back every time that he does this. DisneyBoy September 27 Share September 27 (edited) 9 hours ago, Ohiopirate02 said: Though this is predicated upon the audience believing Holly has been living in Salem and attending school there for years. Right, well said. The issue with that is that Holly was SORASed after being absent from our screens for a long period of time, so we have no sense of how connected to her school chums she actually is. We never even saw her as a little kid going to school, the way we once did with Ciara and Theo. We can assume she was consistently educated in Salem and had friends, but Holly didnt even appear during Nicole's (awful) marriage to Rafe, for instance. They didn't invest in a child actress for her or establish firm character traits, the way they have with Rachel. It kinda is believable that she would stay behind, but like everything else on this show, could have been done far better. 9 hours ago, Ohiopirate02 said: Eric returned to Salem to give Brady some moral support after "his" car accident that injured Sarah. It sucks because Eric is once again immediately abandoning Nicole with a newborn to go help someone on another continent - for real, man? - but this IS his brother, whom Nicole loves and it IS because Eric has unique experience in this department, so it kinda works. Plus Nicole coming back could see EJ doing bad things to her for walking out on him. So it all kinda makes sense. DisneyBoy September 27 Share September 27 I have to say I really got into the drama of today's episode. Was it stupid for Xander to tell Sarah exactly what kind of crazy, illegal revenge shit he was about to pull and expect her to not try and stop him? YES. Was it satisfying to see Sarah call Jada to stop him? YES. ...will that probably reveal into Jada saying "Sarah told me you were needed at home and to get there fast because only you know where her meds are" instead of "Sarah told me you've drugged Brady and are attempting to murder him right now"? Probably YES too. But overall it feels like the plots are moving forward in interesting ways. Sarah's dialogue was great and so was LG's performance. Like...what does a girl have to say to get her husband to not go killing someone "for her"??? She was pleading with him...and he still went! *shakes head* I definitely don't want Xarah breaking up again but...dude legitimately needs to get a grip. For real. Xander is one of the town's worst offenders and now he's going after the guy who needed another person's heart to survive his last attack on him?! Anyway, I enjoyed the twists and turns with Holly and Tate and them both getting to speak honestly. Eric nearly taking a swing at EJ was also good. I hope before this return visit ends that EJ and Eric get some closure because so far, the bad guy is winning. 10 hours ago, Rodney said: I actually quite liked the Sophia/Fiona scenes. Good way to integrate both more into the canvas, and it was good way to get to know Sophia a bit more. Yeah, both actresses are good when they aren't being given exaggerated material to work with. This felt fun and organic. Obviously, they're both "bad girls" but whatever...I saw it more as each gal needing a friend for a few minutes and turning to each other. Sophia is a rather good actress. It's funny - now that someone has compared Holly to Ciara, looks-wise, I feel like if you combine Holly and Sophia, you've got Ciara, from the looks to the temperament! 6 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8466431

brisbydog September 27 Share September 27 Well, this has been a rough week to be a Xander and Sarah fan, but I will say the clown story was far worse for me. I loathed every minute of it, from the idiocy of the kidnapping to the gas-lighting of Sarah to the inclusion of vile Gwen, so this one is an upgrade for me. Obviously not thrilled that Xander went right from maiming to murder, but that is clearly exactly what Victor would have done, and they are, as Xander said, cut from the same cloth. I actually love the Sarah part in this. I have always thought that for them to survive as a couple he had to become less dark and she had to become less light. By being able to lie for him, she has taken that step to saving him from his worse impulses, much like Maggie did for Victor. I'm not saying this is a good thing, clearly it is not, but it makes Sarah far more interesting as a character. I also really like how honest Xander is being with her throughout this. He is not hiding his true self, and she is not running from it. That is a massive shift in their dynamic. The truth will obviously come out, Eric is already suspicious of what Xander was up to, and John will take that a step further once he learns of Brady's arrest. I think the far more interesting part of this story will be when Xander finds out that it was Fiona. What will he do then? She is literally everything he warned Sarah that she would be, but he has the fantasy version of her in front of him now. In Fiona's defence, I think she does feel awful guilt and she is trying to make up for it by being useful to them, but if she had just called for help on the night this mess would never have happened. Half of Xander's rage is about Sarah being left in the street to die, not the accident itself. And when Sarah learns or remembers it is Fiona, how does she feel, knowing she insisted on bringing Fiona back into Xander's life despite his misgivings? For all the wealth and power her introduction brought to him, he was far happier poor and living in their tiny apartment. If Sarah had not pushed him to find his mother, they would have got married at the double wedding and the accident would never have happened, and Theresa would be enjoying spending Alex's millions. It is a complicated story, and messy for all involved. I know Sarah will apologize to Brady when this is all over, I hope Xander does as well. All three of them are convinced of his guilt and are operating on this misinformation. I am really enjoying the complexity of it though, and I doubt Ron wrote it. As for the Ron stuff, Stephanie and Alex were a snore as usual and Johnny was being an idiot (but he does have the right to question a sex scene on day one as it is crap writing) and Chanel has every right to be annoyed at him, but I don't really care. Jada is smart, but for all she knows Xander was just there to confront Brady again and found him drunk. He was not attacking Brady when she came in, and I doubt they will test Brady's blood for alcohol. She doesn't know Xander's murderous tendencies, or his intentions on this night. She was doing her job and as usual she was good at it. I will hate when Rafe is back. 2 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8466673

I'm not saying this is a good thing, clearly it is not, but it makes Sarah far more interesting as a character. See, yeah, but also....no. Sarah's already interesting enough for falling for an attempted murderer. Her supposed values don't need to be further trashed, AFAIC. I really thought she'd make up some reasonable excuse to tell Jada to bring Xander home, but no....she throws Brady under the bus, knowing it isn't him...and then acts like the position Xander forced her into is not really an issue cause, well, that's just who my husband is! ....come again?! I was seriously weirded out by her telling Xander afterwards how she's not going to call the cops on him for real because he's her hubby. 👀 Sarah...any time your husband tells you he's going to go try and murder someone, you are, by law, obligated to prevent it by calling the police! I don't want to hear you using your newborn as an excuse to allow your husband to get away with murder! No more of this "I have to go along with your crimes or I'm hurting our daughter!" stuff. What's the matter with you? Sigh. The more I learn about Victor's misdeeds and crimes the less I admire or understand how Maggie could love him. I have no desire to see Sarah become the type of woman who handwaves her husband's crimes out of loyalty. This is certainly better than the clown story - no question - but Sarah needs to not be accepting this kind of reaction from her husband. He's volatile as hell. And it isn't romantic. I hate the implication that his desire to hurt Brady is somehow the ultimate proof of his love for Sarah. 😒 Is this show being written in the 50s? On the other hand, I don't want Xander neutered either cuz he's been great as a grey character all these years...so I really don't know what the solution here is. But if they continue to have him threaten people every year with Sarah rationalizing her continued loyalty to him...I'm going to be mad. 4 hours ago, brisbydog said: It is a complicated story, and messy for all involved. This is one of the better plots of the year, even with my objections, and it definitely feels miles better than Ron's vanity project, BS. 4 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8466886

He hired a guy to drug Brady so he could stage a suicide. Sarah stopped it by calling the police and lying that she remembered Brady at the wheel, so he was re arrested before Xander could put the gun in his hand 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8467531
JustMargie95 September 28 Share September 28 I'm so confused. Didn't Sarah say "I know who it was" during her hypnosis session with Marlena? Are we supposed to forget that? Or was it addressed later and I just missed it? 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8467565
DisneyBoy September 28 Share September 28 We suspect she's aware that it was Fiona and is keeping it to herself for now. If that is the case, she's doubly wrong for throwing Brady under the bus to both protect murderous Xander and protect his mother for his sake. I hope Brady gives her the cold shoulder big time after this all comes out. 3 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/133488-current-plots-discussion-ii-discussing-todays-episode-and-current-storylines/page/123/#findComment-8467653
