I was already suspicious of him for leaving his young, motherless son to go on the Bachelorette. That definitely wasn't in the best interest of the child. IMO, Michael is a famewhore just like everyone else who repeatedly participates in this franchise, and him using the death of his wife and single parenthood as a sob story is distasteful.

I think it is only a 21 or 28 days, but totally agree with the point you are making.  I guess it must have been made clear he wasn’t 8n the running to become the Bachelor, so he took wha5 was available.

Brittany was on Matt's season; she was one of the five women who joined late. A few of the mean girls on that season started a rumor that Brittany worked as an escort.

There have been multiple Victorias, but I believe this one is from Pilot Pete's season. She has allegedly slept with four of her friends' husbands and ruined their marriages. She's also dated Chase Rice, who is supposed to be famous.

Serene was on Clayton's season. She's a teacher and got a great edit. It also turned out on her hometown date that her brother is very attractive.

Kate and Danielle though, I'm drawing blanks.

BiP loves to bring back people who didn't get along on their original Bachelor/ette seasons. They're putting Shanae and Genevieve on the same season; in the past they've had Nick and Josh, Evan and Chad, Aaron and whatshisface, etc., on the same seasons.

Putting rivals/whatever on is one thing.  But they didn't bring back Queen Victoria so she could renew her feud with anyone. And Shanae and Genevieve didn't get along, but that just gives Genevieve something in common with everyone else on the season. (I would buy it if they packaged Shanae and Elizabeth, but Genevieve was just the last of a whole string of feuds for Shanae.)

They brought Anna back after calling Brittany an escort, but didn't bring Brittany back (though she's coming this time, but no Anna).  They're bringing Hayden back, but he didn't really have a feud with the other guys, he just called the leads bitches.

I don't think this has anything to do with putting people back together. Maybe it did when Evan and Chad were there, but those days must have also left when Elan did.

I'm not interested in rewarding Shanae for mocking people with ADHD.

ETA: At least we seem to be free of Demi this time.

It's BIP.  That's the kind of bullshit it is.

But it also explains why they haven't been having women come to the beach outside of Salley who they arranged to have driven off by the ritual ostracism.  They have been building up the anxiety of their being all of these men who won't survive and given the women a sense of power and now they will pull the rug out from under them.  Let the anxiety and crises begin!

Okay, I’ll be the first to say it… Good! Many of these women (see Genevieve most of all) are just flat-out terrible but they’ve strong-armed the guys into being their “fiancés” because there are no other options for them to stay on the island. I wonder whether that’s why they purposely filled the first round with people we are hating on so we can experience the schadenfreude when they are inevitably dumped for sweet women. (There are exceptions here, of course! We will root for Brandon and Serene to stay together, etc.) But for the most part, they can dump off about 90% of the current cast, and it will be almost as epic as the old Bachelor Pad when the nice guy voted to keep the money from the queen bee mean girl (I have no doubt one of you will remember names).

According to Reality Steve they are going to pull this Casa Amor-type of stunt with both the men and the women. I think they will be making the ladies leave and go to a hotel where they will meet 5 new men to tempt them away from their current choices.
And the men will stay behind at Crab Beach where 5 new women will arrive for the guys to potentially hook up with.
I'm sure this will all send Genevieve and Jill into extreme meltdown mode.😱

Steve doesn't know how long the switch goes on for but I think it only lasted for one day on the series that did something similar.
When the OG girls return to Crab Beach, the new guys join them and everyone stays including the new girls until the next rose ceremony.

I just went to Steve's spoilers to reread them and he does imply that the new men go back with the girls but it's not really clear. I was mostly wondering if we get more time with Hot Adam!

I think what you wrote @JenE4 may be what will happen....

Although Steve gave us the rose ceremony results from the first and second ceremonies, he does not know exactly what happened at the 3rd one and only has some pieces of info. Here is what he said...

Quotes from his site:

Then at the 3rd rose ceremony (which happened Sunday and I don’t have the results yet from), assuming it’s a guy’s rose ceremony, they are making them choose between who they were coupled up with originally, or will they jump to someone new. -Rodney dumped Lace for Eliza.

I did some sleuthing and found a shot of Hot Adam kissing Brittany in this breakdown of previews which might indicate the new men have more extensive time yet to go:

This video goes over a lot of what we have seen already but it's a great recap and also lays out some additional parts that have not been seen including the Brittany and Adam bit which can be found at the 9:48 mark.

Yes! Reality Steve reported this morning that Victoria and Johnny broke up. I'm kind of surprised since Johnny seemed serious enough that he stuck with her and remained true during the Casa Amore switch. And I expected Victoria to behave on BiP more like Shanae did and yet she did not. Instead she was lowkey and stuck with one person for the most part.

So, the season hasn’t finished airing and only Michael and Danielle and Brandon and Serene are still together, and the show hasn’t even finished airing… not a successful season.  There are still 2 engaged couples (3 if you count Becca and Thomas who got back together after the show and one more couple, who also reunited after the show, still dating from the previous season still together.

Honest question: do you really think that the producers think of success as having couples stay together on this show?  They go out of their way to make it difficult.  And back when it was fun there was little expectation.  I take all of the official comments about love as basically being said with implicit eyerolls.

I think a good part of the audience thinks that this is a marker of success.   YMMV

People blame Elan Gale's departure for the drop in quality, but I think it can also be blamed on Instagram's arrival.

Weren't Johnny and Victoria engaged at the end of this season.. have they already broken up? I'd be much more surprised if they actually stayed together for a few months.
