I have zero desire to watch.  I will be on a pontoon boat, tipping my toes in the hopefully warm water.  Have a safe weekend and thank you to those who have served and are no longer with us.  Thank you.

I think this must be a staged thing for a story line because every Muslim man or woman I've ever met has said that children are a gift from God and ergo I am crazy to not any have children.

Well I live in Minnesota so it could snow, lol.  (It did snow in mid May in 2013.  The darn weather pattern would not move into Wisconsin!)

No, sounds like she was very sheltered and taken care of as a child and teen.

In tonight's preview:

Yve and Mohamed: Yve, you should have looked at yourself in a full-length mirror to see the thong showing through your dress. Simple change of underwear - if that is what you wanted. Of course, her outfit did not please Mohamed. Yeah, say he can see her thong and ask if she wanted to go out like that. It can be a bit tacky. But no, hey, let's ensure you wear a different coat to hide your clingy dress. If there is a reason to do so, my spouse or significant other can mention my sartorial error, but that's it. Not tell me how to dress. He wasn't happy with her girlfriends either and at first, called them weird. He didn't like the low-cut dresses/tops that showed too much cleavage. That is how many women dress now. Suck it up, Mo. You have zero business telling Yve's friends how to dress. Did you and Yve discuss if she was expected to convert to the Muslim faith and lifestyle? Things did not go particularly well for him, I don't think Yve's friends really warmed to him, and then in the talking head, he called them stupid. Way to go, Mo! You may be getting a free flight back to Egypt.

Emily and Kobe: Well, it's the morning after and the Poseidon ship didn't exactly sink. Emily is explaining what Koban's morning routine is. Kobe is realizing that China Emily was much more fun and US Emily is much different. Yes, Kobe, you met when she was on vacation and was her vacation self and not her real self. You got preggers way too soon, without either of you knowing much about each other and just the good side which is something that was a temporary reality. Both of you were still sort of strangers. He then gets angry that he can't drive Emily's car. Uh Kobe, life in the US is a bit different. Do you have an International driver's license that does allow you to drive in the US, do you have any license at all, and maybe Emily will need to add you to her car insurance policy as a secondary driver. And so she rants and rants about things and maybe Kobe hopes that he can open the car door and take a jump.

I think Emily no longer likes Kobe, and is doing everything she can to get him to leave.   Maybe she should have thought about long term before she got pregnant with her vacation romance.     She expected her International Underwear Model to show up, and sweep her off her feet.   She babysits sometimes, and he doesn't have a work permit, so she's cutting Kobe off from little Covid or whatever that kid's name is.    I hope Kobe realizes that once he leaves, he'll never get back to see his son again, if Emily can have her way.    I think Emily's back up plan is to have another kid, so she doesn't have to go back to work.       Even if they marry, Kobe still can't work until he gets a work permit either.

Mo, and Yve, that was so predictable, and I'm wondering if their entire storyline is as phony as Bilal and Shaeeda, or Miona and Jibri?

Yve says Mo didn't want her to wear that dress because the thong was showing not because her butt was showing...I took it as a "hey, I see Paris, I see France, I can see your underpants," moment.  She related that story completely wrong thus throwing Mo under the bus.

Those friends knew Mo is Muslim but opted to make him uncomfortable by wearing low cut tops because as one of them said, "It's our tradition," she sounded stupid.  Also stupid the woman who was asking him about sex and porn.

Is this one of those couples that got married prior to filming?

I'm sure he's regretting his decision to fuck her without protection but will grin & bear her until he can get his green card so that he can see his son whenever a judge tells him he can after the divorce.

I wonder what Mohamed's reaction would be if she threw on some granny panties and one of those playtex bras in a skin tone colour.

I did find some of the questions that Yve's "squad" were asking Mo were not appropriate especially when first meeting him (Have you kissed another girl? Have you had sex before Yve? ). You don't ask that when first meeting a friend's fiance.

Kobe and Emily - I don't give any cares at this moment. They made their bed.

I do not understand the lack of birth control but more I do not understand the lack of knowledge about STD's! Protection will prevent all sorts of unwanted souvenirs to bring home and oh yeah, a baby that will tie you to your vacation hook up who you really do not know for ever.

This does not mean I am only questioning the women in this scenario but the men are equally at fault, why wouldn't they want to protect themselves?

I looked it up. Some countries still require an IDP.

Unless he can afford to regularly travel to the US and visit Koban, he is stuck marrying her to get a Green Card to have any role in his son’s life.

It's a bit much, isn't it? Who really takes it upon themselves to ask such intimate questions of their friend's intended on a first (or ever) meeting?  Who died and made them interrogators? If I pulled this on a friend they would take me aside and tell me to cool it. Probably all staged like you said  and I find it very uninteresting.

That's not a sure thing either, they're in Salinas Kansas, home of backwards thinking dumpers. He'd be lucky to get any custody because I can see an all white 'Christian' jury in Kansas thinking, "Oh no, we can't have this child living with this African man...." Nope. I think Kobe's only hope is to try to get her to Cameroon, and then insist they stay there. Ply her with 'you can be an African Queen' or some such bullshit, and get them on his home turf. On her turf he is screwed unless he can move them to a place where he stands a chance of shared custody. IMO, YMMV.

Damn. Day. until the sun burns out.

That didn't exactly work for Mother Jibri! Another couple living with the American parents and freeloading off them while neither works. Oh yeah, Emily is supposedly a nanny. I had to laugh when she said in her TH last night that she "had parenting down" and that she had been on her own since Koban was born. Um no, you've been living with your parents and the only parenting you've been doing on your own is making your boobs available to the kid 24/7.

Reddit, that paragon of all that is true in the world.

Took this directly from the USA.gov website

Foreign Nationals Driving in the U.S.

People who drive in the U.S. must have a valid driver's license. If you're a foreign visitor, some states require you to have an International Driving Permit (IDP) and a valid license from your own country. To find out the ID requirements of the U.S. state(s) where you will be driving, contact that state's motor vehicle department.

It doesn't say which states require an IDP but as long as you have a foreign license there are not many police that would bother booking you for it as the paperwork is horrendous. They wouldn't even give me a speeding ticket because of the paperwork involved (in CA) with a foreign license, the CHP officers eyes glazed over as soon as he saw it.

I wonder if Jibri and Miona discussed finances. She seems to be under the impression that they are loaded, even though they are living with his parents in South Dakota.  Based on her reaction about going to Chicago, it’s clear that the only US cities she has heard about are Los Angeles, New York and Miami.

Kara and her prom king clearly peaked in High School. That reunion looked pitiful.  I wonder how many people were in the graduating class.  Hearing her ex say that he hasn’t recovered from her cheating on him, seemed to have scared the bejesus out Guillermo.

Mama Emily doesn’t appear to trust Kobe with his own son.  It's a shame.

Emily the Mouth is so dictatorial that she's annoying the death out of me. I can't imagine how Kobe feels. He can't drive the car because his child is in it? The only thing she and her mom had a point with was the nuts, and yes, it was a big one!

Yve should have asked this question as soon as they started to get serious: "Do you expect me to live as a Muslim?" I don't feel sorry for her that she was stupid enough not to ask. Her butt
hanging out in that dress was ridiculous. And how did she think he would feel about bikinis in the future after their first fight over it? She's in LA-LA land and her friends are nasty.

Ditto Bini's sisters. They were delighted at the prospect that he might tell them he is miserable. I believe they deliberately sabotaged the relationship by runtelldatting to Ari while she was away. Similarly, Ari's sister had the audacity to ask what they were arguing about as if it was any of her business. Butt out, everyone!

Balloon lady needs punctured. She's a mean piece of work. Both she and her ex are cases of arrested development. She "forgot" her ex stormed out and broke up with her for cheating on him? Okaaay.

Miona is pretty demanding, but I'm with her on the beach wedding. Why does he think that would be so expensive? Of course, nothing can be cheaper than grandma's farm, but, yuck.

Ah, Bilalzebub. Still stringing her along about kids. He's so romantic. Blech. She needs to learn romance is more than  boat rides, etc. Anyone can make grand gestures. Real romance is day to day consideration. For Bilal, gestures are how he keeps women he's abusing stick it out with him.

I am so tired of Emily whipping out her boob in just about every scene.  She is a total bitch and I feel sorry for Kobe who just wants to be a dad.  Cara is also a bitch for popping the balloons that G wanted to save.  So, according to the old boyfriend, she is a cheater and a control freak.  She acts like she is still a mean girl homecoming queen cheerleader.  Not buying her forgetting why they broke up.  Not gonna waste space commenting on Bilal.  He's just asshole who won't admit he doesn't want kids.  Ari's hair was filthy and looked like she hadn't washed it since leaving Africa.  Yves' friends were rude asking those personal questions.  Yve wearing the black thong and see- through dress had to be done on purpose.   These people are all unlikeable but I will continue to watch this trainwreck. lol

Well, how much footage of a sullen import who wants her future brother in law gone can they film? She is boring. Other than that monotone, "Mi amor," crap she says what do they talk about? I know, they talk about John moving out.

Miona was quick to ask Grandma is she could help with chores but bristles when asked to cook an edible meal at the place she lives rent free.

Jibjab says he has to go to Chicago ASAP because of a big record deal with a big time producer and Miona hems and haws about going, I thought she would jump at the chance to get out of South Dakota. I guess she has not heard of the Miracle Mile, restaurants, nightlife, etc...there  could be a chance of finding a new pair of head shades, (that is what I call her sunglasses perched on top of her head) at a fancy store! Also, yeah right a big record deal or finishing an album, sure Jan.

My Sunday infusion of trash and snark!

Bile/Shaeeda: It's only been my experience that when someone wants kids, and they're asked that question by their partner, the answer is always "Yes!"  Any mumbo-jumbo about "getting to know someone better" and "at the right time" when you're already contemplating marriage in a couple months is just a lot of bull for "No".  Shaeeda, Vile Bile doesn't want more kids!  That's his decision, and you have to wake up and see it.  He's the man of  her dreams?  I'd hate to see her nightmare.

Kobe/Emily:  Cameroon was a French colony, so the language is probably still spoken there, or it's in books like the picture book.  I thought starting Kovin (or whatever his name is) off in French was very cool; kids pick up a second language quicker than adults.  But no, Mama Emily had to swoop in like a vulture waiting to pounce.  Emily never has anything good to say to Kobe, it's nag, nag, nag and screeching "You're not doing it right!"  Previews have him finally breaking and yelling "Shut the *&^( up!" Glorious.

Ari/Bini: The only reason Bini is even there is his child, and a green card.  If he could break up with Ari and not lose those, he would.  The man is miserable (with the exception of seeing NYC).  Ari needs to quit whining and get a j-o-b.  Surely there are grocery stores in Princeton (and probably upscale ones at that)?  Can't she learn cashiering?  Bini can watch the baby while she works full-time, and later, they can trade off.  How did Ari expect to live without working?

Kara/G-Man: In a couple of months, I'm going to my *mumblieth* high school reunion, and that reunion last night was what I fear (So far, I think it's going to be really nice).  There's going to be some ex-couples there with their long-time spouses and I doubt that  talk will turn to high school.  It's going to be the kids, grandkids for some, travel, work: you know, current events.  Kara's ex peaked in high school, and has even regressed.  Kara herself was my worst nightmare-a cheerleader mean girl.  The most uncomfortable looking Guillermo's purpose there was "See the boy toy I landed!"

Yve/Mohammed: Even I would have said "Girl, your thong is showing".  With that being said, Mo, this is America; Yve and her friends are not Muslim, and they can wear whatever the heck they want.  But really?  Yve's friends meet an honest-to-goodness Egyptian and all they can ask about is sex??  I for one didn't know Alexandria was still a city; I thought it had been destroyed by an earthquake in antiquity.  Even if the closest you've ever gotten to Egypt is Charlton Heston playing Moses,  couldn't you say you had seen mummies in a museum somewhere and tried to show some interest in his homeland?  I don't like Mo but felt for him that Yve didn't say "Whoa, guys, way too personal!"  And she was a dingdong for bringing him over here without any discussion of his religion and what he wants from a wife, let alone about taking care of Theran.  Now I feel for Theran because when this goes south, Mo will leave and Theran's already bonded with him.

Jibri/Miona: If we drink every time Miona whines about moving to L.A., we'll be sloshed in no time.  Horses and their care, and farms are never going to be her thing.  Maybe Jibjab should get a job, a real job.  Does he have any idea how few musicians actually break through?  How does Miona think people live in L.A., in the lifestyle she wants?  They have lots of earned money.  Neither she nor Jib have the skills to make it out there, and the gap between the haves and have-nots is huge.  She doesn't realize how comfortable they have it now.  I also imagine beach weddings can cost a fortune out there because that's a common fantasy (never mind blowing sand and unbearable heat).  Michigan has beaches.

ETA: I had to go check "beach wedding venues" in SoCal.  The very cheapest I found started at $1500, and that was just for a grassy hill.  Catering, booze, music, etc. not included.  Even the $21,000 venue didn't include the catering.  Yikes.

I am so tired of Emily whipping out her boob in just about every scene.

I have literally watched sex scenes showing less of a woman's breasts than we've seen of Emily's. Having said that, Kobe feeding his son whole peanuts (he said "ground nuts," but the camera shot showed a whole peanut) is a big no-no. At that age, Koban's windpipe is small enough that he could choke to death on one.

Kara and her prom king clearly peaked in High School. That reunion looked pitiful.  I wonder how many people were in the graduating class.  Hearing her ex say that he hasn’t recovered from her cheating on him, seemed to have scared the bejesus out Guillermo.

Mr. Homecoming King looked seriously rough. And who hangs on to that title when they're pushing 30? I went to High School for four years back in the late 1980s, which means four sets of Homecoming Kings and Queens. Who were they? I couldn't tell you if you put a gun to my head. And what is "Homecoming" in a high school context anyway? I can't speak for any other high school, but I don't remember a bunch of HS alumni suddenly showing up during Homecoming week. I'm sure they were all off living their lives and had better things to do than hang around a bunch of teenagers.

According to the Interwebs, Kara attended Virginia's William Monroe High School, which has 942 students, which means an average graduating class of 230 or so. We saw maybe 30-40 people there. My guess: social media has made class reunions much less important. You don't need to attend a reunion to find out what everyone's been up to, as you likely follow them on Facebook or Instagram or whatever and already know. This means the reunion attendance will be mostly limited to people who still live in the area.

Yve should have asked this question as soon as they started to get serious: "Do you expect me to live as a Muslim?" I don't feel sorry for her that she was stupid enough not to ask. Her butt hanging out in that dress was ridiculous. And how did she think he would feel about bikinis in the future after their first fight over it? She's in LA-LA land and her friends are nasty.

Miona is pretty demanding, but I'm with her on the beach wedding. Why does he think that would be so expensive? Of course, nothing can be cheaper than grandma's farm, but, yuck.

Yve's friends were obnoxiously pushing Mohamed's buttons to see how he'd react. Asking a grown adult you've just met about his previous sexual experiences? None of your goddamn business, lady.

The big expense for a beach wedding would be getting to a beach from the Midwest (and I don't think Miona would be happy with the "beach" on one of the great lakes, even though I've heard they can be very nice). The actual wedding need not be expensive: hire a minister for a few hundred bucks, bring a friend or two as witnesses, and you're set. Now if she's expecting pricey accoutrements such as violins and doves and white frilly lace or whatever, that's a different story.

Yves, if you don’t want a conservative, controlling man don’t pick one just because he’s young and fit.  What about his personality if anything was attractive to her?

Supposedly she is a freelance writer.  Maybe she thought she could do that for a couple hours here and there while Avi was sleeping lol.

My high school has reunions of various nonconsecutive classes together (e.g., ‘92, ‘97, ‘02 etc.).  So most of the attendees you wouldn’t even know lol.  It’s probably for economic reasons because of the low interest, but at least cluster them by eras because you may know people that were a year ahead or behind you and you were at least in the building at the same time.
