S10.E14: Lisa's Journey

Watched the "Supersized" version of this last night. What a waste of time!! She never even tried to follow the program-shit, she never got out of that bed except when she was transported back and forth to the hospital! And what was up with those legs?? Holy crap they looked like they were dead! She didn't even care much when her boyfriend died-I know he's in a better place now. Dr. Now needs to give up on these lost causes quicker than he does-there are people out there that will do the program and need the help-not someone like her that just wants to eat herself to death and get some TLC $$$ at the same time. My heros were the EMTs that had to move her huge behind from place to place-hopefully none of them got hurt doing so.

I tried, but I couldn't make it all the way through. Lisa is just a vile and disgusting person. A huge blob of rotting flesh. She has no intention of losing weight, getting out of bed, or contributing to society in any way. I feel for the people who tried to help her -- Dr, Now, the nutritionist and PTs, poor Randy -- and the production crew who had to put up with her for filming. What a waste of resources that could be used to help someone who truly wants help and is willing to do the work.

At the beginning of the show she said "I I must be pretty bad if no one wants to visit me" - then we see her be nasty to visitors over and over.

I realized she was a waste of the show's time and resources the minute she opened her mouth.  Waste of my time for the few minutes I watched.

I for the life of me can't figure out what attracts these men to hosebeasts like Lisa.  It can't be her personality.  She's heinous!  But according to Randy (RIP) she was the love of his life.  I'm at a loss.

I recognize the behavior pattern of chasing everyone away by being thoroughly unpleasant and demanding. This means you get to wallow in your misery and feel sorry for yourself without having to hear anything contradictory. Dr. Now had her number when he said she'd worked it out so everyone in her life was enabling her and giving her everything she wanted.

My mother had these same personality traits towards the end of her life. She'd revel in her own helplessness and go from "Thank you so for much for helping me" to "How DARE you not help me more?" in almost record time: both traits had the effect of driving people away by the carload. When she died alone in a nursing home (after successfully alienating everyone who cared about her), the primary emotion felt by the remaining family members was relief. No funeral was held or considered. A big life goal of mine is not to end up like her.

I don't blame Lisa's family members for staying far away. There's no helping a toxic person who doesn't want to be helped.

Good point. I think she also deep down must have been angry and embarrassed (in her own weird way) to have young, slim, mobile women right next to her when she was lying there beached in bed through her own love of food.

We're a few weeks behind in the UK so I'm just watching this one. What a piece of work. I'm about half-way through and she's just got rid of the physical therapist, yelling "This is why my family don't **** with white people no more!" WTF? I can only imagine she was so hostile to the dietician and physical therapist because they were young and slim and could see right through her.  The lies that came out of her mouth - she'd never received a diet, she didn't eat chips, Lord above, this woman is a piece of work.

Vile, vile woman.

It’s sad that they keep saying her deceased boyfriend died of covid. He had posted to TLC that he had fallen out of bed, hit his head and started having chest pains. He said he told Lisa he needed to go to the hospital and she talked him out of it because what if something happened to her??!!  OMG. That’s on the TKC webpage!  Poor guy. She’s just a pathetic person!

I bet when Lisa started having Covid symptoms, the camera crew set up that remote camera on the tripod (you could see it clearly in shadows, and reflections), and I bet the camera crew was monitoring the feed.   I bet the camera crew called for the ambulance.    Lisa's just trying for sympathy, by claiming he died of Covid.

I’ve rarely posted in this thread bc it’s so depressing…on every level. Most of these folks live in filth and ignorance. I’ve called it poverty porn in the past. A way that TLC makes some viewers feel like they’re voyeurs to the “have nots”. But Lisa got me feeling some way. She’s absolutely irredeemable. No good qualities. A cautionary tale for everyone who eats too much and cares too little. A rich example of entitlement. She’s done such a disservice to people without means who may want to pursue a better life. F**k TLC. They’re as gross as their sideshow freaks.

lisa is a vial person, but more than that she a master manipulator.  The first 5 mins I believe she loved Randy and wanted to lose weight.  She cried, I felt bad.  Then the real Lisa came out.  The way she treated Randy at the grocery store, i could tell he was afraid of her.  Then talking to dr paradise he even believed she was sincere … aka master manipulator.  She cried to Dr P and he, a trained psychologist fell for it.  She’s the worst of the worst.

This lists the patients who died.   However, the Lisa who died was Lisa Fleming from season 6.  She's the one that had the boyfriend Herburt, and potato chip bags in her folds.    

This Lisa was seaon 10, and as far as I know is still alive.
