My penultimate rankings are as meaningful as tonight's Top 4.  Just a guess since I don't see them until Rece & company sees them:

Top 4: Georgia, Michigan, TCU, USC,

Next 2: Ohio State, Alabama

And Then: Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Kansas State, Utah, Washington

Half hour show tonight, I believe.

IMO, and barring a major collapse from the Top 4, Bama is done.  However, I think Ohio State is as well, but to a lesser extent.  While both polls have Ohio State and Alabama at 5 & 6, as mentioned, it'll come down to the rankings.  I wouldn't be shocked if the Tide is 5th over OSU, who lost big at home against their rival missing their big RB star.  If they are, they'll need only one of the Top 4 to lose in order to get in.  Unless it's Georgia, as I don't think they'd miss the playoff outright despite LSU's fall.  What LSU has done this year is very impressive.

I could be wrong about Ohio State missing out, but I don't see any way they jump USC unless the Trojan lose again to Utah.  Sure the Buckeyes are 11-1, but USC is a decent program.  Similar to LSU, they've exceeded expectations.  12-1 is very nice; like OSU, just one loss, but 12-1 as a conference champion over the defending champs would totally clinch their spot in the playoff

If USC loses to Utah, again, then tOSU probably makes it as the #4 seed.  Same if TCU loses.

Bama is beneath tOSU because their quality wins are much lower than the Buckeyes.  There’s no way Bama gets in, unless maybe if both TCU and USC lose.  Even then TCU has the #1 rank of schedule.

Nothing will stop GA and TTUN from getting into the Playoffs, except maybe a 50+ - 0 score as a loss.

FL QB arrested for distributing child pornography

Yikes!!! Just because it’s online does not mean it’s legal or OK.

Holy fuck. I have to wonder what was he thinking? And I also wonder were these pics of a teenage girl that he possibly thought was of legal age, or was he sharing pics of little kids? Either way, no excuse and how dumb is he for thinking just because something’s online it’s okay to share.

A #2 Michigan, an unranked Purdue...I sense a Spoilermaker special incoming. No team has beaten more #2's while unranked than the Spoilermakers have.

In Iowa news, our backup QB has entered the portal, which means that Petras is likely going to play his covid year too *siiiiiiiiiiiigh*. Maybe we can be dead last in offense next year 🙄

I would fucking love for Purdue to beat Harbaugh, but I sadly don’t see it, Michigan’s team will just overpower them I’m afraid, though I’m not sure what the status of Michigan’s RB Corum is. But it would be awesome if Purdue pulled off a miracle.

Corum is going to have knee surgery. Out for the season.

That’s a huge blow to Michigan.

Huge for Saturday?  Probably not.  The playoffs? Definitely.  Depends on the slotting.  They might need to have enough against USC or TCU.  Plus, hope someone knocks off Georgia.  Unless it's the Buckeyes

Here come the times for the Top 6 Conference Title Games.  Each of the 10 games for a title are pretty good, even if they result in not much (like this year's ACC Championship though the Orange Bowl is still worth it).  The Sun Belt, MAC, Mountain West, and CUSA have meaning even if they're not for a playoff spot or a New Year's Six spot; the CUSA game is tonight; 1 of 2 for Friday with everything else scheduled for Saturday

Friday, December 2

Pac-12 Championship
8:00 on FOX
Utah vs USC

Saturday, December 3

Big XII Championship
12:00 on ABC
Kansas State vs TCU

American Championship
4:00 on ABC
Central Florida vs Tulane

Southeastern Conference Championship
4:00 on CBS
Louisiana State University vs University of Georgia

American Coastal Conference Championship
8:00 on ABC
Clemson vs University of North Carolina

BIG Ten Championship Game
8:00 on FOX
Purdue vs Michigan

All times are Eastern.  Looks like 3 for ABC, 2 for FOX and 1 for CBS.  Fox had just the one (B1G) last year with ABC/ESPN airing the Pac-12 in 2021 (same Friday slot)

I just found out that Luke Fickel  is leaving Cincinnati for Wisconsin.

Doesn’t surprise me that he left for a bigger stage.   He always said he would never take a job in the B1G east, Due to his love for Ohio state and the state of Ohio.  But a B1G West job keeps those promises and gives him more leverage in recruiting and building a culture.

Now I can only hope he reverts back to his pre-2014 self!  😁😁😁

So far, so good for the University of Southern California.  14-3 with two endzone scores in each of their possessions.  Just a FG for the actual reigning and now truly defending champs in Utah, but their second shot is on the way.

(Even with a surprise collapse) I don't see how anything occurring on Saturday results in someone other than Caleb Williams ending the calendar year sans the Heisman Award

Yeah, Xeliou, Williams is not healthy.

FWIW, the committee chair didn't really confirm the lack of a chance of Bama to jump Ohio State despite neither team playing a game this weekend.  I can't see it, but possibly could if Michigan loses.

We also don't know what will happen early tomorrow with TCU & Kansas State

I don’t see it happening, period, although I think Bama has a better team the OSU. I just don’t want 2 Big Ten teams in it when the Big Ten sucked moose ass for the most part this season, both OSU and Michigan didn’t face strong competition. I think they would both get crushed in the playoffs.

But yeah USC looks like shit and they are totally out of sync right now.

This is brutal.  The USC defense is being the USC defense (I mean, I still scream obscenities at things like the utter idiocy of dropping back and giving up the TD at the end of the first half, but I know going into each game they're going to have me eyeing an extra hypertension pill), so I'm used to that, but watching Williams deteriorate before my eyes is utterly painful.

Oh, well - think of the free time I'll have by skipping the playoffs filled with teams I either don't give a shit about or hate.  (The NFL, I'll watch pretty much any game, and certainly in the post-season, but in college football I have to care about a team to watch.)

Take the points.  It's still 2 scores vs an "injured" QB.  If Utah can score again that's great, but it still forces USC to go down the field.  Maybe once with a TO.

Looks like I made the right choice to stop watching.

Looks like I didn't make a great choice crowning Williams officially even with a loss.  Though I don't know who else would win the award right now

I figured it was trouble when I saw Caleb's bleeding throwing hand.

That's the least of his problems.  He has basically one functioning leg, and every step he takes looks like my out-of-shape, middle aged self stiffly lumbering down the hall the morning after I've done manual labor.  He's purely a passer now, and even that is hard fought, so it's on the O-line and receivers to compensate.  Big, big ask, but that last drive finally brought some spark back.

And that will seal it, Utah will win it. Impressive performance by the Utes, they are a formidable program, but USC played terribly after the 1st quarter, they shit the bed, terrible defense and poor O-Line play and Williams was beat up. This throws the playoff picture into chaos but it looks like fucking Ohio St and Michigan will get in, fuck that, the Big Ten wasn’t any good this year and those 2 had a virtual cakewalk,

It will be fun watching them get the crap kicked out of them in the playoffs (hopefully).

Oh I’m pretty sure they will, the Dawgs kicked Harbaugh’s ass last year, and this Michigan team isn’t as good as last year’s and their best offensive player in Blake Corum is now out for the year. And Ohio St just hasn’t been impressive this season, they’ve underperformed all year. I like Ohio St better than Michigan now that Urban Liar is gone, but I don’t care for either.

I was hoping the PAC 12 would get a team in for the first time since 2016 but USC shit themselves tonight. But Utah is an impressive team, people kind of forgot about them after their loss to Florida in Week 1 but this is back to back PAC 12 titles and Rose Bowl trips for them, they are a stellar program.

Not so fast re: Michigan.  If the Wolverines lose, they're done.  Instead, people will be pissed about a Bama Buckeye filled Playoff

The joy I felt at USC getting bitch-slapped around the field like Peyton Manning at SB XLVIII was mitigated by the sorrow I felt with the realization that either That Fucking School or That Other Fucking School will now make the playoffs, so it really ended up being a zero-sum night for me.

The universe truly does strive for equilibrium.  Fascinating.

Honestly, I wanted to see USC in the Playoffs, because they were exciting to watch.

Now, I’m happy my team probably gets in.  But dang it Ryan Day, you better have some answers on Defense for GA’s offense.

With Stroud sucking the last few weeks, Bryce losing two games, Blake being out for the rest of the season, and Williams not faring well in the PAC-12, the Heiseman is anyone’s to take.  My money is on Corum, because 1)he’s not a QB, and 2) his stats over the season are pretty damn impressive over the other three.
