S03.E09: Life After Lockup - Bat Out of Hell

Like a bat out of hell the regular season 3 cons and con lovers are gone for the next four episodes.  In their stead we catch up with some prior couples, thruples and quadruples.  Ah, Tony and Angela, back to make us wonder whether Angela is ever without a cigarette.  I suspect she has found a way to smoke while she sleeps.  Meanwhile Brittany seems to be having another child with professional, not particularly successful, gambler Marcelino.  Let's see what these crazy kids are up to now.

The best part of this episode was the preview for the other show.  

It'll be okay, but I dont understand casting britney and marcelino.  And I probably didn't need Sarah pining after her deadbeat husband.

Hasn’t it been established that Andrea knew Lamar since/in high school?  If he grew up in LA, I assume she did too. So why is she acting like she isn’t from California?

I also thought she lived in LA when she was on another reality show.

At least physically, Malcolm is a huge upgrade from Mike/Murgh. I could even understand almost all of what he said. How long will it take Cabbage Patch to get pregnant with a revenge baby?

Brit and Marcellino's kids are cute, but I didn't need to see that.

Angela is a moron, already on the jailbird pen pal sites before she's even disposed of the last mistake. I know poor Tommy isn't an 'exciting' bad boy, but he lurves you, girl, and he's even marginally better-looking than that dead-eyed little stump.

Why are Andrea and Lamar still together??? She's going to make his life hell until she gets her way, and I don't think she's going to. Lamar is even stubborner than she is, imo.

Chane, listen to your inner sceptic! The Silicon Monster will dump both you and Chon if somebody more toothsome appears. And I will boycott this show if we have to see the Monster spawning.

He should also be worried that she called the cops on John when he did something she didn’t like. If Shane ever steps out of line with her she’ll do the same to him. She’s a terrible person.

Lacey loves the drama.  They made it sound like the neighbors called the cops because the fight was so loud.  I still blame Lacey because she new that was a risk and we've seen her do her absolute most to escalate situations in the past. Chayne previously was the one with sense enough to try to walk away while she was hitting him.  She really wanted to get him thrown back in jail.  His common sense, of course, disappeared when he married her. 

Chayne did himself no favors with that ceasar haircut.  Was that scene shot during covid restrictions? Did he put a piece of tape across his hair and cut along the line?

Lamar makes me laugh, for real. He's hilarious. Andrea is humorless and overbearing and I'll bet her kids can't wait to get out from under her thumb. (her kids are aces, by the way. I love them.) 

And if they live in the "hood" I'll cheerfully eat my hat. I'm sure their neighborhood is perfectly fine. But of course Andrea has to constantly have hysterics about it being the "hood" so that she can suck all the air out of the room. I have rarely seen someone so exhausting. 

Sarah's instigating a fight between her current BF and her baby daddy, to take place at her child's birthday party. Keep it classy, Sarah. Why not "accidentally" let the date and location slip to Meghan and Maria, too? The more the merrier! 

So Lacey splashed out for some new extensions and another round of Botox? Chane must be having a hard time finding a job, since he's willing to humiliate himself again for the TLC paycheck. I pray to all the gods in the pantheon that I am never that hard up. 

Angie. Angie Angie Angie. She's so sad. Now she's trawling prison pen pal websites again? Because if her man is in prison she knows where he is and knows he's not getting into trouble? Girl. Seek help. This is so not healthy. 

Tony cracks my shit up though. Yeah Tony, your big porky, sweaty, yelly, lowlife, cigarette bearing self is going to win Angie back with your devastating charm!  Points for confidence, I guess. And you don't underestimate your mark. Anyone want to bet that she takes him back? Her self esteem is so low its heading for the center of the earth.

I was not moved by the birth of yet another Brittany spawn.  I do get the sense that she might keep going though.  It seems that losing custody of her kids messed her up (more than she already was) so she is trying to fill that gap with more and more kids.  Trying to do the math to see if she'll challenge Michelle Duggar at 19 kids.

I like Lamar too.  He is funny without being a try hard.  He is willing to clown around and enjoys it.  Some of the others are so concerned with looking tough.  He doesn't care.  It was bizarre seeing a real discussion about religion on this show.  Lamar clearly does not want his daughter to be Mormom.   I assume Andrea's son will do his year of missionary work to get as far away from her as possible.  It is amazing how centered her kids are.  

Tony always looks like he needs a silkwood shower.  Given al the sweat on him and Angela's constant smoking, he has to smell so ripe.  Yeah, Tony, you can really charm the ladies!

Sarah's "new relationship" screams fake stunt. Idk if it was a cringe, a wince or a convulsion but Malcom did something weird after he asked about the red panties. He's not into her.

Didn’t John say that the cops told him Lacey called them? The way I understood it was: Lacey and John went to a strip club, where he talked to another woman. Lacey and John went home & got into a fight. The cops showed up and arrested John. I think things had calmed down by the time they got there. When they were booking him, the cops told him that Lacey called them.

Angela has a good sister. Tony is still no good lol. Lacey loves male attention. Poor John,seems like he’s her fool. Shane looks better this season but still has that trashy look to him haha. Lamar is so funny,Andrea’s children are very cute. Sarah still seems very much into Michael and he still doesn’t seem to care. Her new guy just wants to be on tv.

Chane already has a job as a 'fire watcher', remember? That's what he was doing last season, too, so he's at least able to hold down some kind of job. I actually love Angela. She's got this whole redneck Southern Gothic thing going on. Despite her straggle tooth, the fact that she probably smells like a chimney that hasn't been cleaned since Dick van Dyke was dancing on the roof, and her questionable taste in men I think she's a good person. In an Angela Off against the one from 90Day I'd definitely root for her.

Lacey is garbage.  The way I read the story is that chon dared to talk to another girl when they were out.  Lacey was probably out there hitting  chon and daring him to hit her back, as we've seen her do before.  

Chon was smart enough to walk away from her before but this time he either took the bait and hit her back or he walked away.  

Lacey, realizing that there wasn't any conflicting  video footage this time simply called the cops and said that chon hit her unprovoked and had him taken to jail.  

Lacey used the cops to punish chon the way people punish their kids and I'd bet good money that she tried to withdraw her complaint and get him out of jail but it was too late so she looked up chane.

Angie must have had a Zoom conference with Destinie’s family. Best to get with a guy who has a record, because that means you know what he’s done in his past. Too many unknowns if the guy is a law-abiding citizen. 🤷‍♀️

What she needs to do is call that friend of hers who proposed to her last season, the one who looks like Jerry Springer. She would have a good, stable life with him. I suspect she likes the drama on some level.

I did feel for Andrea, saying that she has worked hard to keep her kids safe, and now she feels like they are where she never wanted to end up.  She is just worried about her kids.

When Malcolm said, (I'm paraphrasing) "maybe Merg and I should meet before the party, so we can get any discomfort out of the way," Sarah looked upset, like uugh no you need to fight for me in front of a whole party!  Malcolm seems to have his head on straight, and he seems kind... not sure what he's doing with Sarah.  I'm sure she will mess this relationship up so she can pine for Murgh.

I'm surprised the police would do that, doesn't it seem like a bad idea to tell a man who was abusing a woman (or even if it is a woman abusing a man) that THAT person called the police?  I would think they wouldn't want to say that and cause that person to look for retribution when they get out of jail.  I mean, I think Chon seems like a nice guy who struggles with addiction... but what if he was actually an abusive guy?
