Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

Recommended Posts

Hmm, one would think Jabot's building security wouldn't let Victor Newman stroll right into Jack's office, unannounced and uninvited.

Seriously, Nikki? Claire meeting Victor halfway means he gets to run her life? You're bad at math, hon, because half does not equal 100%.

Claire practically had a halo over her head during her hug with Kyle at the park. Are we supposed to see the schmoopy duo as GC's version of Romeo and Juliet? Uh, yeah, no.

Or else what, Victor? Didn't look to me like Adam was scurred. Who he sells his condo to likely won't be your decision no matter how much you stomp and scream .

Why did Claire think Nikki would be of any help?  She was useless (in yet another hair-don’t).  She likes her lifestyle way too much to go against Vic.  Same with Adam.  You know he’ll slink away from the apartment deal cuz Vic ordered him to.

I dunno, I think Adam will decide to find a way around Victor's ridiculous demand. He could sell the condo to a shell company and let it handle Claire and Kyle's puchase. Claire and Adam could put their Ivy League educations to use and do an untraceable transaction.

what do ya bet Claire gets preggers?  And the fun begins?

Has the word ‘fun’ been redefined to mean standing downwind of Nick after someone pulled his finger?

I feel like I’m supposed to be rooting for Claire’s and Kyle’s all consuming love to triumph over the sentient fossil, but I genuinely can’t be arsed. Schmoopy talk while boning your kid’s nanny isn’t a grand, sweeping romance. I cannot even fathom fighting a cold to be with the likes of Kyle Abbott, let alone a vampire. Almost the whole dreary show was about those two assholes and their tedious angst about moving in together. You’d think a billionaire tycoon would have better shit to do than disappear up his own ass over his granddaughter’s love life. You’d be wrong.

A good writer who wasn’t penning Newman fanfic would have let Jack throw hands when Victor floated into Jabot like the ringwraith he is. At least let security give him a ten bell wedgie.

If they’re willing to follow the story to its logical conclusion, I’m willing to watch.

Holy hell Chelsea is dumb. She knows she’s made a terrible career move but doubles down anyway. Adam, meanwhile, explains to his lackey how to pronounce the name Dumas because we haven’t heard that enough. One day, Esther will hand Victor a manly mug of strong black coffee at Crimson Lights. As he swallows the last bitter dregs, Victor sees writing at the bottom of his cup. I am Aristotle Dumas.

Suggestion to JG: Start a storyline in which TGVN becomes a toothless old tiger when his children unite in finding ways around him while making him believe that they are all in line with his ridiculous demands - and it's becoming more-and-more apparent that it's time for EB's Victor to be given emeritus status - it's at the point where the most that EB can physically contribute to the character is the Victor Newman voice and scowl

Vic screeched today how he hates the Abbott family.  That includes Ashley, who he married & had a child with?  That includes his own daughter with Ashley — poor forgotten Abbey?  That includes Traci, who saved his life?  That includes his grandchildren — Vicks’ & Billy’s children, who are legally Abbotts & (presumably) have the Abbott last name?

Vic’s rants are sounding more & more unhinged & senseless.  The intensity of his anger when he was in Jackie’s office was really skeery.  Kyle was rightfully disturbed.  Jackie was oddly indifferent— as if he’d been there, done that so many times with Vic, this was per usual for him.  Idk, Jackie, cut the indifference cuz this looks like big trouble . . .

eh, JG must have seen the viewer complaints about Cyaxares during the Ashland Locke storyline and said, "Hold my beer."

Pull my fingerer

I sorta like what Nikki had on, but I would preferred it as a blouse with a black skirt and a less aggressive necklace.

Kyle are you that stupid?  Rhetorical question, of course he is. He thinks by going with Claire/Eve to face Victor will be helping.  Why do Victor’s advisories, Kyle and Billy👃, think it’s better to confront him head on.

When Mrs 🐿️ talks all I hear is squeak squeak squeak until she makes a good point that Chelsea didn’t think about the negatives. Chelsea, stay with Marchetti. It’s your first best destiny. On that note, Sally should do the same because Billy👃is no bargain to work for because when push comes to shove he won’t listen to you and do what he wants.

I really don’t think that Claire/Eve is all in on her relationship with Kyle. At best, it’s an infatuation with Kyle being her first and first love.  There is one big thing that Victoria and Nick🦍 didn’t have with face with their choice of significant others, they are not an Abbott.  Besides over the years, Victor’s animosity, for the Abbots, have grown exponentially.

When a show becomes shallow and repetitive, as this one has, it's time to either call it a day, or change direction, and I'm in favor of changing direction, transitioning to new storylines with new characters that exist outside of the world of personal rivalries among the mega-rich - I have a confession to make, I loved BTG when it started, but I'm finding it more-and-more of a disappointment because the writing seems to have fallen into the same formula as Y&Rs, in the case of BTG, it's a rich family living in a gated community and the conflicts that arise.

10 minutes after watching and I've already forgotten most of Show.

Victor is starting to make Jabba the Hut look and sound more benevolent and kind.  That remark he made to Nikki about how he's been right to interfere in his children's lives because of all their divorces was remarkablely unselfaware.

He's been married to Nikki at least 4 times, to Ashley twice, and to 7 other women, one of whom was his daughter-in-law.

Nikki's racked up at least 4 with Victor, to Jack twice, and to 5 other guys as well.

That's not a glass house he's throwing stones at, it's a whole damn glass city.

Previews - Claire's going to through a party!!  The New Year's party in Rosemary's Baby wasn't as grim as this will be.

Yeah, Victor seems to be undergoing some kind of medical issue and it's affecting his brain, hence the sudden outbursts of rage and threats. Only this time it'll be real and not a fake out like he pulled with Nate. Of course it'll be curable since Victor isn't allowed to lose, even to illness.

I agree. He doesn’t hear how ridiculous he sounds. I know how hard it is to get someone to seek medical help but this is turning into a very dark, sad situation . What I don’t understand is why grown, adult people are afraid to cross him or even listen to his rants. All this plotzing is making me sick, too. Shut up, people, and get on with your life!

I hate to predict this, I really do, but what do ya bet Mariah hooked up with a man,

Based on the way Mariah's acting, my mind has gone to much darker places so hooking up with some rando guy would be a nice, safe, dull choice.

Billy needed to cut Red off instead sitting there letting her insult his girlfriend, but he still let Phyllis have the last word. AFAIC Billy's final word should've been "5150."

When I read that I thought you said 5950 and I thought, why would Joi want Billy to give Phylthy a Yankees hat?

I wish they'd all let it go. Nothing on this show lives up to the hype. And besides, we all know it's going to turn out to be Mamie.

ETA: I did not type "Billy". I typed the cookie name. Something is rotten in Denmark.

5950. Now that's what I'd call an inside baseball reference, literally. Learn something new every day.

Fie! Fie! Not Mamie! It was hard enough getting rid of her last time she showed up. Gah! 😱😱😱😱😱
