Well, what a difference 24 hours make; I'm over my sudden attack of SAD, and watched today's show with some degree of engagement - what if what Lily and Abby were saying about Amy Lewis and her son, Nate's alleged half-brother, Damian, could be true - I mean, why have those characters raise that possibility if it wasn't going to be part of the storyline - and what if Damian had broken with his mother because she made her living from shopping him around as the half-brother of a lot of different rich folks?

Uh, so if they're handing out jobs like free bagels & cream cheese over at Winters now, to deadbeat half-brothers with very questionable backgrounds, why not give a job to Audra too?  If they'll trust Damian, who's had 5 jobs (5 jobs!!) in the last year, why not Audra?

Ah, it finally hit me why Audra was so covered up, with a Columbo raincoat that I've NEVER seen anyone in LA ever wear ever.  AND I don't ever remember ever seeing Audra that covered up!  So I knew Show was up to something.  I bet it'll give her the op to do a reveal to Damian, when she meets him. 

Sure, Audra will take off the Columbo raincoat, to show off one of her usual tighty-tight va-va-voom things, & Damian's eyes will pop outta his head like so -- thus starting the rivalry btw Natey & Damian & give Audra a storyline again . . .

Audra's trenchcoat today was very similar to the one Tessa had on yesterday, except in what looked like winter white. (Worn on TV described the color as "light peach." Okay, sure.)

Chelsea was wearing a winter white coat too. (However, Worn on TV called it "cream-colored.") Either way, I guess the look is back in fashion again.

It's clear to me that none of the monkeys with typewriters have ever been to Wisconsin in January. Most of us are layered to the eyeballs with turtlenecks, sweaters and fleeces, while the bozos in GC are prancing around half nekkid. 
BTW, I also think that this Amy character and Damien are working Natey, and Audra is in on the potential scam too. I won't be mad if it leads to the return of Tucker McCall.

Friday Rant:

• Why do the writers have to take the scenic route with these stories?  There's Nateynatenate setting up fake job offers and meetings that may or may not result in Damien joining the company when it would be easier to tell him the truth and then offer him a job.  Do Nate and Devon really think their new found family member will trust them with anything after this cloak and dagger bullsh*t? (although, I'm with Joi on this and hope he and Amy are running a con.)
• Can we tone it down on the Family Is Everything crap?  It's no way to run a corporation.  Just because you are related does not mean you are the best person for the job. (See:  Billy.) And if I never hear the word Legacy again, I die happy. 
• And then there's Chekov's water bottle.  It's just sitting there, waiting to be sipped by Tessa again, and then she will have another "asthma" attack.  Good thing Ian is lurking outside with his inhaler.  
• Is it just me or was the dialogue really heavy on exposition this week?  Not that it wasn't useful, since most of us don't know/understand/care why Ian and Jordan are in cahoots.  Still confused as to Ian.  Is he after Newmans, Newman adjacent (Sharon) or Mariah?  And what was Jordan doing for the last 20 years that she has honed her murder skills?  Are there on-line classes for that?
• Phillus' rubber ducky lips get bigger every episode and they are so glossed that I'm expecting them to slide off her face.

When was Tessa born again, this time as a wide-eyed, naive naif?  When Tessa came to town, she was a woman who lived by her wits, had grown up in a shady, uncertain and violent household.  She blackmailed Nikki to get money to help save her sister, did some shady shit when Victoria, Nikki and Sharon tried to kill JT, pretty much showed that she was capable of pretty much anything, if needed.  So it doesn't track that now, all of a sudden, she's become easy prey for an emotional grifter like Ian.

For long-time viewers, Amy running a con would be a big stretch and completely out of character.  Amy was one of the original Scooby gang.  She worked with Paul and Andy, she was good friends with Traci, she sang with Danny, she recognized that Nathan was illiterate and taught him to read.  I guess anything is possible seeing how Mamie came back as unrecognizably overbearing, but I can't see Amy as a scammer.

I just saw the news that Eric Braeden’s and Melissa Claire Egan’s homes burnt down in the LA fires.  Eric lived in his home for 45 years and Melissa just moved into her home 2 weeks ago. Melissa’s home was in the Pacific Palisades as was Eric’s home.

I have to say my 20 year old son walked in while she was on and he remarked about all the work these women have done to their faces just by that brief observation. That was probably the first time he has seen her.

Boo Boo (Harrison)  is actually smarter than the average bear.  Kids pick up on things before the adults actually realize it.  Harrison heard Claire/Eve and Kyle “laughing” in Kyle’s bedroom.  If I was Claire/Eve I would be laughing and not moaning.  Claire/Eve was looking at his little schmekel and asked who are you going to please with that?  Kyle answers, myself.

There was an interview with Maura West from back in 2011 after she was let go when Diane was "killed off". She said looking back she should have waited for something else, instead of taking the job at Y&R so soon after ATWT was cancelled. At first, she was unaware that she was recast for Diane and was told that the de-aging of the character was intentional after she expressed concern about it. She also said that by the second week of work she realized that no one was really invested in the character (which I took to mean the writers).

I think it would be an excellent idea to turn Harrison’s precociousness level down several notches. Write him like a real kid, not the cloying, perfectly behaved child that reacts to everything in just the right way.

Oh, hey, it’s Adam being a manipulative dickwad again, decked out in his best emo Miami Vice duds and shitty haircut. Chelsea obviously wants nothing to do with moving into Raunch II. Adam makes her feel guilty about thinking he’s manipulating her even as he blatantly uses their son and his OCD to get her under the same roof. This is amazing writing to make me pity Chelsea and loathe Adam.

I think Connor has a propensity to bury the lead when he tells his family about his OCD's.  Or they are not giving him enough time to finish his story.  He was incarcerated treated in-house for his problem and he has the 'tools' to cope, as he himself has said repeatedly.  If they want to child-proof the house every time he gets a hair up his tush they better have a contractor on retainer and on call 24/7.

Chelsea and Victoria are not really friends so why would Victoria expect Chelsea to open up to her about any inner conflict.  Why would Victoria try to talk Chelsea into moving in with Adam?  What’s in it for her?  Maybe Victoria has a softer side since she’s in love and had her child back. 

Didn’t Auntie Jordan say to Ian that he led their enemies to their door?  If that was the case, would Victor’s security team know that there was another person in his room?  Wouldn’t they follow the other person also. 

Please tell me how Sharon could skip town?  Did she have a go bag full of money and a false passport and credit cards.  The GCPD should have the ability to check Sharon’s bank account, debit card usage, or credit card usage to see if she skipped town. 

Auntie Jordan killed Heather. What a surprise (not).  Ian keeping Auntie Jordan warm in bed is a sight that’s even too awful for the monkeys with a keyboard to portray. There will be so many TV screens cracking all over TV land.  

I’m going to wait until tomorrow before commenting on Claire/Eve vs Auntie Jordan but it should be interesting the emphasis is on should be.
