This was ok but it’s pretty clear that NBC has no faith in this show based on the scheduling. Watch it become a surprise hit though despite the network’s attempts to bury it.

A lot going on in the pilot when they could have stretched these events out across a whole season, but it seems they wanted to use this to set the backstory. It’s just hard to make a show work when the main character of a pilot dies 2/3 through the episodes, and the people that the show is actually supposed to be about based on the title didn’t leave much of an impression. That will no doubt change in future episodes but we have to wait a month for that.

It is nice to see a show actually set in the city it’s filmed in that isn’t NYC or LA. Savannah is a great location for this type of show.

The scenery and the cast really sold me on this. Yeah, it's not high art, but DAMN. No one can make me cry like Michael O'Neill or Tom Everett Scott. And J August Richards? AND Clive Stanten???? I needed this tonight! And Sarah Wayne Callies is fantastic. I haven't even touched on the 'kids cast' but they all are wonderful as well.

I won't be shocked if they bump up the return, with the Covid-19 situation - there are probably a lot of holes in the schedule. Fingers crossed!

This just seemed like a mash-up of This is Us and A Million Little Things.  Tragic early dad death.  Unintended middle-aged pregnancy.  Atypical sexual/gender identity of young actor.  Four-way bromance.  Blah blah blah.

And who the hell puts a black garter belt on a months' old baby's head for a funeral?  With a black net shower sponge glued on to it?

I enjoyed it.. I've always been a Sarah Wayne called fan... Since I was a kid watching the OG prison break... M. O'neill as Larry was a bright spot... Loved how he handled the son.... The eldest daughter was distractingly beautiful.. But as the eldest of half siblings myself I know what it means to sometimes put ur things on hold to deal with family issues... Was kinda confused... I saw Sharon leal's name in the credits and I saw her at the wedding... I assumed she'd be the bio mom of Luly... But she didn't speak... Either way looking fwd to the show

I will admit I only tuned in for Tom Everett Scott.  I've had bad luck with these family dramas lately, so I had very low expectations.  But darn if this show didn't make me ugly cry!  I haven't done that since Parenthood! Just based on the pilot, I feel like this is the show A Million Little Things should have been (and so, so isn't....)

I'm reluctant because even though I should love family dramas, I haven't had one work for me since, well, Parenthood but I'm definitely in to see if this one pans out.

I loved the fact that this took place in Savannah and not "Savannah."  I'm too lazy to check this out, but is the Perry house, at least the exterior of it, the same house used in Forrest Gump?  It seems incredibly familiar to me and that's the only thing that came to mind.

Larry, Anthony and Oliver--the fact that I can remember their names AND tell you which on is which says a lot about this show as it usually takes me a couple of episodes to get everyone's name down.  I feel like we didn't really get to know Anthony (yet), but I really like both Larry and Oliver.

I didn't see the JJ reveal coming, but I felt that they did it quite well.  I'm still waiting to see what the "thing" is with all the kids--we got a lot of, um, Lulu?  And we know that son #1 has some anger issues and daughter #2 hides in the closet and is obsessed with Anne Frank, but that is about it.

One complaint...I once again had to yell, "THAT IS NOT WHAT LABOR IS LIKE" when -- boom!--the mother's water broke and she was having the baby *right then.*  Since I can't think of any time I've seen labor accurately depicted on US TV, I realize that this shouldn't bother me at this point.

First off -  I am feeling tingly because of the gorgeous house porn.  Oh man that house!

Second - I like the writing in this.  Even thought I too immediately got a Million Little Things + This is Us vibe, the writing even for an angsty pilot, had a lot of wit to it.  It just didn't feel as overwrought as AMLT did right out of the bat. I loved  the 'RBG' pep talk.

Third - so nice to have a show set in a city that tv shows aren't normally set in and you get a real sense of place as you're watching it.

Fourth - Nobody annoyed me or made me roll my eyes. The casting is excellent.  Even down to the kids. I especially liked Larry.

Fifth - I legit felt emotional about this. Especially when Luly said out of the blue  'My dad died at 3:00 am this morning."   and when Theo was silently crying as Larry was putting on his tie.

Sixth - That was a frickin' gorgeous wedding.

The show went fast and I enjoyed it.

Yes it was, and Luly's dress was gorgeous.  I cried (well, continued to cry) when Anthony, Larry, and Oliver each took their turn walking her down the aisle.  That was just so unbelievably touching.

I really hope that subsequent episodes live up to this one.

I haven't watched it yet but I will at some point this week and I am kind of excited. The creators keep posting about it a lot on social media where they are filming it and stuff and it looks really good and interesting. I am partially excited because the creators were on Grey's Anatomy before and I do like the episodes they wrote and the characters they storylines they fought for. So I am excited to see what they actually do with their own show.

That was my thought as well, it feels like so many other things I am watching right now. I'm really getting tired of dead father shows.  I was having a hard time getting into the characters, especially, with all the time jumps.

I may give it another shot, depending on what else is on when it comes back.

I wanted to like it..as I love Tom Everett Scott, but as someone said above, you can tell a Network/Casting exec had to check all the boxes...and get all the right marketing groups going. It felt like it had some heart but it also felt like network notes were all over this and there was a bit of trying too hard.

I thought that even before I saw the pilot.  But this was WAY better than A Million Little Things, which went off the rails after the first season IMO.

Wait, A Million Little Things was good at some point? This show is not actively annoying but not particularly memorable either. I’ll keep watching but I watched this show for Scott, so bummed his character dies. No one else stands out.

I liked it. Eventhough it straddled the saccharine sweet in some areas. I will also say that A Million Little Things has many annoying moments for me, as does This Is Us (one of my top three shows currently airing), I still like them too.

I gave A Million Little Things two episodes. Terrible, terrible show.

This, to me, was Hallmark Channel levels of schlocky. That being said, I like schlock more than darkness on my TV. I'll give it at least one more episode. The problem is the best character died. And presumably, shows back up in flashbacks. Doesn't feel at all fresh.

AMLT is an enjoyable hate watch IMO. It’s straight up soap opera nonsense but most of the acting is good enough to sell the ridiculous material.

I thought this show had some promise right up until the 40-something DOCTOR accidentally got pregnant. I'm sorry, but I hate this plot device with the fire of a million suns and yet it happens in pretty much every single family drama (Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, A Million Little Things, Manifest, etc. etc. etc.). It's just so lazy and played out. Also felt like the family was just set up to check every diversity box. The emotions felt very contrived with very little heart. Still trying to decide if I want to bother with another episode or not...

The wedding was beautiful.  Not sure who the actress is but she is stunning.

TES best part .  Guess we will get flashbacks ?

Something is very off with this family.  They seem very distant from each other in a strange way.

My feelings too. It seems like everyone is stepping on eggs to deal with each other. The mom is so perfect, the kids are kids but the best kids, acceptance of everything without questioning seems unrealistic, unless we get backstories. I don't think it is the acting, I think it is the premise but I don't really know.

I also feel like the show runners decided that they HAD to have mixed race couple/offspring, same sex couple, another minority to get the quota higher, someone who is transgender or questioning. I do think that representation is important and complain when there is not disability representation in the media - real disabled people, not pretend disabled - but throwing it all at once, in one family and that family circle feels more like tokenism than actual inclusivity. Maybe they are trying to appeal to a larger audience? It is a risk because if not done really well, it might backfire.
